Abstract:
Questions have appeared on the microscopy listserver about how to prepare bacteria for SEM. This is an easy problem to solve, the greatest difficulty being preserving flagellae or pili. There are several references in basic EM texts, but briefly the bacteria can be treated as if they are small tissue samples, or negative staining samples for TEM. Details like of time in solutions, transition series, etc. will depend on the particular bacteria under study, and some trial and error will likely be needed. The procedures given here should give a reasonable starting point.

Abstract:
The advent of information technology and the required information at the finger tips by using search engines writing an article is not that much difficult as it before. Hence, the author should be very careful in preparing a manuscript, citing the references, preparing an abstract and a good title, otherwise the article is likely to be rejected by the publishers. If the title is heart, abstract is the soul then eyes and ears are references and reviews. Title is a most important part of an article because it is a gateway to the content of a research article. A good title to the research article is the one which is able to focus the research work to the fullest extent. Likewise, an abstract is like a trailer and should give stimulation to the reader to go through the entire article. On the other than if the reader is unimpressed with the information in the abstract the reader will never read the article and the very purpose of publishing an article is nullified. A good abstract should be honest, trustworthy and summary of the manuscript with a continuity of thoughts. The purpose of references in any article is to identify and locate the source of information used for justifying the need for conducting the research work. While citing the references the author should take into account by giving the relevant citations in an appropriate manner as desired by the editorial board of the Journals. The other obligatory on the part of an author of an article is he should satisfy not only the editorial board of any Journal but also the peer reviewers whose comments are necessary for publication. Peer Review is an important element in the research process before publication and this review makes the road either to publish or to reject the article. It is important for the author while submitting the manuscript to prepare a covering letter and it should contain why this article is important to the journal and its readers. The author while preparing the manuscript should follow the ethics according to the nature and subject matter. The author should be careful in choosing the relevant subject the source of information, preparing right title, scripting good abstract and finally an acceptable manuscript.

The Wiltshire Committee's Review of the Queensland School Curriculum produced some surprises. One of these was for teacher educators. The Committee had not originally intended to investigate the preparation of teachers, yet several recommendations were made. The Wiltshire group say that practising teachers made so many adverse references to the quality of their preservice training that comment and recommendation were justified. The committee's recommendations are interesting in that they focus quite heavily on the links that might exist between teacher preparation on campus and teacher preparation in schools.

Abstract:
During the past decade, there has been a revolution in the availability of multi-wavelength astronomical surveys. From the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) to the NRAO VLA Sky Survey (NVSS), astronomical research based on publicly accessible datasets is becoming standard practice in the community. Beginning with the Infrared Astronomical Satellite (IRAS) mission, infrared surveys have played a critical role in stellar astronomy by identifying cool and dusty stars worthy of spectroscopic characterization. IRAS' four photometric bands at 12, 25, 60, and 100 μm were ideal for detecting dusty circumstellar material. All-sky surveys like IRAS reveal the brightest members of each class of rare objects, optimizing their follow-up strategy. The case of debris disks around main sequence stars demonstrates this utility. IRAS detected dust disks around four nearby stars, Beta Pictoris, Fomalhaut, Epsilon Eridani, and Vega. The “Fabulous Four” remain the best studied debris disks, despite hundreds of additional examples discovered by the Spitzer Space Telescope. In the nearly 30 years since IRAS was launched, its highly reliable catalog of just 250000 sources, modest by modern standards, with arcminute scale resolution and 0.3 - 1 Jy sensitivity, has generated over 10,000 references in ADS. This is a success story by any measure.

Abstract In this section of the symposium, I will talk about manuscript preparation for maximizing the likelihood that your work will be sent for review. I will talk about common author errors that usually guarantee an immediate reject decision such as not reading and following the Instructions to Authors. I will emphasize the importance of plain, good writing. Editors of high impact journals receive 10 or more new manuscripts per week, and due to limited page space, have to reject 80-90% of them. Regardless of scholarly quality, if the point and contribution are not clear in a quick scan of the paper, it likely will not be reviewed favorably. I will provide tips for strong scientific writing that are commonly violated in manuscript submissions, and provide references for additional writing support.

The analyzes carried out on the teaching of pedagogy in the L19 degree programs show how the different core contents are declined according to modalities that vary according to the locations and references and belonging to the different schools of thought. The advanced interpretative hypothesis is that some differences are attributable to an idea of formation that can be traced back to the thought of authors such as Giovanni Gentile, John Dewey, and Martha C. Nussbaum. The goal is to show how theories and models in use in the different contexts involved, despite the different theoretical references, can contribute to the construction of a core curriculum suitable for those preparing to work as education and training professionals as long as measure the educational objectives and learning outcomes defined by the core content model defined in the framework of the TecoD Pedagogy project

Abstract:
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to explore how home reading practices can impact what teachers assume to be the optimum practice in preparing students for school may not be supported by the local culture. In Kuwait, I have heard teachers repeatedly complain that students do not read at home or seem to value reading. Kuwaiti adults relate that they rarely engage in reading for pleasure. Students here are challenged with learning English, but also seem to take a greater amount of time to understand the use of reading in their lives and learning. These factors led me to consider that what teachers assume to be the optimum practice in preparing students for school may not be supported by the local culture. Design/methodology/approach – In this case study, five nannies were interviewed focusing on participants’ reading practices in their homes of origin and those practiced with Kuwaiti children. Observational notes were taken to record nonverbal communication. Data were analyzed to uncover references to home reading practices such as storytelling, recreational reading and verbal interaction based on the reading. References were color coded and a database was constructed of references the nannies made to reading practices both in their homes of origin and in the Kuwaiti homes in which they work. The references to reading practices were then categorized according to activities reported. Findings – As a result, it was found that the nannies perceived the purpose of reading to be for education only, storytelling is used for different purposes in different cultures, print material were rarely found in the homes of the nannies due to lack of economic means, and the fathers of most of the nannies were critical in their reading development. Research limitations/implications – Further exploration of the home reading practices of the Kuwaitis is needed to fully support the effective inclusion of their cultural reading traditions into school practice. Parent and student surveys, parent interviews and possibly home visits would assist researchers in more fully defining home reading practices. Partnering with Arabic-speaking or Kuwaiti teachers would benefit researchers in being able to efficiently translate for the interviews and then discuss their observations, giving the researchers a more nuanced perspective of the findings. Originality/value – This paper offers an original view on a particular aspect of international education, namely, reading habits, and discusses the promotion of multicultural reading instruction in a more culturally responsive manner.

This paper highlights tips for the preparation of patient-oriented career development awards and provides references for grant-writing guidance. Patient-oriented research is defined as “research conducted with human subjects (or on material of human origin such as tissues, specimens and cognitive phenomena) for which an investigator directly interacts with human subjects. This area of research includes: 1) mechanisms of human disease; 2) therapeutic interventions; 3) clinical trials, and; 4) the development of new technologies.”1

A finite element model of temperature field for plasma spraying preset MCrAlY coating during laser cladding was constructed using ANSYS parametric design language (APDL) in accordance to characteristics of preset laser cladding. Influencing laws of laser cladding parameters on temperature field were analyzed. Results show that laser power influences temperature field of cladding samples more than laser scanning speed. Experimental results agree well with simulation results, which prove the accuracy and reliability of the constructed calculation model of temperature field. Heating and cooling laws in the laser cladding process could be mastered through this calculation model. Research conclusions provide some references to optimization parameters in preparing high-performance laser cladding coatings.

Abstract:
The recrystallization behavior of high strength automobile steel sheets (ZJ590L) developed by CSP technology is studied in this paper. The effect of the deformation temperature, reduction on the austenite grain size and the recrystallized fraction of ZJ590L steel during hot deformation has been investigated. Technique of test and analysis includes preparing stepped test piece and quantitative metallograph. The mechanism of austenite microstructure refinement has been discussed, which provides valuable references to set parameters of controlled rolling and controlled cooling process. The analysis shows that the austenite grain size fines with the increase of deformation temperature and reduction, and the recrystallized fraction increases. When the deformation temperature is above 1000°C and reduction exceeds 40%, complete recrystallization can be obtained.

Abstract:
The English dramatist/director Howard Barker has, through a unique combination of style, content, theoretical argument and mise-en-scène, persistently countered conventional presumptions and propositions of the supposedly ‘natural’ diminutions or ‘inevitable’ restrictions whereby one might think, feel, speak, act, love and exist. His work offers a purposefully anti-naturalistic expansion of vocabulary: of language, terms of experience, scenic and physical expression, and being. This article presents an actor's account of preparing and playing a role, under Barker's direction, in a two-hander play, and offers a reading of the play's strategic dynamics based on these experiences, and of the characters' uses of self-conscious performances in order to sustain and subvert artifice, with references to Greenblatt's theories of theatrical charisma and eroticism, and Baudrillard's theories of seduction.

This paper presents guidelines for flow-induced vibration analysis of tubes and tube bundles such as those commonly encountered in steam generators, heat exchangers, condensers and nuclear fuel bundles. It was proposed as a nonmandatory code to be included in Section III Appendix N (N-1300 series) of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Boiler Code. In preparing this code, the authors tried to limit themselves to the better-defined flow excitation mechanisms—vortex-induced vibration, fluid-elastic instability and turbulence-induced vibration—and include only the more-established methods. References are, however, given for other methods whenever justified. This guideline covers only design analysis. A companion guideline on the testing and data analysis of heat exchanger tube banks was proposed as part of the ASME Code on Operations and Maintenance of Nuclear Plants. The latter is not included in this paper.

Abstract:
Cardiothoracic surgery residents often enter their training with fairly limited prior exposure to the field. Obviously, they need to master the essential knowledge and skills of the discipline during their training. In addition to following a didactic curriculum of one sort or another, much of the necessary knowledge and understanding will accrue from their experiences caring for and operating on the patients who will be under their auspices, not only during their formal training but also after they finish their training. Some of these cases and situations, such as elective cases, allow for careful preparation, while some more urgent or emergent cases require generic, advance preparation in order to be ready to perform optimally in these cases when they arise. And then there will always be cases for which one will not be able to prepare in any meaningful way, and these types of cases will require creativity and innovation “on the fly.” I will describe three cases, which are examples of each of these situations, with suggestions on how to handle each type of situation optimally. I will describe the preparation, such as it was for each, in some detail to help the reader understand how it felt to deal with each of these cases. The technical details of each of these cases resulted in a publication, which will be cited in the references, should the reader want to learn more about them.

Abstract:
The following “Observation” appeared (In Latin) in the Deutsche Akademie der Naturforscher Leopoldina of 1757 and to our knowledge has never been published in the English literature. We came across the report in the early 1970s while preparing the report “Cleft lip and cleft palate: one genetic system” (Chabora and Horowitz, 1974). The 1757 paper was translated by a member of the Columbia University Greek and Latin Department, but reached us too late for inclusion In our references. Forgotten for many years, the paper, and its translation, recently came to light in our files. Christopher Jacob Trew's clear description of penetrance and expressivity in a kindred in which both cleft lip and palate and isolated cleft palate are segregating may be something of an historic curiosity at this point, but we expect that others will enjoy reading this early example of a careful and thoughtful pedigree study.

Information on the preparation and characterization of heavy-atom derivatives of protein crystals has been collected, either from the literature or directly from protein crystallographers, and assembled in the form of a heavy-atom data bank (HAD). The data bank contains coordinate data for the heavy-atom positions in a form that is compatible with the crystallographic data in the Brookhaven Protein Data Bank, together with a wealth of information on the crystallization conditions, the nature of the heavy-atom reagent and references to relevant publications. Some statistical information derived from the data bank, such as the most popular heavy-atom derivatives, is also included. The information can be directly accessed and should be useful to protein crystallographers seeking to improve their success in preparing heavy-atom derivatives for the methods of isomorphous replacement and anomalous dispersion. Abstract:
In a culture marked by pluralism and relativism are evangelical Christian leaders with their faith-based conclusions intellectually strong? How do their assumptions about revealed knowledge affect their ability to solve important ill-structured (ambiguous and controversial) issues of life and ministry? The reflective judgment model and its semi-structured interview (RJI), based on 20 years of research, were used to assess the problem-solving ability of students preparing for ministry. The 38 male students were enrolled in an accredited seminary with an epistemology of revealed knowledge. Differences between entering and graduating students' RJI mean scores were not statistically significant, nor were their mean scores significant between religious and secular dilemmas. Further, students' scores did not decrease significantly as their references to faith increased. Recommendations for higher education are offered to help seminarians develop reflective judgment so they can adequately respond to ill-structured problems.

Abstract:
Why do we emphasize reflective practice so extensively in pre-service teacher education? What evidence do we have that frequent references to reflection are improving the quality of the teachers we prepare for certification and careers in teaching? Whatever reflection and reflective practice are, they are not ends in themselves; hopefully, they are means to the end of better teaching practices and better learning by students in schools. In this article I explore reflection and reflective practice from several perspectives, including my personal experiences as a teacher educator working with individuals preparing to become teachers of physics. The question asked in the title captures my fear that the ways teacher educators have responded to and made use of the concepts of reflection and reflective practice may be doing more harm than good in pre-service teacher education. To begin, I consider teacher education practices before and after the arrival of the term reflective practice. I then consider elements of Schön’s (1983) work and review five articles about reflective practice in teacher education; this is not a formal literature review, but rather an effort to show how virtually every article about reflective practice seems to be driven by its author’s personal perspective. The article continues with personal interpretations and illustrations and concludes with five generalizations about teacher education practices that indicate that much more work needs to be done if references to reflection are to do more good than harm in preservice teacher education programs.

Abstract:
This research is conducted with the aim to determine the ability of early childhood education teachers to use ICT in the industrial revolution 4.0. The qualitative method is used with data collection techniques in the form of surveys and data analysis using descriptive statistics. The subjects of the study were 26 early childhood education teachers in South Jakarta and Tangerang city. The results showed that early childhood education teachers are able to utilize information and communication technology for the sake of organizing educational development activities quite well. ICTs are used to find references, examples of learning media, look for examples of activities according to themes and sub themes, as well as preparing learning plans and assessments. Improvements need to be made in an effort to operate the computer to be better because there are still teachers who are awkward in interacting with computers because the ability to operate computers is not optimal and the lack of availability of computers in adequate numbers.

Abstract:
The growing volume of forensic handwriting examinations of handwritten requisites copies entails the need to determine the range of the most typical mistakes made by experts in examination of these objects. The article gives examples of the most common mistakes in expert reports, the origin of some is analyzed. The system of internal and external forms of peer review of the ENFSI (The European Network of Forensic Science Institutes) experts’ conclusions is reviewed. To avoid most of mistakes described in the article the author proposes to follow relevant methodological references, to pay close attention to the quality of the examined object, to adhere strictly to all intermediate stages of examination. Also, to use internal and external peer review of conclusions as a form of control more effectively. The information contained in the article can be of practical interest when both reviewing conclusions in state expert institutions and preparing a value judgement regarding an expert/specialist conclusion.

Abstract:
Bārgīrī is a New Persian term seemingly of transparent meaning: ‘the taking up of loads’. As such, it is listed by Steingass, with various special meanings ‘Conviction, criminal charge; taking-in of a ship's cargo’, none of which covers its full, or perhaps most important, semantic range. Moreover, the word is of note both for its relation to the nomadic life-style, and its interest to Orientalist scholarship. It seems worth collecting the references to provide a wider setting.Leyla Azami (sister of the Iranian folklorist, Cheragh Ali Azami), recently discussed the word in connexion with the transhumant life of the Sangsarī tribe in the south-eastern Elburz. Here it is defined as tahiya-i muqaddamāt-i safar ‘the preparation of the preliminaries for a journey’, events which take place ‘in the third decade of the month of Urdibihisht’—the second month of the Iranian calendar, April–May, when the pastoralists assemble, preparing for their move to high ground with the advent of spring.

Abstract:
The subject of alignment is not new to the world of education. Today however, it has come to mean different things and to have a heuristic value in education according to research in different areas, not least for neuroscience, and to attention to skills and to the alternation framework. This paper, after looking at the classic references that already attributed an important role to alignment in education processes, looks at the strategic role of alignment in the current context, outlining the shared construction processes and focusing on some of the ways in which this is put into effect.Alignment is part of a participatory, enactive approach that gives a central role to the interaction between teaching and learning, avoiding the limits of behaviourism, which has a greater bias towards teaching, and cognitivism/constructivism, which focus their attention on learning and in any case, on that which separates a teacher preparing the environment and a student working in it.

Abstract:
The review summarizes the various methods of preparing wholly aromatic polyamide–hydrazides (PAHs). Polyhydrazides are a class of polymers that possess in their repeating units one amide (–NHOC–) and one hydrazide (–CONHNHOC–) linking bond between appropriate aromatic nuclei. The review provides several figures of different molecular structures of PAH and expounds the methods of polymerization, low, high temperature, and phosphorylation polycondensation methods. Polyhydrazides exhibit some unique and potentially useful properties such as outstanding thermal and thermo-oxidative resistance, very high mechanical strength, and ultrahigh moduli. PAHs undergo structural transformation into poly(amide-1,3,4-oxadiazole)s upon heating, which are also considered highly thermally stable polymers. The review presents a description of the structure–property relation of PAHs. The application of PAHs in reverse osmosis applications has been discussed, as well as the preparation of fibers and metallized PAHs films. Modification of the PAH with carbon nanotubes and graphene and the future prospects for PAHs were introduced with comprehensive references pertaining to this area of research.

To the extent that The Club of Rome exerts any power, it is the power of ideas to more individuals, societies, and governments. And that is precisely what The Club of Rome has styled itself as acatalyst of ideas. (See references.)The members of The Club of Rome around the world represent no single social, political, economic, geographic, or ideological viewpoint. But they are united in the belief that the societies and governments can, and must, do a much better job of preparing themselves to deal effectively with the multiple crises that many agree are emerging on the global horizon.

Abstract:
The purpose of this review of clinical guidelines and best practices literature is to suggest prevention options and a treatment approach for intermittent catheter users that will minimize UTI. Recommendations are based both on evidence in the literature and an understanding of what is currently attainable within the Alberta context, through collaboration between both major tertiary care centres (Edmonton and Calgary) and between various professionals who regularly encounter these patients, including nursing, physiatry, and urology. Key references used to prepare this document included Canadian sources such as; SCIRE, along with the American Urological Association (AUA) and European Urological Association (EUA) documents on the topic and resources from Paralyzed Veterans of America. No details on neurogenic bladder management exist in the Canadian Urological Association list of publications. Finally, the impetus for preparing these protocols arose due to concerns identified by a survey of individuals with SCI regarding perceived gaps in knowledge and practice among caregivers and physicians about SCI and UTI prevention and management.

Abstract:
During the long LHC shutdown, ATLAS experiment is preparing several fundamental changes to its offline event processing framework and analysis model. These include moving to multi-threaded reconstruction and simulation and reducing data duplication during derivation analysis by producing a combined mini-xAOD stream. These changes will allow ATLAS to take advantage of the higher luminosity at Run 3 without overstraining processing and storage capabilities. They also require significant improvements to the underlying event store and the I/O framework to support them. These improvements include: 1) an overhaul of the Run 2 I/O framework to be thread-safe and minimize serial bottlenecks, 2) introduction of new immutable references for object navigation, which don’t rely on storage container entry number so data can be merged in-memory, 3) using filter decisions to annotate combined output stream to allow for fast event selection on input and 4) selecting optimized compression algorithms and settings to allow efficient reading of event selections.

Abstract:
The semi-dry flue gas desulfurization technology is widely used by coal-fired power plant. Desulfurization ash produced by semi-dry flue gas desulfurization, which consist CaSO3, CaCO3, Ca (OH) 2, CaSO4 and so on. It will bring new environment pollution if not been disposed properly. Building material industry is the main field in terms of the comprehensive utilization of desulfurization ash. While hazardous elements especial S and Hg may be released in the condition of temperature changes in the process of desulfurization ash utilization, causing second environment pollution. Combined with the research achievement of preparing autoclaved brick before, the content of S and Hg in raw materials and autoclaved brick were studied during the thermal utilization process in this article. The thermal stability of calcium sulfite was analyzed by the chemical reagent calcium sulfite. The results shown that calcium sulfite only lost crystal water whether in oxygen or air when the temperature is below 450°C, calcium sulfite was completely oxidized to calcium sulfate when the temperature is 475 °C in oxygen or 515°C in air. The contents of S and Hg which existed in desulfurization ash were 7.03%wt and 460μg/kg, respectively. The contents of S and Hg in autoclaved brick which made by desulfurization ash mainly were 5.16%wt and 450μg/kg, respectively. The results shown that the content of elements S and Hg in raw materials and autoclaved brick were roughly the same, which indicated that S and Hg no escape in the process of preparing autoclaved brick. The research provided a certain references for the comprehensive utilization of semi-dry flue gas desulfurization ash in the condition of heat and humid.

Abstract:
Dental implants are widely used in the field of oral restoration, but there are still problems leading to implant failures in clinical application, such as failed osseointegration, marginal bone resorption, and peri-implantitis, which restrict the success rate of dental implants and patient satisfaction. Poor osseointegration and bacterial infection are the most essential reasons resulting in implant failure. To improve the clinical outcomes of implants, many scholars devoted to modifying the surface of implants, especially to preparing different physical and chemical modifications to improve the osseointegration between alveolar bone and implant surface. Besides, the bioactive-coatings to promote the adhesion and colonization of ossteointegration-related proteins and cells also aim to improve the osseointegration. Meanwhile, improving the anti-bacterial performance of the implant surface can obstruct the adhesion and activity of bacteria, avoiding the occurrence of inflammation related to implants. Therefore, this review comprehensively investigates and summarizes the modifying or coating methods of implant surfaces, and analyzes the ossteointegration ability and anti-bacterial characteristics of emerging functional coatings in published references.

The review article describes the effects of the hastily implemented reform of school education. Its effects were monitored by researchers whose observations appeared in the volume Dilemmas of Polish Studies in the reformed primary school edited by Zofia Budrewicz and Danuta Łazarska, published as part of the Annales Universitatis Paedagogicae Cracovienesis. Authors from many academic centres address the topics of overcrowded high schools (the socalled effect of the double year), students overloaded with learning, return of rote learning, as well as the process of full centralisation in education management (no teachers’ participation in preparing reforms), or politicised programme changes and haste. The volume contains many texts that critically analyse the new core curriculum in the field of Polish language education. Repeated allegations include: anachronism, lack of autonomy in the choice of texts, deprivation of references to modern times, dominance of theoretical terminology, marginalisation of communication practice, etc. In addition, some of the dissertations contained in the publication are based on empirical research and examples of so-called good educational practices.

Abstract:
One of the demands of the 2013 curriculum is the use of a scientific approach to learning. The existence of this approach certainly requires adequate knowledge by the teacher about learning and its implementation in the classroom. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to describe the relationship of the five stages of the scientific approach (5M) with the syntax of several learning models (discovery/inquiry learning, based learning, project based learning). To answer these objectives, references and relevant research results are used through library studies. Analysis of the relationship of the five stages of the scientific approach to the syntax of the learning model is done by a structural approach. The results of the study indicate that the scientific approach can be used together with the learning model. The five stages of the scientific approach can be synchronized with the syntax of the existing learning model. The results of this study are the provision of knowledge for teachers in preparing learning plans and applying them in classroom learning. Key Words: Scientific Approach, Syntax, Doscovery Learning
