The solution to unemployment is often seen as lying in renewed economic growth leading to industrial expansion. The Index of Production (IOP) gives a measure of total industrial output for which the associated number of employees is also available. Productivity may then be defined as production per employee and an index generated by dividing the IOP by the number of employees. Increases of both production and productivity are seen as implicit in economic growth and high, medium and low growth trends may be extrapolated for both. This allows nine combinations of Production and Productivity to b

The present paper sheds light on major food-grain crop production and productivity trends in Uttar Pradesh. The study was conducted using data from 2010 to 2020. As one of India’s largest agricultural economies and the foremost producer of food grains, Uttar Pradesh has demonstrated positive growth in total food production from 2010-11 to 2019-20. The area dedicated to food grain cultivation has experienced only minor fluctuations and a slight increase, indicating that the rise in production is primarily due to enhanced crop productivity. Among the various categories, coarse cereals have

Modern economies are organised as webs of interconnected agents. Among others, companies represent the principal actors. In the recent decades, the emergence of supply networks, that is the organisation of technical processes in production stages involving specialised suppliers located in different countries, brings about an increasing complexity in the worldwide economic system. Moreover, empirical studies from firm-level data provide evidence of heterogeneous distribution in companies performance also within industries, regions and countries. The results of studying the productivity of hayfield depending on the weather conditions of the growing periods in the Central region of the Non-Chernozem zone of the Russia are presented. The maximum productivity was obtained in warm and humid growing periods; in the conditions of insufficient moisture the yield decreases by 11–34 %, depending on hayfield management system. The use of mineral fertilizers leads to increase the resistance of hayfield productivity to adverse weather conditions.
