Abstract:

The intent of this study was to garner data regarding principals' teacher selection practices and perceptions of teacher effectiveness and to examine the degree to which their teacher selection practices aligned with qualities of effective teachers. This thesis aims to discuss some of the relationships between oscillation theory for linear ordinary differential equations on the real line (shortly, ODE) and the geometry of complete Riemannian manifolds. In this respect, we prove new results in both directions.
