Abstract:
Approximately nine years have passed since the publication of Jung’s Liber Novus [New Book]. This event has dramatically changed the study of Jung’s life and work, setting forth an exceptional number of paths to explore within the history of Jung’s thought. Many of these have not been undertaken yet and call for fresh research. Jung’s inspiring understanding of Dante’s Commedia, embedded within Jung’s in-depth fascination for the Middle Ages in Liber Novus is certainly one of these. This paper represents a rst effort to delineate how Jung’s approach to Dante has been crucial to the elaboration of Liber Novus at historical and hermeneutical levels. Abstract:
Čtvrtá část studie popisuje kvalitativní, kvantitativní a smíšené diagnostické přístupy ke zkoumání eticky náročných situací, i zvláštnosti školních psychologů, kteří se v těchto situacích musí rozhodovat.

Abstract:
Study abroad in psychology promotes knowledge of other cultures, global–mindedness, the re–evaluation of one’s cultural identity, interest in civic engagement, and insight into the univesality or non–universality of psychological phenomena. Heightened recognition of these outcomes has led to increasingly larger numbers of psychology students studying abroad. Still, psychology staff who wish to direct a study abroad programme may find the process of organising and leading such a programme intimidating. They may also need practical strategies for responding efectively to mental health issues that arise while abroad, a charge for which professors of psychology are especially well suited. Additionally, psycholo y staff who advise students seeking study abroad opportunities need to be knowledgeable about the benefits of study abroad, options that exist for their students, and the basics of how to make study abroad administrati ely possible. In this paper we provide theory–, research–, and experience–driven strategies to guide psychology staff through the complex processes of advising students and directing study–abroad programmes.

Abstract:

Abstract:
The article represents the experience of scientometric analysis based on the materials of a Russian journal. The «Siberian Journal of Psychology» was chosen as the object of analysis. The magazine enjoys authority in the psychological community, it is included in the list of State Commission for Academic Degrees and Titles, is referenced in the databases Web of Science and Scopus. The thesaurus method, which is quite widespread in scientometric research in psychology, was used in the work. The whole body of articles published in the journal (1995-2019), including 1237 articles, is analyzed. The article presents the results of statistical analysis: distribution of articles posted in different sections of journals; articles on personalities, psychology as a science (directions, sections, approaches, etc.), various diseases (mental, physical, psychophysiological, etc.), the study of various social groups (normative, professional), the study of age groups (preschool, primary school, adolescent and other age), various concepts and problems. The analysis of publication dynamics in seven most popular sections reflects a living history of changes in the interest and editions of the journal, and researchers themselves to study the problems of clinical psychology, general psychology and personality psychology, social psychology, educational psychology, developmental psycholo-gy, etc. Despite the great variability of the problem field publications, we highlighted the leading sections in the journal, the most significant areas for the journal, approaches and sections of psychological science; social and age groups to which article authors are most interested; concepts, problems, phenomena of psychology, which are the subject of the largest number of articles. The authors of the article believe that over the 25-year history of the «Siberian Journal of Psychology» has acquired not only its own unique face among many other psychological publications, but also has become strongly associated, on the one hand, with a discussion of a very specific field of urgent problems for psychological science. On the other hand, the presence of the leading problems and issues discussed on the pages of the journal is unique and consistent with the high degree of variability of studies presented in the journal. All this allowed the editorial staff of the journal to enter the «Siberian Journal of Psychology» firmly into the recent history of Russian and world psychological science in a relatively short period of its history.

Abstract:
This article explores the roots of feminist and liberation psychologies, positioning examples of contemporary praxis that are deeply informed by today's complex global realities. Examining the consequences of academic and professional women's accompaniment of women `on the margins', that is, those living in `limit situations' deeply affected by global realities of poverty, gender-based violence and structural inequalities, we argue that activist scholars are developing feminist liberationist psycholog(ies) within and beyond the borders of psychology that respond to and incorporate these lived experiences. Through participatory research, pedagogy and community-based workshops, this special issue demonstrates this new praxis. Thus, critical reflexivity and `just enough trust' enable engagement across differences, creating in-between spaces for dialogue, appreciation, and contestation as well as alliances and solidarity — values for a renewed and transformed praxis of psychology with and for those historically marginalized and excluded from our theory and practice.

Abstract:

In this paper, the effects of the media on individuals and the audience are sublimated through some of the most famous media theories, seeking support in the field of media psychology and social psychology. The persuasive impact of the media is described through the agenda setting theory and the theory of the spiral of silence, observing the effects of these theories, from printed to digital media. The paper also emphasizes the influence of the media through the decor and mise-en-scène in the TV studio, through advertising, market consumerism, and the importance of the information avalanche for the persuasive action of the media.

The research was focused on the following opportunities of further development of L. S. Vy-gotsky’s cultural-historical approach: 1) further analysis of symbolic mediation methods of mental activity in socially and culturally stratified modern society and 2) cultural-historical analysis use in research of theories and conceptual apparat of clinical psychology. Drawing on performed research, we argue that psychological knowledge should be analyzed in the context of its cultural-historical formation. The application of cultural-historical analysis in di˙erent levels provides an opportunity to extend the methodology used for empirical research including research of certain clinical case. We’ve developed the integrated cultural-historical approach that combines the ideas of L. S. Vygotsky and M. M. Bakhtin complementing psychology of interiorization with psychology of exteriorization. To develop further, modern cultural-historical psychol-ogy needs to extend the “experience” concept and to integrate the experience of depth psychology, inasmuch as an individual develops within the culture, which means, that development is closely related with language and should be analyzed in the context of language and voice dialogues as fundamental conditions of psychological development. Thereby, mental activity is dialogical in its structure – it does not only evolve in dialogue, but is a dialogue at the root as well. Performed research proves L. S. Vygotsky’s idea that normal and abnormal development goes in accordance with the same rules. Moreover, normal and abnormal phenomena intertwine in the midst of empirical development of an individual. Historically divergent phenomena provided an opportunity for extension of normal consciousness that places developmental psychology and pathopsychology in the global phenomenological and historical context of analysis.

Abstract:
Opposing the widely spread association of psychological approaches to literature with reductionist psychoanalytic interpretations, in this text, we demonstrate that the psychological approach to literature is just one available interdisciplinary method, which has produced some of the most valuable results in Serbian philology. We presented the basic directions, methods, achievements, and shortcomings of different psychological approaches, and outlined the pro- files of the literary scholars who connected these disciplines in a representative manner. We pointed out the diversity of psychological approaches, not only regarding their theo- retical orientation (Freudian psychoanalysis, with its unique extension in Lacan’s work, Jung’s analytical psychology, followed by existentialism and self psychology), but also regarding their results. It was mainly the vast psychological knowledge in the studies of H. Klajn, N. Milošević, Z. Gluščević. M. Šutić, R. Kordić, and O. Žižović that served as the starting point, building a specific perspective that allowed us to analyse the given literary works from its many sides, without neglecting its literary and aesthetic components. We demonstrated that applying Jung’s analytical psychology and the theory of archetypes produced by far the most valuable insights, while overestimating Freud’s psychoanalytic frame of reference emphasized the weak points of the approach. We also identified self psychology as a potentially fruitful but also heavily underutilized method in Serbian philology. As a rule, whenever we treated the psychological approach as an auxiliary means of liter- ary interpretation, it yielded valuable results and we found innovative approaches that deep- ened our understanding of the literary work. On the other hand, when we applied psychology as a key, a solution to the work’s mystery, we ended up with one-sided approaches, that are, in the end, the only approaches to which the frequently and unjustifiably used term “psycholo- gism” can be applied.

Abstract:
This article proposes a discussion about the relations between Psychology and Phenomenology, taking both disciplines, from his formal and conceptual proximity. It begins by defining phenomenology like an epistemology, a method, a philosophy and a science. The article is developed in four points, presented like pro-vocations : a) That all psychology is and must be phenomenological; b) That's phenomenology, in his radical way, it will be - necessarily - an ethics of intersubjectivity and a philosophy of existence; c) That the phenomenological thinking, in Brazil, was built by other ways that the husserlian philosophy, and that causes misunderstandings in discussions about phenomenology in Brazil, and; d) That Husserl may be considered a psychologist. The article pretends to point that the connections between Psychology and Phenomenology are more close than pointed by traditional literature.

Abstract:
The article deals with the problem of teaching psychology students reading professionally oriented English texts. It highlights the importance of the development of reading skills in English speaking class and investigates the component skills that are critical to reading comprehension development when teaching English for specific purposes. In this research we try to analyze main curricular principles proposed by scientists to guide reading instructions which can be successfully used when teaching professionally oriented reading to psychology students. In this article we explore goals for reading instructions and try to translate them into practice in various ways in our ESP classroom. Among the component skills that are critical to reading ESP comprehension development we distinguish word-recognition efficiency, vocabulary building, main-idea comprehension practice, discourse-structure awareness, reading strategies for professional goals, reading fluency, extensive reading and students’ motivations. We pay special attention to reading fluency, extensive reading and psychology students’ reading motivation which are also considered very important component skills for reading comprehension development. We tried to understand how to prepare our psychology students for their reading demands that that they will almost certainly encounter in their professional life.

Abstract:
Academic (sub)disciplines develop in time and place when particular ideas/practices are nurtured within social, gendered, cultural, community, economic and political contexts. Different histories employ different analyses, some with external views of scientific outputs describing research and practice, and others with internal, behind-the-scenes examinations of these developments, through oral histories and personal recollections. This collection, written by historians of (social) science, or practitioners or pioneering participants, uses different historiographical methods to contextualize health-related activities within the sub-discipline of health psychology and the evolving critical and/or community approaches. The papers connect the evolving health psycholog{y/ies} with changing socio-political circumstances in different countries.

Abstract:
Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs) have become ubiquitous in colleges and universities but have failed to consistently improve learning (Machin, 2007). An alternative interface can be provided in the form of a mashed–up personal learning environment (MUPPLE). The aim of this study was to investigate student perceptions of its desirability and utility in comparison to their existing VLE. A psychol gy–oriented MUPPLE was constructed using a free online mash–up platform. A focus group of psychology A–level students was asked to identify likely advantages and disadvantages of the MUPPLE as compared to their existing VLE interface. They identified five potential advantages of the MUPPLE interface; aesthetics, congruence with online apps used outside formal education, user control, utility as an aid to A–level study, and likely utility as an aid to undergraduate study. With regard to utility as an aid to A–level study, the focus group expressed concern that, whilst the MUPPLE interface would be likely to enhance independent study, that this might not in turn advantage A–level students. However, no advantages were attributed to the VLE interface. Sixtyfive psychology A–level students assessed a MUPPLE and a VLE interface against the five criteria identified by the focus group. A within–subjects MANOVA revealed significant preferences for the MUPPLE interface on all five criteria. Implications for psychology education are discussed, and further research is called for.
