Among preemptive real-time uniprocessor scheduling algorithms, many researches, such as optimal and heuristic algorithms, considers only one task attribute and neglects also the variation of attributes. To understand the relations between task attributes and scheduling success ratio, we first define the sensitivity of scheduling success ratio to task attributes. Sensitivity means the intensity of variation of scheduling success ratio as task attributes varies. The paper analyzes the sensitivities of scheduling success ratio to arrival time, execution time, deadline and laxity respectively, whi

To be specific, we modeled the task execution time by using the beta distribution. Receiver synchronisation can be a major problem in a mobile radio environment where the communication channel is subject to rapid changes. Communication in spread spectrum systems is impossible unless the received spreading waveform and receiver-generated replica of the spreading waveform are initially synchronised in both phase and frequency. Phase and frequency synchronisation is usually accomplished by performing a two-dimensional search in the time/frequency ambiguity area. Abstract:
The primary objectives of project EC-02-13 "Response to Corrosion Interacting with the Longitudinal Seam in Liquid Pipelines" are to clarify what analysis methodologies are appropriate to assess corrosion intersecting a pipeline longitudinal seam weld (LSW) and to develop recommended guidelines to effectively manage these types of features. The overall project scope included execution of destructive testing of corrosion features intersecting an LSW, material property testing of LSWs produced by multiple manufacturing methods, detailed engineering analysis, and a literature review of all past r

Abstract:
In this study, a headspace technique was developed for the determination of some volatile chlorinated hydrocarbons i.e, methylene chloride, chloroform, carbon tetrachloride, 1,1,1-trichloroethane and trichloroethylene in water samples. Various factors having effect on the percent recovery were studied and evaluated. The temperature of 60ํC equilibration time of 60 minutes, the liquid to gas phase volume ration of 30:30 in 60 ml serum vial, 1.50 ml of injection volume, and salting out with 13.00 g of anhydrous sodium sulfate were chosen as the optimal headspace analysis condition for the determ

Abstract:
To demonstrate the value of research and its implementation, the Governor’s Office requested an annual financial analysis of the INDOT Research Program to determine the return on the research investment (ROI). The current financial analysis is for research projects that completed in FY 2020. Analyses on previous year’s projects is necessary primarily due to the time it takes some project outcomes to be implemented, extending into the following year. Therefore, the FY 2020 analysis is completed in calendar 2021. The ROI analysis will supplement the annual IMPACT report by adding a more rigorous

Abstract:
For its size, Devils Postpile National Monument supports a diverse assemblage of nocturnal fauna. Our summer 2022 surveys recorded 15 bat species within the monument. Five of these species had not been previously confirmed in the monument, including two of the three sensitive species targeted: pallid bat (Antrozous pallidus) and fringed myotis (Myotis thysanodes). No California Spotted Owls (Strix occidentalis occidentalis) were confirmed, but a Great Horned Owl (Bubo virginianus) was recorded. Across the disturbance categories of interest identified by monument leadership (e.g., high, moderat

Description: Shipping is responsible for a range of different pressures affecting air quality, climate, and the marine environment. Most social and economic analyses of shipping have focused on air pollution assessment and how shipping may impact climate change and human health. This risks that policies may be biased towards air pollution and climate change, whilst impacts on the marine environment are not as well known. One example is the sulfur regulation introduced in January 2020, which requires shipowners to use a compliant fuel with a sulfur content of 0.5% (0.1% in SECA regions) or use
