Abstract:
Proliferative vitreoretinopathy (PVR) remains the main cause of failure after retinal detachment (RD) surgery. Despite the development of modern technologies and sophisticated techniques for the management of RD, the growth of fibrocellular membranes within the vitreous cavity and on both sides of the retinal surface, as well as intraretinal fibrosis, can compromise surgical outcomes. Since 1983, when the term PVR was coined by the Retina Society, a lot of knowledge has been obtained about the physiopathology and risk factors of PVR, but, despite the proposal of a lot of therapeutic challenges

A proliferatív vitreoretinopathia (PVR) egy kóros állapot, amelyhez számos vitreoretinális kórkép, elsődlegesen a retinaleválás vezet. Az egyre bővülő molekuláris biológiai tudás, az arra épített farmakológiai fejlesztések ellenére jelenleg is elsődlegesen sebészi úton ellátandó betegség, amelynek számos kockázati tényezője van. Komplexitásában nézve a műtéti technika és vizualizáció nagyléptékű fejlődése mellett sem sikerült megszüntetni ezt a látást veszélyeztető kórképet és továbbra is jelentős kihívást jelent a jelenlegi és jövőbeli vitreoretinális sebészek és általános szemészek számára e

Purpose. Evaluation of treatment results retinal detachment complicated by subretinal PVR. Materials and methods. We examined 13 patients (13 eyes) with operated retinal detachment (RD), subretinal proliferative vitreoretinopathy (PVR). In the main group (7 eyes) with recurrence of retinal detachment RD was complicated by severe subretinal proliferation. Аll the patients underwent surgical treatment of retinal detachment with removal of the subretinal PVR; in the control group (6 eyes) subretinal proliferation was localized in the zone of the adjacent retina and its removal was not performed.
