Abstract This segment of history aims to inform the new, and remind the not-so-new, members of the profession about the relatively recent period that initiated the dominant role played by technological innovation in the modern investigation of disease. The 12 years from 1948 to 1960 were notable for introduction of the Vacutainer tube, electrophoresis, radioimmunoassay, and the AutoAnalyzer. Also appearing during this interval were new organizations, publications, programs, and services that established a firm foundation for the professional status of clinical chemists. It was a golden age.

Abstract:
This study on the life of men in the Sangam period explains the life norms that the men in the Sangam period depended on their profession and through their profession, they earned income and strived to achieve family honour. There were many professions such as brahmins (Antaṇar), king, shepherd, salt merchant, farmer, butcher, carpenter, fisherman, and merchant. Through this article, we can learn about the divisions that existed at that time. It can be known that the cultivators who lived in the lands of Kurinji, Mullai, Marutham, Neithal and Palai were farmers, fishermen and hunters (Eyinar)who excelled in business. Although the people differed among themselves in occupations according to castes, they lived in close contact with each other in the five types of land. The study clarifies that the way of life of the Sangam people is based on the barter system of selling the goods available in one land and buying the goods they need in another land. Although there sare various differences in professions, the people of the Sangam period have been living together. Men of the Sangam era have been well-known for their bravery in social organizations and in helping the government. Men of the Sangam age lived a pure and happy life, distinguished by heroic status, morals and hospitality.

Abstract:
SummaryMedical biochemistry is the usual name for clinical biochemistry or clinical chemistry in Serbia, and medical biochemist is the official name for the clinical chemist (or clinical biochemist). This is the largest sub-discipline of the laboratory medicine in Serbia. It includes all aspects of clinical chemistry, and also laboratory hematology with coagulation, immunology, etc. Medical biochemistry laboratories in Serbia and medical biochemists as a profession are part of Health Care System and their activities are regulated through: the Health Care Law and rules issued by the Chamber of Medical Biochemists of Serbia. The first continuous and organized education for Medical Biochemists (Clinical Chemists) in Serbia dates from 1945, when the Department of Medical Biochemistry was established at the Pharmaceutical Faculty in Belgrade. In 1987 at the same Faculty a five years undergraduate study program was established, educating Medical Biochemists under a special program. Since the academic year 2006/2007 the new five year undergraduate (according to Bologna Declaration) and four-year postgraduate program according to EC4 European Syllabus for Postgraduate Training in Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine has been established. The Ministry of Education and Ministry of Public Health accredited these programs. There are four requirements for practicing medical biochemistry in the Health Care System: University Diploma of the Faculty of Pharmacy (Study of Medical Biochemistry), successful completion of the professional exam at the Ministry of Health after completion of one additional year of obligatory practical training in the medical biochemistry laboratories, membership in the Serbian Chamber of Medical Biochemists and licence for skilled work issued by the Serbian Chamber of Medical Biochemists. Full text
Abstract:
In handball, the way the team organizes itself in defense can greatly impact the player’s activity and displacement during the play, therefore impacting the match demands. This paper aims (1) to develop an automatic tool to detect and classify the defensive organization of the team based on the local positioning system data and check its classification quality, and (2) to quantify the match demands per defensive organization, i.e., defining a somehow cost of specific defensive organizations. For this study, LPS positional data (X and Y location) of players from a team in the Spanish League were analyzed during 25 games. The algorithm quantified the physical demands of the game (distance stand, walk, jog, run and sprint) broken down by player role and by specific defensive organizations, which were automatically detected from the raw data. Results show that the different attacking and defending phases of a game can be automatically detected with high accuracy, the defensive organization can be classified between 1–5, 0–6, 2–4, and 3–3. Interestingly, due to the highly adaptive nature of handball, differences were found between what was the intended defensive organization at a start of a phase and the actual organization that can be observed during the full defensive phase, which consequently impacts the physical demands of the game. From there, quantifying for each player role the cost of each specific defensive organization is the first step into optimizing the use of the players in the team and their recovery time, but also at the team level, it allows to balance the cost (i.e., physical demand) and the benefit (i.e., the outcome of the defensive phase) of each type of defensive organization.

Abstract:
John P Peters is considered one of the founders of modern clinical chemistry. In more than 200 research articles, he brought clinical biochemistry to the bedside, advancing the use of laboratory medicine in diagnosis and disease management. His two-volume landmark textbook Quantitative Clinical Chemistry, coauthored with Donald Dexter van Slyke (1883–1971) and released in 1931–1932, defined clinical chemistry as a distinct professional discipline within medicine. A three-volume revision was begun in 1937. Peters took on the task of revising Volumes I and II but never finished Volume II. His outspoken public advocacy for social reform, world peace, and universal health care made him a target in the era of McCarthyism. Three times between 1949 and 1953 he was brought before the Loyalty Review Board with charges of being a communist and a sympathetic supporter of subversive organizations. According to his family, the turmoil of the McCarthyism persecution shortened his life and prevented him from completing the one thing he wanted to do in his professional life, finish the revision of his landmark clinical chemistry textbook.

Abstract:
The object of the paper is the socio-technological system of an organization. The study aims to identify the key elements of this system, and the main relationships between them, determining their impact on the competitiveness of the organization. The authors use the following research methods: systematic and comparative approaches, as well as structural and statistical analysis of enterprise data. According to the research results in organizations of various types of economic activity in St. Petersburg, 5 main groups of elements that have the greatest impact on the competitiveness of the organization were identified, characterized, and classified. The first group includes technical elements (machines, devices, equipment, tools, and fixtures), the second group includes technological elements (algorithm of actions for diagnosing or changing the state of the object of labor, methods, and means of production, provision of services, management), the third group – social elements of the internal environment (personnel competencies, motivational and value attitudes of employees, the organizational structure of management, functional relationships, and rational distribution of functions), the fourth group – social elements of the external environment (public social institutions, competing organizations, and partner organizations), and the fifth group – information technology and communication systems. The authors conclude that digitalization is one of the most significant drivers of the transformation of the sociotechnological system since it has a strong impact on the social elements of the internal environment of the organization and on the elements of the technological group. The consequences of this influence entail changes in the professional competencies of employees, a reduction in the number of employees and the time spent on performing many labor functions, improving the quality and accuracy of work in many areas, contributing to building direct links between suppliers and consumers, allowing new forms of employment in the organization (flexible working hours, remote employment, the use of freelancers). The results obtained can be used by companies of various profiles in the development of corporate programs to improve their competitiveness.

On the other hand, given the various activities and actions, results, effects and consequences of terrorist organizations and terrorists, we must state that there is a very high degree of agreement, that terrorism is one of the biggest security and security threats today. The growing increase in terrorist actions and threats has led to the implementation of new legislative norms in order to better counter terrorism. Organized crime at the international level and terrorist activities increasingly require the connection of states, international organizations through Conventions, Resolutions or Laws. Terrorism acts ambivalently and as a threat to the stability of society, states and their development on a global level. The expansion of terrorism over time has surprised many organizations, institutions, whose goal is to preserve security, where the need for reforms has arisen. Through the laws in Bosnia and Herzegovina, we will see how the legislator has solved the issue of terrorism and what are the consequences for those who do not adhere to them.

Abstract:
The labor market is one of the main and most complex elements of a market economy. It is a system of organization of wage labor based on market laws, which includes employers who demand labor, employees who form the supply of labor in this market, as well as mechanisms and institutions to reconcile the interests of workers and employers. The purpose of the article is a statistical and expert analysis of the labor market in Ukraine and the formation of promising areas of its development in terms of postwar expectations and the impact of global processes. Statistical analysis of the main indicators of the labor market showed that the share of employees and the wage fund by type of economic activity are approximately the same. While the level of average wages in Ukraine differs significantly from them by type of economic activity. This is the reason for the formation of demand for the relevant professions. Based on expert analysis, it is established that the most popular in Ukraine are specialties in the field of services. There are significant differences in the expectations of employers and the wishes of job seekers. There is a shortage of staff and a gradual alleviation of the problem of ageism. Globalization processes have shifted the importance of the profession towards the acquired skills. On the one hand, the acceleration of automation and the growth of cyber risks have increased the interest of employers in such new specialties related to artificial intelligence. On the other hand, skills such as critical thinking, the ability to analyze, the ability to solve problems, the ability to learn, endurance, resilience to stress, flexibility become more relevant. Russia's military aggression has changed the list of professions that will be most in demand in the postwar period. The main professional directions for the reconstruction of the country's economy are analyzed. These include both highly intelligent (engineers, architects, doctors, lawyers, psychologists, programmers, managers and marketers) and working professions.

Abstract:
In practice, R&D in public organizations in developing countries is confronted with a variety of failures related to supporting management disciplines. The primary goal of this study is to address this issue through multiple-criteria decision making, which includes the DANP (DEMATEL-based ANP) approach. The DANP approach helps to resolve the classification issue that arises as a result of interdependence and feedback characteristics among the capabilities related to supporting management disciplines, allowing weak capabilities to be prioritized based on their interdependence. In the case of criteria weighting, the empirical result in terms of the degree of the net causal relationship had a greater influence on other criteria; however, in terms of dimensions, the technology management process capability had a greater significance on other dimensions, while the innovation management process capability had the least significance on other dimensions. The studies were based on relevant capabilities under a generic perspective so as to oppose country-specific reviews. However, for empirical testing, the proposed framework needs to fit into a country-specific context. According to specific conditions, Pakistan is considered as a case of empirical testing, providing the experts from the multidisciplinary field of science and technology with robust professional credentials in managing multi-mission R&D from public organizations.

Abstract:
Since 2015, Greece has been one of the main host countries for many thousand people from Middle East who have been forced to leave their countries by political reasons. This article illustrates the housing policies for refugees and asylum seekers in Greece as part of a policy of power enforcement in micro and macro level, resulting to heir social exclusion. In this context, social workers have been at the forefront in order to respond to refugee and asylum seekers needs, facing limits to their work due to the social policies. The study constitutes an effort to provide an insight on the social work practice and the difficulties professionals face being a part of a social control policy. For this purpose, a qualitative method has been conducted via interviews with social work practitioners from non- governmental organizations serving asylum seeker and refugee population (NGOs) in Greece. Research analysis highlighted work overload along with limited training and support. At the same time, it is found that social workers do not comprehend housing policies for asylum seekers and refugees as policies which encourage integration, but rather contribute to a regime of control and exclusion. Although professionals reported that there have been attempts of resistance at the individual level, collective actions of resist control and repressive practices seem to be absent. Social work practice with asylum seekers and refugees in Greece seems to confront the neoliberal system which reproduces managerialism and, on the other hand the anti-immigrant rhetoric which embraces control policies. Within this context, social work profession is being challenged, raising concerns about the capacities and the restrictions social workers face by developing interventions which promote social change. Political analysis and involvement with service users’ groups, labor groups and collectivities’ groups need to come to the fore in order to address these challenges and to stand against any oppressive practice.

Abstract:
The article explores the history of the creation and functioning of the «Ukrainsky Inzhener» magazine. In November 1930, the Congress of Unions of Ukrainian Emigrant Engineers from Poland, France and the Czech Republic was held in Podiebrady (Czechoslovakia). The latter formed the Union of Organizations of Ukrainian Engineers for Emigration. One of the objectives of this Union was publishing a trade journal, the magazine «Ukrainsky Inzhener», which was issued as a semi-annual edition in 1931—1932s in Podiebrady. The content of the magazine has been analyzed. Its main part featured professional articles of the Ukrainian scholars, high school teachers, engineers (from Prague, Krakow, Warsaw, Podiebrady, Brussels, Kharbin). Those illuminated a broad range of various questions pertaining to metallurgy, agronomy, economics, geodesics, architecture, chemistry, biology and other fields of applied and theoretical science. An important place in the journal was given to the rubric «Bibliography». The latter presented reviews on new publications relating to professional interests of engineers, printed in Germany, Poland, USA, Czechoslovakia, France. Those reviews were lengthy, with meticulously refereed content of the analyzed edition. The permanent rubric «Khronika» of this journal covered activities of the organizations of the Ukrainian engineers in emigration and upon the Ukrainian ethnic terrains. Under the heading «Rynok pratsi» there were printed publications on the opportunities and conditions of employment of the Ukrainian engineers in different countries of the world: Argentine, Belgium, Bulgaria, Brasil, Manchuria, Poland, Romania,France. We have elucidated authorship of the magazine. The latter comprised such renowned Ukrainian scholars as Olgerd-Hippolyt Bochkovsky, Leonid Hrabyna, Solomon Goldelman, Borys Ivanytsky, Ivan Feschenko-Chopovsky, Volodymyr Cherediiv, Ivan Shovgeniv and others. In total, over 40 Ukrainian and two Czech scientists and engineers collaborated with the journal. A bibliography of scholarly papers published in the journal has been compiled (See Appendix).

Theoretical and methodological approaches to the training of a transprofessional in the conditions of a professional pedagogical university on the basis of specially prepared sites of the department are presented. Analyzing the accumulated experience, the conclusion arises that it is necessary to study issues (concretization, clarification, updating) from the field of technologyoriented training due to the lack of a holistic view of the formation of the personality of a specialist capable of self-improvement and self-realization in the transdisciplinary areas of machine-building industries. Currently, in professional education, a system of training a specialist with a wide production profile is presented, but it does not sufficiently take into account the structural and content component of technology-oriented activities, the absence of which is compensated by the acquisition of experience already in the conditions of the enterprise (production). The specifics of preparing for the WorldSkills competition on the basis of a transdisciplinary approach are substantiated, the target setting and the result of each component of the activity of the structural and content model are specified. The component composition of the model includes examples of modular tasks developed using the «skills-case» method and are aimed at transprofessional training of contestants in the conditions of simulation sites of the department. The use of the «skills-case» method allows you to prepare a larger number of contestants of the championship at a qualitatively new level in the learning process, as well as in the conditions of practice not only in the chosen profession, but also in related transprofessional areas.

Abstract:
PurposeThis study seeks to examine the existence of records professionals and their role in Malaysian organizations.Design/methodology/approachThe study compares case studies done in six government‐controlled companies. Interviews were conducted with the persons handling the records and information (including records in electronic environment) in the organizations. The interviews were then transcribed and analyzed manually to obtain the comparative data from each case.FindingsThe findings indicate that there are no “real” records professionals in Malaysian organizations. The responsibility and accountability of documenting and managing the organizations' records are dispersed and decentralized. Records managers as a profession are not established within the Malaysian organization structures. Generally there is no specific position of “records manager” in Malaysian organizations. However, the “archivists” are confined at the National Archives and there are no such positions at any of the case organizations studied.Research limitations/implicationsThe study selected six of the government‐controlled companies.Practical implicationsFindings and discovery of the study are significant in confirming that Malaysian organizations (both public and private) are taking their records management responsibilities very unconscientiously with little understanding and support from the top management. They have yet to realize the risk their organizations are facing for non‐compliance to records management standards and practices.Originality/valueThe study confirms the non‐existence of the records professional's position in the formal structures of Malaysian organizations. Though their roles and responsibilities are vital in the management and protection of records to support the business delivery of the organizations, their functions are carried out without due recognition to the profession.

A chemical experiment as a source of knowledge about the matter and chemical reaction is an important prerequisite to enhance the cognitive activity and to develop interest to the subject. Interest to natural sciences including chemistry has declined recently among pupils and students due to the insufficient technical support of the educational process as well as a general tendency of acute value decrease of knowledge in the youth. This year, realizing this problem the toxicology and analytical chemistry chair of Vitebsk State Medical University has responded to the proposal of the chemistry chair of the professional orientation and preparatory training faculty to conduct a number а number of laboratory classes as an experiment with the students who used to be taught only theoretically. To support talented pupils and to popularize chemistry as a science we have taken part in organization of the regional team of chemists before the final stage of Olympiad Chemical experiment gives a unique opportunity to form and develop capacities for analy-sis, synthesis, specification, generalization and systematization of the educational material and con-sequently to emerge a comprehended coherent system of the chemical picture of the world. Abstract:
The authors analyze the concepts of "humanization" and "humanitarian" in the context of teaching chemistry in schools and pedagogical universities. The relationship between the processes of humanization and humanization of chemical education is presented. The humanization of teaching chemistry is considered as a characteristic of the learning process, in particular, through the introduction of educational technologies focused on the student's personality, the priority of humanistic values and ideals in the organization of training. Meaningful humanization creates a new technology of education, i.e. educational technology, distinctive signs which are interactivity, understood as effective multifaceted interaction of the individual with chemical – pedagogical learning environment and promoting formation of professional competence of future teachers of chemistry. The authors describe four groups of interactive methods of teaching chemistry: methods of positive motivation, methods of organizing interactive cognitive and practical activities of the student, reflexive assessment methods, and methods of developing an individual educational learning environment. On the results of the pedagogical experiment, a method of teaching the humanization of inorganic chemistry for the formation of professional competence of future chemistry teachers is given.

International, national, and regional chemical societies; national academies; and professional bodies recognize scientists for their outstanding contributions by, for example, the award of medals, prizes, endowed lectureships, invitation to present plenary lectures at conferences/symposia, invitation to contribute to scholarly works, and the election to leadership positions in such professional bodies. In chemistry, the highest accolade remains the award of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry, or the immortalization of a scientist in the naming of an element. As an international nongovernmental scientific organization, IUPAC takes great interest in the worldwide achievements of chemists, particularly young chemists. Therefore, IUPAC established the annual prestigious Prize for Young Chemists. In doing so, we endeavor to encourage research in the chemical sciences and the participation of promising young chemists. The prizes are given for the most outstanding Ph.D. thesis in the general area of the chemical sciences, as described in a 1000-word essay; normally, IUPAC awards four of these prizes per year. An international panel of eminent chemists, chaired by the immediate Past President of IUPAC, adjudicates these essays, together with recommendations from senior scientists with whom the candidates collaborated. The prizewinners each receive a cash prize of USD 1000 and a free trip to an IUPAC Congress at which they are invited to present a poster describing their award-winning research findings. At IUPAC, we are delighted that since its inception, the IUPAC Prize for Young Chemists has attracted substantial attention from exceptionally gifted research students and their supervisors. The IUPAC Bureau remains in full support of this undertaking and took the decision to continue with this meritorious program on a long-term basis. It is heartening to note that we received 60 applications from 22 countries for the 2005 IUPAC Prize. The essays were of a very high standard and the adjudication process was a challenging task. All of the participants and their supervisors deserve the appreciation of the international scientific fraternity. Recipients of the 2005 IUPAC Prize for Young Chemists were:- Zev J. Gartner, University of California, Berkeley, CA, USA; "Evolutionary approaches for the discovery of functional synthetic small molecules"- Jiaxing Huang, University of California, Los Angeles, CA, USA; "Syntheses and applications of conducting polymer polyaniline nanofibers"- Hiromitsu Maeda, Kyoto University, Kyoto, Japan; "A dozen years of N-confusion: From synthesis to supramolecular chemistry"- Xun Wang, Tsinghua University, Beijing, China; "Solution-based routes to transition-metal oxide one-dimensional nanostructures"Congratulations to the winners and their mentors. It is evident from the topics of their theses that chemistry, as a molecular-based science, remains the core science. Chemistry is important not only as a scientific discipline, but also for its role at the interphases of many scientific disciplines and in cutting-edge areas such as nanotechnology, new materials, and molecular biology. Young chemists are crucially important to the future well-being of chemistry as a discipline and to the future of mankind. Therefore, the prizes are awarded at the opening ceremonies of the IUPAC Congresses. The practice became well established at the IUPAC Congresses held in Brisbane, Australia, 2001, and in Ottawa, Canada, 2003. The tradition was continued at a grand function during the opening ceremony of the 40th IUPAC Congress in Beijing during August 2005, at which occasion the awards were made to the winners of the prizes for 2004 and 2005. On a personal level, it was a great pleasure to meet and to interact with the new generation of highly talented young chemists.Since 2002, the winners of the IUPAC Prize for Young Chemists have been invited to submit manuscripts on aspects of their research topics, for consideration as short, critical reviews in Pure and Applied Chemistry (PAC), the flagship publication of the Union. I am absolutely delighted that 2005 IUPAC prizewinners again enthusiastically responded to our invitation and submitted papers, culminating in the publication of the four critical reviews that appear on the ensuing pages. What a grand and laudable way to launch an illustrious career in the chemical sciences.Chemistry worldwide has a bright future!Piet SteynIUPAC Immediate Past President and Chairman of the IUPAC Prize Committee

Abstract:
The article reviews the problem of training of a future chemistry teacher for the implementation of the pre-profile training of secondary school students. Since there are only few researches in the scientific and pedagogical literature related to the training of a foreign language teacher and a teacher of physics for a specific type of activity, it can be stated that this issue is insufficiently explored. The problem of training of a chemistry teacher for the implementation of the pre-profile training of secondary school students is suggested to resolve through the development and implementation of the special course “Methods of organization of the pre-profile training in chemistry of secondary school students” into the teaching and learning process at a higher educational establishment. The special course as a mode of study has sufficient opportunities to improve the efficiency of training of future specialists due to its applied nature, which allows to systematize and deepen knowledge in one or more disciplines and to develop specific skills. The article defines the content and structure of the special course “Methods of organization of the pre-profile training in chemistry of secondary school students” as a component of the professional training of a future teacher of chemistry. The purpose and objectives of the special course of study is also discussed, the basic knowledge and skills which students will master while studying are described. The content of the special course “Methods of organization of the pre-profile training in chemistry of secondary school students” consists of five topics: “Theoretical basics of the pre-profile training of secondary school students”; “Elective courses as an integral part of organization pre-profile training in chemistry of secondary school students”; “Program and methodical supply of the elective chemistry courses”; “Monitoring, assessment and correction of knowledge in the context of the pre-profile training in chemistry of students”; “Informational work and subject orientation are the components of the pre-profile training”.A thematic plan of a special course teaching is given, the themes of practical classes, individual teaching and research tasks and assignments for teaching practice are highlighted.

Abstract:
The article discusses cooperation between university museums in Ukraine, with particular attention to the structure and operation of museum networks at different levels. At the institutional level, network ideology is manifested in the formation of museum complexes within universities. This type of close coordination makes it possible to directly influence the development strategy of universities, expands opportunities for creating innovative museum product, strengthens the position of museums within universities, and helps to draw the residents and guests of the city into the museum space. At the regional level, museum unions, based on the territorial or specialization principle, help to improve the professional skills of museum staff and protect their rights. They are also involved in the organization of community events (exhibitions, contests) and make museums more open and attractive to different categories of visitors. At present, we are witnessing the gradual development of museum associations in Ukraine, at the level of both individual universities (the museum complex of the V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University) and cities or regions (Association of University Museum Workers of Kharkiv). At the same time, Ukraine still needs a country-wide association of university museums, which would help to legitimize and strengthen the university museum community and preserve and facilitate access to museum collections of institutions of higher education. It is also necessary to increase the representation of Ukrainian museums in international organizations, which would make it possible to formulate more clearly the mission of the university museum in modern society. The lack of a clear understanding of the mission of the university museum and the latter’s uncertain position (including legal) in the academic and museum community can lead to the loss of not only museum identity, but also museums themselves and their collections. In Ukraine, we can speak of the first steps towards such self-organization at the institutional and regional levels, as well as attempts to create a national center through formal (association) and informal (conferences) structures. However, so far these attempts have been sporadic.

Abstract:
The study aims to identify and analyze the reasons for the development of positive and unhealthy perfectionism of a university teacher in the socio-economic conditions of the labor activity. The relevance of the study is due to the uncertainty of the requirements for teachers in relation to research and scientific-methodical work. The novelty of the research lies in the identification of the teacher’s focus on maximum results, which does not contribute to maintaining a balance between life goals and a healthy lifestyle. As the main research method, the author applies the analysis of modern trends in labor activity, key performance indicators (KPIs), and the system of teachers’ remuneration. The educational environment provides the basis for self-improvement not only for students but also for teachers. The key objective of the faculty is to constantly strive to find the most effective teaching methods, as well as create new knowledge. Research work as an integral part of pedagogical activity in the field of higher education defines the teacher as the owner of the social intellectual capital, capable of developing a positive attitude and motivation among young people towards their future profession. The organizational culture of the university creates social conditions for the continuous improvement of pedagogical and scientific competencies. Nevertheless, corporate culture does not completely clarify the correlation between key performance indicators, achievements, and faculty pay as subjects of economic relations. Academic workload increases and the necessity to create electronic courses results in reduced time for conducting research. Meanwhile, key performance indicators are primarily aimed at scientific research. Unhealthy perfectionism develops as a result of the mismatch between the completed work, achieved results, and remuneration. Teachers’ all-or-nothing thinking comes into contradiction with sanitary standards, including those of working with computers. Validation of requirements in accordance with the academic labor organization and sanitary standards can become the subject of government authorities and business analysis. The practical value of the paper lies in the attempt to identify the necessity for determining the scope of extracurricular work of a teacher in terms of time, specific results, and remuneration. As a result of the analysis, the author proposes to increase the transparency of the remuneration system and use key performance indicators for teacher’s personal development.

Abstract:
Overweight and obesity are among the most prominent health problems in the modern world, mostly because they are either associated with or increase the risk of other diseases such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and/or cancer. Most professional organizations define overweight and obesity according to individual body–mass index (BMI, weight in kilograms divided by height squared in meters). Overweight is defined as individuals with BMI from 25 to 29, and obesity as individuals with BMI ≥30. Obesity is the result of genetic, behavioral, environmental, physiological, social, and cultural factors that result in energy imbalance and promote excessive fat deposition. Despite all the knowledge concerning the pathophysiology of obesity, which is considered a disease, none of the existing treatments alone or in combination can normalize blood glucose concentration and prevent debilitating complications from obesity. This review discusses some new perspectives for overweight and obesity treatments, including the use of the new orally active cannabinoid peptide Pep19, the advantage of which is the absence of undesired central nervous system effects usually experienced with other cannabinoids.

Abstract:
Medical biochemistry (synonyms: clinical chemistry or clinical biochemistry) in the terms of professional and scientific discipline, stems from and/or has developed along with the natural sciences and its influences (mathematics, physics, chemistry and biochemistry) and medical sciences as well (physiology, genetics, cell biology). As a scientific discipline, medical biochemistry studies metabolic processes of physiological and pathological changes with humans and animals. Applying analytical chemistry's and biochemistry's techniques enables medical biochemists to gain plenty of information related to diagnosis and prognosis which serve physicians to asses the gravity of illness and prescribe healing therapy. Therefore medical biochemistry is an integral part of modern medicine. This discipline was dubbed various, often confusing names such as pathology, physiology, clinical biology, clinical pathology, chemical pathology, clinical biochemistry, medical biochemistry, clinical chemistry and laboratory medicine, all depending on place of origin. The official, internationally accepted name - clinical chemistry, was mentioned for the first time in 1912 by Johan Scherer, who described his laboratory as Clinical Chemistry Laboratory (Klinisch Chemische Laboratorium) in the hospital Julius in Wurzburg in Germany. After creating national societies of clinical chemists, Professor Earl J. King of Royal Postgraduate Medical School from London incited an initiative to unite national societies into the organization with worldwide character - it was the International Association of Clinical Biochemists, monitored by the International Union for Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC). On 24 July 1952 in Paris, a Second International Congress of Biochemistry was held. A year later, in Stockholm, the name of a newly formed association was altered into International Federation of Clinical Chemistry, which was officially accepted in 1955 in Brussels. Today this federation-s name is International Federation for Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC). Right after the World War II our medical biochemists began to gather within their expert societies. Even before 1950 Pharmaceutical Society of Serbia hosted laboratory experts among whom the most active were Prof. Dr. Aleksandar Damanski for bromatology, Prof. Dr. Momcilo Mokranjac for toxicology and Docent Dr. Pavle Trpinac for biochemistry. When the Managing Board of the Pharmaceutical Society of National Republic of Serbia held its session on 22 December 1950, an issue was raised with reference to creation of a Section that would gather together the laboratory experts. Section for Sanitary Chemistry, combining all three profiles of laboratory staff, i.e. medical biochemists, sanitary chemists and toxicologists, was founded on 1st of January 1951. On 15 May 1955, during the sixth plenum of the Society of Pharmaceutical Societies of Yugoslavia (SFRY) held in Split, the decision was passed to set up a Section for Medical Biochemistry in SFDJ. The Section for Medical Biochemistry in SFDJ was renamed into Society for Medical Biochemistry of SFDJ based on the decision passed during the 16th plenum of SFDJ, held on 15 May 1965 in Banja Luka. Pursuant to the decision passed by SMBY on 6 April 1995 and based on the historic data, 15 May was declared as being the official Day of the Society of Medical Biochemists of Yugoslavia. The purpose of YuSMB (currently SMBSCG) is to gather medical biochemists who would develop and enhance all the branches of medical biochemistry in health industry. Its tasks are as following: to standardize operations in clinical-biochemical laboratories, education of young biochemists on all levels, encouraging scientific research, setting up of working norms and implementation, execution and abiding by the ethics codices with health workers. SMBSCG is to promote the systemized standards in the field of medical biochemistry with the relevant federal and republican institutions. SMBSCG is to enable exchange of experiences of its members with the members of affiliate associations in the country and abroad. .

Abstract:
The current stage in the development of education makes it possible to fix the «gaps» between the professional training of teachers and the request of educational practice for a specialist of a certain quality, overcoming which became possible with the provision of interaction of pedagogical universities with educational, scientific, public organizations, regional and municipal educational authorities, representatives of the working environment and business on the development of continuing teacher education. This vector of development has determined new requirements for the development of basic professional educational programs, for the focus of professional training of teaching staff. One of the reasons for opening unclaimed bachelor’s programs and graduating unclaimed specialists is insufficient attention to monitoring the needs of leading employers in the region, which allows obtaining information on the demand for specialists of a certain profile with the definition of professionally significant qualities and competencies. Analysis of the results of the monitoring study, comparing them with the requirements of professional standards, federal state educational standards of higher education and the capabilities of universities allows us to develop components of current basic professional educational programs. The purpose of the article is to identify the features of the design of bachelor’s degree programs in the direction of training Pedagogical education (with two training profiles), taking into account the qualification request of employers for the training of educational organizers who, in modern conditions, are able to carry out professional activities in educational organizations of various levels and types, based on regional needs; highlighting the composition of professional competencies. The features of forecasting the social need for teaching staff and the results of researching the demand of the labor market for specialists − teacher-organizers are shown; presents the results of a survey of employers and their representatives concerning the qualification request for the training of a specialist capable of designing and implementing the educational process at all levels of general education. As a result of the study, the qualification request of the heads of educational organizations for the development of a new basic professional educational program in accordance with the federal state educational standard of higher education in the direction of preparation 44.03.05 Pedagogical education (with two training profiles) was identified, the profiles of this program were determined; highlighted the composition of professional competencies of future educators and educators-organizers; the composition and direction of the program modules has been determined.

Abstract:
Connections among faculty who might be potential resources for diffusion of learner-centered practices across STEM departments were examined at a major research university. Specifically, the research assessed the impact of these connections on learner-centered beliefs among faculty and the implementation of learner-centered practices across the network. Participants were recruited from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics departments, and from departments in the College of Engineering. A snowball sampling procedure began with 21 randomly selected faculty from each department engaged in the STEM instruction of engineering students. These faculties then identified the colleagues they utilize as resources for improving their instruction. Characteristics of faculty connectedness in the network consisted of number of connections and depth of connections for both individual faculty and within and across departments. Outcome measures consisted of a survey of learner-centered attitudes and classroom observations of faculty instructional practices. The results show that faculty exhibiting more learner-centered behaviors had deeper and more extensive social networks than their peers who were more instructor-centered. The results are discussed in terms of the need for intra- and inter-departmental faculty professional development experiences that build and support collaborative organizations of faculty working together to transform early engineering experiences.

Abstract:
This paper reflects on the need to develop future leaders in rehabilitation organizations. Since the early beginnings of the rehabilitation profession in the United States, professional organizations have evolved, had great success, but have often run parallel to each other. Despite the numerous instances of professional organizations in rehabilitation counseling coming together for a common purpose, there has been a marked inability to maintain those collaborative efforts over time. Leaders in the future must find ways of recognizing the differences of the organizations and finding ways to see these challenges as potential opportunities that will allow the profession to move forward and grow. Recruiting and grooming creative leaders will be key.
