Abstract:
The article is devoted to the theoretical analysis of the scientific views of domestic and foreign scientists on the crises of human development as a person and a subject of activity. The essential signs of a crisis of professional development are indicated - a difficult, difficult situation; a process consisting of external and internal contradictions that a person overcomes thanks to the socio-cultural environment and formed personal qualities. The factors of influence on the crisis of professional development, types and stages of crises of professional development, strategies of human behavior to overcome contradictions, as well as ways to overcome the crisis are highlighted. Special attention in scientific research is paid to crises that disorganize individual human behavior: at the beginning of the formation of an individual as a professional, in connection with entering a new work collective or its disintegration, at the stage of completing a professional career. The periods of development crises are characterized. The stages of the professional development crisis are revealed. Comparisons of scientific judgments about the crisis of professional development of domestic and foreign scientists-psychologists and ways of overcoming the development crisis are given. The conclusion is formulated that, in addition to the negative consequences of the crisis of professional development, there is also a positive result in the form of further development of the personality as a professional.

Abstract:
Introduction A crisis can be described as subjective experience that threatens and overwhelms a person’s ability to handle a specific situation. In dealing with crises some people are looking for support from professionals. The “professional relationship” between people experiencing a crisis and professionals plays an important role in the successful management of a crisis which has been widely researched in many contexts. However, regarding outpatient services (e. g. crisis resolution home treatment teams), yet empirical evidence remains limited. Objective We aim to explore descriptions of supportive professional relationships during outpatient crisis interventions in empirical literature. Accordingly, a scoping review was conducted to identify types of evidence, map the key concepts, and point out research gaps. Methods MEDLINE, PsycINFO, CINAHL and Social Science Citation Index were searched for studies reporting empirical data on the professional relationship between people experiencing a crisis (18+) and professionals (e. g. social workers, psychiatrists) during a crisis intervention, defined as a short-term, face-to-face, low threshold, time-limited, outpatient, and voluntary intervention to cope with crises. Studies were excluded if they were published before 2007, in languages other than English and German, and if they couldn’t be accessed. Included studies were summarized, compared, and synthesized using qualitative content analyses. Results 3.741 records were identified, of which 8 met the eligibility criteria. Only one study directly focused on the relationship; the others addressed varied aspects. Two studies explored the perspectives of service users, five focused on those of the professionals and one study examined both. The empirical literature was categorized into three main themes: strategies used to develop a supportive professional relationship, factors influencing the relationship and the nature of these relationships. Discussion The results reveal a gap in understanding the nature of supportive professional relationships from the service users’ perspective, as well as how professionals construct these relationships.

Abstract:
The article deals with the results of the analysis of the person’s professional mobility as a comprehensive tool for overcoming the professional crises. It also determines the existence of many unascertained psychological problems in its structure. One of these problems is the problem of overcoming maladaptive forms of a person’s psychological defence based on his professional mobility in stressful conditions of the professional development crises. Stressful uncertainty in the professional crisis and the high ambivalent tension, which the person is experiencing, characterize the specialist’s maladaptive development according to the “catastrophic” scenario. In the conditions of the professional development crisis a specialist cannot leave it adaptively and flexibly due to a limited number of rigidly patterned professional barriers and behaviour models. Such maladaptive patterned movement of a specialist towards the disintegrational destruction of the whole system of his professional development can be overcome constructively on the basis of his professional mobility model, selection and realization of the further professional movement vector. We consider the interactive strategy of a specialist’s behaviour for constructive overcoming professional crises in the system of his professional development, based on the development of the ability of directed transitions to new professional movement trajectories in the points of the system bifurcation, as the professional mobility.

The health crisis caused by COVID-19 impacted the dynamics of the work of health professionals, specifically in nursing professionals who were aware of the essential need for care and a safe environment to reduce in-hospital risks and mortality indicators. The study aimed to analyze the scientific evidence on the lessons learned during the health crisis in the work of the nursing professional, and the analysis of scientific articles published between 2020 and 2023 in the Scopus databases, obtaining a total of 30 articles. The findings show that there is a need to adopt health contingency policies to respond to health crises, as well as to establish and apply coping strategies in health professionals to avoid the impact on their mental health. Additionally, it is important to recognize their role in society. In conclusion, contingency policies and coping strategies must be developed to ensure the safety and well-being of nursing professionals and prevent the impact on their mental health during health crises like the one caused by COVID-19. Furthermore, it is important to recognize and value the fundamental role of nursing professionals in disease prevention and care in society and continue to work on developing policies and support strategies for health professionals to ensure their safety and well-being during health crises.

Abstract:
In a global crisis, it becomes more difficult to cope with personality crises. Women are increasingly faced with stress in the workplace, the work is becoming more difficult, the likelihood of wrong decisions is growing, conflict situations are provoked and, as a result, this affects the results of the organization as a whole, so there is a need to more actively study the issue of professional self-realization of women in the period mid life. The purpose of this study was to identify the psychological characteristics of professional self-realization in women who have experienced a mid-life crisis. The study involved 52 women. The age of the respondents is from 35 to 45 years, which corresponds to the period of middle life. The sample was divided into two subgroups of 26 women who experienced a professional crisis and 26 women who experienced other crises. Most women have an average work experience of 10 years, almost half of the respondents combine work with childcare. To study the psychological characteristics of professional self-realization in women who experienced a mid-life crisis, the following methods were used: the Methodology “Development Crises” by Petryavskaya L.G.; the Test of meaningful life orientations (MLO) by James Crumbo and Leonard Maholik, adapted by Leontiev D.A.; S elf-actualization test (SAT), a variant of the Russian-language adaptation of Shostrom's self-actualization test (adapted by Aleshina Yu.E., Gozman L.Ya., Zagika M.V. and Kroz M.V.); a Short form of Jones and Crandall's Personal Orientation Questionnaire; Methodology "Type and level of professional self-realization" Gavrilova E.A.). In the static processing of the results, descriptive statistics methods and the U-Mann Whitney non-parametric statistical test were used. Statistical data processing was carried out using the STATISTICA 10 software package. The study found that both groups of women note the presence of a large number of problems associated with the professional sphere, such as loss of meaning in work and adaptation to the profession. The main components diagnosed during the analysis were: a feeling of fatigue from work and dissatisfaction with self-realization in work. The process of overcoming the crisis is difficult, regardless of what caused it. The main chosen ways to overcome the crises were: friends, family, children, travel and work, as well as changing the type of activity. Turning to a specialized specialist to solve problems related to crises turns out to be the least popular. Women who have experienced a professional crisis tend to live in the past, they have dissatisfaction with their lives, lack of interest in what is happening around, lack of pleasure from the work performed, lack of desire to set and achieve new goals. In women who have experienced a professional crisis, the resource component of professional self-realization is expressed, which is designed to ensure its procedural side, and non-reflective (imaginary) professional self-realization is expressed. Women in both groups are prone to the qualities of a self-actualizing personality, but at the same time, women who experienced a professional crisis showed weaker aspects of self-acceptance, but at the same time, the ability to concentrate on a given problem compared to women who survived other crises.

Abstract:
Journalistic role perceptions have been extensively studied in general contexts, but little is known as to how roles – or role prioritization – may shift across contexts, and professional characteristics. The aim of this study was gaining an understanding of journalists’ changing role perceptions in health crisis coverage, and moreover to examine potential differences between general and specialist reporters. We conducted 22 in-depth interviews with reporters with experience in health crisis reporting in Germany and Finland. Findings suggest that journalists’ roles shift when covering health crises (versus non-crises), towards a role as public mobilizers, towards classifying risks and from a watchdog to a more co-operative role. Furthermore, professional characteristics matter in journalists’ understanding and performance of their roles. Specialist reporters appear better equipped to deal with the challenges of health crisis coverage, such as balancing remaining critical with co-operation with authorities in their efforts to contain crises. Specialist reporters are also less likely to get swayed by the panic often accompanying health crises than general reporters are.

This profession is very difficult and dangerous to health (both physical and mental) and even life. Therefore, personal and professional crises, the passage of which is characteristic of any person, in police officers may become particularly acute and maladaptive. The level of responsibility of a police officer should always be at the highest level, which can also lead to rapid professional burnout, chronic stress. If you combine this with the presence of a crisis, you can face an employee who is desperate in himself and his profession, does not know what to do and where to move next. All this makes it impossible to feel job satisfaction, professional well-being, which in turn reduces efficiency and professional reliability. However, it is obvious that the professional activity of a police officer is a guarantee of the safety of citizens and himself. All this points to the need to create effective measures to maintain the vitality of police officers, maintain their health and psychological well-being.

Abstract:
The context of this research is the Shigalo Tabernacle Worship Centre, where the researcher is currently ministering. The faith community is within Shigalo Village in the town of Malamulele in the Vhembe District, which has been plagued by numerous forms of violence, inflicting emotional, physical and psycho-spiritual pain on the community. Yet it has been the observation of the researcher that very few members of the community, particularly members who are also members of the faith community, seek professional help – help that is freely offered to the community by medical and other professionals, psychologists, social workers as well as pastors. The narrative that the researcher has identified in his involvement with this faith community was that some members of the faith community choose to rather suffer, by keeping all their physical, emotional, psychological, social and spiritual problems to themselves than to seek professional help. In the community there are various possibilities of seeking professional help – from doctors to psychologists, social workers as well as pastors. The research journey explores and describes how families of Shigalo Tabernacle Worship Centre perceive (view) professional help (counselling). The research sought to understand this perception within the context of their faith and their culture, trying to determine what narratives informed this perception. The objective of the research was first to understand this practice and second to seek ways in which these attitudes and perceptions can be overcome. To do this research, a sample of members was chosen, together with various professional caregivers: Two nurses, two social workers, two educators, two pastoral counsellors, one Medical doctor and a psychologist, who have been in the field of their specializations for more than five years and who are from the Malamulele area within the Thulamela Municipality of Vhembe district. The research was mainly to listen to the stories of the members and complementing these stories with the stories of the professional caregivers, trying to understand how these families constructed their view of faith and how it relates to seeking professional help.
Dissertation (MA Theol)--University of Pretoria, 2017.
Practical Theology
MA Theol
Unrestricted

Abstract:
This thesis focuses on the National Education Inspectors (IEN), the managers of primary education in the French education system. At district level, they are responsible for driving forward and supporting the implementation of ministerial and academic policies among teaching staff. Since 2013, school reforms have abounded. The year 2020 is also marked by two events. The first - the health crisis - is forcing exceptional and destabilising reorganisations. The second - the assassination of Samuel Paty - has turned the school and its republican values upside down. These political and social changes required adjustments that weighed heavily on the players in the school system, particularly the inspectors who were responsible for putting them into practice. Against this backdrop, our research examines the professional identity of school inspectors - that prescribed by the institution (IPP) and that expressed (IPE) - in relation to the concept of change triggered by the reforms and crises of the last decade. The survey is structured around three methods of data collection and analysis, using jury reports to characterise the IPP, career histories and a questionnaire to document the IPE. Our results show that the CAI is in line with the PPI, although the values of surpassing oneself dominate the CAI. Based on a thematic analysis of the narratives, our modelling of the space for appropriating norms highlights the triangulation between "values" and "norms". As far as changes are concerned, the crises have reinforced the conservative values of both the IPP and the IPE. A study of the reforms reveals that the IEN's missions have become more complex and that administrative tasks have become more onerous, although their prerogatives have not increased. This can be a source of frustration for some IENs, despite their commitment, particularly during the implementation of the 2013 inclusive school reforms and the 2017 inspection. They express a feeling of loss of efficiency and exhaustion

Abstract:
The aim of this research was to analyze: a) the reordering of the world of work and its resulting changes that have affected the Brazilian Physical Education area, through the adjustment of this profession; b) the implications related to the adjustment of this profession, as far as intervention and professional formation/qualification and other areas is concerned; c) the strategies used by workers to face the situation made up from the structuring of professional councils in Physcial Education. For this, we began preparing a theoretical chart showing the contemporary changes in the world of work, the modifications demanded by qualification in Education area. We also showed the theoretical discussion ocurred in this area during the decade of the nineties and the reordering of its work, bringing back the Marxist theory on the beginning and the crises of Capital and on working as a category in its two dimensions: onthological and historical. In a second moment, we established a discussion using bibliografhy on this subject, the discussion ocurred in this category of Physical Education teachers, starting in the decade of the fourties that led to the adjustment of this profession in 1998, and the foundations that have guided this profession. At last, we approached the results of this adjustment in the area of Physical Education and the workers’ resistence in this area and in others, such as martial arts, capoeira, dancing, fightings and yoga, against interference of the Physical Education professional. At this stage, we used documental sources and carried out 11 prestructured interviews with different leaderships. As a result of this research, we found out that: a) capital uses all social ways to interfere and control the deep crises in which it is involved, by the other hand, work is subsumed to capital although has faced it with an intensive struggle for freedom; b) Physical Education acts as a mediator making up a human formation picture demanded by capital, becoming itself a distinguished class, at school, for those that can use it, and starting to be used as corporal practices out of school, representing the employment ideology, through precarious work; c) the profession adjustment is dealt as a cooporativist strategy, adjusting itself to the way capitalism manages its crises, thus affecting work and formation/qualification of different corporal practices; d) considering the capitalism advanced structure of the professional council, the resisting workers’ strategies are divided between adoption or rupture to this same pattern for other areas, mediated by adoption defenses or not to the contemporary demands of capital. Finally, we got to the conclusion, from this thesis, of the need to supplant capital relation, raising up objective conditions for the world of freedom, when it is possible to assure democratic prodution means, culture and this way, the access to total development of corporal practices.

Abstract:

Davies, Kerry. "What is a crisis? : service user, carer and professional understandings of crisis : a Q-methodological approach." Thesis, University of Nottingham, 2016. http://eprints.nottingham.ac.uk/36518/.

Abstract:
Background. This topic was proposed by the Service User and Carer Advisory Panel (SUCAP) which informs and supports Clinical Psychology training at The University of Nottingham. The project developed due to their concern about the ambiguity of crisis. They suggested that their understandings may be different from that of professionals. The reconfiguration of acute mental health services influenced the nationwide implementation of community treatment alternatives. However, crisis has remained a poorly operationalised concept, which can lead to problems in clinical practice. An increase in empirical efforts has aimed to establish clarity and increase the clinical utility of definitions. Despite these efforts, little is known about how service users and carers understand crisis. As suggested by the SUCAP, it is unclear if there is commonality within understandings of crisis. Due to the multiple stakeholders, exploring understandings of crisis from multiple perspectives could be useful in clinical practice. Aim. This study aimed to use Q-methodology to investigate multiple perspectives of crisis. By including service users, carers and professionals the research aimed to highlight consensus and discrepancy within these perspectives. Method. Twenty-six participants were recruited from a National Health Service crisis team, a third sector crisis service and an independent carer support group. In Phase One, clinical interviews with 16 participants (taken from each group) were conducted. Qualitative analysis aided the process of constructing a Q-set of 78 statements that represented the understandings of a crisis experience. In Phase Two, 13 participants (some of whom took part in Phases One and Two) completed the Q-sort procedure, in which they rated the extent to which each statement was characteristic of crisis. To support analysis and interpretation, demographic information was obtained, and pre/post questions elicited reflection on their completed Q-sorts. An inverted factor analytic method was used to analyse the Q-sort data. Results. The results of each Phase are discussed. The rotated two factor solution accounted for fifty percent of variance in people’s understandings of crisis. Factor one related to the understanding of crisis as an experience which can be defined by changes in awareness and perception of reality. Factor two related to the understanding of crisis as intense emotional pain, which is largely related to fear, anxiety and despair. Contrary to existing definitions of crisis, risk and mental illness were not highlighted as central characteristics of crisis. Different pairs of ‘groups’ (service user/professional; carer/professional; service user/carer) had little impact on the amount of shared understanding. However, understandings of crisis were highly variable between individuals. Furthermore, service users’ understandings were more variable than those of professionals or carers. Discussion. Although the findings offer some support to current theories of crisis, they contrast with the dominating characteristics of crisis represented in policy and empirical literature. This suggests that over deterministic definitions of crisis, that focus on risk and mental illness, are insufficient. These findings have implications for both clinical practice and future research.

The aim of this paper is to stand out the expressions of work conditions of social assistants in the Federal Institutes of Education, Science and Technology - IFET´s, based on a sample of five Brazilian states/regions. The study adopts the assumption implying that the present crisis of capital reproduction, the State management counter-reform and the changes in the working ‘world’ are giving rise to new ways of thinking, organizing and managing labor, and that the association of these universal determinants male set out particular incidences to the work conditions of the male and female social assistants, whose toil permits a mediation of student assistance policies inside IFET´s professional and technological education. The research basis involved a range of 146 social assistants, from a universe of 176 professionals, linked to 99 institutional units geographically spread in the states of Pará, Rio Grande do Norte, Minas Gerais, Rio Grande do Sul e Goiás, and that entered IFET´s so far as January 2015. The research development indicated that the structural and conjunctural crises of capital of the contemporary scene tries to recompose itself through fictitious profits which by themselves do not produce more value, looking for other means of fulfillment, as, for example, increasing the job insecurity. In this regard, it advances preferentially on the living labor with the unconditional aid of States-Nations which, for attending the intents of capitalist reproduction, develop adjustment policies for the sector of social security, the educational sphere, the working area and so on, whose reflects ‘invade’ work through phenomena like flexibilization, precariousness and intensification of work, lengthening of working hours etc. These universal elements common to the work conditions in the 21st century are indexed, with their particularities, on the work of the social assistants, which as employed persons began to act in the sphere of the inner public state of IFET, with dimensions and conditions of work analogous to those of the productive work, considering, among other possibilities, as the empirical field revealed, the professionals are gradually submitted to more and more controlled and extensive, intensified, tense day’s work with accumulated tasks, what certainly makes the professional work in the various IFET´s units more vulnerable to the condition of a precarious job.
Abstract The objective was to assess Professional, Health Advocate and Scholar CanMEDS competencies in anesthesia residents using a Generic Integrated Objective Structured Assessment Tool (GIOSAT) during simulated scenarios. Methods Twenty one anesthesia residents participated in managing two scenarios: “do not resuscitate” and “morphine overdose”. Four trained blinded raters analyzed video recordings using the GIOSAT. Internal structure was examined using generalizability analysis. Results Results of the g-study focused on PHAS and ME components alone, participants accounted for 20% of the scores variance (G-coefficient 0.66). A D-study indicated two raters and eleven or more scenarios would be required for a G-coefficient > 0.80. Conclusion This study demonstrates construct validity for assessing PHAS competencies for low stakes assessment. Results address the gap of assessment performance for PHAS competencies, describe methodology and produce recommendations for summative assessments using simulation.

Abstract:
AbstractThe First World War induced a fundamental change in Britain’s treatment of disabled ex-servicemen. The newly created Ministry of Pensions established legal pension rights and acknowledged accountability for the medical treatment and professional rehabilitation of disabled veterans. This chapter demonstrates that with an emotional culture of sympathy for war disabled victims growing, as a result of a close relationship between industry, charities, and the state, newspaper editors and picture-house proprietors generously placed their services at the disposal of the government to bring that suffering directly into the civilian community. Ever-larger audiences and readers became emotionally attached to the disabled ex-servicemen’s plight and felt a collective responsibility for their transition back into civil and domestic life, not just leaving philanthropy to the social leaders.

Abstract:
Abstract The chapter Disruption in the Information Industry: Precariousness and Professional ‘Decapitalisation’ focuses on the information industry and the dramatic changes it has experienced as a result of digitalisation and the continuous crises that have directly impacted not only the ways the profession is practised but also the conditions in which journalists work. This section analyses the effects of these global processes within the Spanish context, with the aim of contextualising the structural conditions upon which the information industry is based, including advertising investment, employment, business models, and corporate mergers. The last section delves into how the economic situation has directly influenced the structure of the journalistic profession and resulted in the “decapitalisation” of journalism’s watchdog role, with a marked increase in jobs directed towards corporate communication, compared to the dwindling state of conventional media newsrooms. The chapter also underscores how the current working conditions for journalists clash with the professional values that have traditionally characterised the field, particularly journalistic autonomy, which is increasingly constrained by commercial and political pressures, as supported by various studies. To further explore the state of the profession and the conditions under which journalism is practised, the final chapter includes testimony from 16 junior and senior Spanish professionals, participants in two focus groups held in 2024. This section brings together first-hand experiences and reflections, offering a detailed overview of the current professional context and the circumstances under which journalists work.

Abstract:
Risk and crisis management enables healthcare professionals to provide treatment and care services in a safe environment. Crises are typically challenging situations that often create both material and spiritual adversities but also allow for the assessment of opportunities, can be managed by making use of strategic management plans, and are usually in exceedingly difficult circumstances (expected or unexpected). Healthcare services face numerous challenges every day. Therefore, integrated risk and crisis management within healthcare institutions should be conducted through different processes. A review of the literature on risk and crisis management reveals numerous studies covering the recent COVID-19 pandemic period. However, beyond the COVID-19 crisis, healthcare professionals may face various other risks and crises. Thus, it is very important to carry out studies on scenarios such as natural disasters, economic crises, migration, and others from this perspective.

AbstractDuring the strict COVID restrictions in 2020, the ‘Critical Theory, Education and Social Work Reading Group’ based at the University of Sydney met via Zoom to discuss Raewyn Connell’s The good university (2019). The crisis faced by higher education institutions—set against broader social and political crises triggered by the pandemic—was the palpable backdrop for discussions. Drawing on examples offered by pioneering universities and educational reformers around the world, Connell outlines a vision for making universities more engaging and more productive places, driven by social good rather than profit, and helping to build fairer societies.Connell’s book generated a rich stream of reflections and responses, especially from postgraduate students who are in a liminal space in the global higher education industry. They are often both students and precariously employed staff; both visible as sources of income for universities and invisible as its workers; both already within the university system and uncertain if they will remain. In this chapter, three (former) postgraduates of the reading group—Meenakshi Krishnaraj, Ren-Hao Leo Xu, and Pat Norman—engage with Connell on university teaching, research, and professional work, respectively. Each in their own way raises the question: How can we reimagine ‘the good university’?

AbstractMédecins Sans Frontières (MSF), or Doctors without Borders, was started by a few doctors and journalists in the 1970s. Today, MSF is a humanitarian actor to be reckoned with, with its emergency medicine expertise and its unique interpretation of the neutrality and independence principles. The organization has acted unconventionally in numerous humanitarian crises and criticized peer organizations in the sector. This nonconformity has never harmed MSF; the organization is highly respected by the general public. This chapter analyzes how MSF as a principled provocateur could evolve into a public guardian of humanitarian values. We posit that MSF’s controversial acts have become an integral part of its reputation; it is expected to go against the grain. However, in order to be credible, the organization works hard to uphold its ‘volunteer and humanitarian spirit’ and strives to be an effective and professional organization.

Abstract:
The report presents an analysis of media reflection on the deepening political and economic crises in Bulgaria. The media are an important factor in crisis situations. They have responsibilities stemming from the fact that the way they reflect reality and form the public‘s opinion about the ongoing political and economic processes has a significant impact on them. The analysis answers the question to what extent the media are aware of these responsibilities and whether they contribute to the deepening of negative processes. Publications in four media were studied over a six-month period (January 2022-June 2022). A content analysis of 3754 publications related to the topics of crises in politics and economics was conducted.

Crisis communication occupies a huge part of the public relations of state institutions in Bulgaria. Bulgarian governments enjoy traditionally low levels of trust since the beginning of the democratic path of development of the country. The digital era has further contributed to the creation and development of crises, and to a particular extent, this fact concerns the political field. The effectiveness of crisis communications is of paramount importance for the governance of the country. The implementation of agreed and effective strategic government communications in times of crisis represents a real challenge in the modern conditions of the information and communication environment.

Abstract:
The COVID-19 pandemic has put business organizations in front of a severe test to overcome the many negative consequences of the crisis, related to disruption of supply chains and suspension of activity in various sectors, which could lead to their destruction. Companies face severe challenges in ensuring the continuity of the production process and the provision of services. These new challenges require a quick and efficient response from management, which is undoubtedly based on the construction and implementation of an effective anti-crisis strategy. The purpose of this report is to build a link between theoretical and empirical knowledge about this process and to contribute to the improvement of the overall management activity in crisis conditions. The report‘s central thesis is that every business needs to be prepared to overcome crises long before they occur, as practice, unfortunately, shows that at some stage, their occurrence is inevitable. For this purpose, a methodology is presented that can significantly facilitate managers in their crisis management process. In order to check to what extent business organizations, have an anti-crisis strategy and successful practices for dealing with the crisis of COVID-19, we surveyed 50 company owners from 13 different sectors. Its results are interpreted and compared with other representative studies. The survey shows that the small and medium-sized companies most affected by the crisis still need a pre-prepared anti-crisis action plan. This is a worrying finding because if managers need good tools to prevent and control external and internal threats and work towards constantly testing and updating them, it could have enormous consequences for their business. The situation can be critical, especially for unprepared organizations with no protective tools in reserve.

Abstract:
This paper deals with the definition and aspects of crises, emphasizing their impact on the mental health of individuals, especially professional soldiers. Crises are complex and require an individual approach to solving them. Protective factors such as social support and professional help can mitigate the negative effects on the psychological health of individuals experiencing challenging life situations. The paper deals with various aspects of loss and its psychological, social, and emotional impact. He divided losses into several categories: functional loss, relational loss, intrapsychic loss, role loss and systemic loss. Abstract:
With ever-increasing risks due to global disasters including the COVID-19, and continuous violent conflicts in various parts of the world, the education sector has had to embrace changes at a very high level of innovation. In actualization of these hardships, the constructs of teacher self-efficacy and professional identity have come up as some of the most important variables that can easily determine teachers’ capability to manage emergent situations. This article therefore explores the relationship between these two propositions more specifically concerning the consequences for teaching during crises. Teacher self-efficacy is the level of confidence that a teacher has in producing a favorable outcome for their students, while professional identity is the standards, perceptions, values, purposes, and history that shape the identity of a teacher. The article in question is devoted to the conceptions and significance of the mentioned notions and, while doing so, emphasizes on their co-dependency and synergy. Focus is placed on how crisis influences learning and the critical understanding of how teachers with high level of self-efficacy and professional work commitment demonstrate enhanced ability to manage changes and stress while embracing professional teaching responsibilities. Building on the idea of crisis teaching, this article also delves deeper into the relationships between self-efficacy, professional identity, and crisis teaching crucial for personal and professional growth through the factors that foster flexibility, perseverance, problem-solving strategies and entrepreneurship. Recommendations for increasing teacher self-efficacy and professional status are set out here, such as cultivating a conducive climate, fostering professional development and embracing mirroring and self-reflective practices. Furthermore, the article discusses ideas on the implementation of entrepreneurship education in teachers’ learning and professional experience and major opportunities, such as developing a mindset of growth, improving problem-solving, increasing the ability to cope with failures and changes, and learning leadership and innovation. Given the analysis of the coping patterns of self-efficacy and professional identity and their impact on the decision-making of teachers during crisis, this article offers useful information for strengthening the fulfilment of educators and the ways they can master adverse situations. This article provides a clear view and understanding of such important constructs and specifies the measures and ways to develop them and hence strengthening the education sector for adverse situations.

Abstract:
This report describes a systematic pedagogical process model for clinical supervision. The model is group-based and applicable both in theoretical and clinical training. This model is based on the group participants' experiences in care work aimed at integrating practical and theoretical knowledge. The emotional part of the nursing process refers to nurturing caregivers and supporting the development of personal and empirical professional knowledge. The model is based on group participants' self-perceived experiences in care work. The method of instruction is equally applicable to professionals in the same or different professions within healthcare. The model can further be used at moments of crisis or restructuring work at care facilities. The model can also be used in group supervision of patient/client groups based on different themes. The conversation method involves systematically accounting for a self-perceived situation or problem through questions, and it can also be used as a communication technique in dealing with individual patients and families.

Abstract:
In a world exposed to uncertainty and upsets, the development of organizational resilience is often proposed to improve performance. Intended as a complement – but also sometimes as a counterpoint – to management approaches based on anticipation and preparedness, resilience-based approaches aim to improve the ability of professionals to react in an opportune manner to extraordinary and unexpected situations. Despite increasing interest for this change in paradigm, few concrete case studies have been documented. The work presented in this document explores the possibilities offered by new training modalities, for and using resilience, which aim to improve the ability of professionals to produce safety in work situations. The work is part of a research project called FOResilience, led by Simon Flandin and Germain Poizat at the University of Geneva, which was partially funded by the FonCSI. Three characteristics of the authors’ approach are worth emphasizing: - They adopt a broad definition of “training”, which includes professional development activities and organizational interventions, with a particular interest for methods that differ from classical classroom-based training, such as crisis exercises, discussion forums, coaching, and collective analysis of work situations. - They are more interested in activities and methods that develop professionals’ ability to interpret ambiguous situations and to act and cooperate in unexpected or critical situations, than in activities that promote a quasi-mechanical execution of a procedure or deployment of a pre-established plan. - They see safety as resulting as much from the daily work activities that develop professionals’ ability to act in appropriate ways in a constantly evolving context, as from the initial safe system design and careful implementation of operating procedures that cover all possible situations. Two families of training/intervention methods are analyzed: - Methods that develop proactivity in routine situations, the daily activities that create conditions which are favourable to safe operations. These include different forms of discussion between professionals that aim to improve the shared understanding of goal conflicts, of the decisions and compromises made, the difficulties encountered (such as procedures that are inappropriate in certain situations) and improvement opportunities. - Methods that encourage reactivity in extraordinary or critical situations and the ability to bounce back after a critical organizational upset. These include various simulation-based methods, such as crisis exercises, though designed to improve the ability of professionals to make sense of and react in appropriate ways to unexpected events, rather than the classical objective of exercises to check correct execution of a predefined plan.

Kelly, Luke. Lessons Learned on Cultural Heritage Protection in Conflict and Protracted Crisis. Institute of Development Studies (IDS), 2021. http://dx.doi.org/10.19088/k4d.2021.068.

Full text
Abstract:
This rapid review examines evidence on the lessons learned from initiatives aimed at embedding better understanding of cultural heritage protection within international monitoring, reporting and response efforts in conflict and protracted crisis. The report uses the terms cultural property and cultural heritage interchangeably. Since the signing of the Hague Treaty in 1954, there has bee a shift from 'cultural property' to 'cultural heritage'. Culture is seen less as 'property' and more in terms of 'ways of life'. However, in much of the literature and for the purposes of this review, cultural property and cultural heritage are used interchangeably. Tangible and intangible cultural heritage incorporates many things, from buildings of globally recognised aesthetic and historic value to places or practices important to a particular community or group. Heritage protection can be supported through a number of frameworks international humanitarian law, human rights law, and peacebuilding, in addition to being supported through networks of the cultural and heritage professions. The report briefly outlines some of the main international legal instruments and approaches involved in cultural heritage protection in section 2. Cultural heritage protection is carried out by national cultural heritage professionals, international bodies and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) as well as citizens. States and intergovernmental organisations may support cultural heritage protection, either bilaterally or by supporting international organisations. The armed forces may also include the protection of cultural heritage in some operations in line with their obligations under international law. In the third section, this report outlines broad lessons on the institutional capacity and politics underpinning cultural protection work (e.g. the strength of legal protections; institutional mandates; production and deployment of knowledge; networks of interested parties); the different approaches were taken; the efficacy of different approaches; and the interface between international and local approaches to heritage protection.
