This study investigates the morning commute problem in a single corridor with a bottleneck under a fully automated vehicle environment. By extending Vickrey’s bottleneck model, we formulate the joint decisions on departure time and parking choices of morning commuters who make trade-offs among travel cost, the cost associated with parking, and the cost of tradable credits. To alleviate traffic congestion and improve social welfare, we propose a time-varying tradable credit scheme and integrate it with the morning commute problem. As the local authority aims to maximize its local social welfare, it determines the quantity of cross-boundary trips by evaluating the revenue of the cross-boundary traffic. Bank financial institutions have a role in developing the economic system. Banks have a role as distributors and collect funds from the public. The collection process involves receiving funds from the public in the form of savings. Meanwhile, in the process of distributing funds, banks provide credit to the public in the form of loans or credits. In providing credit, banks generally provide additional charges in the form of collateral. Guarantees are intended to provide certainty regarding the debtor's ability to pay off debts, which are also intended to avoid the risk of bad credit.

Rural preferential loans usually take the form of portfolio credits. From the perspective of public interest, the total delay time for obtaining loans is expected to be minimized. To use rural portfolio credits effectively, the two-dimensional strip packing grouping delay problem (2SPGDP) is improved to optimize the rural portfolio credit granting system. First, 2SPGDP is established by adding grouping constraints and the latest start time constraints to the two-dimensional strip packing problem, and the total delay is taken as the optimization objective. We model securitization as an optimal contracting problem between investors and banks. Banks are better informed than investors about the quality of the mortgages they originate, leading to an adverse selection problem. Investors use the quantity sold as a screening device to induce banks to reveal truthful information. We find that adverse selection amplifies the response of a bank’s mortgage originations to house price shocks. The degree of amplifica

Abstract:
Governments often support private credit with guarantee schemes, compensating lenders for borrower defaults. Such schemes typically rely on banks allocating guarantees among borrowers, but how banks do so is not well understood. We study this in an economy where entrepreneurial effort, crucial for efficiency, is not contractible, creating a debt overhang problem. Credit guarantees can boost efficiency only if they lower repayment obligations, but their allocation by banks is subject to two distorsions. First, insofar as guarantees are scarce, banks extract rents from all allocated guarantees.

Abstract:
This paper analyzes empirically the relationship between monetary policy interventions and the net interest margin of Colombian credit institutions for the 2003 – 2019 period. Considering the endogeneity problem that arises when analysing this relationship, we calculate a series of monetary policy shocks as the residuals of regressing the monetary policy rate on a set of quantifiable variables that the Central Bank of Colombia’s Board of Directors had at each of its monetary policy meetings. Thereafter, we conduct a panel regression analysis in which we relate these shocks, and a set of macroe

Abstract:
Using Colombian credit vintage data, we decompose the non-performing loans into one component that captures the evolution of the payment capacity of borrowers, and other component that captures changes in the credit risk taken by the financial system at the time of loan disbursement. We use intrinsic estimators and penalized regression techniques to overcome the perfect multicollinearity problem that the model entails. We find that these two type of components have evolved differently over time, and that good economic conditions and loose financial conditions improve the payment capacity of bo

Abstract:
The author identifies sources of volatility in Argentina that include weak international financial links, a recurrent credit crunch and financial underdevelopment problem, a fragile fiscal situation, and a pervasive profit and collateral squeeze mechanism brought about by a rigid labor market and exchange rate system. The paper's policy recommendations include improving external financial links, continuing and accelerating the path of domestic financial deepening, giving very high priority to the reduction of the public debt burden problem, and addressing the fundamental incompatibility betwee

Abstract:
An undistorted free market economy endowed with perfectly rational and informed agents overborrows, i.e., borrows beyond the efficient level, because of the agents' failure to internalize credit rationing resulting from sovereign risk. It follows that the elimination of the market overborrowing will not cure private overborrowing. This paper explores the possibilities of economic policy as a remedy to the problem.
