Abstract:
Using Jarvis’ (2006) psychosocial perspective of human learning, we explore how the career choices and the subsequent coaching approaches of five Canadian women coaches have been influenced by their primary and secondary socialization. A content analysis was performed to identify how coaches learned in their primary socialization with their family, and in their secondary socialization at school and in their sport experiences. The findings indicate that the learning situations in their primary and secondary socialization influence the coaches’ career choices and their subsequent coaching approaches. These findings have implications for coaching education, enabling course developers and facilitators to understand (a) the importance of creating environments where coaches are able to critically reflect, and (b) how coaching approaches can be influenced by early life experiences.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the problem of differentiation of needs into primary and secondary. It is shown that primary needs, by virtue of their purpose, determine the ability to respond to objects of reality, and not vice versa, while secondary needs, whether “true” or “false”, are a subjective expression of a need at the level of its awareness. Thus, the need to divide needs into primary and secondary needs is primarily associated with an attempt to display a hierarchy of needs for considering the evolution of human development in the process of its socialization. According to another position, the division of needs into primary and secondary needs is carried out in order to study the mechanism of development of needs, starting from primary needs to the realization of the final result of activity through the satisfaction of intermediate needs.

Abstract:
This study was designed to investigate the socialization and occupational identity of undergraduate music education majors enrolled in traditional preservice teacher education programs. Preservice music teachers ( N = 578) from 30 randomly sampled institutions completed a 128-item questionnaire. Descriptive statistics were computed for all variables, and factor analysis was used to explore the underlying structure of occupational identity. Correlational and regression analyses revealed relationships among socialization influences and occupational identity. Descriptive findings surrounding various aspects of primary and secondary socialization revealed that parents, school music teachers, and private lesson instructors exerted a positive influence on student decisions related to participating in music and pursuing a music education career. Factor analysis results indicated that occupational identity consisted of three constructs: musician identity, self-perceived teacher identity, and teacher identity as inferred from others. Correlations between secondary socialization and occupational identity were slightly stronger than those between primary socialization and occupational identity, and influential experiences were more predictive of occupational identity than influential people.

Abstract:
The study focuses on the growing problem of the contemporary society which we may observe in the increasing impact of the media, namely advertising, reflecting in the consumer behavior of the contemporary youth influencing their value systems, in continuity with a significant weakening of the role of primary socialization factors, i.e. families and schools. The study should not only reveal the power of the media affecting the young but also to answer the question of whether social advertising can become a significant socializing factor in the current postmodern society. To find the answer, an extensive quantitative research was carried out in 1,080 primary school respondents, as well as in 1,080 secondary school respondents at 54 schools in the Czech Republic - the sample being directly proportional for girls x boys, and towns/cities x villages. The study also includes conclusions based on the follow-up qualitative research realized in the form of focus groups for pupils of primary and secondary schools, specifically aimed at specifying the effectiveness of social advertising according to the priority presentation of different socially problematic areas. The final part of the study presents the possibility to effectively use social advertising in the role of an educational and training agent in the system of primary and secondary education in the continuity of cooperation with university students with the focus on marketing communications, as well as with marketing employees of advertising agencies.

Abstract:
Europe is one of those regions of the world where the tendency towards language unity is dual in nature - on the one hand, in the process of its spread, transnational contact English (EL) acquires regionally determined typological forms; on the other hand, there is a common European tendency of opposition to the expansion of its influence on national languages. Significant changes in their dynamics due to globalization are undergoing the functioning of the languages of the peoples of the world. Striving for the economic unity of the world, globalization is also causing a tendency towards its linguistic unity. In transnational communication of European countries, the contact EL is involved in many domestic and special areas. It develops in multilingual contexts of the European Union, which initially implies the need for transcultural and transnational communication among European communicants, within which the relationship of languages is not something fixed once and for all. The paradigm of international culture in the mentality of Europeans develops in the process of secondary socialization, when a secondary linguistic personality is formed, determined by the formal membership of the European community, regardless of the specific country of residence. The structure of the cultural component of the European transnational communication and the specificity of the linguocultural component of the EL in various European countries reflect the long process of secondary socialization and internalization of the EL, which has its own characteristics in different parts of the continent. In contrast to primary socialization, which has a universal national character, secondary socialization is aimed at the entry of the individual into the international community, for example, scientists, students, business people, bloggers, etc. Possession of EL as an instrument of secondary socialization allows representatives of various linguocultural communities to realize acquired cultural norms in both intranational and transnational communication. Within the spatial-temporal framework of European contexts, the linguocultural component of the ELis formed on the basis of the cultural component of primary socialization in the native language; passes through the emotional-personal filter of users, is made out of linguistic means at the appropriate level of knowledge of the EL and receives a secondary cultural orientation in the conditions of secondary socialization. The situation of intercultural communication arises when two or more persons belonging to different cultures interact, and members of different cultures can expect their partners to communicate and behave in the same way as they do, and not to make adjustments to their speech behavior. The paper raises questions of the vitality of culture in conditions of intensive contact, since identity in the context of globalization is a process of differentiation, fragmentation, and complementarity of systemic and subjective-objective factors. The complexity of the process of identifying a modern transcultural linguistic personality lies in the multidimensionality of identity criteria, the actualization of political, social, cultural and symbolic capital.

Abstract:
Depending on various criteria, the specialized literature defined several types of socialization. After socialization factors and the age at which the process are studied, we have primary socialization and secondary socialization (and continues), according to the assessment of society there are positive or negative socialization, and as awareness of how socialization process is distinguished there is formal or informal socialisation, depending on the objective pursued by already created effects, we have anticipatory or adaptive socialization , depending on the intervention of legitimate power we can talk about associative or institutional socialization after as contents and the results expressed in statuses and roles, gender socialization may be , professional, marital, according to methods of making can speak about planned, spontaneous, law enforcement, participatory socializing depending on the purpose we have societal, national, political, ideological-partisan socialization etc.. These types are not individualized in an environment amorphous, but they intermingle, they complement and, by correlation, manage to describe the complex phenomenon of socialization. The contribution of those who have defined numerous types of socialization should not be approached holistically, nor in opposition with each other, but as a complement to the comprehensive and specialized understanding of socialization. In this context, we propose a new criterion for classification, namely the extent of socialization, which assumes a total socialization of one partial socialization and a zero socialization, void. In regards the overall socialization, this is an ideal and not a reality. However, at least in theory, we could use this terminology as, for example, education sciences use the term " ideal educational " or how physics used the notion of "ideal environment". The concept of "zero socialization" could be the social equivalent of the expression used by Aristotel in his "De anima": a kind of "blank slate" for the socialization.

This research is qualitative descriptive research using in-depth interview technique to collect data needed. Primary data sources are used interviews, as well as secondary data in the form of the document collection. The sampling technique is a snowball. Furthermore, to ensure data validation, researchers use data triangulation and interactive techniques in presenting the data. Results: The results of this research are the Office of Women Empowerment, Child Protection and Community Empower- ment Surakarta who acts as an innovator, using more interpersonal communication channel because it is considered deeper although less effective because of lack of maximization of mass communication in the socialization process. Implications: The channels of interpersonal communication are more widely used by the level of adopters and innovators because they are more persuasive. The adoption rate of the KLA program in Surakarta has reached the level of Laggards. Thus, adoption in this research includes 5 stages: knowledge (knowledge stage), persuasion (decision stage), decision (decision stage), implementation (implementation stage), and confirmation (stabilization phase).

Abstract:
This study aims to determine the construction of reality carried out by the community against the tomb of Dewi Sekardadu as pro-poor tourism development. This research method is qualitative with the Peter L. Berger phenomenological approach. The results showed that there was a construction of reality carried out through three stages (externalization, objectivation, internalization). In the externalization, the stakeholders emphasized the Islamic side of Dewi Sekardadu. The objective reality of Dewi Sekardadu as an Islamic figure was accepted by the whole community because they got primary socialization from the family. Secondary socialization of Dewi Sekardau's tomb as a tourism commodity occurs when the community is mature. Due to a lack of knowledge, existing tourism support facilities cannot be maximized by most people. They still work as keepers of fish ponds and river fishermen due to the lack of socialization and training in tourism management from the government.

Sociolinguistics has grown in importance in recent years, and we have become aware of the role of language not just as a means of communication, but also as a creator of social identity. Additionally, in our current globalized world, contact between users of different languages has increased, especially in countries with large immigrant populations. This interview with Dr. Patricia Duff explores the major issues in Language Socialization. Dr. Duff is currently Co-director of the Centre for Research in Chinese Language and Literacy Education at the University of British Columbia, Canada, where she is Professor of Language and Literacy Education. Socialization occurs not consciously through a complex process of interactions where emotions, values, attitudes, feelings and own context cultural patterns are integrated. This process generates a relational climate that should be conducive to learning and well-being for all people in the group. The school, educational institution, favors the relationships within the group framework and reconstructs previous learning with a variety of models and the educational action led by the faculty. The amplitude of the classroom group creates situations of great complexity and offers many opportunities to prevent the violence from the knowledge of situations that may involve risks and relational vulnerability and relational difficulties especially for some people. The factors that can hinder relations and create an improper relational climate include the social and learning difficulties and cultural differences. The climate cannot be changed individually but it is modified from the dynamics led by the adult person who has the responsibility to help the group learn to relate and that each individual has their space of belonging. Adolescent girls were resurveyed each year from grade 6 to grade 10 to determine the change in physical activity participation as they matured and the variables most related to continued participation in physical activity in grade 10. Primary participation declined over the 5 years while secondary sport involvement increased. The five types of variables most related to participation in grade 10 were (a) significant others’ participation and encouragement (socializing agents), (b) movement satisfaction, especially satisfaction with sport ability (personal attribute), (c) independent, assertive self-descriptions (personal attribute), (d) sports equipment available (socialization situation), and (e) preference for active rather than sedentary activities (personal attribute). For interschool teams, the first two personal attributes were most influential. For community organized activities, the socializing agents and socialization situation variables were most important, and for both average hours per day and total activities participated in, sports equipment available was most highly correlated.

This article examines the formative socialization of British Army recruits in the first week of their Phase 1 Initial Training. Contextualized by individual and collective cultural variables, an extended participant observational case study commented on the process by which the British Army seeks to instill discipline and military identity in the early stages of transition from civilian to trained soldier. The person-environment relationship and individual exosystemic themes emerged as apparent influential variables, noting that a relationship appeared to exist between an early internalization of military values and subsequent formation of a moral identity, with associated primary and secondary adjustment behaviors.

Abstract:
Objective – is to formulate a methodological discourse regarding the place and role of the language interconnected with the process of socialization of a person and develop a systemic idea of the corresponding functional features. Materials & Methods – this discourse is formulated on the basis of a systemic idea of the personality socialization, which, in turn, is realized using the structural-ontological method of studying the subject matter field in interdisciplinary researches. This method involves the construction of special visual-graphic matrices that reflect the interaction of the primary process and the material of the studied system. Results. The work with the structural-ontological matrix made it possible to analyze the functions of the language in the context of such significant factors of socialization as complex psychodynamics, civilization space and the function of reflection. At the same time, reflection is considered at the level of two plans – primary (reflection-bond) and secondary (reflection-splitting). This made it possible to deduce the idea of the role of language beyond the traditional framework of working with text and analyze the place of the language in the context of activities to establish a connection between individuals, which is realized in a specific cooperative situation (Shchedrovitsky). In particular, the look at language as a specific tool of civilizational rationing, the mechanism of which is provided through reflection-communication. Thus, the language is examined through the prism of its systemic influence on the morphology of the psyche. Conclusions – a structural-ontological analysis of the place and role of language in the process of personality socialization has led us to construction of a hypothesis about the phenomenon of language discontentment, as a tendency to distance away ego-consciousness in the process of individuation from linguistic ontology. The arguments were also advanced in favor of the assumption regarding the peculiarities of the influence of language discontentment on cultural activities and the psychodynamic contribution of this phenomenon in the midlife crisis (Jung).

Abstract:
This research aimed to find out the healthy and hygienic behavior at the Lebong County Bengkulu Province regarding on external and internal environment, objective judgment, baby delivery, breastfeeding, toilet, and the domestic non-smoking prohibition. The qualitative approach was used with subjects of the research were 16 housewives, with purposive sampling method applied, and 15 key informants who hold either formal or non-formal authority in the society. The data were obtained through in-depth interviews, observations and documentations. The results showed that the social reality in terms of baby delivery stemmed both from primary socialization (family: grandmother, mother and mother in law) and secondary socialization (internalization or education) that had become a tradition from one generation to the next generation. Another interesting fact is that a great number of mothers do not breastfeed their baby. Instead, they started to give supplements food to their 3-and-4- month old babies, such as water and honey, water and sugar, or rice porridge with coconut sugar. The community also seemed to be unfamiliar with the concept of healthy toilet as they fulfill the call of Mother Nature in random places, such as in the river, behind the trees, or in the sewer. Furthermore, it is not an easy task to have a non-smoking prohibition in every single family since smoking has become an externalized habit and a symbol of masculinity. The researcher concluded that the healthy and hygienic behavior was heavily influenced by a stock of knowledge derived either from the primary source (family) or from the secondary source (significant influence from key figures or education). Other factors that also had a great influence upon the implementation of the healthy and hygienic behavior in the society were poverty, distance and location, healthy facilities, and communal habits.

Abstract:
Covid-19 data governance has reached the stage of integrating data into one covid data using ‘Bersatu Lawan Covid’ (BLC) application or the website https://data.covid19.go.id. However, there are many obstacles in its implementation, such as data that is not fully integrated, slow delivery of data from users, user data is not updated, and lack of human resources for data entry. On the other hand, compared to other countries, Indonesia has a low PCR test rate. This paper focuses on finding challenges in the covid-19 data governance mechanism that has been integrated in the BLC application. This type of research is qualitative research, with primary and secondary data collection. Researchers interviewed the public communication sector of the COVID-19 response task force. The results show that the procedural mechanism challenge was to equalize regional and central Covid-19 data by intensifying socialization and mentoring as well as fulfilling human, financial and supporting resources. Meanwhile, the challenge of the relationship mechanism is to grow the willingness of users to report actively every second of the progress of Covid-19 data. We can improvement with strengthening socialization, training, coordination, and fulfilling data entry personnel.

MacDonald, Cheryl A. "Masculinity and Sport Revisted: A Review of Literature on Hegemonic Masculinity and Men's Ice Hockey in Canada." Canadian Graduate Journal of Sociology and Criminology 3, no. 1 (April 2, 2014): 95–112. http://dx.doi.org/10.15353/cgjsc.v3i1.3764.

Abstract:
Ice hockey is particularly significant in Canada as it acts as a primary site of socialization for boys and men. This form of socialization raises questions about masculinity on the public agenda in terms of the problematic nature of hypermasculinity in sport, stereotypical images of athletes, and questions of social responsibility as both men and athletes. These issues are presently relevant as Canada (and perhaps all of North America) finds itself in an era characterized by accounts in mainstream media of competitive athletes’ cavalier lifestyles, hazing, violence, homophobia, drug addictions, and suicides. This review of literature uses secondary research to problematize masculinity in the ice hockey context by presenting the overarching claim that male hockey players are hegemonically masculine individuals. The piece begins by defining Australian sociologist R.W. Connell’s (1987) concept of hegemonic masculinity and situating it in the contemporary academic context. Next, it offers an overview of relevant literature on masculinity and sport along with a concise examination of scholarly work on the relationship between hegemonic masculinity and ice hockey in Canada. It concludes by summarising calls for further research in the literature and by suggesting approaches to future studies in the field.

Abstract:
Purpose: We attempted to empirically examine the fitness level of enterprises CSR strategy and its context with contingency and configuration approach. Furthermore, we used 213 CSR managers of state-owned enterprises in Indonesia as samplesDesign/methodology/approach: We used the purposive sampling technique to examine the data, also the contingency and configuration approach are measured with regression Euclidean distance.Findings: The result of the configuration and contingency approach has shown fit between CSR strategy and elements of contingency such as socialization tactic and time orientation. This condition also emerges on proactive CSR strategy and reactive CSR strategy, However, there are limitations of this study: an existence of the influence of the situation and condition when this study takes time; there is a concern on the result of not generalizing population, also the organizational performance only considered the size of organizational performance from non financial measure.Research limitation: (a) respondents’ answers are highly influenced by situation and condition when the study takes time. Although validity and reliability tests has shown the right outcome, there is still a possibility of a bias, (b) state-owned companies in Indonesia are represented by CSR manager samples or PKBL with purposive technique so there is a concern on the result for not generalizing population, (c) this research only used primary data through questionnaires. It would be better to combine both primary and secondary data for future researches, (d) organizational performance only considered the size of organizational performance from non financial measure.Originality/value: There is a methodological contribution in testing the fit of a relationship, both contingency and configuration are superior in terms of research method which used Euclidean distance, and used multivariate fit and bivariate fit linear regression. This research model used systematic approach by testing the fit of a relationship, using deviation from design ideal type for socialization tactic and time orientation or contingency variable that influences organizational performance, hence it could be acknowledged the value of the influence between ideal relationship from CSR strategy, socialization tactic and time orientation.

Abstract:
The present brief review examines the interrelationships between social factors and children’s as well as adolescents’ mental health by looking mostly at the real social and material conditions of their development. The review stems from the sociological theories of social capital (Coleman, 1988), of social disorganization (Sampson & Laub, 1994), and from psycho-social theories of family strain model (Conger & Elder, 1994), and of the psychological sense of community (McMillan & Chavis, 1986). international empirical evidence is presented concerning with the fields of primary and secondary socialization of children and adolescents. This evidence shows that the stable material wellness, intimate and community social bonds, the sense of place together with the sense of psychological community constitute critical factors and processes that influence strongly the social and psychological health of children and adolescents.
