Denna studie syftar till att öka förståelsen för hur kriminalvårdare uppfattar sin yrkesidentitet. Var går gränsen mellan det professionella och det personliga/privata i förhållande till de intagna på en kriminalvårdsanstalt? Studien bygger på åtta kvalitativa samtalsintervjuer med kriminalvårdare på en klass 1 anstalt i Sverige. Den insamlade empirin har analyserats med hjälp av Goffmans dramaturgiska perspektiv. <p>Uppsatsen behandlar privata angelägenheter på arbetstid som ett fenomen och ser till anställdas utförande av icke arbetsrelaterade sysslor av mer vardaglig karaktär. Undersökningen har genomförts med kvalitativa intervjuer på ett försäkringsföretag. Synen och förhållningssättet till privata angelägenheter behandlas och förstås ur ett ledningsperspektiv samt ur de anställdas perspektiv, vilket slutligen resulterar i en jämförelse mellan dessa.</p>
