Abstract This book presents some of the improved agricultural technologies that were validated by the Africa RISING Project in East and Southern Africa (ESA), focusing on smallholder farmers in Malawi, Tanzania, and Zambia, and working in partnership with development (scaling) institutions. It consists of 11 chapters. Chapter 1 shows how gender concerns must be woven into all sustainable intensification (SI) interventions to produce equitable outcomes. It describes activities to enhance women's participation, measure the benefits, and transform gender relations. Chapter 2 describes the performance of new cereal and legume crop varieties introduced by Africa RISING into agroecosystems in which they had not been tested before. Chapter 3 presents technologies to diversify the common maize-dominated cropping systems and address human nutrition, improve soil organic matter, and maximize the benefits of applying fertilizer. Chapter 4 presents technologies for replacing the nutrients lost from cropped fields with external fertilizer sources in a manner that minimizes the consequences of too little or too much application. Chapter 5 is about soil conservation. Chapter 6 presents conservation agriculture, which can help smallholder farmers build better resilience to the consequences of climate change and variable weather. Improved technologies for drying, shelling, and hermetic storage of grain are presented in Chapter 7. Chapter 8 provides information to help farmers use outputs from crop production systems to formulate supplementary feed. Chapter 9 follows with technologies that allow well-planned nutrition-specific interventions (recipes) to utilize various livestock and crop products to enhance family nutrition, with specific attention paid to diets for children. Chapter 10 presents examples from the preceding chapters to illustrate the potential impacts of interconnected technologies. Lastly, Chapter 11 presents experiences and lessons learned from using these approaches to transfer and scale the technologies.

This chapter focuses on Juliani's philosophy and program, both of which aim at improving youth lives as generated by youth themselves, especially his Kama Si Sisi Program expressed through his Mtaa Challenge project. Kama Si Sisi is a self-described “one of a kind attitude change campaign” for youth and community empowerment. The Mtaa Challenge is indicative of the campaign's philosophy. It involves a group of young people from different residential areas in Nairobi coming together, working with trainers and coaches to brainstorm ideas, surveying their neighborhoods, and identifying possible projects to undertake. These project ideas are arrived at through a process involving communal discussions and prioritization. To make them more meaningful, the projects are organized as competitions with the best three projects awarded 100,000, 75,000, and 50,000 Kenyan shillings for first-, second-, and third-place winners, respectively.

Involving more than 70 contributors from the United States, Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, and Germany, including indigenous contributors from across North America, the volume’s 35 chapters and more than 7,400 bibliography entries, Volume 1 presents new perspectives on the history of North America’s indigenous societies, issues facing North American indigenous communities in the 21st century, a thorough update of the studies of Native American indigenous peoples, and the first-ever history of the Handbook project. Volume 1 is an innovative collection of new contributions written in 2015–2017 and is organized in five sections that reflect the series’ three-pronged mission: to look forward, to update and assess developments in Native American research, and to account for the history of the Handbook initiative and its legacy. En février 2018, le Conseil de l’Europe publie, plus de 15 ans après le CECR, un Volume complémentaire censé parachever le document de 2001, avec de nouvelles échelles de descripteurs, notamment pour la médiation. Cet ajout tardif ignore toutes les critiques du CECR formulées entre-temps, comme si ce document était la référence indépassable et définitive en didactique des langues-cultures. Les trois premières parties de cet ouvrage CECR : par ici la sortie ! font une critique serrée de ces deux publications au terme de laquelle il apparaît que le projet du CECR et de son volume complémentaire peut être résumé en quelques mots : feindre de traiter d’enseignement-apprentissage-évaluation, mais ne travailler en réalité qu’à promouvoir une forme d’évaluation limitée et commerciale, à savoir la certification. Dans les deux premières parties, la mainmise d’intérêts privés sur le projet européen d’enseignement scolaire des langues est établie, preuves à l’appui, alors que la troisième partie met en lumière le grand nombre des impasses et insuffisances théoriques et pratiques du CECR, en particulier sa dépendance à une méthodologie unique, l’approche communicative. Les deux dernières parties tracent deux voies parallèles de sortie du Cadre, toutes deux dans une perspective résolument pluriméthodologique : une « évaluation intégrée » qui prend en compte l’ensemble des enjeux du processus d’enseignement-apprentissage des langues ; une « méthodologie plurilingue intégrée » qui s’appuie sur le déjà-là en termes de répertoire langagier des apprenants et sur le déjà-construit en termes de savoirs sur les langues et de compétences d’apprentissage des langues. La « sortie » du CECR est désormais ouverte, libre et large!

Prezenta lucrare se adreseaza in egala masura atat elevilor de la profilul uman care studiaza sociologia in liceu, cat si profesorilor care predau aceasta disciplina. Conținutul ghidului respecta cu fidelitate programele de studiu si de bacalaureat, fiind un instrument util in pregatirea elevilor din clasa a XI-a, dar si a celor din clasa a XII-a care opteaza pentru susținerea probei scrise la alegere la disciplina sociologie. Lucrarea este structurata in trei parți. Partea I cuprinde reperele teoretice prevazute de programele de studiu si de bacalaureat, acestea fiind insoțite de un numar generos de exerciții si activitați de invațare recomandate. In partea a II-a se afla rezolvarea integrala a subiectului model de bacalaureat propus pentru anul 2020, precum si 20 de teste de bacalaureat insoțite de indrumari de rezolvare si bareme de evaluare. Partea a III-a este formata dintr-o lista alfabetica de termeni sociologici (un mini-dicționar), care ajuta la completarea reperelor teoretice si la extinderea posibilitații ințelegerii de catre elevi a fenomenelor si proceselor sociale.

Evaluarea psihologica clinica este un proces etapizat, sistematic, extrem de complex, ce se adreseaza atat functiilor psihice cat si personalitatii umane, ce trebuie sa ia in considerare o multitudine de aspecte care adesea nu sunt evidente, nici aparente. Inainte de a primi tratament medicamentos sau prin interventie psihologica, orice client trebuie sa treaca prin aceasta etapa fundamentala - evaluarea psihologica ce poate face ca terapia sa poata fi eficienta si adecvata. Este extrem de important ca evaluarea psihologica ce preceda interventia psihologica sa fie efectuata in baza unor ipoteze clinice, multimodal si corect, asa cum este prezentata in acest volum. Rezultatele evaluarii clinice trebuie, ulterior evaluarii, formulate intr-un limbaj profesionist, de specialitate, comun psihologiei si psihiatriei. Accesul viitorilor psihologi la acest vocabular de specialitate trebuie sa se faca inca de pe bancile facultatii, cunoasterea semnelor si simptomelor bolilor psihice, a principalelor entitati semiologice psihiatrice fiind extrem de importanta. Scopul urmarit de aceasta carte este acela de a oferi un set rezonabil de informatii de specialitate abordate intr-o maniera didactica, fluida, pornind de la principii de baza si continuand cu metode de lucru, cazuri particulare si analiza diverselor cadre in care acestea pot fi puse in practica. Importanta temei abordate deriva din binomul formare informare. Acest volum este deci important din perspectiva formativa pentru ca pune la dispozitia studentilor, masteranzilor in psihologie, psihologilor cu competente in consiliere, psihoterapie, psihologie clinica, dar si a celor cu alte competente, altor lucratori in domeniul sanatatii mintale, un ghid exhaustiv de semiologie a manifestarilor modurilor normale sau anormale in care fiecare proces si functie psihica poate functiona, imbogatite cu exemple din cazuistica proprie a autoarei sau din literatura de specialitate, ce faciliteaza considerabil intelegerea. Valenta informativa vine din adresarea catre categoria larga a altor persoane care sunt interesate de perspectiva psihologiei asupra bolii psihice.

Asa este si cu aceasta carte a mea: este de tip boost sau shake, in zilele tale ploioase, morocanoase sau apatice. Bine, creierul functioneaza continuu in vietile noastre, cu exceptia somnului; deci n-ai avea cand sa te plictisesti pentru o viata apatica. Dar chiar si asa, le avem. E important sa deschizi ochii catre neconventional pentru a-ti largi aria de intelegere a fenomenelor sociale. Nu ai timp sa te pui la punct cu tot ce apare in materie de stiinta; trebuie sa mananci, sa dormi, sa lucrezi, sa cauti sensul, sa te insori sau mariti, sa faci copii, sa le oferi sensul, sa atingeti target-uri s.a.m.d. Uneori, cautati chiar si sa fiti fericiti si incercati sa acumulati materie, devreme ce se presupune ca progresul ne este aliat. In fiecare zi mai apare o provocare, chiar daca nu o vedem sau simtim. Este provocarea neconventionala, antreprenoriala. Exhaustiv de periculoasa sau toxica la prima vedere, dar care ne face cu ochiul. Fara sa ne dam seama, aceasta provocare este invariabil un test pentru limitele noastre. Fiecare neconventie este un proiect, o sansa pentru a ajunge mai rapid la visul si implinirea noastra. E important sa devii „open mind”, daca n-ai reusit intre timp. Altfel sagetezi perspectivele si altfel vei fructifica oportunitatile ivite. Dar e important sa treci peste angoasa existentiala a vietii si reusitei. In fapt, ele ar trebui sa reprezinte balansul perfect pentru atingerea telului. Si atunci, ce e important? Pai, sa le luam pe rand.

In a research project by the SI (Sozialwissenschaftliches Institut), which started in 2018, civil society engagement in the context of the refugee crisis was studied with regard to the motives, world views, attitudes, goals and self-conceptions of the people involved. The project’s findings, in conjunction with the results of the ‘Refugee Surveys’ conducted annually since 2015, were presented at a conference and were commented on from the perspectives of engagement, religion, movement and democracy research. Diante dos crescentes desafios ambientais e sociais, os projetos sustínheis avançaram substancialmente nos últimos anos, ao ponto de as preocupações com a sustentabilidade não serem mais consideradas como uma questão de uma área de conhecimento específica, mas multidisciplinar, multidivisional e multifacetada. A “Economia Circular”, alcunhou-se em diferentes formas e formatos e, à primeira vista, aparece como uma abordagem inovadora. A discussão sobre a circularidade dos recursos de per si faz refletir, lato sensu, sobre questões como: onde estamos na prática? No discurso cotidiano se fala sobre a sustentabilidade? Esta coletânea reúne 12 capítulos que destacam o tema da memória ambiental tendo por base pesquisas antropológicas em contextos urbanos. Nosso desafio é o de propor, em termos teóricos e metodológicos, uma etnografia da duração, inspiração que concebemos a partir da leitura da obra de Gaston Bachelard, aplicada aos estudos das paisagens urbanas. Para consagrar este tema, caro ao projeto Banco de Imagens e Efeitos Visuais vinculado ao Programa de Pós-Graduação em Antropologia Social da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, coordenado pelas organiza-doras, participam deste livro pesquisadores vinculados atualmente ou no passado recente ao BIEV, bem como colegas parceiros da Universidade de Geórgia (EUA), que atuam no Laborató-rio de Mudanças Ambientais. Estes textos inéditos, correspondem ao desafio etnográfico de mer-gulhar nas múltiplas imagens dos/das citadinos/as que contribuem para moldar os pensamentos e as ações do seu ser e estar no mundo, no interior de uma narrativa de si no “Tempo”. Abstract:
Publikácia rozpracováva problematiku bádateľsky orientovaného vyučovania geografie s podporou geopriestorových technológií. Geopriestorové technológie zefektívňujú vyučovací proces v geografii a postupne si nachádzajú svoje miesto predovšetkým v stredoškolskom vzdelávaní. Teoretický rámec podáva čitateľovi poznatky o bádateľsky orientovanom vyučovaní s osobitým zreteľom na bádateľský postup v geografii. Podrobnejšie analyzuje jednotlivé kroky bádania s príkladmi z vyučovania geografie. Podstatnú časť publikácie tvorí jedenásť modelov vyučovacích hodín z geografie, ktoré reprezentujú vzdelávací obsah z fyzickej, humánnej aj regionálnej geografie, rôzne úrovne bádania a využitie rôznych geopriestorových technológií. Čitatelia sa oboznámia s geografickým informačným systémom (konkrétne Google Earth a ArGIS online), webovými portálmi, webGISmi, otvorenými dátami, mobilnými aplikáciami a novými formami 3D kartografickej vizualizácie (virtuálna realita, 3D tlač, dynamická 3D mapa) vo vyučovaní geografie. Modely vyučovacích hodín boli overené so študentmi učiteľstva geografie v školskom roku 2021/2022. Publikácia slúži predovšetkým študentom učiteľstva geografie a učiteľom geografie v praxi.

Esta obra faz parte da pesquisa desenvolvida pelo meu orientando no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação Profissional e Tecnológica (PROFEPT – IFAP). Fazer de maneira correta e produtiva uma pós-graduação stricto sensu exige muito mais que perseverança e coragem. É um exercício quase lúdico de reaprender a olhar ao redor de si e questionar, como fazem tão naturalmente as crianças. É transformar esse questionamento nascido da curiosidade em uma pesquisa com design metodológico correto e efetivo. Aqui apresento a vocês uma parte desta inquietude intelectual, transformada na realidade do conhecimento, pautada metodologicamente em conhecimentos anteriores. Em “Educação Física e EPT” somos levados a pensar sobre a importância deste componente curricular, não só como fonte de um corpo saudável, mas também como formador de seres humanos integrais e omnilaterais, com base em valores e atitudes. O questionamento de como é possível negligenciar qualquer componente e como qualquer componente é importante na formação do sujeito como um todo.

Al ingresar a una comunidad universitaria en el rol de profesores se comienza un proceso de profundización de prácticas disciplinares, racionales y de hiper-especialización de su saber. Con el pasar del tiempo, la mirada de los profes se reduce a reflexión académica; que, si bien es central para la formación docente, no es el único aspecto que hace parte de su práctica. Por tanto, el programa de Profesores Cuidadores surge con el propósito de aportar a la formación humanista e integral docente y ubica su eje de acción en prácticas pedagógicas y socioemocionales. Esta cartilla invita a que como docentes nos reconozcamos en nuestras prácticas, nos comprendamos en un contexto, con pensamientos y sentimientos anclados. Y, a partir de eso, podamos generar procesos reflexivos, observándonos, recordando e imaginando posibilidades de nuestro sentir educativo. ¿Cuántas veces tenemos la posibilidad de interiorizar en nuestras prácticas? Esta cartilla es una de esas posibles respuestas —sin respuesta— que tal vez busquemos en este trayecto.
