The objectives of this study were to investigate basic and drying properties of three wood species from Indonesia, i.e. kuda (<em>Lannea coromandelica </em>Merr.), waru (<em>Hibiscus tiliaceus </em>L. and mindi besar (<em>Melia dubia </em>Cav.). The basic properties include density, shrinkages, modulus of rupture (MOR), compression parallel to grain (C//), wood strength and anatomical structures. Meanwhile, the drying properties included drying time and drying defects. The initial-final temperature and humidity for each species was based on defects that resulted from high temperature drying tr

The abrasive wear resistance of martensitic overlays is the function of many variables. The hardness is one of the variables. This fact is raised by the possibility of carbidic phases separating from the austenite in the course the overlay layer cooling and by the possibility of the further martensite disintegration and carbidic phases precipitation. The paper is engaged in the hardness and abrasive wear resistance problems of one-layer martensitic overlays.

We correct Schnorr's original, incorrect characterization of Martin-Loef ran dom sequences, compare it with Schnorr s corresponding characterization of his own randomness concept, and give a similar, new characterization of Kurtz random sequences. That is, we show that an infinite sequence is Kurtz random if and only if for every partial, computable, measure-invariant function the sequence is not recursive. 1.) Abstract:
In this investigation, we have characterized tensile and wear behaviour of hybrid metal matrix composites (HMMCs). In this probe Al-7075 assisted with zirconium oxide (ZrO2) and graphite (Gr) in various wt%. The mixture of ZrO2 and Gr powders were combined in various wt%. MMCs were formulated by stir casting process. In this present work we have studied Density, micro hardness, tensile and wear properties. All the testes of the specimens were prepared and tested as per ASTM standards. Microstructural study was carried out with optical microscopy (OM) and SEM study analysed on worn surface of t

<em>The aim of this work was to prepare low-cost and suitable microcrystalline cellulose [MCC] powder from corn husk [CH]. Extraction of microcrystalline cellulose was performed by pulping of husks with different acids [Hydrochloric acid, Sulfuric acid, and Nitric acid], alkali [Sodium Hydroxide] treatment and bleaching. The morphology of the treated microcrystalline cellulose was investigated using scanning electron microscopy [SEM], which showed a compact structure and sharp surface. Fourier transform infrared [FT-IR] spectroscopy indicated that characteristic peaks of all prepared microcrys
