In this paper, the task “Number Triangle” stands for problem fields. The problem field in question is planned by the author to be used in the Finnish comprehensive school. With its aid, our purpose is to show how open teaching acts in practice. The most important in these problem tasks is the way they are presented in teaching: A problem field should be offered to pupils little by little. And the continuation in the problem field depends always on pupils’ answers. The answers of problems are not given here, since they are not as important as pupils’ independent solving of problems. A problem is typically defined prior to an architectural process and the result is seen as a solution. The process as a whole is conceived as problem solving. However, the artistic element of the process is inseparable from constructing the problem. From the artistic point of view the solution is merely a derivative. Conventional understanding of artistic creation is sometimes coloured by the misconception that invention first and foremost takes place in the mind of the artist parallel or prior to the actual process. This work studies the extension problem for subsets of finite fields. This remains an important unsolved problem in harmonic analysis, in both the Euclidean and finite field setting. We survey the partial results obtained to date, common techniques, and open conjectures. In the case of a homogeneous variety H over a d-dimensional finite field, the L² to L⁴ boundedness is proved whenever H contains no hyperplanes. This is accomplished by proving an incidence theorem for cones of this type, and applying a sufficient condition for L² to L²m obtained by Mockenhaupt and Tao in their 2004 introducto

The constrained isoperimetric problem asks when we can find a subset S of C that maximizes the Følner ratio FR(S) = |S|/|∂S|. We consider different measures for subsets of R^2,R^3,Z^2,Z^3 and describe the properties that must be satisfied for sets S that maximize the Folner ratio. We give explicit examples.

Abstract:
The 4D low-energy limit of string compactifications is characterised by the ubiquitous presence of string moduli which are new gravitationally coupled scalar fields which develop mass via supersymmetry breaking effects. During inflation it is generically expected that these fields receive large contributions to their mass of order the Hubble constant. They are therefore shifted from their minimum and after the end of inflation start oscillating around it behaving as non-relativistic matter. Given that matter redshifts slower than radiation, the moduli quickly come to dominate the energy densit

This thesis is a critical examination of phenomenological nuclear mean field theories, focusing on reliable description of levels of individual particles. The approach presented here is new in the sense that it not only allows to predict the numerical values obtained with this formalism, but also yields an estimate of the probability distributions corresponding to the experimental results. We introduce the concept of 'theoretical errors' to estimate uncertainties in theoreticalmodels.
