The fields of nuclear and extra-nuclear ADP- ribosylation reactions have been reviewed with a view to clarifying much of the recently published but often conflicting literature. The major reactions reportedly carried out by the nuclear ADPRT have been summarised in the form of two simple diagrams. Bacterial toxins have been shown to modify animal cell proteins in vivo with ADPR. Animal cells also contain endogenous enzymes that can modify proteins. Indirect evidence for the existence in vivo of rat liver proteins modified by ADPR on arginine residues has been reported previously. Presented here is direct evidence for the existence of ADP-ribosylarginine in rat liver proteins. Proteins were subjected to exhaustive protease digestion and ADP-ribosyl amino acids were isolated by boronate chromatography.

Membrane-like structure formed by surfactant molecules of didodecyldimethylammonium bromide (DDAB) on both HOPG and gold electrodes were studied with AFM and SPR techniques. The study shows that the thickness of the adsorbed layer of DDAB is strongly dependent on the concentration of the vesicle solution. We have also investigated the adsorption of redox protein, Cytochrome c, on graphite electrode with in situ tapping mode AFM. The objective of this research was to study the antioxidant activity of soybean protein hydrolysates (SPH) and chickpea protein hydrolysates (CPH) at different concentrations, and to measure the antioxidant activity of fractions collected from the RP-HPLC analysis of SPH and CPH. Protein hydrolysates were prepared by the proteolytic enzyme trypsin. The hydrolysates obtained were subjected to DPPH (1, 1-diphenyl-2 picrylhydrazyl) radical scavenging assay. The SPH and CPH at concentration of 2.5-10 mg/ml showed antioxidant activity of 16.5-32 % and 3.4-26.8 %. SPH and CPH were fractionated by us
