The rare Fissidens jansenii Sérgio & Pursell is reported on plateau de Millevaches, Limousin (France), nearly 1000 km north of the nearest known population. As a result, F. jansenii is known from the Iberian Peninsula and now from western France. An updated distribution map of the species in Europe is provided. The new material is fully described and illustrated and the ecology in France is outlined. Gametophytically, French specimens of F. jansenii do not deviate significantly from Portuguese material and the variability of characters is discussed. In France, on plateau de Millevaches, F.

We aimed to estimate the seroprevalence of Puumala orthohantavirus (PUUV) among forestry workers in northern France, and to explore sociodemographic risk factors. We conducted a random cross-sectional seroprevalence survey among 1777 forestry workers in 2019–2020. The presence of immunoglobulin G against PUUV antigens in serum was assessed using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and confirmed using immunofluorescence assay. Poisson regression models were used to explore factors associated with seropositivity. Weighted seroprevalence was 5% (3–6) in northeastern France, 4% (2–6) in north centra

The aim of the study was to examine the maternal instinct of 422 Limousin cows reared in 4 farms in Bulgaria. It comprised the period from 2020 to 2024. The cows included were from their first to their seventh lactation and had different origin in terms of country of birth - Bulgaria, France, Austria and Luxemburg. The animals were extensively farmed. The calvings were group ones on the pasture during the spring season in March and April. The maternal instinct was analysed by means of evaluation following a score from 1 to 5. The Limousin cows had a maternal instinct display score of 3.29 ± 0.

The Upper Paleolithic in Switzerland is so far only known by the Magdalenian (ca. 18000 12000 BP). Only in seven of the about fifty Magdalenian sites known in Switzerland pieces of portable art were found (Braun, 2019). The most well-known Swiss site where portable art was found is the Kesslerloch. According to Hneisen (1993) Swiss Magdalenian portable art can be divided into two groups: engravings and figurative sculpture. Some of them are decorated either with signs or animal figures. The engravings are mostly on rein-deer antlers, but also on bones, stone and jet. The majority of the engrav
