Abstract:
The book is the final report of the researches, discussions, conversations around and about the Project PRIN Employability & Competences which took place on March 9th-‐11th, 2017 within an International Conference at the University of Florence. It was the final event of the project PRIN2012LATR9N which aims were: «to design innovative programs for higher education, to promote personalized and learner-centered teaching and learning, to build on job competencies, to value talents to create new work opportunities, to support young adults during their employment emergency, as a response to socio economic crisis and as a citizenship action». The research activities concerned the main phases of the students’ academic life: career guidance upon entry, personalized teaching, career calling, professional vocation, profession building activities such as internships and work related experiences, and lastly job placement.

Abstract:
Business games are an active form of acquiring socio-economic competence. The textbook discusses computer business games, as well as those disciplines that are an integral part of business games: theory and methodology of competence formation; theory of decision-making; theory and methodology of economic thinking formation; theory and methodology of building business games. The last chapter contains developed computer business games that contribute to the formation of socio-economic competence: "Economic foundations of youth vitality", "Development of business plans for youth projects", "Budget planning for a young family", "Economic mechanisms for the development of youth potential". Socio-economic dependencies form the basis of business games, which allows us to consider both real and any research and hypothetical situations designed to develop economic thinking and economic competencies in an interactive mode. Meets the requirements of the latest generation of federal state educational standards for higher education. For students, postgraduates, teachers and specialists of specialized specialties — economists, managers, sociologists, political scientists, social workers, who, among other things, develop and implement projects in the field of state youth policy.

Abstract:
In today's knowledge-driven economy, the ability to share insight and know-how is essential for driving innovation and growth. In this groundbreaking volume, scholars from around the world demonstrate how communication and information technologies are enabling dynamic project design and management practices that challenge traditional concepts of time, space and behavior. Showcasing experiments in architecture, engineering, and construction design—employing technological infrastructures that link people and their ideas across physical, intellectual, and cultural boundaries—the authors consider such issues as the links between competence and innovation and between individual and collective knowledge. At the heart of their analysis is the realization that technological innovation is chiefly a social activity. The implications are profound for the practical management of complex design projects, experiments in distance learning and virtual teams, and emerging theoretical concepts of collaborative learning and innovation.

Abstract:
This chapter tackles the question of whether or not the natural world presents us with a picture empty of purpose or good or evil or concern. No empirical evidence can entirely refute the claim that random fluctuation is the complete truth about the origin of all things, but it follows that this is not a scientific claim. Therefore it is a question of forming a reasonable judgement. It appears that the natural world has a depth and richness that exceeds what would be necessary for thinking brains to come to be realized in it. Also, notwithstanding the pain of the world, it is a project that merits our engagement and commitment, and occasionally the transcendent breaks in. We are not competent to make an overall judgement, but we can join in with the creative process of the world and find our role.

Abstract:
This chapter introduces some of the study’s main concepts. It situates this study within a growing body of comparative international law scholarship and describes how international law should be understood as a transnational legal field, drawing on concepts from sociology. It explains why the study focuses on academics and textbooks, and examines “elite” law schools from the five permanent members of the Security Council, along with what these approaches highlight and obscure. It introduces concepts that are important for the study, including: nationalizing, denationalizing, and westernizing influences; notions of the core, semiperiphery, and periphery; and English as international law’s lingua franca. Finally, it highlights some methodological points and limits, including that the study does not attempt to distinguish between factors that reflect and reinforce different understandings of and approaches to international law and that it largely captures a snapshot in time rather than providing a full historical overview.
