The main task of nutrition for athletes is the optimal and timely replenishment of energy consumption, as well as plastic and biologically active substances consumed during intense muscular activity, therefore it should be clearly differentiated depending on the type of sport and the stage of preparation of the athlete. The need for nutrients depends on anthropometric parameters, gender, age, individual metabolic characteristics associated with genetic factors, the period of sports activity, the duration and intensity of physical activity, as well as environmental conditions.
