Abstract:
As China develops very fast, it becomes an attractive market for foreign enterprises. A large number of documents such as technical instructions, product manuals, company websites need to be translated. High-equality translations are needed. Computer-aided translation is on the rise since it can improve translation quality and efficiency. Wordfast Pro as the second most widely used CAT tools after SDL Trados gets little attention for translators in China. After comparing some features of three computer-assisted translation tool: wordfast, SDL Trados and Memsource, it is found that Wordfast is easier to handle for PPT translations from English to Chinese. This paper will illustrate the translation procedures, problems and some recommendations using Wordfast. Through analysis of empirical studies of some instruction translation of PPT files, the author has proved the advantages of wordfast in dealing with PPT file in terms of interface, terminology management, translation omissions and network dependency. After reviewing the translation procedures and problems, it will facilitate those translators who intend to start using Wordfast and know more about it and speed up the translators’ work. Based on the current user experience, some recommendations for the software developers are also put forward which is of practical significance to improve the quality of CAT software. The suggestions for communication between clients and translators can improve the efficiency and make both sides feel satisfied.

Abstract:
In digital and computer forensics, file carving is a very hot research topic. That is the main reason why the research is needed to be focused on improving file carving techniques, so that digital investigation can obtain important data and evidence from damaged or corrupted storage media. In the digital forensic investigation, analyzing the unallocated space of storage media is necessary to extract the deleted or pre-written files when the file system metadata is missing or corrupted. Data carving can be defined as a method to recover the file from unallocated space based on different factors such as file type, information of the file (Header/Footer), or the contents of the file. Research in this area focuses on technological improvements in terms of tools and techniques over the past years. The studies examine different techniques of data carving, especially multimedia files (eg. images and videos). The work file carving is classified into three categories classic carving techniques, intelligent carving techniques and smart carving techniques. Moreover, there are seven popular multimedia carving tools that are mostly used and experimentally evaluated are presented. We conclude that proposing new advanced method for carving multimedia files still open and new direction for future research. This is because the fragmentations and compression are very commons used and useful for these kind of files.

Abstract:
Recently, the number of Internet of Things (IoT) devices, such as artificial intelligence (AI) speakers and smartwatches, using a Linux-based file system has increased. Moreover, these devices are connected to the Internet and generate vast amounts of data. To efficiently manage these generated data and improve the processing speed, the function is improved by updating the file system version or using new file systems, such as an Extended File System (XFS), B-tree file system (Btrfs), or Flash-Friendly File System (F2FS). However, in the process of updating the existing file system, the metadata structure may be changed or the analysis of the newly released file system may be insufficient, making it impossible for existing commercial tools to extract and restore deleted files. In an actual forensic investigation, when deleted files become unrecoverable, important clues may be missed, making it difficult to identify the culprit. Accordingly, a framework for extracting and recovering files based on The Sleuth Kit (TSK) is proposed by deriving the metadata changed in Ext4 file system journal checksum v3 and XFS file system v5. Thereafter, by comparing the accuracy and recovery rate of the proposed framework with existing commercial tools using the experimental dataset, we conclude that sustained research on file systems should be conducted from the perspective of forensics.

Abstract:
Introduction. The development of computer technology has given a new impetus to the use of computer steganography. However, it is important to understand the physical content of this type of steganography.Purpose. The work aims to describe the practical use and physical content of the phenomenon of computer steganography, the results of the study on the hiding of files in the stegocontainer.Results. Describes the main ns currently computer steganography methods are actively used to solve the following tasks: Protection of confidential information from unauthorized access, overcoming monitoring and management of net-work resources, software camouflage, copyright protection, which is manifested in the use of digital watermarks, is one of the most promising areas of computer steganography. Among the methods of hiding information in images, the most common is the category of algorithms using the lower bits of the image data. They are considered in this paper. These algorithms are based on the fact that in some file formats, the lower bits of the values, although present in the file, but do not affect a person's perception of sound or image. The steganographic software S-Tools was chosen for the study. We created two test monotonous images with the size of 50 × 50 pixels in 24-bit bmp format to analyze the peculiarities of the placement of stego-data in container files. We chose black and white images for the study. A text file was hidden in each of the images, after which the reverse action was performed - extracting the file. As a result of hiding, two stego files were obtained. The paper compared the binary content of the original images and files containing private data. For comparison, the binary content of the black square image and the contents of the stegocontainer with a latent text file are given. Note that the contents of the container and the stego file are only partially listed, but the addresses of the memory cells have selected accordingly. The right column shows the contents of the memory cells in hexadecimal format. The bytes that display the colour of the square are set to "00" because the original image contains only black. We noted that the contents of the cells responsible for the image changed after hiding additional data (this reflected by cells with values of "01"). The paper also describes the procedure for hiding a group of different types of files. During the study, we found that the image file (1920 × 1080 pixels) with a volume of 6,220,854 bytes can hide 777,584 bytes of information.Conclusion. When using steganography, the program uses some algorithms that hide confidential data among the contents of the container: bits of the hidden file replace the bits of the original file at random positions. Thus, the size of the source file and the container file (containing the attached information) is the same, even if you hide a different number of files or different amounts of data.

Abstract:
The presented research focuses upon the analysis of additional specific tools (namely translation memory (TM) technologies) of SDL Trados Studio 2017 and MemoQ Translator Pro 2017 automated translation systems and their application for translation of English-language instructions into Ukrainian. With the help of the above-mentioned software tools 60 English-language operating instructions for household appliances have been translated into Ukrainian (three projects were created in both systems, each containing 10 instructions). TM is a database consisting of segments of source text (sentences, paragraphs, headings, etc.) and translations of each of these segments. TM, used in both SDL Trados Studio and MemoQ Translator Pro systems, significantly improves the quality, speed, consistency and efficiency of each translation task. SDL Trados Studio 2017 and MemoQ Translator Pro 2017 compare content of the current segment of the source file with segments of the same language already contained in the TM. If the system finds a similar segment that is currently stored in the TM, it prompts the translator to use a ready-made translation. The degree of equivalence between the segment of the source document and the segment contained in the TM is expressed as a percentage. Thus, both software tools capture the cases of «Exact match», «Perfect match» and «Fuzzy match». SDL Trados Studio 2017 andMemoQ Translator Pro 2017 slightly differ in segment statuses and colour segment marking. Both systems do not make adjustments automatically, but their identification and navigation capabilities allow one to quickly correct such errors by hand. Unfortunately, the initial focus on the Russian-language market (and, consequently, on the Russian language system) has led to another peculiarity of automated translation into Ukrainian in SDL Trados Studio and MemoQ Translator Pro systems, namely a large number of stylistic errors that require quality personalized correction.

Abstract:
Background Data extraction tools (DETs) are increasingly being used for research and audit of general practice, despite their limitations. Objective This study explores the accuracy of Pap smear rates obtained with a DET compared to that of the Pap smear rate obtained with a manual file audit.Method A widely available DET was used to establish the rate of Pap smears in a large multi-general practice (multi-GP) in regional New South Wales followed by a manual audit of patient files. The main outcome measure was identification of possible discrepancies between the rates established. Results The DET used significantly underestimated the level of cervical screening compared to the manual audit. In some instances, the patient file contained phone/specialist record of Pap smear conducted elsewhere, which accounted for the failure of the DET to detect some smears. Those patients who had Pap smears whose pathology codes differed between time intervals, i.e. from different pathology providers or from within the same provider but using a different code, were less likely to have had their most recent Pap smear detected by the DET (p < 0.001).Conclusion Data obtained from DETs should be used with caution as they may not accurately reflect the rate of Pap smears from electronic medical records. How this fits in DETs are increasingly being used for research and audit of general practice. This study explores the accuracy of Pap smear rates obtained with a DET compared to that of the Pap smear rate obtained with a manual file audit The DET tested significantly underestimated the level of cervical screening compared to manual screening. Abstract:
As Voice over IP becomes more prevalent, value-adds to the service will become ubiquitous. Voice over IP (VoIP) is no longer a single service application, but an array of marketable services of increasing depth, which are moving into the non-desktop market. In addition, as the range of devices being generally used increases, it will become necessary for all services, including VoIP services, to be accessible from multiple platforms and through varied interfaces. With the recent introduction and growth of the open source software PBX system named Asterisk, the possibility of achieving these goals has become more concrete. In addition to Asterisk, a number of open source systems are being developed which facilitate the development of systems that interoperate over a wide variety of platforms and through multiple interfaces. This thesis investigates Asterisk in terms of its viability to provide the depth of services that will be required in a VoIP environment, as well as a number of other open source systems in terms of what they can offer such a system. In addition, it investigates whether these services can be made available on different devices. Using various systems built as a proof-of-concept, this thesis shows that Asterisk, in conjunction with various other open source projects, such as the Twisted framework provides a concrete tool which can be used to realise flexible and protocol independent telephony solutions for a small to medium enterprise.

Abstract:
Abstract Over the past ten years, the adoption of cloud services has grown rapidly, leading to the introduction of automated deployment tools to address the scale and complexity of the infrastructure companies and users deploy. Without the aid of automation, ensuring the security of an ever-increasing number of deployments becomes more and more challenging. To the best of our knowledge, no formal automated technique currently exists to verify cloud deployments during the design phase. In this case study, we show that Description Logic modeling and inference capabilities can be used to improve the safety of cloud configurations. We focus on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) proprietary declarative language, CloudFormation, and develop a tool to encode template files into logic. We query the resulting models with properties related to security posture and report on our findings. By extending the models with dataflow-specific knowledge, we use more comprehensive semantic reasoning to further support security reviews. When applying the developed toolchain to publicly available deployment files, we find numerous violations of widely-recognized security best practices, which suggests that streamlining the methodologies developed for this case study would be beneficial.

Abstract:
AbstractThe provision and dissemination of Open Data is a flourishing concept, which is highly recognized and established in the government and public administrations domains. Typically, the actual data is served as static file downloads, such as CSV or PDF, and the established software solutions for Open Data are mostly designed to manage this kind of data. However, the rising popularity of the Internet of things and smart devices in the public and private domain leads to an increase of available real-time data, like public transportation schedules, weather forecasts, or power grid data. Such timely and extensive data cannot be used to its full potential when published in a static, file-based fashion. Therefore, we designed and developed Ronda - an open source platform for gathering, processing and publishing real-time Open Data based on industry-proven and established big data and data processing tools. Our solution easily enables Open Data publishers to provide real-time interfaces for heterogeneous data sources, fostering more sophisticated and advanced Open Data use cases. We have evaluated our work through a practical application in a production environment.

In C-alike programs, the source code is separated into header files and source files. During the software evolution process, both these two kinds of files need to adapt to changing requirement and changing environment. This paper studies the coevolution of header files and source files of C-alike programs. Using normalized compression distance that is derived from Kolmogorov complexity, we measure the header file difference and source file difference between versions of an evolving software product. Header files distance and source files distance are compared to understand their difference in pace of evolution. Mantel tests are performed to investigate the correlation of header file evolution and source file evolution. The study is performed on the source code of Apache HTTP web server.

Abstract:
Is your computer a little problematic? Slowing down? And you’re not ready to call in expert help? Try these tricks. As always, back up important data first. 1. A surprising number of computer problems—inexplicable system crashes, random program shutdowns, “not enough memory” errors—are caused by faulty RAM chips. These errors are normally hard to diagnose by yourself, but on Windows, the free program Memtest86 (http://www.mem test86.com) makes it easy. On Macintosh OS 9, use RAM Check 2.1, which can be downloaded at http://ftp.traffictrak.com/RAMCheck21.sit or http://download.digidesign.com/support/digi/mac/utilities/ RMCheck210.sea.hqx(.) You can also try Techtool Pro for OS 9 or OS X. 2. Four big demons of computers are dust, heat, moisture, and static. You can take some preventive measures, like covering your CPU and monitor when they’re not in use and protecting your computer by drinking your coffee away from the computer, but demons will strike no matter what you do, and they manifest their presence in odd ways. The most common is disk corruption, which shows up as disappearing or corrupt files and folders. Regular disk maintenance is important to keep these demons at bay. The most well-known tool for repairing disk drives is Norton Utilities (http://www.symantec.com), which is included in Norton System Works. You can use it to diagnose and fix already corrupt files, but it is most useful for preventive maintenance. Using these utilities to optimize or defragment your hard drive on a regular basis makes individual files as contiguous as possible, which can increase the speed at which files and programs are opened. However, Norton Utilities can sometimes cause problems of its own, particularly on older computers, if it is installed to run in the background. If you open System Works and click on Options, Norton Utilities, and then the Startup tab, you can uncheck the boxes that would instruct the program to start whenever you boot up. Then it’s up to you to decide how often you need to activate it, perhaps somewhere between once a week and once a month.

Abstract:
Integrating the use of Web-based and mobile technology applications into K-12 world languages contexts requires innovative teacher preparation models. This chapter evaluates a multi-step technology integration unit that develops in pre-service teachers the skills necessary to plan and carry out learner-centered communicative instruction. Importantly, this unit also incorporates five skills for disruptive innovators. Pre-service teachers blend pedagogy, technology tools, and content in project-based learning lesson design while practicing creative-thinking skills. As student teachers learn to repurpose mobile applications for the language-learning classroom, they empower articulate digital natives and foster 21st century learning. Given technology's constant growth, teaching integration of specific apps will have limited benefits. On the other hand, teaching how to innovate and repurpose will serve student teachers for their entire career. Results of this study show growth in lesson planning, creativity, and innovation skills.

Abstract:
In this chapter, we will examine some ways to interact with audio processing objects in formal compositions. Examples of traditional instrumentalists interacting with Max patches in concert performances are common. In the interest of copyright availability, we will examine a composition of mine for E♭clarinet and computer (a Max patch). The remaining example patches in this chapter will deal with audio processing as it relates to hearing and some aspects of perception. In this composition, discourse, the clarinetist plays from a score while the Max patch “listens” to the performer (using a microphone) and processes the clarinet sound in predetermined ways. The Max patch follows a time-based “score” of its own for performing the effects on the clarinet sound and, thus, processes the audio signal the same way each time the piece is performed. Our purpose in exploring this patch has less to do with the effects that are used or any aesthetic you get from the piece than with the implementation of a usable timeline that both the clarinetist and the computer can perform to. 1. Open the file discourse.maxpat from within the folder discourse located in the Chapter 20 Examples folder When the space bar is pressed, a clocker within the patch will begin triggering the events in the Max patch; this is like the score for the computer. These events assume that since the user has pressed the space bar, the patch can expect to hear the notes of the score played back at tempo to coincide with the different audio processing taking place within the patch. Unless you happen to have your E♭clarinet handy (a PDF of the score is also available in the discourse folder), we will use a demo sound file of a synthesized clarinet playing this piece in lieu of actually performing it. This will give us a sense of what the piece would sound like if we were to perform the clarinet part live.

Abstract:
Abstract The growing emphasis on environmentally conscious design and manufacturing approaches has placed new burdens on designers. The amount of information available to designers is of great significance in making life cycle assessments on a product. However, well-established commercial CAD systems do not provide means for evaluating most of the different life cycle aspects of the product being modeled. Hence there is a need to have a CAD-environment where the life cycle tools (DFX tools in this work) are integrated with these systems so that life cycle design is made possible. In the research discussed in this paper, the specific focus is to enable the quantification and enhancement of product assemblability, serviceability, recyclability, remanufacturability, de-manufacturability, and life cycle impact during product design. Guidelines for integrating some of the commercially available CAD packages (I-DEAS and Pro/ENGINEER) to these assessment models, and ways to use the input information to some these assessments for making other assessments are developed. A case study is given to illustrate the approach.

Abstract:
In this paper we present a web-based computer-aided design modeling and manufacturing methodology for spherical mechanisms. Our purpose is to facilitate the analysis, dynamic simulation, and manufacture of one degree of freedom spherical four-bar mechanisms. First, a brief review of some of the current computer-aided design (CAD) software for spherical four-bar mechanisms, e.g. SPHINX, SPHINXPC, ISIS, and OSIRIS is presented. These software packages provide the three-dimensional visualization and computational capabilities necessary to design spherical four-bar mechanisms. However, to date no readily available and effective tools exist to aid in the modeling and manufacture of spherical mechanisms. Next, the kinematics of spherical four-bar mechanisms are reviewed as they pertain to their geometric modeling and manufacture. Finally, we present our web-based implementation of a computer-aided modeling, simulation, and manufacturing methodology for spherical four-bar mechanisms called SPHINXCAM-Pro|E. SPHINXCAM-Pro|E, when used with the CAD tools mentioned above, facilitates the design, dynamic simulation, prototyping, and manufacture of spherical four-bar mechanisms.

Abstract:
In this paper a robotic micro-drilling technique for surgery is described. The device has been deployed in cochleostomy, a precise micro-surgical procedure where the critical stage of controlling penetration of the outer bone tissue of the cochlea is achieved without penetration of the endosteal membrane at the medial surface. The significance of the work is that the device navigates by using transients of the reactive drilling forces to discriminate cutting conditions, state of tissue and the detection of the medial surface before drill break-out occurs. This is the first autonomous surgical robot to use this technique in real-time as a navigation function in the operating room and unlike other fully autonomous surgical robotic processes it is carried out without the use pre-operative data to control the motion of the tool. To control tool points in flexible tissues requires self-referencing to the tissue position in real time. There is also the need to discriminate deflections of the tissue, tissue interface, involuntary patients/ tissue movement and indeed movement induced by the drill itself which require different strategies to be selected for control. As a result of the design of the final system, the break-out process of the drill can either controlled to the required level of pro-trusion through the flexible interface or can be avoided altogether, with the drill bit at the medial surface. This enables, for the first time, the control of fine penetration with such great precision.

A generative automotive engine CAPP (Computer-Aided-Process Planning) system based on Oracle database was developed. A practical tolerance information communication solution between the CAD and CAPP system was proposed and realized in an independent file schema. A parametrical cylinder head model based on manufacturing feature was created to meet the requirements of the CAPP system feature recognizing. The data structure of the tolerance information in the Pro/ENGINEERING database was presented. A Pro/TOOLKIT program was developed to extract the model’s tolerance information automatically. The tolerance information extracted was then organized with EXPRESS language and imported into the CAPP system database Oracle.

Abstract:
This paper presents a summary of a task to provide individual Navy project engineers with analytical tools that enable them to perform Weibull failure and related analyses on a desktop computer. Similar tools have been available on mainframe computers for over a decade while only fragmented and incomplete tools existed for desktop computers. There is now available an integrated computer program that allows Navy project engineers and other Navy analysts to perform rigorous trade-off and what-if analyses in an interactive manner without having to send the problem off to their organizational central computer facility. The resulting computer codes exist in several forms to fit the various needs and computer configurations, such as: direct input of data, data file creation and update, and non-printing versions for those who have no printer available. Included in the codes are three Monte Carlo routines and several test plan generation codes. These codes have not been released to the general public as yet and are currently restricted to Navy units such as laboratories, Naval Aircraft Rework Facilities (NARF) and the Naval Air Systems Command Headquarters (NAVAIR). Public release is expected in mid-FY 89.

Abstract:
The paper presents two software tools (graphical editor and software package). The editor is designed for the formation of a symbolic description of a mechanical system using the Lagrange formalism. A system of the absolutely rigid bodies connected by joints is considered as a mechanical system. The editor is a user interface by which one sets the structure of the interconnection of bodies (system configuration) as well as the geometric and kinematic characteristics for each body of the system. The created structure and the entered data are automatically presented in the form of a text file, which is used as an input file for the software package for modeling mechanical systems in a symbolic form with a computer. The use of these software tools is shown in detail in the example of the analysis of the dynamics of a satellite with a gravitational stabilizer in a circular orbit. For this system, the kinetic energy and force function of an approximate Newtonian gravitational field were obtained, nonlinear and linearized equations of motion were constructed, and the question of the stability of the relative equilibrium position was considered.

Abstract The objective of beverage and food can design is to minimize cost while maintaining structural integrity. The package must satisfy requirements of internal pressure, drop pressure, and axial column load. Finite element analysis allows the designer to examine these structural constraints before prototypes are created so a larger design space can be examined in a shorter time. Hyper-Can was created as a tool in the Macintosh environment to automate the design and analysis process and reduce the design cycle time in a user-friendly way. Hyper-Can contains templates or families of designs of standard beverage and food can ends and bodies that calculate geometric information for finite element analysis pre-processing and fill and metal volume calculation using external Fortran code. Hyper-Can allows the designer to manipulate a standard design from the conceptual stage to analysis utilizing a simple graphical interface on the Macintosh.

Abstract:
Abstract A web-based, a platform-independent software framework is developed to integrate distributed, heterogeneous software resources into an open product design/manufacturing system. We identify failings in previous systems, P2 and PRE-RMI, and propose systematic methods for the design of a software framework and implementation of a communication mechanism within that framework. An activity architecture of the product realization process is constructed based on the necessary interaction among engineers. This activity architecture is mapped onto a coordination architecture specifying the framework of the distributed software tools and resources. Thus the software framework is constructed based on the requirements of collaboration and communication between engineers. In addition, instead of exchanging information between engineers, the information flows are refined into message flows and data flows. Short commands and specific results are broadcast within product development groups in the form of messages, and large files are transferred directly as data flows. A prototype platform independent software framework, Web-based Distributed Product Realization Environment (WEB-DPR), is presented and its use in designing and manufacturing a high-speed robot arm is described.
