Abstract:
The present paper illustrates the results of a diagnostic investigation performed on the oil on canvas painting “The Glory of St. Barbara” (1680–1688) by Mattia Preti. The painting is located inside the St. Barbara Church in Taverna (Catanzaro, Italy), the city that gave birth to the artist. In situ, non-invasive studies, by applying X-ray fluorescence (XRF) spectroscopy, along with laboratory micro-destructive analytical investigations, by employing electron probe microanalyses (EPMA) coupled with energy-dispersive spectrometry (EDS) and micro-Raman (µ-Raman) spectroscopy, were combined to retrieve the color palette and identify the painting technique and style of the famous master. As a result of this multi-scale characterization, an extraordinary pictorial technique was revealed, enriching knowledge about one of the oldest pictorial traditions outlined by Mattia Preti, and solving doubts still existing about many of his investigated artworks. Moreover, the achieved results represent useful and essential tools to address management issues of the artwork, by providing valuable information for planning and monitoring future restoration interventions of the canvas.

Abstract:
This paper presents the results of three different approaches applied to the newly-restored titular painting entitled <em>The Conversion of St Paul</em>, the main altarpiece in the Mdina Cathedral in Malta. This large, dramatic painting is the work of the Baroque artist, Mattia Preti, known as <em>il Cavaliere Calabrese</em>. Here, we focus on the results of the digital photogrammetric survey that adopts image-based approaches for 2D/3D model reconstruction. The model was used to quantify important features of the painting as well extensions of the areas restored. In addition, portable X-ray fluorescence and Raman spectroscopies were used to non-destructively identify the nature of the painting materials, at the elemental and molecular spatial scales, respectively, with the ultimate goal of reconstructing the colour palette of the artist. The 3D model developed here could be applied to other paintings of Preti to conduct comparisons between different measurements in the paintings, with the main goal of clarifying the technique used by the artist. This information, along with the characterisation of the materials used, is crucial for the reconstruction of the historical–geographical context of the artwork, since specific pigmenting agents and media tend to represent the stylistic expression of an artist or an epoque.

The development of the nervous system can be studied only if the age of the embryo is exactly known. Since it is difficult to control reproduction in female cats, we tried to time fertilization very precisely to within one hour by using either artificial insemination, or by mating females in oestrus induced by light programming. In one trial, this programming was associated with male or female stimuli according to the work of McClintock (1971, 1978, 1984) and Preti et al. (1986).

Resumo A proposta deste artigo é demonstrar que existe uma espécie de continuum de casos de piadas. Essa gradação iria de ocorrências mais narrativas e previamente conhecidas por quem as relata (casos das piadas prontas e das anedotas pessoais) a outras, menos previsíveis e próprias da interação verbal (situação das chamadas piadas conversacionais ou espontâneas). A análise é feita com base em enunciados orais, registrados em vídeos e veiculados na internet, de modo a identificar as marcas centrais das diferentes formas de apresentação da piada. O estudo ancora-se especialmente nos pressupostos teóricos de Raskin (1985), Norrick (1993), Marcuschi (2001) e Preti (2003).

Abstract In the present paper, we present the main results of a diagnostic investigation on different paintings by Mattia Preti, belonging to the Cycle of the New Church of Sarria, located inside the Church of the Immaculate Conception of Sarria (Floriana) in Malta. The analysis was carried out on the occasion of the restoration process and, due to the short time available, only on some representative areas of each painting. A multi-technique approach was applied in situ, employing X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (XRF) and Raman microscopy. The aim was to achieve information on the execution technique, in a completely non-invasive way, following the requirements of the restorers.

V posebnem poglavju analizira regulative svobodnega trzenja WTO-GATS, ki na podrocju izobrazevanja vkljucujejo pet kategorij: osnovnosolsko, srednjesolsko in visokosolsko izobrazevanje, izobrazevanje odraslih ter druge izobrazevalne storitve. Sledi razmislek o moznostih prostega visokosolskega trga v SlovenUi in o tem, ali bodo tradicionalne univerze prezivele sedanje pritiske globalne kompetitivne naravnanosti.

Osnovna tema rada je rekonstrukcija i revitalizacija objekta Studija M. - kulturnog nasleđa Novog Sada, koje je zaboravljeno i preti mu nestnak sa mape grada. Metodologija rada se sastoji od generisanja osnov­ne teze - teza o procesu Translacije ideje, koja pro­ističe iz prethodne analize pojma ideologije, kao podteme rada, a zatim i ilustrovanja teze kroz primer Studija M pre i posle intervencije, kroz prizmu ideologije. U istraživanju se ideo­logija posmatra kao sistem namera čijim oprostorenjem se stvara arhitektura. Pored programske i formalne razrade ovog projekta, razvijaju se i apstraktni programski seg­menti, odnosno funkcije koje nisu čisto utilitarne i odnose se na utiskivanje novih značenja u telo i duh objekta.

Queste due caratteristiche sono poi messe in relazione con la funzione dei documenti degli Arvali—che non sono, come in genere si pensa, una pratica fonte di riferimento per i preti, ma una convalida simbolica della loro attività rituale.

O artigo apresenta análise de marcas de oralidade presentes em diálogo ficcional do texto teatral "Quando as máquinas param" de Plínio Marcos. Por estar relacionado ao estudo das relações entre fala e escrita, definiu-se usar aparato teórico relacionado à Análise da Conversação, com ênfase na metodologia de microanálise e macroanálise proposta por Dino Preti (2004) em seu livro Estudos de Língua Oral e Escrita para análise de diálogos ficcionais. Diante das categorias propostas pelo pesquisador, privilegiou-se a investigação de algumas das marcas recorrentes em textos orais, tais como uso de palavrão e gírias, utilização de frases formulaicas e emprego de estratégias conversacionais.

O presente artigo tem como finalidade mostrar como se efetiva a mudança dos ethé, de negativo para positivo, de Naruto Uzumaki, personagem principal da série Naruto (2007), considerando sua relevância no anime. A metodologia adotada será a captura, pelos stills dos vídeos, de sete cenas e a transcrição dos discursos com base nas normas do NURC/SP (CASTILHO; PRETI, 1986). O sucesso da série, segundo entendemos, deve-se à personalidade forte e à coragem do protagonista, elementos que sustentam a persuasão da trama. A análise fundamenta-se nos pressupostos teóricos da Retórica clássica (ARISTÓTELES, 2015), da Nova Retórica (PERELMAN; OLBRECHTS-TYTECA, 2005; REBOUL, 2004; MEYER, 2007; FERREIRA, 2010; FIORIN, 2015) e da Análise do Discurso (MAINGUENEAU, 2008), respaldando-se especificamente na noção de ethos.

Abstract:
O objetivo deste trabalho é analisar o uso do discurso direto e dos marcadores conversacionais em ambientes forenses e suas funções interacionais nesse tipo de contexto. O aporte teórico desta pesquisa está fundamentado nos princípios da Análise da Conversação em relação de interface com a Linguística Forense, e o corpus é formado de excertos de quatro audiências judiciais públicas, transcritas conforme Preti (2003). Os resultados mostram que o discurso direto constitui uma estratégia eficaz para atribuir um efeito de realidade, objetividade e veracidade nas informações fornecidas pelos falantes. Os marcadores conversacionais são elementos multifuncionais, pois contribuem para a organização e estruturação do texto falado, além de possuírem as funções de resumidores, de busca de aprovação discursiva, de planejamento verbal e de atenuadores.

Este trabalho trata do estudo do vocabulário de grupo (ou gíria de grupo), conhecido como bajubá, utilizado pela comunidade LGBTT (Lésbicas, Gays, Bissexuais, Travestis e Transgêneros) na cidade de Palmas, Tocantins. O objetivo é descrever os vocábulos que tenham traços de procedência/origem nas línguas africanas, considerando o uso da linguagem como representação sócio-histórica e cultural pertencente a um grupo. O estudo é do tipo pesquisa de campo, descritivo e qualitativo. Os autores Santos (2011), Mendonça (2012), Pessoa de Castro (2005), Preti (1983), Vip e Libi (2006), Lopes (2012) e Beniste (2011) serviram de suporte teórico e metodológico. Os resultados da análise do corpusapresentam traços de procedência das línguas do grupo Niger-Congo, subgrupo bantu e oeste-africano ou sudanês.

Uloga odluka organa Ujedinjenih nacija (UN) u stvaranju međunarodnog prava uglavnom se razmatra kao uticaj na formalne izvore međunarodnog prava. U tim okvirima promišljanja odluke Saveta bezbednosti UN (SBUN) samo posredno doprinose nastanku ili promeni međunarodnog prava, dok je njihov neposredni pravnostvaralački efekat ograničen na konkretnu situaciju na koju se odnosi. SBUN je usled promena u međunarodnim odnosima napravio iskorak ka stvaranju opštih međunarodnopravnih normi. Zato smo odlučili da razmotrimo kako doktrina međunarodnog prava vidi domete tog legislativnog uticaja. Rad analizira tačke sporenja doktrine i razmatra neposredni pravnostvaralački uticaj odluka SBUN iz ugla međunarodnopravnog subjektiviteta međunarodnih organizacija. Zaključak autora je da je legislativna aktivnost SBUN stvarnost koja otvara mogućnost razvoja UN kao subjekta međunarodnog prava, ali istovremeno preti da poremeti temelje međunarodnopravnog poretka.

Prema podacima za 2010. godinu, na nivou Evropske unije zabeležen je većiprocenat žena kojima preti siromaštvo ili društvena isključenost nego muškaraca. Razlikau siromaštvu žena i muškaraca često se naziva rodnim jazom u siromaštvu. U Strategiji zasmanjenje siromaštva koju je Vlada Srbije usvojila 2003. žene su prepoznate kao socijalnoranjiva grupa, često, ukoliko je slučaj o Romkinjama, ženama sa invaliditetom, samohranimmajkama ili ženama iz seoskih sredina, višestruko marginalizovana. Međutim, u medijimaje siromaštvo žena i danas gotovo nevidljivo. Analiza novinarskih tekstova iz oktobra 2010.potvrđuje medijsku isključenost svih socijalno ranjivih grupa, samim tim i žena. Cilj ovograda1 je da istraži koliko i na koji način je predstavljeno siromaštvo žena u elektronskimi štampanim medijima godinu dana kasnije, 2011. godine, kao i kakva je slika žena ukomentarima građana ostavljenim na tekstovima koji govore o siromaštvu na popularnimmedijskim portalima u Srbiji.

Višedecenijsko preispitivanje koncepta kulture u arheologiji usmereno je na pokušaj da se prevaziđe tradicionalni, kulturnoistorijski koncept po kome se kultura razume kao relativno stabilan i homogen sistem vrednosti karakterističan za određenu grupu, odnosno zajednicu ljudi. Praksa kulturnog klasifikovanja artefakata, bazirana na pretpostavci da ljudi koje povezuje izrada i upotreba stilski ujednačene materijalne kulture čine grupu sa osećanjem zajedničkog identiteta, kritikuje se kao odraz etnocentrične projekcije savremene ideje o kulturnom identitetu. Uprkos brojnim kritikama ovakvog koncepta, koje se pod uticajem različitih teorijskih pravaca razvijaju počev od šezdesetih godina na ovamo, čini se da implicitna pretpostavka o zajedničkom kulturnom identitetu grupe ljudi koju povezuje zajednička materijalna kultura i dalje opstaje. Štaviše, pokušaj da se, kao odgovor na pomenute kritike, ponudi jedna multikulturna interpretacija prošlosti preti da iznova rehabilituje koncept kulture koji arheologija pokušava da napusti decenijama unazad.

Neste artigo, discuto a suposição de que a linguagem proibida e os tabus a ela associados se dissolvem quando adentram o ambiente digital dos chats. A discussão é guiada pelas perspectivas sociolingüística de Preti (1983, 1992, 2000, 2001) e enunciativa de Benveniste ([1974] 1989), uma vez que esses trabalhos auxiliam aqui a analisar fragmentos de interação via chat , sendo, neste caso, considerados os vocábulos que se associam à gíria, à obscenidade, à blasfêmia, ao palavrão e à grosseria, sejam eles utilizados nos nicknames dos internautas ou na conversação. A análise dos fragmentos permite concluir que o anonimato conferido aos participantes, através dos seus apelidos, mostra-se como um dos fatores mais produtivos para o "livre" uso da linguagem marginal, a qual parece estar circunscrita não somente aos limites do verbal, mas também a outras semioses utilizadas pelos usuários.

Este artigo apresenta, pela primeira vez em língua portuguesa, o texto “Os pintores futuristas”, escrito pelo historiador e crítico de arte Roberto Longhi (1890-1970). Professor, pesquisador, ensaísta e editor, Longhi possui uma posição de destaque no estudo da história da arte italiana. Seus escritos atestam seu conhecimento e erudição no campo das artes, e suas monografias foram pioneiras no processo de valorização de artistas como Mattia Preti, Caravaggio e Piero della Francesca. Constatação semelhante pode ser verificada com os pintores futuristas, aos quais Longhi dedicou, em 1913, um ensaio vibrante e consistente, que valoriza as obras do grupo, ao mesmo tempo que o insere na cronologia da arte italiana. Trata-se, portanto, de um texto de particular importância, por ser um dos primeiros trabalhos que se propõe a analisar, em profundidade, a estética futurista e sua produção pictórica

Dans cette contribution nous examinons les versions italiennes du mythe ovidien de Salmacis et Hermaphrodite proposées par les volgarizzatori du XIVe et du XVIe siècles et par le poète baroque Girolamo Preti dans La Salmace. Avant d’entamer la lecture de ces textes, qui, jusqu’à présent, n’ont pas souvent été étudiés, nous parcourons le contenu du mythe raconté dans les Métamorphoses et nous offrons une brève présentation des traductions et de l’évolution du genre du volgarizzamento en Italie. Ensuite nous analysons — en focalisant sur la thématique amoureuse exprimée par le mythe — les modifications apportées à la représentation des protagonistes et aux similitudes ovidiennes. Notre lecture ne se limite pas à souligner l’attitude des traducteurs envers la source latine ou l’influence des poètes nationaux et de traducteurs antérieurs, mais elle offre aussi une explication de l’impopularité du mythe à la Renaissance et de la réapparition du récit au début du XVIIe siècle.
