We investigate basic issues concerning stored threads and their execution, building upon Maurer's model for computers and the thread algebra of Bergstra et al. We show among other things that a single thread can control the execution on a Maurer machine of any executable finite-state thread stored in the memory of the Maurer machine. We also relate stored threads with programs as considered in the program algebra of Bergstra et al. The work is intended as a preparation for the development of a formal approach to model micro-architectures and to verify their correctness and anticipated speed-up results.

Abstract:
Abstract Preparations for old age benefit physical and psychological health in later life. The population in Hong Kong has the longest life expectancy in the world. However, Hong Kong residents prepare less for their old age than their counterparts in the US and Europe. Hence, an evidence-based intervention program was developed to improve old-age preparation in Hong Kong. The program aimed to comprehensively cover the preparation for old age by involving four domains (finance, health, social relationship, and leisure activity). Specifically, the program started with four workshops where participants learned from experts on how to prepare for old age in four domains. Then, participants were grouped according to their domains of interest, and guided planning was provided to empower them to hold their old age-preparation activities for six months. A tracking survey was conducted every two weeks during the period. Finally, 140 adults (31 males; 45-83 years of age, Mage = 65.21, SD = 7.52) finished the intervention program. Findings showed that participants increased their levels of self-control, readiness for, and satisfaction with aging preparation in three domains (all except finance) after joining the workshop. After six months of intervention, a reduction in anxiety and an improvement in meaningfulness were also found in all four domains. These findings suggest that the intervention program motivates individuals to engage more in age-related preparatory behaviors across domains. This has practical implications for training old-age preparation.

Abstract:
The irrational control of Dermanyssus gallinae ectoparasites (De Geer, 1778) in intensive livestock can cause health problems, economic damage, and can also toxicologically harm the health of humans and the environment. Formulation P 547/17 (Pulcap) is a new generation of inert matter (an oil). In Pulcap formulation and technology, the fulfilment of rigorous criteria for rational control of D. gallinae were tested and present in this paper. Those criteria are the following: the safety of the preparation (i.e. the preparation is non-toxic); the feasibility of application of the preparation in facilities, for handling transport cages, on used cages and equipment, as well as in inhabited buildings; the method of application - the preparation is applied by spray method (external application). The aim of the application was also considered. It is to make the control effective, on the condition that eradication is feasible. Then, the conditionality, which imply that the application of this preparation requires fulfilling hygienic conditions, break of production in facilities, a certain temperature and professional approach to it. The efficacy of the preparation is another important criterion. It implies that the clinical results of the application have been monitored in different conditions at different time intervals. It has been proven that there is no resistance to this preparation. The disadvantages of the preparations were also observed. It is the absence of prolonged action on absorbent surfaces, the delay in starting the egg bar and discharging, which increases contamination. The whole program / plan of long-term control has been developed. The cost-effectiveness of the product is the ratio of price and efficiency on an annual level. Eradication is the most economical method of controlling D. gallinae, which relieved farmers from all further costs. There is a great challenge for each type of D. gallinae control, especially the rational one. Reconsidering and further development of the approach of rational control is a way to improve the control of D. gallinae, which we want to encourage.

Abstract:
We consider the challenges and implications of controlling for school contextual bias when modeling teacher preparation program effects. Because teachers are not randomly distributed across schools, failing to account for contextual factors in achievement models could bias preparation program estimates. Including school fixed effects controls for school environment by relying on differences among student outcomes within the same schools to identify the program effects, but this specification may be unidentified. Using statewide data from Florida, we examine whether the inclusion of school fixed effects is feasible, compare the sensitivity of the estimates to assumptions underlying for fixed effects, and determine what their inclusion implies about the precision of the preparation program estimates. We discuss the implications of our results on the feasibility, precision, and ranking of programs using the school fixed effect model for policy makers designing teacher preparation program evaluation systems.

Abstract:
Purpose. To identify the organizational and professional correlates of the integration of the ecological approach in Canadian public health organizations' tobacco control programs for youth. Design. Cross-sectional survey. Setting. Canadian public health organizations. Subjects. One hundred and ten tobacco control programs implemented in 90 organizations. The response rate for the organizations was 87%. Measures. Descriptions of programs were obtained by telephone interviews. An analytical procedure was applied to the program data to identify intervention settings, targets and strategies for each program. Using this information, a summary score of the integration of the ecological approach was estimated for each program. Organizational and professional variables were assessed by self-administered questionnaires to managers and professionals involved in these programs. Results. The level of integration of the ecological approach in programs was related to organizational (frequency of contacts and collaborations with external partners, team composition) and extraorganizational factors (size of the city in which the public health unit is located). Cognitive attributes of the practitioners (knowledge and beliefs) also emerged as significant predictors. Finally, positive associations were observed between practitioners' personal characteristics (educational achievement, working status in health promotion [full vs. part-time], previous experience, gender, and disciplinary/professional background) and cognitive predictors. Conclusions. Organizational environment and staff preparation play a critical role in the adoption of the ecological approach in tobacco control programs.

Abstract:
Hair loss is the shedding of hair from the skin. The factor that causes hair loss is a lack of nutrition for hair growth. Pure coconut oil (VCO) and citronella oil contain saturated fatty acids with short and medium chains of carbon atoms, especially octanoic acid and decanoic acid and essential oils which can be used to nourish hair. The aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness of the combination of citronella oil and VCO oil as a hair-fertilizing oil. This research was carried out using experimental methods including collecting and identifying samples, evaluating oil preparations, then testing hair-fertilizing oil preparations on 3 rabbits which were divided into 6 groups, namely positive control, negative control, formula 1, formula 2, formula 3 and formula 4. Data on the percentage of hair growth length were analyzed using the ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) method using the SPSS (Statistical Program for the Social Sciences) program. The results of the preparation evaluation showed that the oil preparation was stable during storage. The results showed that hair growth on day 28 with the positive control was 8.3 mm, negative control 4.17 mm, F1 4.83 mm, F2 5.17 mm, F3 6.33 mm and F4 7.83 mm. Duncan's test on day 28 showed that the positive control was not significantly different from formula 4, but was significantly different from formula 1, formula 2 and formula 3.

Abstract:
Perfused mammalian skeletal muscle preparations either in vitro or in situ are one of the options to be considered when planning a physiological research program or project. Such preparations have been and continue to be used to investigate research questions as diverse as skeletal muscle function and metabolism, peripheral vascular function, and an approximation of exercise. When selecting a perfused muscle preparation, both anatomical and physiological organization must be evaluated in the context of the planned experiment. In any experiment, a number of physiologically significant variables can be manipulated, such as the level of flow and the arterial or inflow concentration of a gas or substance to control substrate supply and metabolite removal as well as the stimulation parameters to alter metabolic rate. The choice of blood or an artificial perfusate is of paramount importance because, when compared to blood-perfused preparations, those receiving artificial perfusates show depressed vascular autoregulation among other changes, indicating a decrease in physiological quality. Overall, perfused skeletal muscle preparations can be used to examine many and varied research questions with close to in-vivo quality and a high degree of accuracy and control if blood-perfused. Keywords: choice of preparation, experimentally controllable variables, evaluation of preparations, pressure-flow autoregulation, flow-independent oxygen uptake

Abstract We prepared several serum batches with various cholesterol concentrations, to be used as calibrators and controls in a proficiency testing program of an organization in The Netherlands that is in charge of the standardization of cholesterol determinations for epidemiological purposes. The sera were of human origin, to avoid abnormal matrix effects. To decrease the cholesterol content in some samples, we adsorbed them onto colloidal silicic acid. To increase it, we added lipoproteins that had been precipitated from human serum with heparin and calcium ions. The precipitation method we used allowed us to dilute the serum as little as possible and to keep the final concentrations of calcium and heparin as low as possible, while maintaining a high cholesterol content. By mixing these sera having high and low cholesterol concentrations, we could prepare batches with any desired concentration. The stabilities of these sera were excellent. We used the sera to calibrate enzymic determinations of cholesterol.

The preparation of learning implementation plans is very important, because good learning management greatly influences the preparation of learning implementation plans according to indicators. The advantage of CLCK is that teachers are given examples in making lesson plans and after that they practice with the principal and the activities carried out do not depend on others. To overcome this, it is necessary to strive for CLCK coaching (Examples, Training, Control, Independent Work) in the RPP preparation program to improve teacher competence. Teachers who are classified as very active are 2 people or 25% and classified as less active are 4 people or 75%, based on the results of observations in cycle I. The advantages of cycle I - 2 teachers are very active based on the analysis of observations. Weaknesses of cycle I, while 4 people were less active based on observations, especially on aspects of teacher interaction with school principals, group collaboration, activities in group discussions so that it was continued in cycle II, regarding the CLCK Guidance Model in the RPP Preparation Program at SDN Rebawa 3 District Free Pasuruan Regency. Abstract:
The Project P.A.T.H.S. (Positive Adolescent Training through Holistic Social Programs) is a positive youth development program that attempts to promote holistic development in adolescents in Hong Kong. In the Tier 2 Program of this project, social workers are expected to develop positive youth development programs for adolescents having greater psychosocial needs. They are required to submit proposals that will be evaluated in terms of whether the proposals are evidence based, and appropriate evaluation mechanisms are included. With reference to the literature on parental control processes that Chinese parents may be loose in their behavioral control and they tend to overemphasize academic excellence, it is argued that improvement of the parenting skills of parents of Chinese adolescents is an important area to be addressed. To facilitate social workers to prepare the related proposals, a sample proposal on how to improve the parenting skills of Chinese parents is described, including its conceptual framework, proposed program, and evaluation plan. It is argued that this supportive approach (i.e., preparation of a sample proposal) can help social workers to develop quality proposals on positive youth development programs in Hong Kong.

Abstract:
A reliable and validated set of food safety behavior questions that could be used with confidence when evaluating food safety education programs was identified in this study. A list of 29 food-handling and consumption behaviors rank-ordered within five pathogen control factors by nationally recognized food safety experts was the basis for the development of the behavior questions. Questions were evaluated for reliability and several forms of validity. During a kitchen activity session, 70 graduates of a nutrition education program completed four food preparation tasks while being observed and videotaped. The individuals also participated in an in-depth interview to validate behaviors that could not be observed during the food preparation activity, e.g., refraining from preparing food for others when experiencing diarrhea. Criterion validity was established by comparing questionnaire responses to observed behavior and interview responses. Twenty-eight questions met the validity criterion (≥70% agreement between observed and interviewed responses and self-reported responses), with three or more questions from each of five pathogen control factor areas. Observation assessments revealed that hand washing was more likely to be performed prior to beginning food preparation than between working with raw meats and fresh produce. Errors in methods of washing hands, utensils, and preparation surfaces between food preparation tasks were common. Most participants did not use thermometers to evaluate doneness but still cooked to safe internal temperatures. The results provide a tool that educators can use to evaluate food safety programs and will help guide the development of more effective food safety education programs targeting needed improvements in behavioral skills.

Abstract:
Purpose – This community service program is motivated by the need for strategic and technical knowledge and skills from MSMEs participating in business incubation under the Government of Mojokerto City. With the local government’s vision to create a business that strengthens the community’s economy, MSMEs must have sufficient knowledge in managing their business. Yet, the government's current identification shows a lack of managerial knowledge of the MSMEs. For this reason, this community service program proposes a solution to this issue by developing management control skills for micro, small, and medium enterprises in Mojokerto City in partnership with the Office of Cooperatives, SMEs, Industry, and Trade of the Mojokerto City. Design/methodology/approach – The program’s design includes three stages: preparation of materials, conduction of training, and publication of results. Material preparation consists of the preparation of training materials and handbook drafts, which will then become one of the outputs of this program. Meanwhile, the activities’ implementation consists of pre-tests, training material provision, and post-tests after activities. The results publication stage comprises processing, analyzing, and presenting training results data and finalizing the handbook. Findings – The goals of this program are concluded successful in achieving the intended outcomes. The training program for MSMEs demonstrates that knowledge of management control tools is key to their application in business processes. Furthermore, another important key is understanding SMEs’ benefits and perceived ease in using specific tools. It shows that holding similar training on business management strengthening is crucial for MSMEs to encourage increased performance through more professional management practices. Originality/value – This paper is novel and original to the best knowledge of the authors since the training program on management control was the first held in the local government of Mojokerto City.

Abstract:
Background: Older adult patients often experience delayed postoperative recovery due to a lack of self-efficacy in engaging in physical activities during early rehabilitation. Concurrently, family caregivers play a crucial role in caring for older adults. However, the extent of family involvement in improving self-efficacy and facilitating recovery following major abdominal surgeries in older adults remains largely unexplored. Objective: This study aimed to examine the effect of a preoperative preparation program on the recovery of older patients undergoing major abdominal surgeries. Methods: A quasi-experimental study with a two-group, pretest-posttest design was conducted. The participants included 60 older adult patients undergoing abdominal surgeries at Thammasat University Hospital, Thailand, between September 2019 and March 2020. Participants were selected by purposive sampling with the inclusion criteria and were assigned to the experimental (n = 30) or the control (n = 30) groups using matched pair according to the type of operation. The control group received standard care, while the intervention group underwent a two-week preoperative preparation program developed based on self-efficacy theory and family support. Data were collected using validated tools. Recovery was assessed at one week and two weeks after surgery. Descriptive statistics, as well as dependent and independent t-tests, were used for data analysis. Results: The results revealed that the intervention group had significantly higher mean recovery scores than the control group at one week (M = 56.93, SD = 16.42; M = 44.60, SD = 16.30, t = -2.92, df = 58, p <0.01) and two weeks after surgery (M = 66.64, SD = 8.63; M = 61.68, SD = 7.86, t= -2.33, df = 58, p <0.05) when comparing between the two groups. Conclusion: The preoperative preparation program effectively enhanced recovery one week and two weeks after surgery. The study findings can be valuable for nurses in implementing the preoperative preparation program to facilitate recovery among older adult patients undergoing abdominal surgeries.

Abstract:
A global epidemiological surveillance system is needed both for verification of the 1925 Geneva Protocol and as a confidence-building measure for the 1972 Biological Weapons Convention (BWC). This proposal should be part of the agenda of the Fourth Review Conference of the BWC, with preliminary consideration and analysis conducted at the national level and by appropriate international expert groups in preparation for the Review Conference. An example of the kind of program that might be constructed is described. Such a program would make it very difficult for hostile use of biological agents to remain undetected, would catalyze a dramatic increase in global public, agricultural, and veterinary health, and would offer reasonable assurance that emerging diseases would be detected at an early stage. These benefits easily justify the expenditures that would be required.

Abstract:
This mixed methods study explored the impact of a collaborative experience on perceptions of school librarian candidates (SLCs) and preservice teacher candidates (PTCs) as they worked to integrate technology into lesson plans effectively. The group under investigation consisted of 83 PTCs in the teacher preparation program who were enrolled in selected sections of a required technology course and graduate students in a School of Library and Information Science preparation program at the same institution. Forty of the PTCs were part of the control group and 43 were in the treatment group, which received collaborative support from the SLCs. One important finding is that PTCs perceived SLCs as valuable resources for integrating technologies, particularly for designing lesson plans that integrated technology. Additionally, both PTCs and SLCs realized the importance of teacher-librarian collaboration (TLC) in their future campus roles. A key recommendation is for teacher education programs to embed opportunities for TLC experiences for improving PTCs’ technology integration and lesson planning.

Abstract:
This study aimed to confirm the impact of a career guidance course on the career preparation of nursing students. The study used a non-equivalent control group pre-post experimental design. The participants were 57 first-year students from a nursing college in W city, with 28 in the experimental group undergoing a career guidance elective and 29 in the control group not taking the course. Career preparation was assessed in terms of career decision-making level, career preparation behavior, and career decision-making self-efficacy. Data were collected from March to June 2024, with surveys administered before and after the 15-week course. The career guidance program was provided to the experimental group. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS 26.0, including frequencies, percentages, means, standard deviations, paired t-tests, and independent t-tests. The results showed that students who underwent the career guidance course had significant improvements in career decision-making, career preparation behavior, and career decision-making self-efficacy. Comparing the two groups, there were no significant differences in career decision-making, but significant differences were observed in career preparation behavior and career decision-making self-efficacy. Thus, to enhance nursing students' career preparation, it is necessary to develop and implement educational programs within the nursing curriculum that improve career decision-making, career preparation behavior, and self-efficacy. Moreover, it is recommended that such courses be actively developed and expanded to improve career readiness.

Abstract:
Companies are facing a growing demand for small-scale production of ship components. This increases the relevance of production systems that optimize the production time of complex products. Automatic generation of individual blocks of CNC programs opens up great opportunities to accelerate and improve the preparation of production of complex and especially small-scale orders, such as the manufacture of Troost screws of various configurations. This study is devoted to the creation of blocks of CNC programs based on the parameters provided by product configuration systems. Various approaches to the pre-production process are described and characterized. It is shown that the direct transfer of parameters to the CNC program can be fully automated, but is limited by the geometry of the manufactured part, which can be obtained using parametric processing cycles. In order to determine the most appropriate procedure for generating a program for a specific case, a solution methodology was developed. An approximate implementation is presented, showing the possibilities of automated generation of CNC programs in the production of Troost screw parts. It is established that when choosing the optimal method of generating a program for a CNC machine in the manufacture of a Troost screw, the amount of ROM memory required can be reduced by 10.86 times. The processing time is reduced by 1.07 times, or 39 minutes

Abstract:
Background This study was conducted to assess how students’ disaster literacy was affected by the Disaster Medicine Clinical Training Program at the Izmir Democracy University Faculty of Medicine (IDUFM) during the academic year 2022–2023. Methods Using an experimental method involving experimental and control groups, measurements were made at different times. The sample consisted of 5th-year students at IDUFM for the experimental group, while the control group was composed of 3rd- and 4th-year students from different buildings with limited interaction with the experimental group. The clinical training program was organized to improve the clinical practice skills of students in the field of disaster medicine and provide theoretical information. Throughout their internship, the students were provided with a program including information on types of disasters, preparation, response, relief, emergency surgical procedures, hospital disaster plans, national and international organizations and institutions working in disasters, and other relevant topics. The Disaster Literacy Scale (DLS) was used to collect data. This scale is a self-report scale that was developed to evaluate knowledge levels about disasters. In this study, the scale was applied as a pretest and a posttest, and the obtained data were analyzed using independent samples and paired-sample t-tests. Result The DLS scores of the experimental group showed significant improvement after the training program compared to their pretest scores (Total Scale: p < 0.001, Damage Mitigation: p = 0.002, Preparation: p < 0.001, Response: p < 0.001, and Relief: p = 0.004). When comparing the posttest results of the experimental group with the control group, the experimental group demonstrated significantly higher scores in Total Scale (p = 0.01), Damage Mitigation (p = 0.02), Response (p = 0.03), and Relief (p < 0.001). However, no significant differences were observed between the experimental group’s pretest (T1) scores and the control group’s posttest (T3) scores (p > 0.05p > 0.05p > 0.05), indicating that the knowledge levels of the experimental and control groups were homogeneous prior to the training intervention. These findings confirm the effectiveness of the Disaster Medicine Training Program in improving disaster literacy and response skills among medical students. Conclusion This study, which aimed to determine the effects of the Disaster Medicine Clinical Training Program on the disaster literacy of medical students, revealed that the program increased the literacy levels of the students and contributed to their responsible decision-making. It is thought that such education programs can make significant contributions to the effective management of healthcare services in disaster situations.

For more than 20 years, the FHWA has required that underwater inspection of bridges be performed at least every 5 years. Over that period, departments of transportation and other bridge owners have either developed in-house underwater inspection teams or hired outside consultants to perform this work. Ensuring that the inspections are conducted properly and accurately is critical. To this end, several policies and procedures can be implemented as quality control measures in an underwater inspection program. Selecting a properly trained inspection team, ensuring proper preparation before diving operations, conducting independent inspections, and looking at deterioration trends are several ways to ensure quality in underwater inspections.

Abstract:
Introduction Occupational therapy programs include practice education, which is a vital aspect of professional practice preparation. We evaluated the effectiveness of the Community–Academia Student Tutoring program for enhancing occupational therapy students’ perceived readiness for their practice placement, thus reducing their feelings of anxiety. Method The study included 84 first-year undergraduate occupational therapy students aged 21–35 years, of whom 43 participated in the Community–Academia Student Tutoring group program and the rest comprised the control group. Participants completed the Student Self-Competency and Readiness for Fieldwork questionnaire prior to their first practice placement. Findings Anxiety was related to the Student Self-Competency and Readiness for Fieldwork’s components and total score. The Community–Academia Student Tutoring group scored significantly higher ( p < .05) than the controls in the Evaluation and Communication with Patients components of the questionnaire, after controlling for anxiety level. Implications It appears that it is possible to enhance students’ readiness for their practice placement through a structured and intensive community-based mentoring program that is guided by faculty and includes activities of briefing and debriefing, such as the Community–Academia Student Tutoring program.

Abstract:
Hazards and critical control points (CCP) associated with meat balls and kibbe preparations in a hospital kitchen were determined using flow diagrams and microbiological testing of samples collected along the production line. Microbiological testing included counts of mesophilic and psicrothrophic microorganisms, yeasts and molds, total and fecal coliforms, C. perfringens, coagulase positive staphylococci, bacteria of the B. cereus group and detection of Salmonella. Time/temperature binomial was measured in all steps of preparation. A decision tree was used to help in the determination of CCPs. The detected hazards were: contamination of raw meat and vegetables, multiplication of the microorganisms during meat manipulation, poor hygiene of utensils and equipment, and survival of microorganisms to the cooking process. Cooking and hot-holding were considered CCPs. The results stress the importance of the implementation of a training program for nutricionists and foodhandlers and the monitoring of CCPs and other measures to prevent foodborne diseases.

Abstract:
In-situ experiments conducted within a transmission electron microscope provide the operator a unique opportunity to directly observe microstructural phenomena, such as phase transformations and dislocation-precipitate interactions, “as they happen”. However, in-situ experiments usually require a tremendous amount of experimental preparation beforehand, as well as, during the actual experiment. In most cases the researcher must operate and control several pieces of equipment simultaneously. For example, in in-situ deformation experiments, the researcher may have to not only operate the TEM, but also control the straining holder and possibly some recording system such as a video tape machine. When it comes to in-situ fatigue deformation, the experiments became even more complicated with having to control numerous loading cycles while following the slow crack growth. In this paper we will describe a new method for conducting in-situ fatigue experiments using a camputer-controlled tensile straining holder. The tensile straining holder used with computer-control system was manufactured by Philips for the Philips 300 series microscopes. It was necessary to modify the specimen stage area of this holder to work in the Philips 400 series microscopes because the distance between the optic axis and holder airlock is different than in the Philips 300 series microscopes. However, the program and interfacing can easily be modified to work with any goniometer type straining holder which uses a penrmanent magnet motor.

Abstract:
Objective: To evaluate effectiveness of a community- based preparedness program for flash floodsDesign: A controlled community intervention trial with preassessment and postassessment.Setting: Fifteen intervention villages and 16 control villages in Golestan province of IranParticipants: People more than six years of age.Intervention: Intervention program consisted assembling Village Disaster Taskforces (VDTs), training of VDTs and community, evacuation drill, and program monitoring.Main outcome measures: Individual participation in household preparedness actions including, preparedness meeting, risk mapping, preparation of emergency supplies, assisting vulnerable people, and evacuation drill. Results: Our intervention improved preparedness of local community for flash floods in term of all interested outcome measures. For instance, adjusted odds ratio for participation in an evacuation drill in intervention area in postassessment compared with preassessment was 29.05 (95% confidence interval [CI]: 21.77-38.76), whereas in control area it was 2.69 (95% CI: 1.96-3.70). Difference in these odds ratios was statistically significant (p 0.001). Participation in a family preparedness meeting and risk mapping were helpful in motivating individuals to take other preparedness actions. Women were found prepared as much as the men.Younger people showed lower participation in preparation of family emergency supplies but higher attendance in evacuation drills. Participation in evacuation drills decreased with increasing age. It was a positive association between risk perception and taking all preparedness actions. Conclusion: Flood preparedness programs should focus on participatory risk assessment and preparedness techniques, strive to improve risk perception and female capabilities, and ensure providing assistance to the older people during evacuation.

Abstract:
A new methodology to generate instruction commands for real-time machine control instead of preparing NC programs is developed under the CAM-CNC integration concept. A machine tool based on this methodology can eliminate NC program preparation, achieve cutting process control, reduce production lead time, and realize an autonomous distributed factory. The special feature of this methodology is the generation of instruction commands in real time for the prompt machine control instead of NC programs. Digital Copy Milling (DCM), which digitalizes copy milling, is realized by referring only to the CAD model of the product. Another special feature of this methodology is the control of the tool motion according to the information predicted by a cutting force simulator. This feature achieves both the improvement in the machining efficiency and the avoidance of machining trouble. In this study, the customized end milling operation of a dental artificial crown is realized as an application using the new methodology mentioned above. In this application, the CAM operation can be eliminated for the NC program generation, and tool breakage can be avoided based on the tool feed speed control from the predicted cutting force. The result shows that the new methodology has good potential to achieve customized manufacturing, and can realize both high productivity and reliable machining operation.

Abstract:
Young farmer group Putra Mandiri Sejahtera (PMS) in Sambirejo Village, Selomartani, Kalasan, is actively involved in organic farming. Their vision is to advance agriculture through extension programs, training, mentoring, and cultivating food crops by implementing agricultural innovation technology. The challenges they often face are larval pests that attack many crops, which are difficult to overcome. Efforts that can be made are providing techniques for the identification of larval pests and their biological agent, preparing fungal biopesticides, and applying control methods by technical culture. Stages in these activities include (1) an extension program on the identification of pests and their biological agent, (2) training on fungal biopesticide preparation, and (3) mentoring and monitoring of the farmers’ activities by applying pre-and post-test. The community service results demonstrated that the extension program on larval pest identification had improved the farmers’ understanding by 72.22% and increased their willingness to learn further. The following training on fungal biopesticide preparation showed that the farmers’ skills improved by 95.24%, despite the fact that the remaining 4.76% of the farmers required more training to achieve more confidence. In addition, it was also found that 57.14% of the farmers stated they had mastered the biopesticide preparation, while the remaining 42.85% of the farmers required further training and mentoring. The output of this extension program was two types of fungal biopesticides, Beauveria sp. and Metarrhizium sp., produced by the young farmer group Putra Mandiri Sejahtera (PMS).

Abstract:
Few point prevalence surveys (PPS) have been conducted in Vietnam on Surgical Site Infections (SSI) or antimicrobial use in surgery. The objective of this study was to evaluate the PPSs of SSI before and after implementation of antibiotic stewardship programs (ASP) and infection control (IC) in a Vietnamese tertiary care hospital. ASP and IC practices were implemented in operating rooms and the orthopedic department, including antibiotic training, skin preparation, hand hygiene, gloves and sterile instruments, and SSIs risk factors. A PPS of SSIs and antimicrobial use was performed in January 2016 according to methods from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, before ASP and IC, and in December 2019. Information recorded included surgical data, antibiotic prophylaxis, microorganisms, and SSI risk factors. Skin preparation compliance assessed preoperative washing and antisepsis. SSI prevalence was 7.8% in 2016 versus 5.4% in 2019 (p = 0.7). The use of prophylactic antibiotics decreased from 2016 to 2019. A third-generation cephalosporin was prescribed more than 48 h after surgery for most patients. Skin preparation compliance increased from 54.4% to 70.5% between assessments. The decreased SSI, although non-statistically significant, warrants continuing this program. Vietnamese hospitals must provide comprehensive IC education to healthcare workers to address the prevention of SSI and establish IC policies.

Abstract:
Teacher preparation programs assist candidates with the pedagogical, theoretical, and practical application of teaching and learning. This article explored the dialog between a state education agency and teacher preparation programs’ responses to the COVID-19 pandemic. The author presents a research study of current teacher performance expectations (TPEs), online readiness, and the design of distance learning in pre-service teacher clinical practice. The participants are 10 current pre-service teachers. The researcher collected data from fieldwork supervisors, observations, and survey results from participants. Kolb’s experiential theory was used in the analysis of co-requisite policy and observations of field experiences of students in a teacher education program. The article analyzed data that suggested that in-person observations and opportunities to practice classroom instruction contribute to teacher readiness and relationship building in comparison to online learning. Furthermore, states will have to re-assess their teacher certification requirements, quality control efforts, and mandatory exams since COVID-19, which may lead to the reauthorization of the pre-service guidelines. Program learning outcomes and critical assignments that allow candidates to demonstrate content knowledge and instructional delivery are being compromised. The finding were that pre-service candidates did not have the opportunity to demonstrate mastery of specific teacher performance expectations within the distance learning format. This article aims to encourage further research teacher education and distance learning to discuss potential alternatives to certification and creative ways to embed flexibility into teacher preparation. Substantial changes can lower the quality of a program and significantly decrease effectiveness while increasing data misrepresentation. Distance learning can potentially limit quality supervision and teacher mentoring. In addition, pre-service teachers will enter classrooms with substantially fewer clinical practice hours.

Abstract:
Abstract: In 1953, Archbishop Edward F. Hoban established Borromeo Seminary, which allowed the Diocese of Cleveland to control all facets of its priestly formation program. Students would move from Borromeo to Saint Mary Seminary and on to ordination. At the height of their enrollment, the seminaries were educating more students than there were priests ministering in the diocese. However, declining numbers through the 1970s and 1980s forced the diocese to reconsider the costs and benefit of maintaining two campuses. When Bishop Anthony Pilla contracted a consulting firm to conduct a feasibility study, the firm recommended closure of both facilities and moving the entire priestly formation program to Sacred Heart Seminary in Detroit. Although this proposal was rejected, it forced the Presbyteral Council of the diocese to determine how to keep both programs at home. The result was a new model for ministry training that was more resilient and responsive to the needs of the local church.

Abstract:
This research aims to determine the effect of Human Resources, Information Technology, and Internal Control System on budget preparation by considering external factors as moderating variables. The focus of this research is the planning staff at Lemdiklat Polri and its ranks, which include Lemdiklat Polri, 34 SPN, and 15 Pusdik. The method used in this study is quantitative, using the SmartPLS 4.0 program. Data were collected through a survey of 50 respondents of planning staff in Lemdiklat Polri and its ranks. The results showed that Human Resources had no significant effect on budget preparation. In contrast, Information Technology and Internal Control System have a significant influence on budgeting. However, external factors do not moderate the influence of the Internal Control System on budget preparation. The implications of this study include providing theoretical contributions that show that the effectiveness of Information Technology and the strength of the Internal Control System are significant in the budgeting process. Practically, the results of this study provide recommendations to Lemdiklat Polri to further optimize the use of information technology and strengthen the internal control system to improve efficiency and accuracy in budget preparation.

Abstract:
This study examined the impact of the Abriendo Puertas parent education program among a large sample of low-income, Latino parents and caregivers of preschool children. In all, 922 parents were randomly assigned to the program ( n = 468) or a waitlist control group ( n = 454). Pretest data and posttest data (5-6 weeks postintervention) from parents (86.4% response rate) were collected from both the treatment and control groups. At each time point, parents reported on their knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors related to enhancing their children’s school readiness. Confirmatory factor analyses were conducted to assess the factorial validity of each survey scale, and path analyses were conducted to compare the outcomes of the treatment and control groups. In addition, to assess fade-out of program affects among treatment parents, follow-up data were collected 3 months postintervention. Intent-to-treat analyses found that, compared with the control group, the treatment group adopted parenting practices that enhanced preschool children’s preparation for school, gained knowledge about high-quality early child care and education settings, improved their ability to set goals for their children, and gained an appreciation for their role as models for their children. No differences were found between the control and treatment groups on parenting practices related to emotional expression, parental advocacy, or healthy behaviors. Results indicate that the Abriendo Puertas program improved parents’ and caregivers’ knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors. Results of this evaluation help build the evidence base on culturally relevant parenting programs for Latino parents of preschoolers.

Abstract:
A focus group session, using the Theory of Planned Behavior to guide questions and discussion, was conducted at midpoint of a 12-month cooking skills program in a rural Appalachian food desert. The purpose of this qualitative study was to determine the attitudes, subjective norms and perceived behavioral control beliefs that influenced participation in these classes. Participants viewed the classes as opportunities for social interaction and to have new experiences. Subjective norms were influenced by family members and traditional cooking. Perceived behavioral control was influenced by the opportunity to try new foods without concern of food waste, acquisition of the knowledge to introduce healthy foods into family meals and enhanced food preparation skills. During the evaluation, a strong sense of participant appreciation of researcher presence was discovered. This unexpected positive component of the program will be promoted using motivational interviewing techniques to enhance adherence to healthy eating behaviors during and after cooking skills programs.
