Appropriate Technology Application for MSME Organic Waste Processing as Worm Feed Abstract. Waste is a problem that has not been resolved, therefore to reduce the adverse effects caused by waste, it is necessary to innovate waste management in order to have economic value. With this innovation in managing waste, the community can reduce the level of waste accumulation and reduce air pollution, especially for processing organic waste. CV. Rumah Alama Jaya (RAJ) Organics is a partner in this program because it produces worm feed using raw materials for organic waste. However, there are obstacles

Abstract Key engineering issues influencing the development of supercritical water oxidation for waste treatment are reviewed. Major chemical pathways and kinetics for hydrolysis and oxidation reactions of model organic wastes are discussed. In selective examples, results from extensive laboratory-scale measurements are compared with molecular simulations of solvation and reaction effects in supercritical water. Connections between reaction chemistry and observed corrosion in supercritical water oxidation processing equipment are discussed to underscore the importance of understanding electroc

Abstract The Effluent Treatment Facility (ETF) at the Hanford site is a multi-waste treatment facility that accepts a variety of mixed wastes from other areas of the Hanford site. Visual inspections of the ETF components have revealed pitting below the water line in the secondary waste receiving tanks and concentrate tanks, which are constructed of stainless steels (SS). The exact cause of the pitting is still uncertain given the variety of waste sources and range of processing strategies in the ETF. One possible cause of the pitting relates to the use of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), which is add

The pulp and paper industry, a major consumer of freshwater, generates wastewater rich in contaminants, including ammonia, chemical oxygen demand (COD), total suspended solids (TSS), and organic materials. Effective treatment of this liquid pulp waste is crucial to prevent environmental pollution. This study investigated the microbiological treatment of primary pulp industry liquid waste using the petrophilic bacterium Brevundimonas diminuta. The research assessed the bacterium's capacity to degrade ammonia, COD, and TSS under varying aeration rates (0 L/min, 2.25 L/min, and 4.5 L/min) and obs

Abstract Gel coat has traditionally been used in environments where color, gloss and relative long-term performance are important. This premise is still true today; however, a much more advanced technology has been developed that provides improved characteristics of color and gloss stability, higher mechanical properties and zero Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC’s). This newest advancement in coating technology can be utilized in a wide variety of applications and substrates including concrete, fiberglass, and metal while meeting SSPC (The Society for Protective Coatings) standards. Abstract The most widely used inhibitors in the electronics industry are chromates, phosphates, and silicates in chip processing and azoles in printed circuit board (PCB) fabrication. Azoles are the principal constituents of Organic Solderability Preservatives (OSPs) used on bare copper that could replace Hot Air Solder Leveling (HASL). For years HASL has been the most prevalent surface finishing process in PCB fabrication. This process is currently under scrutiny, because of safety and environment concerns (lead exposure, waste disposal), process limitations (stress, extendibility to fine-pit

Abstract This paper will provide information on the standards used in evaluating and determining correct application and selection of protective coatings and linings used in the wastewater industry. It will also highlight certification that can be used in evaluating contractors and inspection companies used in the coating and lining process. A city of 100,000 people requires 10 to 20 million gallons of water daily. The resulting wastewater produced daily contains 20 to 60 tons of solids. In treatment facilities processing these large quantities of water and wastewater, concrete is exposed to a
