Abstract:
O estudo que se pretende desenvolver no âmbito desta Dissertação de Mestrado tem como objectivo geral proceder à análise das percepções sobre os impactes da formação Profissional no desempenho profissional dos recursos humanos na Universidade de Évora. Para concretizar a finalidade deste trabalho, procede-se à reflexão sobre os impactes sócio organizacionais de uma estratégia avaliativa da formação ministrada pela Universidade de Évora, através do estudo da análise dos diferentes modelos de gestão e de desenvolvimento teóricos da formação, no desempenho dos recursos humanos, nomeadamente o modelo de Kirkpatric, através da transferência de conhecimentos e motivação dos mesmos. Relativamente à Metodologia a ser utilizada a investigação é de natureza qualitativa e interpretativa, incidindo no Estudo de Caso no âmbito do Núcleo de Formação Contínua da Universidade de Évora. No que concerne aos resultados esperados com este trabalho, pretendemos analisar as percepções sobre os impactes na eficácia das acções de formação realizadas no do POAP em 2006/2007, na óptica de diferentes instâncias organizacionais, relativas à transferência de conhecimentos para contexto de trabalho; aquisição de novas competências por parte dos recursos humanos Universidade de Évora. /ABSTRACT: The study that is to be developed in the extent of this master 's degree essay has as general goal to analyse the perceptions on the impacts of the professional training in the professional performance of the university of Évora's human resources. ln order to achieve this goal there'll be considerations on the impacts of socio-organizational of an assessment strategy of the training led by the University of Évora, by studying the analysis of several theoretical models of management and development in training, in the performance of the human resources, namely the application of the Kirkpatrick model, through knowledge exchange and motivation of the human resources. ln what concerns the methodology being used in the investigation it is of qualitative and interpretative kind and it will fall upon the Case Study of the Continuous Training Department of the University of Évora. Regarding the expected results of this written essay it is intended to analyse the perceptions of the impacts in the effectiveness of the training sessions which occurred in the extent of POAP in 2006/2007, regarding the different organizational authorities, in what concerns the knowledge exchange to the working environment, acquisition of new abilities of the human resources of the University of Évora.

Abstract:

Professional Development Tools to Enhance the Abilities of Veteran Teachers in Pre-K Through Eighth Grades examined the variety of professional development tools available to veteran educators. The quasi-experimental study allowed veteran teachers to participate in a pretest survey consisting of questions about teachers’ desire for continued professional development, learning preferences, tools and ideas, and demographic information. An intervention in the form of PowerPoint was then presented to the veteran teachers outlining the adult learning theory and a variety of professional development tools. After the intervention, a posttest was conducted and compared using an ANOVA.

The results in the study indicate that while there is not a significant difference in the pretest and posttest following the intervention, veteran teachers are interested in learning, growing, and enhancing their classroom. Veteran teachers would like to be actively involved in the planning and expansion of professional development opportunities and would like to learn from their peers in how to make their classroom more effective. Veteran teachers also feel that their peers can learn from watching them teach in the classroom and would like to use the peer coaching model and Instructional Rounds to be able to learn from their colleagues. Veteran teachers feel that tools such as observations and feedback are helpful in the classroom and would like to learn more about student engagement, instructional strategies, classroom management, differentiation techniques, Instructional Rounds, growth mindset, and subject specific programs.

The results from the teachers’ survey were given to administrators for feedback about how to use the responses to develop effective professional development opportunities in schools. The interview results from the administrators revealed that teacher observation and collaboration are optimal for teachers to grow professionally. The one-on-one interviews also resulted in the overwhelming need to include teachers in the creation of professional development opportunities.

Describing the Reading Motivation of Four Second-Grade Students with Varying Abilities Kathy White Department of Teacher Education Master of Arts The purpose of this study was to describe the differences and similarities among four second-grade students with different abilities and different motivations in the development of their reading attitudes and motivations. A multi-case study design was used to describe the literacy profiles of the participants. Data relating to participants' attitudes, motivations, and values for reading were collected for six weeks from conversational interviews, student observations, parent interviews, student histories, and interviews with previous teachers. Four major results were found in the areas of attitudes, motivations, and values. First, the results for attitudes showed high-ability students were confident readers who were motivated to take a leadership role in collaborating about reading. Students with low abilities had poorer reading self-efficacy, blamed others for not being able to read, thought they were unlucky in reading, and lacked the confidence needed to collaborate with others about their reading. Second, results for assessing motivation were unpredictable and varied from student to student. High- and- low- ability students were motivated by both extrinsic and intrinsic motivation. A third result showed participants in the study whose families were more involved in supporting reading at home, regardless of the participants' reading abilities, had high self-esteem, had future goals for learning, and were more motivated to read than the student from the home without achievement related values. Fourth, reading motivation scales may not be accurate with early elementary students. Qualitative methods are a more accurate source of information about young children's motivations to read. Hoping to read, another aspect of motivation, is discussed.

This dissertation paper gathers three studies on the relationship between accounting practice and certified public accountants’ (CPAs) cognitive reflection abilities (CR-ability). The first chapter summarizes the three studies, presenting contextual information about how the research ideas and identification strategies relate to my doctoral studies. The study in the second chapter maps Brazilian CPAs’ CR-abilities to demographic characteristics, providing not only the foundational insights for the studies in the next chapters but also evidence that male and younger CPAs tend to present higher CR-abilities than female and older CPAs, as well as that employer firm size may determine CR-abilities of preparers and managers. The study in the third chapter applies a quasi-experimental approach to examine whether auditing practice is more likely to prevent CR-abilities decline than financial reports elaboration practice. The paper explores the unique counterfactual opportunity provided by the accounting setting to find that aging leads human beings to adapt information processing strategies towards Type 1 of reasoning in detriment of Type 2. But auditing practice may curb this trend. These findings make several contributions to psychology and accounting fields. The paper in the fourth chapter examines the influence of stable CPAs’ individual characteristics, i.e., CR-ability and professional experience in pressured firms, on the professional judgments behind the recognition of assets and cash flows arising from audiovisual content (AV-content). The findings suggest that CR-ability drives differential AV-content assets and cash flows classification at recognition and, ultimately, incomparable financial statements, but professional experience in pressured firms is likely to refrain such differences in the case of assets. Finally, I present my concluding remarks in the fifth chapter.

Today education in Lithuania is going through the period of changes. The conception of school is defined in the General programs of Lithuanian Secondary schools, which bases on the law of Lithuanian education. The direction drawn by the conception of Lithuanian education defines, that a secondary school of Lithuania is self-dependent, organized democratically, bases its life on the principals of humanism and the general human values, the community of pupils, their parents and teachers that seek their set upbringing aims. Teacher is a stimulator of the upbringing process in such school, a tutor of all working community (class or group). However, it is defined in “Educational landmarks for years 2003-2012” that, in the society of knowledge the very role of the teacher is changing: the teacher – a holder and a conveyer of knowledge is changed by a teacher – an organizer of learning, a creator of learning opportunities, a helper of learning process, an advisor, a partner, a go-between among a pupil and various sources of modern knowledge. The aim of the research is to ascertain what peculiarities of change of professional abilities of gymnasium teachers are revealed in nowadays dynamic conditions. Introdução: usando como referência a área da Bioética, pretende-se delinear uma reflexão crítica no que diz respeito ao domínio da preparação dos estudantes de Enfermagem em Portugal, para a importância atribuída ao ensino da Bioética na aquisição de competências profissionais em Enfermagem. O fundamento deste estudo é traçado pela averiguação junto dos estudantes de três dimensões: a) percepção em relação às temáticas da Bioética, da Enfermagem e da Bioética em Enfermagem; b) importância/ responsabilidade atribuída à Bioética em Enfermagem e c) práticas educativas em foco no contexto do currículo formal da Licenciatura em Enfermagem. Metodologia: o questionário usado (questionário de indicadores formativos- QIF) construído de novo e validado tendo sido pré testado junto de estudantes do 1º e 2º anos da ESTSP (Escola Superior de Tecnologia da Saúde do Porto) com a finalidade de aferir a sua precisão quanto à sua estrutura formal e de conteúdo de modo a proceder à sua validação. A versão de pré-teste tinha 60 itens distribuídos pelas três dimensões acima citadas e adicionalmente duas questões de resposta aberta e duas questões de reflexão falada (esta duas últimas não constaram da versão final do instrumento de trabalho em causa). O questionário após revisão, correcção, reestruturação e reformulação de itens foi aplicado aos estudantes do 1º, 2º e 4º anos (n=565) das Escolas Superiores de Enfermagem de S. João e de Imaculada Conceição. Resultados: Os resultados obtidos apontam globalmente para uma grande valorização dos princípios orientadores da actividade do profissional de saúde assentando nos cinco pilares da Bioética e na necessidade de estratégias activas de aprendizagem, de formação prática, com discussão de casos concretos, para aquisição de competências e para a excelência do exercício profissional. Adicionalmente, é salientada a necessidade de aprendizagem ao longo da vida de profissionais de saúde em constante formação e aprendizagem contínua. Foram obtidos resultados distintos por Escola e por anos escolares tendo-se observado uma evolução da opinião dos alunos à medida que se analisaram os resultados do 1º ano ao 4º ano de escolaridade, o que é consistente com o modelo de Dreyfus embora possam ser devidos a diferentes factores, que foram discutidos. Conclusão: Sabendo que a formação dos futuros Enfermeiros é cada vez mais meticulosa, mais rigorosa e mais exigente, fruto de um processo globalizante que hoje se assiste em todas as facetas da vida, urge reflectir acerca do contributo da Bioética para a aquisição de competências profissionais na área de Enfermagem durante a formação académica, de modo a preparar, motivar e envolver os estudantes, tendo em vista cumprir cabalmente com o seu mandato social.

The daily pre version contains 60 items that are distributed amongst the three above cited dimensions and plus two open answer questions, as well as two spoken reflection questions (this two last ones had not consisted of the final version of the instrument of work in cause). The questionnaire after revision, correction, reorganization and reformulation of item was applied to the students of 1st, 2nd and 4th years (n=565) of the Escola Superior de Enfermagem S. João and Escola Superior de Enfermagem of Imaculada Conceição. Results: The gotten results point globally with respect to a great valuation of the orienting principles of the activity of the health professional seating in the five pillars of the Bioética and in the necessity of active strategies of learning, of practical formation, with quarrel of concrete cases, for acquisition of abilities and the excellency of the professional exercise. Additionally, the necessity of learning throughout the life of professionals of health in constant formation and continuous learning is pointed out. They had been gotten resulted distinct by School and per pertaining to school years having itself observed an evolution of the opinion of the pupils to the measure who if had analyzed the results of 1º year to 4º year of scholarship, what it is consistent with the model of Dreyfus even so can have the different factors, that had been argued. Conclusion: Knowing that the formation of the future nurses is each more meticulous, more rigorous and more demanding, fruit of a globalization process that today attends in all sides of life, urges to reflect concerning the contribution of Bioethics for the acquisition of professional abilities in the nursing area during the academic formation, in order to prepare, to motivate and to involve the students, in view of fulfilling perfectly with its social mandate.

На сьогодні основне завдання вищих навчальних закладів не тільки України, а й усього світу полягає не лише в забезпеченні студентів достатнім рівнем знань, але й у формуванні у них складових компонентів професійної компетентності, де виявляються особистісні якості людини. І хоча на сьогодні це завдання досить ефективно вирішується в певних установах, у процесі формування креативності студентів все ж є певні труднощі, до яких можна віднести недостатнє пояснення особливостей розвитку і виховання творчої особистості та недостатню вивченість формування творчих здібностей у майбутніх фахівців. Для успішного подолання труднощів, знаходження ефективних шляхів вирішення проблем, та взагалі для того, щоб бути успішною людиною в різних видах трудової діяльності представники студентської молоді повинні вміти активізувати свій потенціал та свою креативність.

На сьогоднішній день питання соціального обслуговування є вкрай актуальним як в Україні так і світі. Дана галузь дуже стрімко розвивається, створюється система державних та громадських, волонтерських соціальних служб та установ, на державному рівні розробляються закони та стандарти соціальних послуг. Зростають вимоги до якості наданих соціальних послуг, а отже і зростають вимоги до професійних здібностей та вмінь соціального працівника та його людських якостей. Отже, розвиток соціальних послуг в нашій країні наочно засвідчив необхідність удосконалення професійної культури соціальних працівників, а також слід велику увагу приділити питанню формування професійної компетентності та професійної культури, адже фахові знання та вміння, поведінка людини, визначають рівень професійної культури соціального працівника. Актуальність теми магістерської роботи, полягає в недостатньому рівні вивчення теоретичної та практичної сторони прояву професійної культури в організаціях соціальної сфери, наявні суперечності, необхідність і можливість їх подолання зумовили вибір теми магістерського дослідження: «Особливості прояву професійної культури в організаціях соціальної сфери». У розділі 1 досліджуються теоретичні підходи то трактування поняття професійної культури соціального працівника, розкрито суть, зміст та структуру професійної культури, а також розкрито умови формування професійної культури соціального працівника. У розділі 2 наукової роботи надається загальна характеристика Територіального центру соціального обслуговування надання соціальних послуг Деснянського району Чернігівської ради, проведено аналіз роботи соціальних працівників та проведено емпіричне дослідження професійної культури працівників територіального центру. В 3 розділі розкрито суть підготовки соціального працівника в умовах сьогодення, а також запропоновані шляхи вдосконалення професійної культури соціального працівника.
Today the issue of social services is extremely relevant both in Ukraine and in the world. This industry is developing very rapidly, a system of state and public, volunteer social services and institutions is being created, laws and standards of social services are being developed at the state level. The requirements for the quality of social services provided are growing, and therefore the requirements for the professional abilities and skills of the social worker and his human qualities are growing. Thus, the development of social services in our country has clearly demonstrated the need to improve the professional culture of social workers, and should pay close attention to the formation of professional competence and professional culture, because professional knowledge and skills, human behavior determine the level of professional culture of social workers. The relevance of the master's thesis is the insufficient level of study of the theoretical and practical side of the manifestation of professional culture in social organizations, the existing contradictions, the need and possibility of overcoming them led to the choice of master's thesis: «Peculiarities of professional culture in social organizations». Section 1 examines the theoretical approaches to the interpretation of the concept of professional culture of a social worker, reveals the essence, content and structure of professional culture, as well as reveals the conditions for the formation of professional culture of a social worker. Section 2 of the scientific work provides a general description of the Territorial Center for Social Services of social services Desnyansky district of Chernihiv Council, analyzed the work of social workers and conducted an empirical study of professional culture of employees of the territorial center. Chapter 3 reveals the essence of social worker training in today's conditions, as well as ways to improve the professional culture of a social worker.

This thesis presents a research behind the creation of a process model for application development and a set of guidelines to instruct and support the work of developers focused on healthcare. The current Brazilian condition reflects that the working environment of healthcare professionals in long term care is conducive to the construction of a new identity and reference for these professionals, who incorporate their personal and social activities to professional activities and build cooperative relations with their peers beyond the professional environment. In this context, where healthcare professionals are re-analyzing their relationship with work and issues that affect the quality of life and the quality of their professional activities, the support of technological resources is a strong partner, especially in sharing and disclosure information and also in management daily tasks. In order to incorporate technology requirements that naturally may be included in the workflow of these professionals without interrupt their routines, software developers have been mobilized to create natural interaction applications that help healthcare professionals and promotes the adoption of applications. Natural interactions are defined here as the way users share information using technological resources and applications instinctively, in a transparent way, without concern the peculiarities of the application or technological appeal. For the development of these applications, which considers users’ profiles who naturally mix professional, personal and social contexts, it is required a process model to guide and assist developers in this task. Thus, as scientific contribution in Computer Science, an application development process model and a set of guidelines to supports the developer’s work to create applications for healthcare professionals have been proposed. The proposed model encourages and provides the integration of different contexts of the healthcare professionals, enabling resource appropriation through the perception of abilities and prior knowledge of these professional, and encourages the addition of some new abilities.
Esta tese apresenta a pesquisa desenvolvida para a criação de um modelo de processo de design de aplicativos e um conjunto de diretivas para orientar e apoiar o trabalho de desenvolvedores de aplicativos para profissionais da área da saúde. O momento atual reflete que o ambiente de trabalho dos profissionais da área da saúde que atuam nos cuidados constantes e durante longos períodos é propício para a construção de uma nova identidade e referência para estes profissionais, que incorporam suas atividades pessoais e sociais às atividades profissionais e constroem relações de cooperação com seus pares além do ambiente profissional. Diante desse contexto, em que profissionais da saúde repensam sua relação com o trabalho e os aspectos que afetam a qualidade de vida e a qualidade das suas atividades profissionais, o apoio dos recursos tecnológicos é um forte aliado, principalmente nos processos de troca, divulgação de informações e gerenciamento de tarefas. Com o intuito de incorporar recursos tecnológicos que naturalmente se insiram no fluxo de trabalho desses profissionais, sem que sejam empecilhos em suas rotinas, mas que os apoiem na realização de suas tarefas, desenvolvedores de software têm se mobilizado na criação de aplicativos com interação natural que auxiliem os profissionais da saúde e favoreçam a adoção de aplicativos desenvolvidos. Interações naturais são definidas aqui como a maneira que o usuário troca informações com aplicativos e recursos tecnológicos de forma instintiva e transparente, sem se inquietar com as peculiaridades do aplicativo ou recurso tecnológico manipulado, por serem formas de interação mais próximas da realidade do usuário. Para o desenvolvimento desses aplicativos, que levam em conta perfis de usuários que naturalmente misturam contextos profissionais, pessoais e sociais, constatou-se a necessidade de um modelo de processo que oriente e auxilie os desenvolvedores nesta tarefa. Assim, como contribuição científica na área de Computação, um modelo de processo de design de aplicativos e as diretivas que orienta e apoia o trabalho de desenvolvedores de aplicativos para profissionais da área da saúde foram propostos. O modelo e as diretivas incentivam e proporcionam a integração dos diferentes contextos dos profissionais da saúde, facilitando a apropriação de recursos tecnológicos através da percepção das habilidades e conhecimentos prévios desses profissionais, e estimulam a adição de novas habilidades.

This study presents the conceptual diversity of competencies and abilities in higher education and its appropriation and incorporation into Social Work based on curriculum guidelines CNE/CES Resolution 15/2002. The method selected for this study was the qualitative research based on interviews and document analysis obtained from a total of 21 subjects. The subjects were coordinators and professors of six Social Work undergraduate courses from South and Southeast of Brazil along with professor members of the Expert Committee on Social Work Teaching - MEC/SESu. All the interviews were scheduled in advance; they were conducted face to face and were digitally recorded, and further transcribed. A previously established guide for interview was used with each group. The Political-Pedagogical Projects (PPP) of six undergraduate courses in the selected sample were analysed. The competencies‟ and abilities‟ categories were studied in the higher education and Social Work scenarios from the historical perspective. The research was designed to identify how the concept of competencies and abilities was appropriated in Social Work and how education embodied it. In order to help with data systematization and analysis, two analytical axes were defined: a) The understanding of competencies and abilities; b) the appropriation of competencies and abilities in Social Work professional development. It has been observed that the concept of competencies and abilities is polysemic; this applies both to the theory researched and to the subjects interviewed. There is a tendency among the subjects interviewed to relate competencies with the professional Social Work competencies defined in the profession‟s regulatory law. The initial assumption that the concept of competencies and abilities was not appropriated in Social Work undergraduate courses, despite being present in the guidelines, was validated. The Political-Pedagogical Projects analysed show an influence of the ABEPSS curriculum guidelines in their elaboration, as well as legal rules such as MEC/SESu curriculum guidelines and professional regulation laws. In general, the PPPs contain items proposed in the CNE/CES Resolution 15/2002. They introduce the competencies to be developed during the undergraduate course, although without clarifying when and how this should be achieved. Social Work area presently lacks a discussion of a competency-based curriculum and the professional competencies were defined in the profession‟s Regulatory Law in mid 90‟s
O estudo apresenta a diversidade conceitual de competências e habilidades na formação superior e sua apropriação e incorporação no Serviço Social, a partir das diretrizes curriculares Resolução CNE/CES 15/2002. A metodologia utilizada foi a pesquisa qualitativa em que os principais instrumentos de trabalho foram entrevistas e análise de documentos. Foram entrevistados os coordenadores e professores de seis cursos de Serviço Social da Região Sul e Sudeste do país e professoras da Comissão de Especialistas de Ensino em Serviço Social MEC/SESu, um total de 21 sujeitos. Todas as entrevistas foram presenciais, agendadas com antecedência, gravadas digitalmente e depois transcritas. Utilizou-se um roteiro prévio para cada grupo entrevistado. Foram analisados os projetos político-pedagógicos dos seis cursos definidos na amostra. As categorias competência e habilidade foram estudadas em uma perspectiva histórica no Ensino Superior e no Serviço Social. A pesquisa objetivou verificar como se dá a apropriação do conceito de competências e habilidades no Serviço e como são incorporadas no cotidiano da formação. Para a sistematização e análise dos dados, foram definidos dois eixos analíticos: a) compreensão de competências e habilidades; b) apropriação das competências e habilidades na formação profissional do Serviço Social. Constatou-se que o conceito de competência é polissêmico, tanto para os teóricos estudados, quanto para os sujeitos entrevistados. Há uma tendência entre os entrevistados de relacionar competência com as competências profissionais do Serviço Social definidas na lei de regulamentação da profissão. A hipótese de que não houve apropriação pelos cursos de Serviço Social dos conceitos de competências e habilidades, embora estejam contidas nas diretrizes, foi validada. Os projetos político-pedagógicos analisados mostram a influência das diretrizes curriculares da ABEPSS na sua elaboração, bem como de normativas legais como as diretrizes curriculares MEC/SESu e a Lei de Regulamentação da Profissão. Os PPPs, de forma geral, contêm os itens propostos na resolução CNE/CES 15/2002. Apresentam as competências a serem desenvolvidas no decorrer no curso, mas não deixam claro em que momento e como serão desenvolvidas. O Serviço Social não tem uma discussão de currículo por competência e as competências profissionais foram definidas na Lei de Regulamentação da Profissão na metade na década de 1990

Abstract:
Syftet med studien är att undersöka och följa matematiklärares resonemang kring ämnesplanens förmågor, genom problematisering av nationella provuppgifter.   Matematikundervisningen både på grundskolan och gymnasiet har visat sig vara begränsad när det gäller målstyrning av undervisningen som bygger på medvetenhet och kunskap om förmågorna. En förutsättning för att undervisningen ska kunna vara målstyrd med avseende på förmågorna ser vi är lärares kunskap och medvetenhet om desamma. Avsikten med studien är därför att ur ett utvecklingsperspektiv hitta sätt att för lärare ge ämnesplanens förmågor innebörd. De nationella proven konkretiserar flera av förmågorna, och skulle därför kunna fungera som vägledare i lärares kompetensutveckling kring förmågornas innebörd.  Undersökningen baseras på två filmade fokusgruppsdiskussioner i vilka gymnasielärare i matematik deltar. Diskussionerna utgår från nationella provuppgifter i matematik, med stegvis introducering av skolverkets definitioner av förmågorna och senare också av skolverkets bedömning av desamma.  Studiens teoretiska ramverk utgörs av ett kollegialt lärandeperspektiv och ett multimodalt och socialsemiotiskt perspektiv, som också används i den kvalitativa videoanalysen.   Studien visar att lärarnas resonemang förändras under diskussionen utan Skolverkets definitioner, så till vida att en slags överenskommelse görs, av på vilket sätt förmågorna kan tolkas. Skolverkets definitioner visade sig ha marginell inverkan på resonemangets utveckling i riktning mot Skolverkets intentioner. Skolverkets bedömning tillsammans med definitionerna fungerade däremot som utmanare till lärarnas egen tolkning och skapade genom det ett ökat resonemang. Resonemanget visade dock inte på ökad kunskap och medvetenhet kring förmågornas innebörd, som är förenligt med Skolverkets intentioner. Med stöd av forskning kring kollegialt lärande, skulle ledning av expertis på området kunnat möjliggöra ett resonemang i riktning mot intentionerna.
The aim of this study is to investigate and to monitor teachers of mathematics when they reason on the abilities as expressed in the curriculum, through problematisation of Swedish national test questions.   Teaching mathematics in Sweden has shown itself to be limited when it comes to setting objectives when based on awareness and knowledge of the abilities. One condition for the teaching to be manageable is that the teachers are aware of the abilities. The intention of this study is to find a way for the teachers through a perspective of development, where the abilities are given meaning. The national tests define many of the abilities and therefore the tests could be a guide in the teachers’ development of the reasoning of the abilities.   The investigation is based on two videotaped focus discussions by high school teachers of mathematics. These discussions are based on national test questions, where the teachers are gradually introduced to the national educational agency’s (henceforth Skolverket) definitions of the abilities and assessments that are given by Skolverket. The theoretical framework of the study is based on collegial teaching perspective and a multimodal- and social semiotic perspective, which is also being used in the qualitative video analysis.   The study shows that the teachers’ reasoning changes during the discussions without Skolverket’s definitions, and the teachers reach a consensus on how the abilities should be interpreted. Skolverket’s definitions had only marginal effects on the teachers’ reasoning regarding the intentions of the abilities. However, the teachers’ interpretations were challenged by the assessments which resulted in an increase in the teachers’ reasoning and interpretations. But the outcome of the study has not given any convincing evidence that an actual increase in knowledge nor awareness of the abilities has occurred. According to research into collegial learning, experts in this field would have been able to support more developed reasoning in line with the intentions.

The word that disappeared - A scientific essay on the child-rearing responsibilities and practical professional knowledge of preschool educators This scientific essay examines how child-rearing tasks of the preschool educator relates to their practical knowledge from a hermeneutical perspective considered in the light of Hannah Arendt's concept of responsibility. The study consists of six subject narratives and an ethno-logical field study carried out at two preschools. Participatory observations and interviews were used as a method. Explored here is how professional responsibility, regulated in the preschool's governing documents, balances out against interpersonal responsibility in an activity where children spend most of their wakening hours and where attention is given to various factors such as the need for freedom, organisation and security. Examined too is how rules, companion education, self-regulation, leadership, adult authority and the application of governing documents weigh up against the concepts of children's' participation, influence and power. The concept of rearing in preschool is a controversial one: This may be due perhaps to connotations of rigid rules and nagging adults, but also that activities of the last decade have developed towards more school-based learning. Preschool teaching contains so much more however. In the daily workings of the enterprise security is established, while children are also learning to deal with materials and environments, learning to take on their own responsibility—exercising independence on a gradual basis. Alongside free play and creative activities, rearing therefore forms a vital element of children's non-cognitive learning that even affects interaction and communication. A concept that has been a part of the preschool world for over a century rearing has now been removed from the preschool curriculum.  Results demonstrate that the task of child-rearing is an element presupposed in a teachers’ practical knowledge. Based on a complex number of variables, children’s best interests are constantly considered. An unspoken gap sometimes arises between the professional’s responsibility and the interpersonal responsibility that they require to bridge the gap. This becomes particularly evident when children require the response of adults with whom they feel secure. In this manner child-rearing activities, previously seen as solely the parents concern, now also fall upon the educator, even if this remains unsaid. It is therefore assumed that the work of child-rearing will remain in preschools even if the word itself disappears. Responsibility, content and praxis, in the question of child-rearing therefore needs to be discussed and highlighted together with parenting to maintain a socially sustainable future.
I denna vetenskapliga essä undersöks hur förskolepedagogers fostransansvar yttrar sig i förhållande till deras praktiska yrkeskunnande ur ett hermeneutiskt perspektiv och i förhållande till Hannah Arendts ansvarsbegrepp. Studien består av sex egenupplevda berättelser och en etnologisk fältstudie utförd på två förskolor där deltagande observationer och intervjuer använts som metod. Här utforskas hur det professionella ansvaret, som regleras i förskolans styrdokument, balanseras mot ett mer mellanmänskligt ansvar i en verksamhet där de flesta barn vistas större delen av sin vakna tid och där hänsyn ska tas till olika faktorer som behov av frihet, organisation och säkerhet. Därför undersöks också hur regler, kamrat-fostran, självreglering, ledarskap, vuxenauktoritet och tillämpning av styrdokument avvägs mot begrepp som barns delaktighet, inflytande och makt. Fostransbegreppet är omstritt i förskolan. Det kan bero på att det förknippas med stelbenta regler och tjatiga vuxna, men det kan även spela en roll att verksamheten utvecklats i riktning mot ett mer skolämnesbaserat lärande under de senaste tio åren. Undervisningen i förskolan är dock så mycket mer. I grund-verksamhetens dagliga rutiner etableras trygghet samtidigt som barnen lär sig att hantera material och miljöer liksom att ta ansvar för sig själva och stegvis utöva självständighet. Tillsammans med fri lek och skapande aktiviteter utgör därför fostran en viktig del av barns icke-kognitiva lärande som även berör samspel och kommunikation. Ett begrepp som varit en del av förskolans värld i över hundra år och som nu stryks ur förskolans läroplan.   Resultatet visar att fostransuppdraget existerar som en förgivettagen del av pedagogernas praktiska kunskap. Utifrån en mängd komplexa variabler görs ständiga överväganden för barnens bästa. Ibland uppstår även ett outtalat tomrum mellan yrkesansvaret och det mellanmänskliga ansvaret som de behöver överbrygga. Något som blir särskilt tydligt när barn kräver gensvar av vuxna som de känner sig trygga med. Fostranshandlingar som tidigare sågs som föräldrarnas ensak blir på så vis också pedagogernas även om det förblir outtalat. Man kan därför anta att arbetet med fostran kommer att leva kvar i förskolan även om själva ordet försvinner. Ansvar, innehåll och praktiskt handlande i fostransfrågan behöver därför diskuteras och lyftas fram tillsammans med föräldrasamverkan för en socialt hållbar framtid.

O direito ao aperfeiçoamento e atualização dos Técnicos de Análises Clínicas e Saúde Pública, visando a melhoria da prestação de serviços e o aumento de qualificação destes profissionais, torna-se nos dias de hoje imprescindível. A formação contínua vem colmatar deficiências ou insuficiências decorrentes da formação inicial, além de que permite acompanhar a evolução tecnológica e consequentes reestruturações produtivas, aumento da competitividade e, a aquisição de novas competências. O presente estudo surge na sequência de algumas práticas vivenciadas durante a atividade profissional, como por exemplo, a falta de levantamento de necessidades de formação contínua tanto pelos recursos humanos como pelos Técnicos coordenadores dos serviços de Patologia Clínica, com uma notória falta de gestão estratégica da formação profissional contínua, para que se possa antecipar objetivos a longo prazo que visem acompanhar as mudanças e preparar o futuro. As atividades de formação contínua dirigidas maioritariamente aos enfermeiros e aos médicos continuando a haver deferentes representações sociais e diferentes trajetórias identitárias. Outro dos aspetos importantes, é o facto de que quando há a possibilidade de frequentar as ações de formação contínua, não há a participação esperada no que diz respeito aos Técnicos de Análises Clínicas e Saúde Pública. Assim, em redor desta problemática, pretende-se: - Conhecer o perfil de perceção dos Técnicos de Análises Clinicas e Saúde Pública relativamente às necessidades de formação contínua; - Identificar os processos para a aquisição e de desenvolvimento de competências necessárias ao desempenho da sua atividade profissional; - Conhecer a perceção do Técnico de Análises Clínicas e Saúde Pública face às políticas ou estratégias adotadas pelos recursos humanos relativamente à formação contínua; - Identificar e caracterizar os fatores condicionantes à participação dos Técnicos de Análises Clínicas e Saúde Pública na formação contínua. A Formação Continua dos Técnicos de Análises Clínicas e Saúde Pública - o caso do Distrito de Setúbal IV Para desenvolver este estudo, para além da pesquisa documental recorreu-se ao inquérito por questionário aplicando-o ao conjunto dos Técnicos de Análises Clínicas e Saúde Pública de cinco organizações de saúde do distrito de Setúbal. Os questionários foram entregues aos Técnicos Coordenadores dos vários serviços de Patologia Clínica de cada instituição, o qual se encarregou de distribuir por todos os Técnicos de Análises Clínicas e Saúde Pública do serviço. Dos 97 questionários distribuídos, foram devolvidos 84 questionários, 3 dos quais foram anulados. O volume de respostas situou- se nos 83,5%. Os dados obtidos foram tratados estatisticamente no programa SPSS 13.0. As conclusões do estudo, para um nível de significância de 5%, são apresentadas seguidamente: - A maioria dos inquiridos considera a formação contínua imprescindível (50,6%) sendo as atividades mais frequentadas as jornadas, encontros, congressos e colóquios (95,1%); - A perceção dos inquiridos relativamente às necessidades de formação contínua, dizem respeito a necessidades que se prendem com o facto de poderem melhorar o salário, aumentar o prestígio no local de trabalho, assegurar a progressão na carreira e superar as dificuldades profissionais diárias, aspetos esses considerados instrumentais; - Os inquiridos do presente estudo consideram que os fatores que contribuem para a aquisição e desenvolvimento das competências necessárias ao desempenho da atividade profissional são os cursos, investigação e publicação de artigos científicos (32,1%); - Os inquiridos consideraram, na sua maioria (61,7%) que as ações de formação nas organizações de saúde têm objetivos a curto prazo (como por exemplo aperfeiçoar o desempenho de uma unidade ou o desempenho individual do profissional de saúde), deixando para segundo plano os objetivos e médio/longo prazo; - Relativamente ao objetivo proposto, os fatores condicionantes à não participação dos Técnicos de Análises Clínicas e Saúde Pública nas ações de formação contínua, dizem respeito ao facto da frequência das ações de formação prejudicar a vida familiar, não quererem sacrificar os tempos livres e das ações de formação contínua não serem durante o horário laboral não tendo assim tempo disponível. Por fim faz-se uma proposta de intervenção com o objetivo de poder melhorar as políticas de recursos humanos relativamente às ações de formação contínua dos Técnicos de Análises Clínicas e Saúde Pública assim como aumentar a participação destes profissionais. /ABSTRACT - The present study appears in sequence of some practices lived deeply, during the professional activity, as for example, the lack of survey of necessities of continuous formation, both the human resources and the Technician Coordinators of Clinical Pathology Services, with a well-known lack of strategic management of the continuous professional formation, so that one can anticipate objectives in long term, which aim at following the changes and preparing the future. The activities of continuous formation are mainly directed to the nurses and the doctors, but it continues existing deferential social representations and different identity trajectories. Another important aspect is the fact that, whenever possible to attend the shares of continuous formation, Clinic Analyses and Public Health Technicians don’t participate, as it would be expected. Therefore, in what concerns this problematic, it is intended: 1. To know the profile of perception of the Clinical Analyses and Public Heath Technicians, considering the necessities of continuous formation; 2. To identity the processes for the acquisition and the development of necessary abilities to the performance of the professional activity; 3. To know the perception of the Clinical Analyses and Public Heath Technicians face to the politics or strategies adopted for the human resources in what concerns the continuous formation; 4. To identify and characterize the influencing factors to the participation of the Clinical Analyses and Public Heath Technicians in continuous formation To develop this study, beyond the documentary research an enquiry for questionnaire was held applying to set off the Clinical Analyses and Public Heath Technicians of five organizations of health of Setúbal district. The questionnaires had been delivered to the Technician Coordinators of several services of Clinical Pathology of each institution, who had been charged with the distribution to all the Clinical Analyses and Public Heath Technicians of the service. Of the 97 distributed questionnaires, 84 had been returned and 3 of these had been annulled. The volume of answers was placed in 83, 5 %. Data had been treated statistically in SPSS 13.0 program. The conclusions of the study, for a level of significance of 5 %, are the following: 1. The majority of people inquired (50,6 %) consider essential the continuous formation being working days, technical meetings, congresses and conferences the most attended (95,1 %); 2.The perception of people inquired concerning the necessities of continuous formation relate to necessities that deal with the fact of improving to Wage, increasing prestige at work, assuring the progression in the career and overcoming the daily professional difficulties, aspects considered as instruments; 3. The people inquired of the present study consider that the factors which contribute for the acquisition and development of the necessary abilities to the performance of the professional activity are the scientific courses, inquiry and publication of scientific articles; 4. The people inquired had considered in the majority (61,7 %), that the shares of formation in the health organizations have objectives short-term (as for example to perfect the performance of a unit or the individual performance of the health professional), leaving for second plan the objectives of medium and long term; 5. In relation to the proposed objectives, the influencing factors to the no participation of the Clinical Analyses and Public Heath Technicians in the shares of continuous formation, concern the fact of the frequency of the formation shares, damaging the familiar life, having to sacrifice tree times and the shares of continuous formation being out of labor schedule, thus not leaving available time. Finally it is proposed an intervention with the objective of being able to improve the politics of human resources concerning the shares of continuous formation of Clinical Analyses and Public Heath Technicians, as Well as increasing the participation of these professionals.

This thesis explores the relevance of Bio Data verses Personality for predicting Cultural Competence among Industrial and Organisational Psychology and Human Resource Management professionals and students in New Zealand. It also explores the relevance of the model (D.W. Sue, 2001) of Cultural Competence currently in use by the New Zealand Psychologists board and also the relevance of a four factor model of Cultural Intelligence (Early & Ang, 2003). The sample consisted of 113 participants drawn from a population of Industrial and Organisational Psychology, and Human Resource Management professionals and students. A questionnaire which measures the predictors of the Big Five Personality Factors (Goldberg, 1999), and Bio Data, and the criterion variables of Cultural Intelligence (Earley & Ang, 2003) and questions constructed specifically for this thesis was distributed online. The criterion variables were based on an existing three part (Awareness, Knowledge and Skills) Multidimensional Model for Developing Cultural Competence by D.W. Sue (2001). The results of this research were obtained through exploratory factor analysis and subsequent multiple regression analysis. A new model was constructed to represent the tested predictor and criterion relationship. Results suggest that overall Personality is a better predictor of Cultural Competence, with the Personality Factor of Agreeableness being the highest weighted Personality Factor. D.W Sue’s (2001) Multidimensional Model for Developing Cultural Competence maintained its three part structure in the analysis and consequently seems relevant to the unique socio-cultural, organisational and professional setting of the tested group. Ang and colleagues (Ang, Van Dyne, Koh, Ng, Templer, Tay & Chandraseker, 2007) Cultural Intelligence Scale maintained its four part factor structure and was reliable for this thesis.

Facing quick change in the external environment, it is necessary for the Shipping and Transportation Management Department (STM Department), National Taiwan Ocean University, to constantly review and modify its curricula in order to cope with the change of employment market. The contents of STM curricula aim to provide management, as well as professional shipping knowledge in order to create its value. According to the previous experiences, the key element for a successful shipping company is to have the specialized and educated people who can serve the industry. Nevertheless, the required abilities of people specialized in shipping are complicated. It comprehends not only college education but also in service training and experience. Shipping is a globalizing and changing industry; it is of a great urgency that education needs to catch up with reformations of shipping industry. Thus, this thesis bases on questionnaire and seminar to analyze opinions from the STM graduates and shipping circles. This study aims to review the suitability of the current curricula of the STM Department. It issues questionnaires to those STM graduates, their employers, etc. and analyzes the relationship between the contents of STM curricula and the ability required by the employment market. This study also investigates the employment situation of the STM graduates. In addition to questionnaire methodology, this study also holds a seminar in order to explore the opinions from those high level officers in Taiwan’s shipping industry, namely liner shipping, tramp shipping, freight forwarding, port operation. This seminar provides deep thinking for the current problems and future development while designing the STM curricula. The goal of this thesis is to provide reference to the STM Department when it is endeavoring to upgrade its teaching quality and provide qualifies graduates to shipping industry. These professionals shared with us their valuable experiences and important characteristic classifications. Flairtending contestants must possess professional techniques, solid fundamental skills, unique postures, smooth tossing stills, and stable performance. The Flairtending contestants should have professional knowledge on Flairtending, understand the content of competition, and language ability, etc. The contestants should also possess professional attitude, fully responsible, respect self as well as others, unique personal character, strong adaptability skill, positive humanistic quality and thinking. Contestants with extravert personality are most suitable to become the Flairtending contestants. They should have high confidence on their performance, able to face intensive challenge and overcome their fear. Thru continuous training and practice, they can reduce the chances of mistakes and failures, and eventually make their performance faultless. According to our eight interviewers, Flairtending contestants should be trained in three categories, professional technique, knowledge, and attitude. Continuous practice makes perfect technique. Based on the qualitative research, this research is adopted by two methods as the literature review and in-depth interviews. These interviewees are editors or directors of on-line bookstores in Taiwan. In a way, the in-depth interviews can make up for inadequacies in the literature review.     On-line editors of on-line bookstores must be very proficient both in editing and executing. They need to possess quite a few professional abilities, which are familiar with book editors, such as acquainting themselves with publishing industry, practicing reading and writing abilities. They also need to possess website editing skills while working in on-line bookstores. Besides, they should also possess managing ability to execute several different forms of work, like to promote books and other kind of marketing cases. In short, they need to be proficient in editing, executing, planning, and managing abilities. At the same time, they should full of originality and being responsibility.     Above all, on-line editors must pay attention to consumers'' requirement and feedbacks. As gatekeepers in digital age, on-line editors should also possess professional moralities. The purpose of this study was to investigate the professional abilities of the teachers who teach recreational education to the junior high students in the special school for with intellectual deficiency, and to analyze the differences on the degree of importance and readiness of the professional abilities among teachers with different demographic background. One hundred and ten questionnaires were sent to 12 special schools, and 103 effective were questionnaire retrieved. The return rate was 93.6%. Questionnaire included personal information and questions of professional abilities. Descriptive statistics, One-way ANOVA and Turkey method were used to analyzed the data. The results were as follows: (1) There were 75 classes, 131 teachers who taught recreational education courses in junior high at 12 school special schools for students with intellectual deficiency. Among them, 4 schools adopted courses classified teaching. The highest educational background of 59 teachers, 57.28% of 131 teachers, was special education. (2) Sixty-two items of professional abilities were regarded as important, while 42 items were regarded as qualified. (3) Female teacher's professional abilities were superior to male teachers on the degree of importance and readiness; the professional abilities of teachers with working 16-20 years were superior to other teachers. (4) The discrepancy of importance and readiness among teachers’ different ages and different positions were not significantly different. (5) Among the adopted courses classified teaching teachers, readiness of physical education teachers was lower than others; adopted courses classified teaching teachers’ professional readiness was averagely higher than other teachers.

Therefore, this paper discusses the structure of the board, such as: whether a director and part-time manager shareholding ratio, the ratio of independent directors and supervisors seats, the audit committee of the like, which are associated with differences between taxation, in order to verify the internal oversight function of the Board. In addition, the study investigated the effect of differences accountants and taxation expertise to verify whether the impact of fiscal and tax accountant expertise differences. The empirical results show that when a director and part-time manager of the higher stake, the directors may tend to self-interest, are also more likely to lead to the management of taxation and losses from manipulation; the proportion of the managers holding more, the less taxation differences, past studies suggest language managers within the company, identifying inside information about the company, the company's financial performance is better when managers more confidence and willingness to increase the company's shareholding ratio; accountant expertise and taxation differences negatively correlated display effective external oversight.

In recent years, more and more people have been trying to create their own businesses, especially in the beverage industry. But the question is: Do the entrepreneurs in the industry need related professional abilities to succeed in this business? Do the entrepreneurs require the correct behaviors in order to achieve their goals? This study analyzed a selected number of beverage entrepreneurs in Kaohsiung city as the subjects of this research. The purpose of this study is to try to understand the correlation between professional abilities and their behaviors. Therefore, try to find out which professional abilities and behaviors lead entrepreneurs to success. The findings indicate that: (1) The “cognition” part of the professional ability has remarkable effect upon success. (2) The behaviors of the entrepreneurs have significant effects on success. (3) The professional ability, behaviors and successes have significant difference in individual background of the entrepreneurs. According to the research findings above, this study revealed the following results and suggestions: (1) entrepreneurs of the beverage industry should enforce the interrelated knowledge of “cognition” part in professional abilities. (2) The government could focus on promoting policies which relate to entrepreneurships and provide more funding to help people who want to have their own businesses. (3) The beverage entrepreneurs should use the “concentrated” strategy to sale their products. (4) The beverage entrepreneurs in Kaohsiung need to enter the market during the “early period.” In conclusion, these results and suggestions provide opportunity for further research, giving the people who would like to own beverage businesses in the future, government and enterprises alike, guidance associations as reference.

This study was conducted to explore the survey of the elementary schools’ directors’ professional abilities from the perspective of the elementary schools’ principals in Yunlin County. The survey’s objects were 156 principals in Yunlin County. The collected data were further statistically analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, One-way ANOVA, and Scheffé post eriori Comparisons. The major findings of this study included: 1.The female principles of the elementary schools in Yunlin County emphasized on the importance of directors’ professional abilities more than the male principals. 2.There is no significant difference toward the importance of directors’ professional abilities between the principals in different ages But in the “the abilities of interpersonal relationship” aspect, there is significant difference. The older principals put more emphasis on the directors’ social abilities. 3.There is no significant difference between the different diploma levels of principles in the elementary school toward the importance of directors’ professional abilities. But there are significant differences in the aspects of“the abilities of teaching leadership” and “the professional abilities in education ” 4.There is no significant difference between the different seniorities of principles in the elementary school in Yunlin County toward the importance of the directors’ professional abilities. But there are significant differences in the aspect of the requirements of the directors. The expectation of the principles with 11-20 seniorities is higher than those of the other groups. 5.There is no significant difference toward the importance and requirements of the directors’ professional abilities between the principles in different sizes of elementary schools in Yunlin County. But the principals in the over 25-class schools show higher expectation to the directors’ professional anilities. 6.There is no significant difference toward the importance and requirements of the directors’ professional abilities between the principals in the different types (areas) of schools.

This study mainly discusses the relationship between insurance personnel’s professional ability and customer satisfaction, and uses education and training as interference variables to explore whether education training affects the effect of insurance personnel’s professional ability on customer satisfaction, as a reference for insurance industry. This study uses narrative statistical analysis, exploratory factor analysis, single factor variance analysis, Pearson correlation analysis and regression analysis. The results show that: First, there is no significant difference between customer insurance experience and customer satisfaction. Second, policyholders with different risk preferences have significant differences in their professional capabilities. Risk appetite Under medium-risk commitments, policyholders who require a moderate level of reasonable compensation have significantly higher professional insurers than those who do not. Third, the professional ability of insurance personnel will significantly affect customer satisfaction. Fourth, the education training of insurance personnel has no interference effect in the relationship between professional ability and customer satisfaction.

In an organization, people are the most important resource and yet most difficult to conform. The core competitive ability of an organization is decided by the manpower quality and ability. Harvard scholars Frank Bernieri, NehaGada-Jain and Tricia Prickett conducted research (William Poundstone, 2005) to discover that interviewers work on their first impressions of an applicant rather than considering in detail why they feel the applicant will or will not succeed in the company. In order to reduce such mistakes by interviewers, Talent Search and Testing Association and Pivot Technology Corporation asked professors as well as psychology and human resource experts to develop a set of Career Competency Measures. This research utilizes correlation theories with Ling Tung University students as the object of study. The study is comprised of two stages. The first stage aims at first semester students in 2007. The altogether 414 subjects did an on-line examination. A total of 408 (98.55%) people properly completed the on-line examination and thus were examined during this study. The second stage aims at 716 second semester students. 708 (98.89%) properly completed the on-line examination and were examined in this study. The research technique will use the SPSS statistics software to carry on the internal consistency analysis and the item analysis. The results of this technique should also be useful for companies and/or other organizations seeking the most suitable outstanding talented persons with speed and efficiency.

The dependent variables include school construction, purchase and management of all the school properties. The questionnaires designed by the researcher has been sent to the directors of Tainan County’s public elementary school, and has sampling 113 valid forms. Through the analyzed by the SPSS for Windows , there are some condusions and recommendations to be taken into consideration: Conclusion: 1. The preparation of the Director of General Affairs cannot help much in professionalize on the affairs of school construction, purchase and management of school properties. 2. The prefect of General Affairs, still needs to strengthen their professional knowledge and abilities on school construction. 3. There’s need to strengthen their legal knowledge and experience on purchase. 4. There’s need to strengthen their management abilities on school properties. 5. Parts of their expertise are increased according to the duration of their serving. 6. Most of the prefects of General Affairs, feels that this job needs special zeal discipline; therefore, it’s not appropriate for teachers to be in charged. It would be better to be done by specialized personnel. Recommendations: A. To Bureau of Education: 1. Following the examples of USA and Europe, all the school construction, purchase is undertaken by personnel specialized in this field. 2. Foster specialists in this field should be speeded up. 3. Strengthen on-the-job training, and elevate the professional knowledge. 4. Provide special legal advisory counselor to assist any legal issues. 5. Build up a sufficient professional data bank. B. To the Teacher Training Program: It would help tremendously for teachers who might be prefect in the future, if these Program offer related courses concerning school construction, property purchase and management. In this study , a school-based environmental education curriculum(EE)was developed in an urban elementary school and the problems teachers faced, the strategies to solve these problems and the professional abilities improved through the process of development were recorded by qualitative methods. The data collection included interviews observation, questionnaires and document analysis. The findings of this study include: 1. In the early stage in developing the curriculum, teachers have various perceptions about the definition of school-based curriculum. Some think the curriculum should be developed for solving real problems according to school context. Others advocated the curriculum should help school to achieve the vision in the future. However, some teachers say they are not familiar with this issue. 2. In developing school-based environmental education(EE)curriculum, teachers decide their guidelines based on the consensus the curriculum development committee. They think EE is one of the most feasible ways to reveal the importance of school-based curriculum on the basis of school context. 3. After long-period discussion, four environmental education issues are illustrated as main themes to develop school-based EE curriculum: (1)To be familiar with school environmental. (2)To prevent noise problem in school environment. (3)To reduce and recycle wastes, and prevent mosquito problem. (4)To save energy. 4. In designing teaching activities, the collaborative groups are formed. In the process, teachers use the fixed design model of teaching activities’ increase the familiarities of environmental issues by self-directed learning, research and study, and the assistance from experts, adopt environmental education as their duty willingly, press the time in school and occupy free time in order to complete the design of teaching activities, and learn how to manage time and solving problems independently. The congenial culture is created in school gradually. The “learning community” formed by teachers are also oriented to “teaching ones” in order to solve problems by the cooperation between colleagues. 5. The grade teacher is in charge of the way of guiding school-based curriculum and the role of subject teacher is to assist in flexible time and field curriculum etc. It is necessary to study the way of multiple teaching strategies, because school teaching should be connected to real life. Through multiple strategies in teaching, student can be expected to achieve multiple learning effectiveness teaching. 6. In developing school-based curriculum, the teachers are benefited in the following aspects. (1)To get along with each other harmoniously in an elegant school environment. (2)The students are more keen to study than before, and they are full of happiness and hopes. (3)The students have built more basic abilities than before. 7. Future prospect: we hope to achieve the goal of “Health Promoting School Environment”. According to these findings this study makes the following suggestions: 1. For educational administrators. (1)To promote the teachers’ professional capabilities by planning inspiring methods. (2)To carry out the global environmental issues in the school environment. 1. For schools management. (1)School-based curriculum have to be reconfirmed at the right moment, and have to be executed in the daily teaching. (2)There would be better if administrators take charge of curriculum development. (3)To create a harmonious living environment in school, establish teaching organizations, and improve professional communication skills. 2. For teachers (1)To enhance professional capabilities of teachers by offering continuing education. (2)To cultivate students’ basic abilities should be regarded as a real goal by teachers. (3)To enhance good interpersonal communication skills, and increase the quality of teaching. (4)To promote teachers’ professional capabilities by taking advantages of internet resources.

Accounting director is quite aware of the financial situation in the company. As a company in earnings management, the accounting director performs an important role. Recently, using personal characteristics to research earnings management willingness have become a new study. This research explores the influence of professional abilities, risk bearing and ethics awareness of accounting director on earning management willingness. We expected the findings of this study will help investors to judge earning quality in financial report by understanding personal characteristics of accounting director, and reducing the risk of wrong decision. Questionnaire survey method is adopted in the research. We carry out the sample testifying research on the 1,000 main manufactures in Taiwan area of year 2004 selected in Business Weekly magazine. Some major findings as followings: (1)The higher professional abilities of accounting director have no willingness on earnings management. (2)The higher risk bearing of accounting director have more willingness on earnings management. (3)The higher ethics awareness of accounting director has no willingness on earnings management. (4)Earnings management willingness on the professional abilities and ethics awareness of accounting director have partial interactive impact. (5)Earnings management willingness on risk bearing and ethics awareness of accounting director have interactive impact and statistically significant. (6)Earnings management willingness have social desirability bias generality. The regression analysis after adding “social desirability bias” are more statistically significant than original, and the degree of statistically significant have changed weak with decreasing legality.

This study aimed to explore the status and relationship between physical education and teaching effectiveness of elementary school physical education teachers in Taitung County. The research targets were the elementary school teacher of PE course in Taitung County in the school year of 2016. The researcher adopted the questionnaire survey as the research method. With 88 copies of questionnaire issued and 56 copies returned at a response rate of 63.6%. The survey data was analyzed by reliability analysis, descriptive statistics, t-test, One-Way ANOVA and Pearson correlation. The research conclusions were as follow: 1.PE teachers in Taitung County in the sports professional ability and teaching effectiveness situation was good. The level of "Sports safety and handling" was the highest, "Academic research ability" was the lowest. The level of "Teaching attitude" was the highest, "Teaching effectiveness beliefs" was the lowest. 2.PE teachers in the sports professional ability of full-time physical education and concurrent administration (including 2688 additional substitute teachers), of the physical education teachers performed better than other PE teacher with other duties, especially in the "administrative management", "sports guidance ability", "academic research ability" three levels. 3.PE teachers who graduated from sports-related departments performed better than those who graduated from non-sports-related departments. 4.PE teachers with sports-related license had better abilities on sports professional ability and teaching performance than those who had no sports-related license. 5.PE teachers who had served as coaches of a sport team had higher professional ability and teaching performance than those who did not teach in a sport team. 6.The better the performance of "sports professional ability" of the PE teachers, the better performance of "teaching effectiveness" they had.

Ever since 2004, National Police Agency has spent $550 on the establishment of “National Counter-terrorism Training Center” in Xinwu, Taoyuan. Nevertheless, the contractor had financial problem and insufficient funds to meet the needs, and finally annulled the contract signed with the Agency. As a result, the construction project was delayed for years, and always widely reported by the news media. Later on, the case was corrected by The Control Yuan, which analyzed that the reasons for the delay of the project were insufficient professional manpower and insufficient abilities of staff. Government Procurement Act is the standard that the procurement staff of government departments have to comply with. What abilities a professional procurement staff should possess to achieve the procurement goals and improve the procurement quality is one of the motives of the paper. The vacancies of procurement staff are mainly filled up by the non-senior or the newly employed staff. Due to the diversity and complicatedness of procurement business, as well as the lack of professional experience of those inexperienced procurement staff, the quality of procurement is often poor, even more increasing the risk of procurement work, and causing a lot of negligence and problems. Currently, Public Construction Commission serves as an authorized institution to offer, on behalf of the government, training courses for the procurement staff. The procurement course is divided into basic course and advanced course; but there is no planning of different training courses for the procurement staff of any particular professional areas. In order to make the procurement staff maintain their “professional abilities,” the paper attempts to explore whether the existing way of training (outsourced training has been implemented since 2004), the professional course plan and the in-service training meet the practical needs of the government procurement work. This is the second motive of the paper. The paper takes the police institution for example, employs purposive sampling way, and selects the in-service staff of seven police institutions, namely National Police Agency of the Ministry of the Interior, Central Police University, Taipei City Police Department, New Taipei City Police Department, Taichung City Police Department, Kaohsiung City Police Department and Yilan County Police Department, actually handling procurement business or teaching the courses of Government Procurement Act, as the research targets. After questionnaire survey and interviews were both made, the paper has the following findings: 1. The sequence of weights for the major standard facets of professional abilities of the government’s procurement staff is personal value judgment (0.568), regulatory intelligence (0.263) and management skills (0.168). Most of the interviewees think that the most significant professional ability of the government’s procurement staff is correct and good personal value judgment. 2. The sequence of significance for the minor standard facets is moral and ethics (0.279), passion at work (0.149), familiarity with the related articles of Government Procurement Act (0.129), cautious attitude (0.102), planning and use of procurement strategy (0.089), procurement operation flow control (0.083), human communication and coordination (0.082), advanced analysis and evaluation (0.048), and innovativeness and flexibility (0.04). 3. The research results have highlighted that the professional abilities of the government’s procurement staff perhaps should not be focused on regulatory intelligence and management skills, but have to stress personal value judgment. In personal value judgment, the items being valued most are moral and ethics, and passion at work; and what comes next is familiarity with the related articles in regulatory intelligence. As to innovativeness and flexibility in management skills, it can be considered as a professional ability being valued least. Meanwhile, in accordance with the research findings, the paper gives the following suggestions: 1. The government’s procurement staff should control the “core” laws, grasp the main points of procurement case from the very beginning, and cultivate the ability of advanced evaluation and analysis. 2. Communication course should be incorporated into the fundamental training stage of government procurement. 3. Most of the interviewees think that moral and ethics are the most significant professional abilities. However, the existing government procurement course lacks training of moral and ethics. Thus, we should further discuss whether the training course does not value the significance of moral and ethics to the government’s procurement staff, or whether moral and ethics are regarded as unable to be improved through training. 4. It is suggested that selection of samples can be expanded in the future studies; related scales can be developed and verification of real examples can be strengthened for making statistical analysis and comparison; or grounded theory and in-depth interviews can be used so as to extract, summarize and construct the connotation of the professional abilities of the government’s procurement staff.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the competitive situation of six teams in Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL). The subjects of this study were six teams in CPBL and use annual statistics of offense and defense in 2004. Data were analyzed using description to know performance on criterions and using Multidimentional Scaling(MDS)to analyze the skills position of six teams in CPBL. T-test was used to analyze benchmark team of criterions. Furthermore, we use benchmark approach to analyze competitive situations of six teams in CPBL. Based on results and suggestions of this study, it is the hope of the study to help ball teams with training, draft or exchange players to diminish the gaps. The results were as follows: 1. Parts of defense criterions: Uni-President Lions had the best performance on earned run average (ERA) and walks plus hits per inning (WHIP). Best performance on strikeouts per nine innings (K/9) belonged to Sinon Bulls. Brother Elephants rendered the best performance on fielding percentage (FPCT). Also, Brother Elephants did best performance on offense criterions of batting average (AVG), total average and at bats per run batted in (AB/RBI). 2. Competitive situations of six teams in CPBL The Uni-President Lions performs best on ERA of whole team, foreign and national, and whole team and national on WHIP. So Lions was benchmark on the above-mentioned 5 criterions in CPBL. Sinon Bulls was benchmark on K/9 of whole team and foreign, and AVG of team and infielders, and FPCT, TA and AB/RBI of infielders. Brother Elephants was benchmark on FPCT of team and infielders, AVG of team and outfielders, TA of team and outfielders, and AB/RBI of team and outfielders. Chinatrust Whales was benchmark on WHIP of foreign pitchers, which was superior to other teams in CPBL. Macoto Cobras and La New Bears perform not good enough to be benchmark on whole criterions 3. Abilities of foreign and national pitchers: Uni-President Lions’ foreign pitchers on ERA, Sinon Bulls’ foreign pitchers on K/9 and Chinatrust Whales’ foreign pitchers on WHIP were superior to other teams in CPBL. Uni-President Lions’ national pitchers were superior to other teams in CPBL on ERA and WHIP. Sinon Bulls’ national pitchers on K/9 were better than other teams in CPBL. 4. Abilities of infielders and outfielders: Sinon Bulls’ infielders on AVG, TA and AB/RBI were superior to other teams in CPBL. Brother Elephants’ infielders were superior on FPCT to other teams.

Abstract The purpose of this study was to discuss the current status and professional abilities of preschool educators in Taipei on implementing body movements and health curriculums, and analyzed the difference of the professional abilities between the preschool educators with different backgrounds on implementing body movements and health curriculums. The researcher modified a questionnaire survey, entitled "Questionnaire Survey on the Current Status and Professional Abilities of Preschools on Implementing Body Movements and Health Curriculums in Taipei," and used the same as the tool for collecting information. The researcher sent out 632 questionnaires, received 585 valid questionnaires and then conducted statistical analyses, according to the collected information, based on descriptive statistics, independent sample t-test and one-way ANOVA. The study had the conclusions as follows: 1. the current status on implementing body movements and health curriculums in Taipei's preschools were as follows: (1) the curriculums were mainly "conducted by the preschool educators independently," and account for 93.67%; (2) the weekly hours were mainly with "more than 151 minutes," and account for 37.61%; (3) the teaching spot was mainly the "indoor exclusive preschool children's physical classroom," and accounts for 44.96%; (4) the size of the teaching spot was mainly with "102.5 ~ 198.3 m2," and accounts for 34.87%; (5) the course pacing was mainly programmed by "the preschool educators," and accounts for 92.82%; (6) the source of the facilities/equipment was mainly "purchased by the preschool," and accounts for 93.68%; (7) the reference materials was mainly the "workshop/seminar relevant materials and reference guidelines for preschool children's movement/game," and account for 35.38%; 2. with respect to the Taipei's preschool educators being of or above medium level of professional abilities, the most important factor affecting the professional abilities of preschool educators on implementing body movements and health curriculums was "professional skill," and then "professional knowledge," and "professional growth" sequentially; 3. the professional abilities of preschool educators on implementing body movements and health curriculums significantly depend on the job titles, the age and service seniority of the preschool educators, age level of children, and whether the preschool educators had participated in training workshops/seminars and had relevant certificates; and 4. the professional abilities of preschool educators on implementing body movements and health curriculums on the spot significantly depend on the preschool educators, the weekly hours, the size of the teaching spot and reference materials used. The researcher also proposed suggestions based on the above conclusions for preschool educators, preschools, education authorities and subsequent researchers' reference. abstract: Federal mandates, such as, No Child Left Behind (NCLB) set high standards, but in reality did little to promote critical thinking instruction and learning in our nation's schools. Race to the Top is our nation's current attempt to improve education and thanks to this legislation there is now a set of common core standards aimed at infusing critical thinking into the curriculum. Districts in Arizona are struggling to provide common core training to prepare teachers to teach these new, rigorous standards. This is a problem because teaching critical thinking is challenging. While grade level teams often get together, little time is devoted to create lessons that are focused on deep learning and little time is set aside to observe lessons and reflect on student engagement. One potential solution to this may be lesson study. Lesson study is a method of professional development that encourages teachers to reflect on their teaching through a cycle of collaborative lesson planning and observation. The lesson study cycle connects with the constructed nature of learning provided by Vygotsky Space. This action research was designed to explore how 10 fourth, fifth, and sixth grade teachers at a K-8 school in Arizona learned how to infuse critical thinking into their lessons. This study took place from July to November of 2011. A mixed methods approach was used to collect data. Quantitative measures included Likert-items on a survey and lesson plans scored with the district rubric. Qualitative measures included open-ended survey items, transcriptions of lesson debriefs, reflective learning logs, and the researcher's personal field notes. Data were analyzed separately and then triangulated to reduce bias. Findings from this study indicate that although it was challenging for the teachers, lesson study enabled them to successfully integrate critical thinking into their lesson plans. The process of lesson study increased the teachers' efficacy to create lessons, and it helped them understand how important critical thinking was for their students. The teachers also came to value the lesson study process as a positive approach to professional development. Based on these findings, implications are made, and further action research cycles suggested.

A total of 440 questionnaires were distributed. Data were analyzed and the results were :1. Elementary school special education teachers exhibited high-intermediate performances on professional abilities and teaching effectiveness of inclusive adapted physical education. 2. There were five factors in professional abilities of adapted physical education, among which curriculum ability was paid the most attention. 3. There were four factors in teaching efficiency of adapted physical education, among which teaching assessment and strategy were paid the most attention. 4. There were significant differences on the professional abilities of adapted physical education for gender, age and regular exercise habit. 5. There were significant differences on the teaching efficiency of adapted physical education for age. 6. There were significant correlations between “professional abilities” and “teaching efficiency” of adapted physical education for elementary special education teachers.

The formal questionnaire performed effective 709 samples, which were conducted the analysis by descriptive statistics, t-test and ANOVA that various conclusions were obtained as follows: 1.The actual situation of present professional performance shown by junior high schools’ and elementary schools’ practice teachers in ten basic abilities for Grade 1-9 Curriculum is passable. The scores gained by junior high schools’ and elementary schools’ practice teachers in professional performance of ten basic abilities for Grade 1-9 Curriculum questionnaire belongs to the degree higher than middle; and the scoring order of entire professional performance is evaluation of teachers in teachers training institutions, evaluation of fellows, self-evaluation, and evaluation of in-service teachers. 2.Among related analyses of evaluation regarding professional performance shown by junior high schools’ and elementary schools’ practice teachers in ten basic abilities for Grade 1-9 Curriculum, it’s found that the internal correlations of related degree of various aspects and general scale reach to obvious level from the internal structure of internal related tests for various aspects and general scale. 3.Among the variables of different backgrounds, there are obvious diversity of professional performance in sex, teaching subjects and education; however, there is no obvious diversity of professional performance in different functions of office, the experience before practice and the number of year after graduation. 4.The diversity of professional performance in ten basic abilities for Grade 1-9 Curriculum from variables of different backgrounds as junior high schools’ and elementary schools’ practice teachers: (1) “Self-understanding and Potential Development” (2) “Appreciation, Performance and Creation” (3) “Career Planning and Life-long Learning” (4) Expression, Communication and Share” (5) “Respect, Care and Team Cooperation” (6) “Culture Learning and International Understanding” (7) “Planning, Organization and Practice” (8) “Employment of Technology and Information” (9) “Active Exploration and Research” (10) “Independent Thinking and Problem-Solving”. Finally, this study conducted analysis and discussion according to above result in order to obtain conclusion and suggestions, moreover, provide the same to education administration authority, the practice schools of junior high schools and elementary schools, in-service teachers, junior high schools’ and elementary schools’ practice teachers, and future related researchers for reference. It’s expected to be advantageous to upgrading the level of local study.

The 21st century is a new economic era, in which characterized by interdependent work activities in both the national and global area. The more frequent occasions for various collaborations and international exchanges bring all types of challenges and opportunities. This study aimed to understand the career development of a professional curator and to identify factors contributing to his career success. The work content of a curator is diverse and extends across organizational boundaryless career. The intent of the current study was to develop an understanding of the reasons behind the for career success of the most talented people in creative fields based on a definition that is both [a] grounded literature review [b] in the boundaryless career theory. To summarize the salient features of the data, three findings are of interest. First, openness is necessary, but internal motivation with great discipline and altruistic tendency help a professional worker to excel in the pursuit. The altruistic and internal motivation supports Obrist to face dynamic work environment. In addition, working at various locations and changing rules are required for high cross-cultural adaptability. As a professional curator to create a conversation between audience and artwork is the most important thing than display objects in the exhibition. Since curating is an interdisciplinary job, the internship or mentor system may support and incubate students to understand the real world. Last but not least, began to establish a social connection that is conductive to the career development after determining the goals. Bring new information seems to be a good way to build the first step. It is worth of further investigation on how we can maximize personal value system and perform interdisciplinary consolidation to cope with organizational reform and increasingly complicated management challenges in the cultural and creative industry.

The study attempts to analyze the situation among teachers’ professional abilities, self-efficacy on happiness in physical education teachers in junior high and high schools, and find the influences among junior high and high schools teachers’ professional abilities, self-efficacy and happiness. The sample of this study includes physical education teachers in junior high and high schools in Taiwan. We choose 60 public schools and sent out 500 questionnaires altogether and retrieve 474, the valid retrieve rate comes to 94.8%. The main findings of this study were as follows: There is no significant difference between teachers’ professional abilities and these background variables, such as different genders, marital status, education degree, age, professional title, and teachers’ work place. There is significant difference between teachers’ education degree and self-efficacy. Also, there is significant difference between teachers’ happiness and these background variables, such as years of working, age, professional title, and teachers’ work place. Junior high and high school teachers’ professional abilities have positive influences on self-efficacy. Junior high and high school teachers’ professional abilities have positive influences on happiness. Junior high and high school teachers’ self-efficacy have positive influences on happiness. Self-efficacy has partial mediation effect in this model. Teachers’ professional abilities can tell 49% explanation of variance to self-efficacy. Teachers’ professional abilities and self-efficacy can tell 17% explanation of variance to happiness. Last but not least, this research also provide some practical suggestions for teachers to increase teachers’ happiness.

The purpose of this study is to explore the relationships and differences between the professional abilities and teaching effectiveness in adapted physical education (APE). The method of the research was questionnaire survey procedure, and the participants were the physical educators and special education teachers in Pingtung County. The count of sent questionnaires was 274, and the total of the effective questionnaires was 221. The data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, independent sample t-test, one way ANOVA, Pearson product-moment correlation, and stepwise regression. The findings of the study were as following: 1. In APE professional abilities, the level of the teachers’ professional abilities in APE was above average. In “professional knowledge”, the teachers graduated from special education department were better than the teachers graduated from physical education department. In “professional knowledge”, the teachers graduated from special education department were better than the teachers graduated from other departments. In “professional skills”, the teachers graduated from physical education department were better than the teachers graduated from other departments. In “professional knowledge”, the homeroom teachers were better than the teachers with administrative work. In “professional knowledge”, the special education teachers were better than the physical education teachers. In “whole professional abilities” and “professional skills”, the teachers haven been the PE educator of the students with disabilities were better than the teachers never been the PE educator of the students with disabilities. 2. In APE teaching effectiveness, the level of the teachers’ teaching effectiveness was high. In “curriculum planning”, the female teachers were better than the male teachers. In “curriculum planning”, the teachers graduated from special education department were better than the teachers graduated from physical education department. In “curriculum planning”, the special education teachers were better than the physical education teachers. 3. There was a significant correlation between the professional abilities and teaching effectiveness in APE. 4. There was a significant prediction in “professional abilities” to “teaching effectiveness” in APE.

In the master's thesis the possibilities of application of creative aspects of vocal technology in the process of vocal training of students are experimentally checked, and also the basic approaches to development of creative abilities of vocalists are systematized and the role of development of creative abilities in the process of professional training of vocalists is defined. The work contains a substantiation of the expediency of developing the level of creative abilities of students - future vocalists and the development of methodological recommendations for the development of creative abilities of vocalists in the process of their professional training.
