Full textThe expansion of food markets in Abidjan come within the framework of a fast and recently decentralized urbanization. Different in their size and in the way they set up, the markets have conquered new territories and spread widely over the city. So urban consumers have access to abundant and various provisions. Highly structured trade networks control the supplying of the business capital of Côte d'Ivoire. Besides their supplying function, the markets open the way to modest but regular source of income for women. Moreover, they reinforce the urbanization by creating new buildings and livening areas up. New policies of market construction reveal the interest the authorities take in these spaces. However privatization raises social and town-planning problems

Full textIvory Cost economic growth is based on the numerous natural and human resources of agriculture. Among the first world producers of coffee and cocoa, this country is still bound to import a large part of its food consumption, mainly cereals. Several surveys on the fundamental reasons of i. C's food problems have pointed out the socio-economical phenomena specific to the general organisation of food distribution. We have delbierately chosen not to focus on the economical aspects only in order to shwo these phenomena in a spatial frame they help to understand. Considering that i. C. 's territory is the support of an economical activity it shelters, our problematic relies on the following questions: how do the food distirbution systems incite a particular shape of spatial organisation in the areas of the territory and mutually, how does the spatial organisation influence the food distribution in ivory cost? The answers to those questions are in the survey of agricultural economy, of geographical space and of social relations in Ivory Cost

Full textThis survey analyzes the way of organization and the commercial techniques in use among some feminine food crops sellers; in a context of liberalization of the ivorian's economy and diffusion of a new cooperative law (law n° 97-721 of december 23, 1997). It's all about some selected feminine cooperatives in Abidjan which operate in the distribution and commercialization of food products. It's essentially qualitative and it led itself on the basis of interviews, observations and narrations of life. The sensitization and the formation of the feminine traders to follow the new cooperative law, aim to "modernize" the system of organization of the trade of the food products a long time marked of the seal of the ill-organization by the public powers. But actually, this law is not fully adhered to; as the ancient organization affected by ethnical and family connections, competences and practical experiences. These have for mould the primary shapes of social relations (ethnic group, relationship, religion, solidarity, etc. ), the social networks, the grant, expertises and the convenient experiences. They found the social efficiency of the system of progress of the trade of the food products. For that reason, all shapes of satisfactions that they produce are applicable indicators in the setting of actions taken to reinforce and transform the fashion of organization and the commercial practices in use

Full textNowadays, artisanal maritime fishery is known to be in great development in Côte-d’Ivoire. This development is essentially animated by fishermen coming from neighbouring ghana, specially fante and ewe fishermen, established in numerous places along the Ivoirian Coast. This ghanaian canoe fishermen's dynamism is often reduced to sui generis characters which would make them great migrant fishermen in contrast with ivoirian farmers, and thus interpreted in reference to fixed "traditons". But this situation is much more the product of historical processes. The matter is thus, through the identification and analysis of contexts and periods, to analyse these processes in their various forms; in fact, theses processes are not only the result of the combination of what is seen as objective conditions but also connected with the ideological construction of the colonial and independant ivoirian state and with the formation of social groups within it. The question is also to understand the forming of the groups of fante and ewe fishermen in the Ivoirian context, their present working where migration and settlement are closely articulated, and the production of historical memories by these groups through the collect and interpretation of oral relations about the founding of fishing settlements and fishermen's biographical elements

Full textThe proliferation of serial and personal injury by products implies product safety as a major societal concern. Beyond the expansion of product risks, it's States incapacity, evidenced by the lack or the inadequacy of legal means of prevention that matters. It is also the economic activity that is in question. And if the need for product safety must be filled, whether to preserve life and health against the dangers of products, common sense is required: Prevention is better than effective cure, reparation or sanction. Therefore, it is little more than prevention at the request, but imposing a process, particularly through the requirements of the UN, WHO, of the SPS and TBT WTO and especially to UEMOA whose subtlety reflects the extent of the responsibilities of the Ivorian government and economic forces. The formers are responsible for internal public order and should reform the incomplete legal and institutional framework of an integrated risk control of products. The laters are responsible for the safety of their products, and are prompted to the internalisation of risk management that will certainly allow them to limiting the costs of liability

Full textThis thesis is devoted to the study of phosphate ions adsorption processes by natural minerals of Ivory Coast, i.e. shale, sandstone and laterite mainly. Phosphate sorption by shale was first investigated in batch and column experiments. Batch experiments allowed the assessment of the influence of initial phosphate concentration, sorbent dosage, contact time, and pH on phosphate removal. The phosphate removal efficiency increased with increasing shale dosage while phosphate uptake decreased. Phosphate uptake strongly depended on pH, decreasing first with increasing pH in the range of 2-11 and then increasing at the highest pH value of 12. A correlation between aqueous Ca, Mg, Al, and Fe concentrations and phosphate uptake was observed. The kinetics was well described using the pseudo-second order model and isotherms with Langmuir sorption model. Column experiments with a flow rate of 1 ml min-1 and 25 mg L-1 initial phosphate concentration showed a breakthrough point at V/Vp of ~17 corresponding to a phosphate uptake of 0.2 mg g-1 in agreement with batch experiments. The performance of shale was evaluated as filter material in (Vertical Flow Constructed Wetland) VFCW in removal of phosphate ions, nitrogen, suspended solids, and organic compounds, using municipal wastewater. The influence of both shale granulometry and plants density was evaluated. The shale with the finest particle size offers a slightly higher efficiency. The flow rate decreased after wastewater treatment and the fooling is less pronounced for planted VFCW. The filter with the highest plant density offers only slightly higher efficiency towards phosphate and nitrate removal. The phosphate sorption capacity of the plants is negligible confirming the importance in the choice of the filter medium. Finally, phosphate removal by shale was compared to sandstone and laterite in both batch and column experiments. The different chemical compositions of the materials influence strongly the reactivity towards phosphate ions. It is supposed that the status of iron in the material, i.e. in substitution in clays in shale and occurring as hematite and goethite in laterite and sandstone, explained the differences of reactivity. Both batch and column experiments revealed that phosphate uptake decreased in the following ranking order laterite > sandstone > shale. These three materials appear as promising filter materials in VFCW
