Achieving a good level of cross-fertilization between male and female parents in hybrid wheat production is a challenge. Despite the longstanding interest in hybrid wheat, there is little published data on floral traits which may enhance outcrossing. In this study genetic analysis of a lumber of floral traits was carried out and the effect on outcrossing ability of these traits assessed. The results will facilitate genetic improvements of traits which influence seed set in hybrid wheat production.

Aspen (Populus tremula L.) accounts for about 2% of the total wood stock in Sweden. Sawmills use only a small part (about 5,000 m³fub) of round wood aspen per year. Since there are no Swedish gradings and design values for aspen, no aspen is used for structural purposes. This also applies to other hardwood trees in Sweden. In all experiments, nectar and concentration of flowers were measured and total sugar was calculated. Flowers do not produce additional nectar unless nectar is removed, and it is not resorbed. Abstract:

This paper intends to deal with the process characteristics of ECM and how it is affected by the process parameters. This work shows a study of the intervening variables in electrochemical machining (ECM) of mild steel (C=0.08%, Mn=0.35%, P=0.014%, S=0.018%, Si=0.017%, Fe=rest). The material removal rate (MRR) was studied. Two parameters were changed during the experiments: feed rate and voltage. Sodium chloride solution was taken as electrolyte (100gm/lt). The results show that feed rate was the main parameter affecting the MRR.
