Abstract:
Clinical trials are crucial in determining the effectiveness of treatments and directly affect clinical and policy decisions. These decisions are undermined if the data are problematic due to data fabrication or other errors. Researchers have worked on developing statistical methods to detect problematic data. This project aims to develop new methods and apply them to results reported in the ClinicalTrials.gov database. Using both established and and the newly developed statistical methods we will investigate the prevalence of problematic data, trends of problematic data over time, and whether

Although they are hyperdiverse and intensively studied, parasites present major challenges when it comes to phylogenetics, taxonomy, and biodiversity informatics. The collection of any parasitic organism entails the linking of at least two specimens - the parasite and the host. If the parasite has a complex life cycle, then this becomes further complicated by requiring the linking of three or more hosts, such as the parasite, its intermediate host (vector) and its definitive host(s). Parasites are sometimes collected as byproduct of another collection event and are not studied immediately - wh

In most counties, if an indigent criminal defendant gets representation at all, it comes from assigned counsel or flat-fee contract lawyers rather than public defenders. This article presents and discusses different kinds of data documents, including data sets, data studies, data papers and data journals. It provides descriptive and bibliometric data on different kinds of data documents and discusses the theoretical and philosophical problems by classifying documents according to the DIKW model (data documents, information documents, knowledge documents and wisdom documents). Data documents are, on the one hand, an established category today, even with its own data citation index (DCI). On the other hand, data documents have blurred boundaries in relation to

Problematic Internet Use (PIU) has of late come to the major attention of researchers of risky behaviours. For parents and teachers in turn, the various pathological forms of Internet use have become more and more noticeable. In recent years, the operationalisation of the term PIU has also been discussed and attempts to measure its various phenomena have been made. The popularity of IoT devices is gaining interest among consumers. The growing number of consumers benefiting from IoT devices and the use of IoT technologies has increased the risk of cyberattacks. The Internet of Things is an important “crossroads” for several technologies. As a result, it is possible to connect smart physical goods and enable smart decision-making in a wide range of applications. Different devices, including computers, actuators and sensors, can connect to each other and exchange data in a networked environment. The supply of smart objects on the market is growing, so ensur
