Abstract:
This thesis examines Knowledge Exchange (KE) seminars and the wider social, political, and economic environment in which they are situated Two-way interactive exchanges between academics and Non-Academic Professionals (NAPs) have been identified as an important factor in explaining why some academic research is used by NAPs, or not (Meagher et al, 2008; Mitton et al, 2007; Lavis et al, 2003; Hanney et al, 2003). Despite this, very little research has examined the social occasions where such exchanges occur. This thesis aims to fill this lacuna by examining the process of knowledge exchange thr

Abstract:
Disruption is something that we must negotiate as part of our everyday lives. The context of disruption can vary in nature from being positive to being negative in nature. However, the emotional effects of the disruption have not been investigated in the social psychological literature. This study utilizes structuralized ritualization affect theory of social exchange, attribution theory, and the theory of relational cohesion in order to investigate the effects of disruption on the overall positive emotion of the actors involved and their feelings of cohesiveness with regard to their group.

Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento CientÃfico e TecnolÃgico<br>Boron, among micronutrients, is one that appears most often deficient in the soil, mainly due to the low availability of land and lack of knowledge of application and crop response to their application. As to the low availability in the soil, this condition is aggravated when the water shortage, since the mechanism involved in the contact with the root of boron is the mass flow that is directly proportional to the hydraulic conductivity. Regarding response to nutrient culture, it is believed that the optimal range between toxic a

Abstract:
The token economy is a widely used and versatile motivational system within applied behavior analysis. Moreover, token reinforcement procedures have been shown to be highly effective in the treatment of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). In the experimental analysis of behavior, token reinforcement contingencies are conceptualized as three interconnected schedule components: (1) the token-production schedule, (2) the exchange-production schedule, and (3) the token-exchange schedule. Basic work with nonhuman subjects has demonstrated that the exchange-production schedule is the prima

Abstract:
Chapter I reviews current literature on gene transfer systems in lactic acid bacteria, how genetically altered microorganisms for food are presently regulated, and how nisin is used as a food preservative. Chapter II investigates previous reports which linked genes for nisin biosynthesis and sucrose utilization (Nip+Suc+) to plasmid DNA in two well characterized L· lactis subsp. lactis strains. Plasmid curing studies, conjugations, and DNA-DNA hybridizations indicated that these genes were encoded by chromosomal loci in all Nip+Suc+ strains examined. Similar results were noted in nisin-sucrose
