Abstract:
The effects of factors (branch diameter, number of branches, plantation age number of prunings, working assembly of pruning devices, etc) on the duration of pruning in poplar plantations were investigated. Poplar branches were pruned by mechanized devices Stihl HT 75 and Husqvarna 250 PS. It was concluded that pruning time increases significantly with the number of removed branches in all plantations disregarding the plantation age and spacing. This correlation is represented by a degree function. Also, pruning time increases with the size of average branch diameter removed from the tree. The

One of the most crucial operations in tea cultivation is pruning, in which the branches of the tea bushes are slash down at a predetermined height to reinvigorate the bush and bring it within the pluckers range. Among the pruning operations practiced, Light Pruning (LP) is one of the drastic and vital operations that has significant impact on tea production and quality. Recovery potential of a tea plant after pruning depends on many factors among which time of pruning plays an important role because of the surrounding environmental conditio

Abstract Artificial pruning of trees can improve wood quality as well as enhance timber value. Currently, pruning is quite common when veneer timber or plywood is in demand. Cutting off branches, however, creates open wounds in the form of knots, which are exposed to infections. While the pruning of coniferous trees is well-studied, less research has been conducted on broadleaved trees. The objective of this study was to determine 1) if the artificial pruning of oak can lead to decaying knots, 2) if so, how big is the decaying zone around the unsound knot, and 3) how much time is needed for fu

The reliability and data rate of wireless communication have traditionally been limited by the presence of multipath fading in wireless channels. However, dramatic performance improvements can be obtained by the use of multiple transmit and receive antennas. They also increase data rates by providing multiplexing gain, i.e., the ability to multiplex multiple symbols in one signaling interval. On the other hand, the break with Rome, the effective rejection of the doctrine of Purgatory, and the severe pruning of the cult of the saints represented a clear discontinuity with the past. Different techniques have been developed to reduce such a re-visitation with state pruning showing promise.
