Abstract:
It analyzes the risks of social adaptation to civil life in Russia — one of the main difficulties of servicemen transferred to the reserve — as well as strategies to overcome them. The urgency of studying this problem by sociologists due to the importance of sociological understanding of specific social adaptation of discharged military personnel and caused by the process problems, because their solution depends not only social and professional well-being of the social group, but also the status of the military in Russian society, the prestige of military service, much lower in the post-Soviet period. Designed for graduate students, researchers interested in the sociology of risk.

Abstract:
Over the last decade there has been a growing interest in sensory science in Italy. This has clearly resulted in an increase in the number of researchers engaged in this sector and the number of companies that exploit sensory evaluations for product innovation and enhancement and in quality control. In Italy, in the sphere of the valorisation of prestige foodstuffs there is an increasing sensitivity towards the adoption of strict methods for describing the sensory properties of the products and ascertaining compliance with defined sensory standards. The Società Italiana di Scienze Sensoriali has played a decisive role in activating and guiding this development. Pursuing this approach, in 2008 the Society organised the 2nd National Convention as an occasion for exchange among professionals working in the field of sensory science.

Il titolo di questo volume richiama quello del libro di Alain Touraine Le monde des femmes, e ne condivide le tesi principali. Si sostiene, infatti, che per cogliere i processi innovativi e di mutamento significativi per la società contemporanea, dobbiamo prestare una rinnovata attenzione alle donne come soggetti sociali, che agiscono in funzione di una "ricomposizione del mondo". Questa tesi viene messa alla prova sul terreno empirico, con i risultati di alcune ricerche condotte nel "distretto" pratese, una società in rapida trasformazione in cui le donne emergono come soggetto centrale del cambiamento – in ambito lavorativo così come in quello culturale e politico – proponendosi come agenti della trasformazione sociale ed economica. Il terreno di ricerca si concentra sul lavoro autonomo e imprenditoriale, sulle libere professioni e, in relazione a queste, prende in considerazione la famiglia, i processi di formazione del capitale sociale, il ricambio generazionale, includendo nell'analisi anche il fenomeno migratorio. La pubblicazione di questo lavoro è stata incoraggiata e sostenuta dall'Associazione Soroptimist International Club di Prato, e in particolare dalla Presidente Anna Edy Pacini Sanesi.

Abstract:
Professional dohori now encompasses the competition circuit, the recording industry, dohori restaurant performance, and tours through Nepal and Nepali communities abroad. Yet different systems of exchange that have governed musical production throughout history still affect how musicians make a living and are perceived in terms of status and honor in Nepali society. This chapter examines the impact of material changes on dohori artists as the genre became professionalized, and how gaining and maintaining honor sometimes conflicts with new ways of making a living as an artist under changing systems of economic and interpersonal values. This allows us to examine what appropriate and honorable artistic personhood means in terms of expression of in songs, and their relations to the intersectional aspects of social personhood that determine honor and prestige.

Abstract:
This chapter examines Article 42 of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations which specifies the professional or commercial activity done by a diplomat. Article 42 states that a diplomatic agent shall not practise for personal profit any professional or commercial activity in the receiving State. The basis of the Article comes from the notion that it would give the sending State assurance that its diplomatic agents abroad would limit their activities to their official duties. It would assist the receiving State by eliminating difficult problems, and would enhance the dignity of the diplomatic corps accredited to its government. Lastly, it would serve to protect diplomatic agents from any suggestion that they might be using the prestige of their office to further their outside interests. In addition, the chapter also describes the relationship between Article 42 and Articles 31.1 (c) which deals with immunity and 34 (d) which tackles taxes on private income.

Abstract:
Why did the Stalin era, a period characterized by bureaucratic control and the reign of Socialist Realism in the arts, witness such an extraordinary upsurge of musical creativity and the prominence of musicians in the cultural elite? This is one of the questions that this book seeks to answer. The book shows how the Union of Soviet Composers established control over the music profession and negotiated the relationship between composers and the Communist Party leadership. Central to the book's argument is the institutional authority and prestige that the musical profession accrued and deployed within Soviet society, enabling musicians to withstand the postwar disciplinary campaigns that were so crippling in other artistic and literary spheres. Most accounts of Soviet musical life focus on famous individuals or the campaign against Shostakovich's ‘Lady Macbeth’ and Zhdanov's postwar attack on musical formalism. This book's approach, while not downplaying these notorious events, shows that the Union was able to develop and direct a musical profession that enjoyed enormous social prestige. The Union's leadership was able to use its expertise to determine the criteria of musical value with a degree of independence. The book reveals the complex and mutable interaction of creative intelligentsia and political elite in a period hitherto characterized as one of totalitarian control.

Why have we organized winter school? We believe everyone should be able to understand how important is Food Environment and Health Risk Assessment in Danube Region. The environment plays a crucial role in people’s physical, mental and social well-being. The degradation of the environment, through air pollution, noise, chemicals, poor quality water and loss of natural areas, combined with lifestyle changes, may be contributing to substantial increases of civilisation diseases. The production and consumption of sufficient, affordable and nutritious food, while conserving the natural resources and ecosystems on which food systems depend, is vital. Food systems play a central role in all societies and are fundamental to ensuring sustainable development. Sustainable food systems are critical to resolving issues of food security, poverty alleviation and adequate nutrition, and they play an important role in building resilience in communities responding to a rapidly changing global environment. 13 students from around the world joined our 2- week Winter School Programme in Slovak republic, Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra, Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Sciences. CASEE Online Winter School was multidisciplinary, encompassing chemistry, environment, microbiology, nutrition, quality assurance, sensory analysis, management, food engineering and manufacturing and also about very actual problematic Covid-19 and its impact on agri-food sector. The Winter School gave our participants an idea of how interesting these topics really are. Online lectures were provided by experts in agri-food sector from Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra, professional lecturers from prestige universities all over the world, state authorities, research institutes and SMEs as well as representatives from CASEE universities.
