Este trabajo se propone analizar la variable presencia / ausencia del pronombre personal sujeto junto a un verbo conjugado en el español hablado de la comunidad urbana de Sevilla. En concreto, intentamos establecer cuáles son los factores internos y externos que determinan el empleo del sujeto pronominal en una muestra de 24 entrevistas semidirigidas correspondientes al sociolecto alto y que forman del corpus PRESEEA en la ciudad. Para ello, seguimos la guía de codificación propuesta por Bentivoglio, Ortiz y Silva-Corvalán (2011) para el proyecto panhispánico PRESEEA. Los resultados muestran que el pronombre sujeto se utiliza un 24,8%, y parece estar condicionado, entre otros, por criterios como persona gramatical, especificidad, ambigüedad de la forma verbal, clase semántica del verbo, correfencialidad, edad, etc. This study aims to analysis the variable presence/absence of the personal pronoun subject with a conjugated verb in Spanish language spoken in the city of Seville. Specifically, we try to stablish which internal or external factors are involved in the pronominal subject use in a sample of 24 semi-controlled interviews corresponding to the high sociolect and taken from the PRESEEA-Seville corpus. For this, we base our analysis on the coding guidelines proposed by Bentivoglio, Ortiz and Silva-Corvalán (2011) for the PRESEEA panhispanic project. The results show that the subject pronoun is used in 24,8% and it is conditioned by different criteria, such as grammatical person, specificity, ambiguity of the verbal form, semantic class of the verb, co-reference or age.

Abstract:

AbstractMitigation is a pragmatic-linguistic category traditionally related to the theory of verbal politeness. Previous work on this issue has shown that conversational hedging is largely conditioned by the speaker’s identity (Albelda 2012, Cestero 2011, Samper 2017), that is why a deeper understanding of attenuating phenomena requires close attention to the social context underpinning communicative interactions. This paper advances some preliminary results from the ongoing research on discursive mitigation in the Malaga-PRESEEA spoken corpus. The analysis is centered on the underlying mitigating functions in the speech performance of a group of speakers with university education. Since one of our main objectives is contrastive, and previous solid research on attenuation has been carried out within the PRESEEA context, its methodological basis has been assumed (Albelda 2012, Cestero 2011, Samper 2017). Results of multifactorial logistic regression analysis from our data are partially similar to those obtained in previous studies: mitigation formulas are frequent among the well-educated speakers we have studied, especially those related to self-protection functions. Women—more than men—, and younger speakers—more than every other age-group—, tend to lead this use.

Abstract:

The article analyzes the popular names of smallpox and chicken pox, recorded in the “Dictionary of the Komi language dialects” (2012-2014). The semantics and the formal structure of the names are explored. The lexical units referring to smallpox include separate lexemes, which are verbal nouns formed by suffixation ( kokas' ), and compound names with two elements. The latter mostly implements the following model: "noun (in the nominative) + noun meaning ‘smallpox’, ‘disease’. The attributive component indicates the disease, its cause or the mode of transmission ( pis't'i vis'an, jen kokas', ru kokač' ). In the names of chicken pox, which, in accordance with the common notion, is a lighter variety of smallpox, compound constructions indicate the milder nature of the disease ( prestej kokas' ), and its source - the wind ( tev jyv kokač' ). The lexemes denoting smallpox ( kokač'/ kokas', pis't'i/ pis'ki ) are the base words of such phrases as well.

Abstract:

Este trabalho tem por objetivo apresentar os diferentes usos interpessoais das orações concessivas introduzidas pela conjunção aunque em textos orais do espanhol peninsular. Para tanto, adotamos como aparato teórico o modelo da Gramática Discursivo-Funcional (Hengeveld e Mackenzie, 2008), que se organiza em níveis e camadas hierárquicos, e utilizamos como córpus inquéritos de entrevistas sociolinguísticas pertencentes ao PRESEEA. Nossos resultados apontam para uma motivação funcional dos padrões relacionados à factualidade, à pressuposição, ao modo verbal e à posição das orações concessivas iniciadas por aunque que atestam a realização de estratégias interacionais de organização argumentativa por meio dessas orações, que podem tanto ressalvar um comentário anterior, guiar o ouvinte na interpretação de um enunciado posterior, como também introduzir digressões e parênteses a um discurso em andamento.

Donald Davidson, Gilbert Harman y, en particular, John Wallace han identificado en diferentes obras citadas en el texto algunas dificultades que se dan cuando se intenta construir teorías de verdad absoluta para lenguajes que contienen operadores intensionales. Wallace sostiene que la cláusula de recursión estandar para la negación, (1), no tiene una cláusula analoga para la "necesidad" y para toda una gama de operadores intensionales. (2), por ejemplo, es falsa: 1. "No es el caso que p" es verdadera sii no es el caso que "p" es verdadera. 2. "Es necesario que p" es verdadera sii es necesario que "p" es verdadera. "Es necesario que los triángulos tengan tres lados" puede ser verdadera, aunque no es necesario que "los triángulos tienen tres lados" sea verdadera. La cita pudo haber significado algo distinto de lo que la proposición "los triángulos tienen tres lados" quiso decir. Anil Gupta y Christopher Peacocke responden a Wallace disefiando teorías de verdad que, si bien contienen cláusulas similares a (2), no son falsas. En este artículo sostenemos que aunque Gupta y Peacocke hacen a un lado la objeción de Wallace, esto tiene un costo: las teorías de verdad que proponen no pueden funcionar como teorías de interpretación para ningún lenguaje. Puesto que hemos argument ado que las teorías de verdad son las que nos proporcionan la comprensión mas sólida de las teorías de interpretacion, este costo resulta demasiado elevado. Consideramos entonces una sernantica de mundos posibles (SMP) para los lenguajes modales. Muchos piensan que la SMP puede ofrecer teorías de verdad para los lenguajes modales , pero veremos que la SMP no puede convertirse en una teoría de verdad que se preste para la interpretación. Por último, esbozamos una descripción semántica adecuada para los lenguajes modales qua teorías de interpretación, considerando las modalidades como predicados, de la misma forma como Davidson propone que concibamos las atribuciones de actitudes proposicionales como predicativas. Empezamos aclarando lo que queremos decir con "teoría de interpretación" y de que manera una teoría de verdad para un lenguaje L puede, bajo condiciones que dilucidamos, formar parte de una teoría de interpretación para L. Nuestra descripción, aunque se basa en la de Davidson, posee sus propias particularidades.

Abstract:

Este artigo apresenta uma descrição e análise das formas de expressão usadas para a instauração da modalidade volitiva em língua espanhola com base nos discursos do Papa Francisco em viagem apostólica, tendo em vista a proposta tipológica da categoria modalidade apresentada na Gramática Discursivo-Funcional (GDF) e os diversos estudos sobre essa categoria em língua espanhola (SEDANO, 2006; GARCÍA, 2009; TOPOR, 2011; GARCÍA, 2013; e OLIVEIRA, 2017). Os resultados revelam que as construções volitivas foram as mais empregadas (34,2%), seguida pelos usos de verbo pleno (29,1%) e auxiliar modal (24,8%). O emprego majoritário das construções volitivas se dá em virtude do modo subjuntivo, que é o modo verbal prototípico para a instauração das modalizações volitivas relacionadas à manifestação da desejabilidade de potencialização de algum evento volitivo, geralmente, em relação a algo do qual o Sumo Pontífice não teria controle. Há ainda a proposta de que as orações finais, com a estruturação “para...+para que+subjuntivo”, se prestem à expressão da modalidade volitiva, em que há uma vinculação de um dado estados-de-coisas expresso com base em uma intenção (volição), com prospectividade futura, de caracterização hipotética e para expressar um desejo pessoal do Sumo Pontífice.

Abstract:

A alimentação escolar, mais conhecida como “merenda escolar” é um direito dos alunos de escolas da rede públicas. O objetivo dessa alimentação é contribuir para o desenvolvimento integral dos alunos e consequentemente colaborar com seu aprendizado. Os recursos destinados à merenda escolar são repassados mensalmente, baseados no valor percapita, é no censo escolar, assim os governos estadual e federal ficam responsáveis pelo repasse das verbas as escolas públicas. Com o recebimento de recursos é determinado que as escolas prestem contas anualmente sobre os valores utilizados. No mercado atual a poucos softwares que auxiliem na prestação de contas relacionada a merenda, além de não serem gratuitos. Diante disso, o presente estudo tem por objetivo descrever as atividades inerentes a analise e modelagem de um software na plataforma Web com o intuito de gerenciar os recursos destinados à merenda escolar. Metodologicamente, o estudo classifica-se como sendo de natureza qualitativa, empregada através de entrevistas e pesquisa bibliográfica. Com o desenvolvimento do software espera-se contribuir para o aprimoramento do controle dos dados relacionados à merenda escolar, visando aperfeiçoar o aproveitamento dos recursos destinados através do planejamento informatizado de cardápios e geração de relatórios.

En esta investigación abordamos el estudio de los apéndices interrogativos en la ciudad de Sevilla teniendo en cuenta el contraste entre dos épocas: últimas décadas del siglo XX (materiales del grupo Sociolingüística Andaluza: Estudio Sociolingüístico del Habla de Sevilla) y primeros años del siglo XXI (corpus PRESEEA-SE recopilado por el proyecto Patrones Sociolingüísticos del Español de Sevilla). El objetivo que se persigue es conocer si el factor cronológico ha influido en el tipo y la vitalidad de los apéndices interrogativos registrados, así como en su distribución sociolingüística. Para ello se consideraron las variables nivel educativo, edad y sexo. Abstract:

Abstract Mitigation is a highly complex pragmatic phenomenon which has been prioritized as a subject of study in recent decades. However, because of this complexity, there is still neither a convincing definition of exactly what mitigation is nor a definitive list of the linguistic and non-verbal resources through which it is carried out. For this reason, several empirical studies which seek to explain sociopragmatic and geolectal variability in the uses and strategies of mitigation are under way. This is also the aim of our paper, included in the Project for the Sociolinguistic Study of Spanish from Spain and America (PRESEEA). In it, we present relevant data obtained from the comparison of what occurs in Madrid, Valencia, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Puebla (Mexico) regarding the frequency of the production of mitigation and its function in transactional interaction, together with the most productive strategies used in each community. This enables us to identify convergences and divergences and pinpoint sociopragmatic and geolectal patterns.

Aunque la variación entre sujetos explícitos y tácitos se ha investigado en dialectos del español (Cameron 1995; Orozco y Guy 2008), no contamos con estudios contrastivos entre dos variedades caribeñas. Sin embargo, tal comparación podrá arrojar nueva luz sobre las zonas dialectales de América (cf. Otheguy, Zentella y Livert 2007). Por ello, en este trabajo investigamos (i) la distribución de las variantes en San Juan (18 entrevistas de PRESEEA) y Barranquilla (Orozco y Guy 2008), (ii) la diferencia entre el efecto de las variables (la continuidad referencial; el tiempo, el modo y el aspecto verbal; la persona y el número gramatical; el contenido léxico del verbo y el tipo de cláusula; el género y la edad del hablante) según se observa en ambas comunidades y (iii) cuáles de los factores estudiados modelan mejor las divergencias. Así, mostramos que en las dos comunidades subyace un sistema diferente a las alternancias. Para terminar, indicamos que los datos puertorriqueños no apuntan hacia un cambio lingüístico ni una valoración social de las variantes.

Axiological markers are manifested in values, words have a significant influence on a modern person, on their verbal acts and mindsets. Reflection of various concepts and ideas is an objective phenomenon of the modern axiological and audiovisual media space. Name-dropping as an intentional or a random mention of well-known names, nominations of various phenomena of real and imaginary world let people actualize various properties and qualities. Research on name-dropping in the language as a communicative system is important for the analysis of the modern language processes. Name-dropping is also viewed as a lexical unit that exists in the media space, which allows us to study its etymology, mark the beginning of the process of the popularization of this word in various languages as well as to analyze its role in the formation of axiological linguistic space.The observation of this phenomenon allows us to analyze social preferences, pragmatic presets and specifics of national mentality that are defined by the universal and specific characteristics through the lens of the corpus analysis of English, French and Russian language environments. The authors analyze the traditional types of namedropping as well as the new ones and state that name-dropping is an important phenomenon of the modern linguistic and cultural space as well as an expressive feature that forms its axiological realization; its multivector axiological features are determined by cumulative linguistic effects.

Abstract:

Abstract The objective of this article is to extract certain general consequences about social and linguistic-pragmatic conditions in the expression of subject personal pronouns (SPPs) in contemporary urban Spanish. The study examines some of the results obtained in Valencia and Granada, Spain; Mexico City, Mexico; San Juan, Puerto Rico; Caracas, Venezuela; Bogotá and Medellín, Colombia; and Montevideo, Uruguay. These works have all analyzed data from the “Project for the Sociolinguistic Study of Spanish in Spain and America” (PRESEEA), thus they all share data collected under very similar circumstances (Moreno Fernández 1996; Cestero Mancera 2012). The presence or the absence of pronominal subjects in Spanish is required in certain contexts, but in most cases they are considered optional. This optionality depends on fixed factors of linguistic nature (such as the grammatical person and number of the subject, or the co-reference between the subject and a previous element) and of social nature (such as age or gender), and on random factors (such as individuals and verbal pieces). The hypotheses to be tested are: (a) there is geographical variation among the cities studied, which is reflected in the rates of overt SPPs (Otheguy & Zentella 2012; Carvalho, Orozco & Shin 2015); (b) social variation is relatively small within each city; (c) the fixed and random linguistic-pragmatic variation is intense within each city and similar among cities; (d) the most relevant factors that activate overt SPPs are related to adequate information management of the anaphoric chains and textual coherence.
