Ti-Al-Nb ternary phase diagrams were calculated by Thermo-Calc software. The analysis of the calculated vertical sections of Ti-Al-Nb phase diagram indicated that when Nb content is fixed at 5at.% and Al content is lower than 52.3at.%, the primary phase would be β phase during solidification. With 10 at.%Nb and Al content lower than 55.8at.%, or with 15 at.%Nb and Al content lower than 56.9at.%, the primary phase would be β phase. The vertical sections of Ti-Al-Nb ternary phase diagram were further simplified into pseudo-Ti-Al binary phase diagram. According to the pseudo-Ti-Al diagram, the ex

Nano-Cordierite powders used for high frequency chip inductors (MLCIs) were prepared by the sol-emulsion-gel method. The samples derived from these powders could be sintered at 900°C to be cordierite ceramics having a low dielectric constant and dielectric loss (ε=3.18, tgδ=0.00011; 1GHz). Effects of precursor concentration, treating temperature, and [H2O]/[Si] ratio of this material were studied. The pseudo-ternary phase diagram of sol/TritonX-100/n-hexanol/cy- clohexane was constructed and the influences of each variable on the phase diagram were discussed. Results showed that the optimal pr

Nonisothermal crystallization kinetics of amorphous chalcogenide Ga–Sb–Te films with compositions along the pseudo-binary tie-lines connecting Sb7Te3−GaSb and Sb2Te3–GaSb of the ternary phase diagram were investigated by means of differential scanning calorimetry. Powder samples were prepared firstly by film deposition using a co-sputtering method; the films were then stripped from the substrate. The activation energy (Ea) and rate factor (Ko) were evaluated from the heating rate dependency of the crystallization temperature using the Kissinger method. New Cu-based bulk amorphous alloys exhibiting a large supercooled liquid region and good mechanical properties were formed in a quaternary Cu-Ni-Zr-Ti systems consisting of only metallic elements. The compositional range for the formation of the amorphous alloys that have high glass forming ability (GFA) (> 3 mm diameter) and large supercooled liquid region (> 50 K) is defined in the pseudo-ternary phase diagram Cu-Ni-(Zr, Ti). Background: Irbesartan is an anti-hypertensive BCS class II drug exhibiting poor aqueous solubility, which makes it highly challenging for delivery through the oral route. Based on this fact, a self-microemulsifying drug delivery system (SMEDDS) was designed and characterized for augmenting the aqueous solubility and dissolution rate of irbesartan. Methods: Several blends of oil (Capmul MCM EP), surfactant (Tween 80) and co-surfactant (PEG 600) were screened from the preliminary solubility and pseudo-ternary phase diagram studies.
