Abstract:
Trans men are people who, based on their genitals, were assigned the status of female at birth. However, their identity and their way of living gender do not correspond to the socially established norms. In this paper, we discuss the different perspectives in relation to transgender people and their desire for parenthood. This review, and the basis of this paper, is inspired by the case of a trans man who desired gestation with his own genetic material. He began the cycle of assisted reproduction when he was a legally recognized woman, but that attempt ended with a miscarriage. From that assisted reproduction cycle, four embryos remained frozen. After the failed experience of gestation, the person completed his transition. Now legally a man, he attempted to gestate using his reproductive organs. This literature review aimed to identify relevant studies describing the relationship between transgender person and biological parenthood. This study comprehensively addresses important aspects one should know when considering a transgender pregnancy. These factors include biological, psychological, social, and legal issues. After reviewing the state-of-the-art information on trans parenthood, the main conclusion is that ‘the desire to have a child is not a male or female desire but a human desire’.

Abstract:
Numerous motivational and strong emotional intentions can be found in the background of the desire for a child. Hence unintended childlessness gives rise to a severe psychological burden to both members of the couple. In the literature, several studies are involved in the exploration of this subject, albeit most of them bring into focus the differences of psychological liabilities between the genders. A smaller proportion of these papers examined the psychological aspects affecting couples, and just a very small number of studies investigated the psychological aspects in men. Nevertheless, most of the studies proved that although the psychological aspects in women can be more significant compared to their partner, the psychological burden of infertile men are obviously above the population average. Several different, gender-specific coping-mechanisms have been identified, which tend to be less successful in men compared to women. The acquirement of proper coping mechanisms could be more emphasized during the psychotherapeutic part of reproductive treatment.

Abstract:
While social media is an aspect of life for many, it brings to light the lack of interpersonal connection when browsing activity occurs. The displacement theory suggests that the quality of one’s offline interactions is affected by how much time an individual allots to those exchanges. Depending on the amount of time spent online, interpersonal connections may suffer and lead to negative psychological consequences. Our study aimed to explore the relationship between the desirability of social media and socialization preferences through a cue-based perceptual judgment task where participants ( N = 136) rated 40 gray-scale images in terms of their desirability. The image categories included social media icons, singular scenes depicting an isolated activity, social scenes representing an interactive activity, and traffic signs as the control. We also included questionnaires to assess depressiveness and aspects of social media usage. Our findings suggest that the immediate desire for social media is potentially linked to one’s desire for social isolation as represented by the singular scene category, the intensity of participant’s reported daily usage, and the extent to which social media is perceived to impact real social life. To our knowledge, this is the first report on the initial desirability judgment of social media and its association with other factors. Further research is needed to distinguish the variability in users’ aim of using social media and if that is related to one’s perceived feelings of social connectedness and solitude.

Abstract:
Background: Suicidality is a life-and-death struggle in deep loneliness and psychological pain. There is a lack of knowledge about what could help the suicidal patients’ struggle for continued life. The aim of this study was to develop a deeper understanding of suicidal patients in the aftermath of suicidal attempts. The research question was ‘What resources in the person himself or herself and his or her surroundings are crucial in a suicidal crisis to maintaining the will to live and hope for life’? Methodology: The study has a hermeneutic approach and an explorative design. Data were collected using semi-structured interviews with 10 participants: men and women 21–52 years of age. The context was two emergency psychiatric units and one crisis resolution team. Ethical considerations: The participants signed an informed consent before the interviews were conducted. Findings: This article presents three themes: (a) becoming aware of the desire to live, (b) an experience of connectedness and (c) someone who cares. Discussion: The suicidal person’s awareness of wishes, dreams, hopes and will, but also of their feelings in the aftermath of the suicide attempt, seemed to play a crucial role in a suicidal crisis. Experiences of connectedness remind the person of the responsibility in his or her own life and in the lives of others and seemed to strengthen the urge to go on. Private and professional relationships seem to be crucial in stimulating the desire and hope to go on living. Conclusion: Becoming aware of the desire to live, being connected to others and experiencing someone who cares is necessary for life. Both private and professional networks seemed to be important resources that could remind the suicidal person of his or her own dignity as part of being human.

Abstract:
The article deals with the problem of analyzing trends in the formation of public consciousness and digital culture of students in the system of continuous teacher education. The conclusions are based on the fact that symbolic interactionism (information theory), socio-psychological centrality are based on the level of importance of certain ideas or self-conceit, the degree of interactivity in the implementation of acquired communicative and role models of student behavior. Moderate support for the theories of identity and symbolic interactionism was revealed, since the identity of the "other" was not much in the focus of research analysis. Identification aspects are related to the relationship between concepts, and interactive commitment is related to the psychological centrality of the student's personality, but not to the identification of the "other". Self-esteem is a Central element of the psychological centrality of the individual, if it is important for her. It is shown that identities can be stable and unstable, since they are associated with a person's social environment. Instability is associated with the student's desire to make social, religious, and cultural changes in their own lives, that is, with the desire to master and join new cultural values. The level of a person's self-esteem depends on the identification combination of socio-psychological (external and internal) aspects and conditions of their existence.

Abstract:
The current study uses a qualitative methodology to investigate socio-cultural and psychological aspects involved in the use of LSD and comparable psychedelic substances. To date, 26 narrative interviews have been conducted with 12 female and 14 male users aged 19 to 53 years. The resulting data were subjected to content analysis in several thematic areas. Subjective reports of LSD use and experiences are considered among the complex interrelationship of drug effects, individual and environmental factors, as well as in comparison to the results reported in earlier research. Preliminary results suggest the use of LSD is largely independent of the “party drugs” scene, although its users do embrace elements of alternative lifestyles and subcultures. The majority of participants report their LSD experiences to be of great importance and to have intellectual relevance for their individuation process and personality development. Exploration of the self and the desire to experience profound changes in their perception of the world are reported as primary motives for LSD use, in addition to its hedonistic value. Individual backgrounds, knowledge and patterns of reaction are found to strongly influence the character of the drug effects that are experienced. Next to a wide range of extra-pharmacological factors, various methods for actively modifying LSD induced states were discovered to determine the general character of LSD experiences. These are discussed with regard to their implications for the development of suitable harm reduction concepts.

Samoshchuk, Oksana. "PSYCHOLOGICAL ASPECTS OF SALVADOR DALÍ'S PERSONALITY AND CREATIVE PROCESS." PSYCHOLOGICAL JOURNAL 6, no. 1 (January 30, 2020): 175–86. http://dx.doi.org/10.31108/1.2020.6.1.17.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the study of the psychological aspects of Salvador Dalí’s personality and creative process. Based on the analyzed data taken from cultural and historical conditions of the artist's life, as well as from biographical, autobiographical facts and works of art, the following groups of factors were found that influenced both the psychological characteristics and elements of the artist's creative products. The group of macro factors includes geographical, in particular the tendency to portray the landscape, where the artist lived, as the background image in his paintings; global events (the image of the Civil War was used in the painting "Soft Construction with Boiled Beans: Premonition of Civil War" (1936)). Micro factors include two subcategories: close social environment and personal events. The death of the elder brother had seemingly an intense influence on artist's personality and creativity that led to the development of guilt in the parents who treated Dalí in a special way, as their second and only son. This situation formed a sense of permissiveness and uniqueness that, becoming Dalí’s fixed personality traits, were manifested in art: the widespread use of free associations and a surrealistic approach in paintings. Freud's ideas had an exceptional influence on Salvador Dalí, and led to the development of a unique method in his works of art - a paranoid-critical method that allows mixing real objects in paintings with the fantastic ones. It is worth noting the influence of two strong childhood emotional impressions that have signs of psychological trauma: contemplation of the decomposition process of a hedgehog’s corpse and entomophobia of grasshoppers. These two events formed individual images that the artist often used in his surrealist paintings. Therefore, based on these facts we can talk about the existence of a certain mechanism that transform the image of psychological trauma into a permanent element of creativity. The results of the study showed the presence of the following Dalí’s main personality traits: shyness (especially in childhood and adolescence), narcissistic personality type, alienation and closed nature, ambition and the desire for recognition. Thus, it can be argued that there is a certain mechanism in the creative process that transforms the formed psychological traumas and phobias into stable symbolic elements of creative products. The consistent effect of certain events in a life on personality structure was established and, accordingly, the impact of such events on a choice of a certain style in creativity was revealed.

Abstract:
The psychological aspects of attitudes to marriage in women with different marital status in a transitive society, the main characteristics of which are the dynamism of social processes, diversity of positions, value systems, uncertainty of norms, are presented in the article. The work analyzes the specifics of motivation and marital attitudes, as well as peculiarities of interrelation between current attitudes toward marriage and psychological well-being of the study participants at different ages. The results of the study demonstrate that women retain a basic attitude toward the importance and value of marital relations. Emotional and socio-cultural motivations are dominant for respondents in this sample. The attitude of women to egalitarian relations in marriage confirms the priority of individual desires in marriage and strengthening the position of partner type interaction in modern marriage. The study on the relationship between psychological well-being and attitudes toward marriage confirms the general trend of pragmatic attitudes toward marriage and the desire to postpone the birth of children to a later date. The prospect of motherhood for divorced women at different ages is associated with limited life prospects, inability to control their lives and reduced opportunities for development.

Abstract:
A common cause of disruption of family communication is adultery, which creates a traumatic situation and even leads to family destruction. The purpose of the article is to investigate sexual and psychosocial disorders in family communication under adultery—research methods. The study used validity methods «Eysenck Inventory of Attitudes to Sex» and «Diagnostics of the inferiority complex». Statistical methods. For the non-parametric data correlation variables, the Spearman coefficient was used, Kendall's, Pearson's. Results: The present study found the destructive effect of the psychological characteristics of sexuality on family functioning in CGA. The connection between disappointment with existing sexual relations and desire for sexual satisfaction was established (p <0.05). Conflicts between beliefs and internal impulses were detected (p <0.05). It was found that treating a partner as a sexual object without finding sensual pleasure correlated with intolerance to a verbal description of bed scenes (p <0.05). Sexual shyness is a characteristic of couples with sexual inactivity and aversion to sexual manifestations (p <0.05). In turn, the difficulty of acquiring sexual excitement correlated with a fascination with only physical sex without its spiritual component (p <0.05). Conclusion: Features of the psychological response of men and women in CGA and CG in the genesis and development of impaired family life are connected to the following: a great number of complexes and constant struggle with personal weaknesses, drawbacks, mistakes; fear of analyzing oneself and one's own actions by "hiding" and "postponing" the resolution; inflated self-esteem, self-deception, living in the so-called "imaginary world", low communication (p <0.05).

Abstract:
This essay takes a fresh approach to a traditional Western philosophical account of anger, according to which anger is best defined as a desire for payback, namely, a desire to make an offender pay a price, in the currency of unwanted pain, for the pain he caused someone else. The essay focuses more specifically on the work of Thomas Aquinas, whose account of anger is often thought to center on a desire for ‘just vengeance.’ It analyzes and extends aspects of Aquinas’s account that have previously been treated too narrowly. It distinguishes three forms of anger, each of which has important features in common, which justify characterizing it as anger. Only one of these forms involves a desire to make an offender suffer for what he did. Even as this essay argues for articulating different forms of anger, it emphasizes the fluidity of anger’s forms, features, and relationships to other emotions. It briefly engages philosophical, psychological, and neuroscientific perspectives while working principally in the domain of religious ethics and moral psychology.

Abstract:
Psychoanalytic literary criticism has always had a particular fascination with texts dealing with the supernatural, the mysterious and the monstrous. Unfortunately such criticism, valuable and provocative though the insights it has provided have been, has all too often treated the text as a “symptom” by which to explain or analyse an essentially extratextual factor, such as the author's psychological disposition. Many interpretations of Mary Shelley’s novel Frankenstein provide typical examples of this approach. Much psychoanalytic (and also feminist) criticism and interpretation of the novel have focused on the female psyche “behind” the text, showing how the psychoanalytic dynamics structuring Shelley’s own life have found precipitation in her novel. This article offers an alternative to this type of psychoanalytic reading by interpreting the novel in terms of a framework derived from Lacanian psychoanalysis, focusing on the text itself. This interpretation focuses primarily on the interrelated aspects of language, gender, desire and power as manifested in the novel, with the aim of highlighting some hitherto largely unexplored aspects of the text which may be useful in situating the text within the larger current discourse concerning issues of language and power.

The experimental group consisted of 30 women with teenager daughters diagnosed with idiopathic scoliosis of the 4th degree. The control group included 30 women with teenager daughters with no orthopedic pathology. The questionnaire “Diagnostic of parental relationship” (Varga and Stolin) and the methodology “Teenagers on their parents” (Schafer, Mateychik, and Rzhichan) were used as research methods. Results and discussion. General and specific characteristics of the mother-daughter relationship in families of adolescent girls with idiopathic scoliosis and families of healthy girls were identified. Mothers of girls with idiopathic scoliosis and mothers of girls with o orthopedic disorder demonstrated a pronounced positive attitude to their daughters. Mothers of daughters with idiopathic scoliosis, in contrast to mothers of healthy daughters, were more likely to actively cooperate with their daughters in various aspects of life, including treatment. We investigated the mother-daughter relationship and how to assess this relationship with adolescent girls. Emotionally, non-judgmental acceptance of a daughter with severe idiopathic scoliosis is perceived by the daughter as the mother's desire for an emotionally close and trusting relationship. The attitude of the mother regarding an ill daughter as a failure will be perceived as hostility manifested as strict control by the mother. The mother's attitude to a healthy daughter manifesting as overprotection is perceived by adolescent girls as an authoritarian attitude by the mother. Conclusion: General and specific characteristics of the mother-daughter relationship in families of adolescent girls with idiopathic scoliosis and families of healthy adolescent girls were revealed. In the context of complex surgical treatment, preventive measures are necessary to address psychological difficulties in adolescent patients with idiopathic scoliosis.

Purpose: the study the patients` expectations in the context of satisfaction of their psychological needs related to «health professional – patient» communication. Material and methods. The pilot survey of 58 persons (20 males and 38 females, aged from 21 to 70 years) was performed by the use of dedicated questionnaire regarding the patients` expectations about the «health professional – patient» communication. The questionnaire included 10 statements related to different aspects of «health professional – patient» communication. The respondents were asked to rank the statements (1 through 10) depending the importance of each aspect in total «health professional – patient» communication hierarchy. We used bibliosemantic, comparative and empirical methods for data analysis. Results and discussion. The pilot survey demonstrated that the following aspects of «health professional – patient» communication are equally important for both males and females: feeling of emotional comfort, the active doctor`s position; the doctor`s interest in the patient`s situation, not indifferent attitude and sincere desire to help. Males, as compared to females, were more demanding on the following aspects: the doctor`s readiness for dialogue, the doctor`s ability to listen to patient`s concerns about health status, process and outcomes of treatment; receiving information from the doctor in an accessible manner regarding the key aspects, purpose and prospects of treatment; receiving information from the doctor regarding the prevention of disease occurrence and/or recurrence; a clear, reasoned doctor`s explanation of the need for treatment. We established the difference between males and females in the priority of such aspect, as the doctor`s statements disposed a patient to a positive treatment outcomes. In contrast to males, that aspect was ranked by females as one of the most important points in «health professional – patient» communication. Conclusion. Dialogical, collegial and collaborative interaction models could predominantly interpret the patients` expectations about the «health professional – patient» communication. These models assume shared decision-making, trust in doctor-patient relationship, and receiving all necessary information from the doctor regarding the patient`s health status and treatment process.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to examine several psychological characteristics and life experiences that may be related to aspects of reminiscence activity among elderly individuals. Seventy elderly individuals completed a reminiscence questionnaire assessing 1) the extent to which reminiscence is motivated by a desire to enhance self understanding, 2) reminiscence affect, and 3) the preferred social modality of reminiscence. The respondents also completed questionnaires assessing existential vacuum, extraversion, and the recent experience of various life events. Existential vacuum was positively associated with a tendency to engage in reminiscence in an effort to enhance self understanding as well as a negative bias in reminiscence affect. Extraversion was found to be positively related to a preference for interpersonal reminiscence. Specific life experiences (e.g., death of a spouse, retirement) were also related to reminiscence activity. The present results provide support for the notion that aspects of reminiscence activity are associated with individual differences in specific psychological and situational variables.

The acts of terrorism in the Surabaya bomb case provide a new paradigm of the involvement of family members or an inner circle in their actions. The involvement of family members is considerably related to some psychological aspects. This study aims to provide a psychological analysis of suicide bombing terrors involving family members. The data obtained were analyzed using the perspective of Moghaddam’s theory, ‘staircases to terrorism’. The result indicates that the suicide bomber who has brought their family members in the action has gone through these six stages of psychological aspects: (1) Search for meaning. Actors seeking self and social meaning and finding reasons from the radical ideology adopted; (2) Presenting the ideology. The idea arises to fight those who are considered to do injustice, and the desire to change the system of government and politics is legitimate; (3) Cultivation stage. The process of ideology processing justification for resistance to those who are considered to be doing injustices; (4) Control over members. The stages of correct or wrong assessment based on the fatwa of the leader; (5) Moral engagement. The stage of identity confirmation and the process of polarization of groups of friends and opponents; (6) Recruitment, which is the stage of active involvement in acts of terrorism ranging from planning, targeting, techniques used, time and location of targets to implementing recruitment.

Abstract:
This study examines the interrelations of three different aspects of the subjective age: felt, desired and expected, as well as their relations with the chronological age (CA), health, and psychological well-being variables. Four hundred and twenty-three community-dwelling Croatian adults, aged 60–95 years, participated in the study. All three subjective age measures significantly correlated with the CA. Self-rated health were better predictors of the subjective age compared to the psychological variables. Among psychological variables, successful aging was the only significant predictor of the felt and expected age, while optimism showed to be the only significant predictor of the desired age. Results indicate the importance of some sociodemographic, psychological, and health variables for understanding older persons' subjective age identity and their desires and expectations regarding length of life. Besides the CA, it is very useful to include subjective age measures in research with elderly people.

Abstract The institutionalization of adolescents has been mentioned in the literature with positive and negative aspects. This study investigated 61 adolescents in residential care aiming to evaluate psychological problems and perceptions related to the care, using interviews and the YSR. Data was evaluated using quantitative and qualitative analysis, using gender, age and length of institutionalization as variables. Results indicated clinical scores for psychological problems, except for externalizing problems, in younger girls recently taken into care and older boys institutionalized for longer periods. The perceptions about the care were negative or indifferent; elements of positivity were expressed by adolescents institutionalized for longer periods. Instability in the permanence in the care service and the reasons for having been taken into care were manifested with psychological distress. There were few contacts with the family of origin; the adolescents mentioned the importance of their families and the desire to leave the institution. Members of the institutional teams were indicated as sources of care and protection. This study reflects the challenges for the positive development of this population.

Patients who seek psychotherapy do so with the desire to be assisted in their endeavour to escape and be free of their internal conflicts, psychological pain and the distress which impairs and disturbs their ability to be at peace with themselves and others. Patients who choose group therapy will encounter certain dynamics in the group from the moment of joining, which will provoke the desire to escape from the group and its containing boundaries. The author suggests that, in order to escape successfully from the group - and essentially the neurosis which the patient brings to the group - there is a need to integrate the good enabling/holding aspects of the group with the perceived restrictive/punitive elements. The article uses the met aphor of the group as a castle and makes a comparison with Colditz Castle during the Second World War

Abstract:
AbstractMoral judgments are typically experienced as being categorically authoritative – i.e. as having a prescriptive force that (i) is motivationally gripping independently of both conventional norms and one's pre-existing desires, and (ii) justificationally trumps both conventional norms and one's pre-existing desires. We argue that this key feature is best accommodated by the meta-ethical position we call ‘cognitivist expressivism’, which construes moral judgments as sui generis psychological states whose distinctive phenomenological character includes categorical authoritativeness. Traditional versions of expressivism cannot easily accommodate the justificationally trumping aspect of categorical authoritativeness, because they construe moral judgments as fundamentally desire-like. Moral realism cannot easily accommodate the aspect of inherent motivational grip, because realism construes moral judgments as a species of factual belief.

Abstract:
ABSTRACTThis paper engages the theological anthropologies of Karl Rahner and James Alison in order to develop two mutually clarifying perspectives concerning original sin and the nature of conversion. It begins by considering the value and limitations of Alison's use of the Resurrection, as well as his Girardian reading of history, as lenses through which to understand the self, original sin, and conversion. Rahner's transcendental anthropology, because of its similar assumption regarding the priority of the Resurrection for understanding the self, provides an effective instrument for evaluating Alison's project. I conclude that Rahner's transcendental perspective from within the “order of being” represents a necessary compliment to the Alisonian viewpoint, which remains exclusively within the “order of discovery” and thereby limits rather than enhances persons' capacity to experience grace. I ultimately propose, however, that further investigation of Alison's work and its usefulness for illustrating the psychological, ethical, and socio-political aspects of conversion constitutes a worthy theological task within contemporary Christian culture.

Abstract:
Abstract. The cluster approach is now a credible proven tool for improving the competitiveness of the regional and national economies. For the economy, clusters represent growth points when one or more economic entities reach absolute competitiveness in the market, they affect the immediate environment, resulting in a cluster formation — a community of entities that contribute to each other’s competitiveness. The social and psychological factors, the system of motives and interests of individual members of the cluster in the merger play an important role in the formation of the cluster. Awareness of mutual benefit, interest of participants in cooperation, overcoming stasis of loss of leadership positions, desire to develop together, remaining competitors ensures achievement of resultant synergistic effect of cluster cooperation. Appointment. The purpose of the study is to analyze the socio-psychological features of cluster interaction. Methods. The following methods were used in the study: logical generalization, synthesis, analysis, comparison — to determine the essential characteristics of the concept of «cluster»; analysis and comparison to identify social-psychological biases and prompt participants to cluster interaction. Results. The article analyzes the social-psychological obstacles, prejudices, and cluster interaction preferences that are characteristic of the leader of the cluster-leading company, the manager of the enterprise responsible for cluster specialization, but not the market leader, of the employees of these companies; the head and employees of scientific institutions, authorities, and the public. It has been established that maintaining competition between the cluster participants is a key aspect that causes the greatest number of social and psychological prejudices when establishing cluster interaction. Conclusions. The research showed an awareness of mutually beneficial, participatory interest in cooperation, overcoming the stasis of losing leadership positions, the desire to develop together while remaining competitors ensures the achievement of the resulting synergistic effect of cluster cooperation. Understanding the importance of socio-psychological factors in establishing cluster interaction enables facilitators of such cooperation to not only identify and understand key psychological barriers of individuals, but also to develop tools to motivate the integration of potential entities into the cluster. Abstract:
The article reflects some approaches of methodological and psychological nature to the teaching of philosophy in institutions of both high and general secondary education. The question of the introduction of effective methods of teaching philosophy was examined. It is actually from the point of persuasion of a modern complicated cultural situation in Ukraine and the world. This is equally important for the formation of spiritually developed personality, which is characterized by dialectical, systemic, strategic thought, the desire to create and develop oneself. The analysis of modern distance learning methods and the possibility of their application in the teaching process with the justification of the criterion of maximum usefulness and appropriate practical application, considering the skills required of a highly professional modern specialist. Among the latter, in particular, emphasis is placed on the development of some that are considered key and are a direct subject of reflection in the field of philosophy, such as "critical thinking" and "analytical thinking and innovation." The expediency of using such a type of work as an essay is considered and proposed as the most effective development of these qualities. There is a separate opinion that philosophy can be called with some caution a discipline, the study of which sometimes goes hand in hand with both psychological problems and serious mental illnesses, as well as the mental health of the individual. On the basis of the author's experience of teaching philosophical disciplines, future specialists of the relevant specialty-teachers of secondary education institutions are invited to show the beauty of a harmonious (dialectical) combination of opposites on examples from the field of their profile. Thus, in particular, the beauty of the construction of the oxymoron - philologists, the fight against Aikido - specialists in physical education, "psychological Aikido" - psychologists, so-called techniques. "TOSIP" (theories of solving inventive problems) - students of natural sciences, etc. The conclusions, in particular, state that teaching will thus be able to develop the above-mentioned certain qualities in future teachers of general secondary education, and they, in turn, will be able to develop them in their students.

SummarySex is central to most intimate relationships, and there is inevitably a two-way interaction between sex and intimacy. Sex is a physical, a psychological and an interpersonal event, and treatment of sexual problems should take account of all three aspects. Couple relationship problems that can affect sexual interaction include pervasive hostility, poor communication, lack of trust and disparate levels of sexual desire. Therapists should be able to manage therapy sessions with both partners present, without taking sides, and treating the relationship, rather than either individual, as the ‘client’. They should be able to balance the physical approach to problems with managing relationship issues and the partners' individual psychological problems. Techniques are recommended for understanding and modifying the couple relationship during therapy, as well as for dealing with specific sexual problems using a behavioural systems approach.

Abstract:
Web-surveys are one of the most popular forms of primary data collection used for various researches. However, mass surveys involve some challenges. It is required to consider different platforms and browsers, as well as different data transfer rates using connections in different regions of the country. Ensuring guaranteed data delivery in these conditions should determine the right choice of technologies for implementing web-surveys. The paper describes the solution to transfer a questionnaire to the client side in the form of an archive. This technological solution ensures independence from the data transfer rate and the stability of the communication connection with significant survey filling time. The conducted survey benefited the service of education psychologists under the federal Ministry of Education. School psychologists consciously took part in the survey, realizing the importance of their opinion for organizing and improving their professional activities. The desire to answer open-ended questions in detail created a part of the answers in the dataset, where there were several sentences about different aspects of professional activity. An important challenge of the problem is the Russian language, for which there are not as many tools as for the languages more widespread in the world. The survey involved 20,443 school psychologists from all regions of the Russian Federation, both from urban and rural areas. The answers did not contain spam, runaround answers, and so on as evidenced by the average response time. For the surveys, an authoring development tool DigitalPsyTools.ru was used.

Abstract:
The female sexual response is highly variable and multifaceted and is a result of interplay of physiological, psychological and interpersonal factors. The advent of technology and non-invasive functional brain imaging has provided a map of the regions of the brain involved in sexual arousal and the neurochemistry that underlies the process. However, this increase in the understanding of the biological basis of female sexuality has only reinforced the role of interpersonal and cultural factor in the sexual response, specially the genesis of sexual desire. An acceptance of this by professionals, has led to the consensus for a more holistic biopsychosocial approach for the management of female sexual concerns. The presentation will discuss the current research on the neural and hormonal basis for female desire and explore the role of sexual desire as a motivator and a force for sexual activity in the context of the prevailing models of the female sexual response. There is a need for the recognition of the place and value of sexual desire in the female sexual response and an appreciation that whereas there is a biological 'drive', this is tempered by the motivational aspect (individual and relationship psychology) and the cultural and moral overlay of values and attitudes. This will in turn provide the milieu for understanding normal and dysfunctional sexual desire and assist us on the road to discovering a best practice model for the diagnosis and management of 'female desire disorders'.

It has been diagnosed that the general level of modern youth’s ability to make own life choice is at a low level. During making important decisions, students have shown low ability to manifest independence in the process of self-determination, to resist the influence of others on this process. Due to the weakness of established life-based values, adolescents find it difficult to figure out optimal ways of their capabilities’ realization. Young people have demonstrated sufficient ability to analyze properly all aspects of the situation during making life decisions. Abstract:
This paper aims to discuss psychological aspect of rational choice theory. The standard version of rational choice rests on a kind of psychology, since it operates with mental states. In standard davidsonian version it is claimed that we explain rational actions by stating proper desires and beliefs that caused the action. We will explore two challenges to the standard version that might be called cultural and naturalistic versions of rational choice. Satz and Ferejohn (1994) challenged standard version by stating that we can provide rational-choice explanations without relying too much on psychological assumptions. They argued in favor of moderate externalism, which should replace thin desire-belief model with thick structuralist conception. According to their model moderate externalism is compatible with realism about psychological states, while at the same time those states need not figure in the best rational choice explanations of actions. The focus of rational choice explanations therefore shifts to non-individual and non-psychological entities, such as firms in explaining economic behavior, parties in explaining functioning of democracy, etc. Although there is a place for psychological states within a moderate externalism, those states are not causally relevant. On Pettit?s account desires and beliefs figure in rational choice explanations merely as ?standby causes?. They explain resilience of certain behavior, not its actual cause. Quite contrary to standard rational choice theory, the programming model (Pettit, 2002) defines the neurophysiological level as more basic in explaining behavior. This means that higher-level psychological states are causally relevant for certain behavior only if certain lower-level neurophysiological producer obtains. In this paper standard rational choice theory will be defended against culturalist and naturalist criticism.

Abstract:
The relationship between cancer patients’ desire for information and their preference for participation in decision making has been examined. Approximately 77% of the 52 patients reported that they had participated in decision making to the extent that they wished, while most of the remaining 23% would have preferred an opportunity to have greater input. Although many of the patients actively sought information, a majority preferred the physician to assume the role of the primary decision maker. Ethically, the disclosure of information has been assumed to be necessary for autonomous decision making. Nevertheless, the results of this study indicate that patients may actively seek information to satisfy an as yet unidentified aspect of psychological autonomy that does not necessarily include participation in decision making.

The emergence of psycho-literature study is in line with the relation between psychology and literature. Psychoanalysis theory used in this study was the theory of Sigmund Freud to examine the character of Yusuf. This theory distinguished three kinds of personality; they are id, ego, and superego. This research investigated Yusuf’s behavior in the context of citizenship. The story of Yusuf is determined as the best story from the aspect of its styles, contents, and objectives. This story was begun with the dream of Yusuf, sunk into the well, sold to Egyptian merchant, flirted by the wife of his merchant, found by his family, and the lessons of his story. In its relation to Islam, superego in the theory of Freud should be aimed to Islamic values. The principle of tauhid should always be in mind, so when bed desire comes to a moslem, then that principle will be the savior. Psycho-literature interdisciplinary study uncovers psychological aspects of Yusuf to take the lessons for the society.

Abstract:
The authors analyze the use of the psychological aspects of criminalistic tactics in the work of law enforcement employees. The authors identify the causes of their low effectiveness: the insufficient knowledge of investigation authorities’ employees, a psychological attitude and professional deformation. Insufficient knowledge about the use of tactic-psychological aspects of criminalistic tactics is, in its turn, caused by a number of factors. Primarily, they are professional qualities of investigators and detectives: gaps in primary training, lack of enthusiasm for professional development, mental stereotypes. An important factor is the lack of time to study extra material on criminalistics. Some factors are connected with the theory of criminalistics itself. They include the difficulty of searching for recommendations in publications, the generalized character of such recommendations and the difficulty of understanding them. Psychological attitude predetermines both the success and the low effectiveness of using the tactic-psychological techniques during some investigative actions. Negative psychological attitudes that hinder the effective use of psychological aspects in the work of the investigation bodies’ employees include: orientation on prosecution, orientation on the formal character of work, orientation on the non-achievement of the desired result. Their essence is described and the specific characteristics of their negative impact are analyzed. The negative impact that the orientation on prosecution has on the use of the psychological aspects of the investigation bodies’ employees is manifested through the initial confidence of the investigator or detective that the prosecuted person is guilty which, in its turn, makes the objective investigation of the circumstances of the case unnecessary. Orientation on the formal character of work and orientation on the non-achievement of the desired result destroy the tactic-psychological potential of the investigative actions. Professional deformation intensifies negative orientations, establishes a model of rough communication with other people, normalizes unethical and even illegal actions of an investigator or a detective. The analysis of these causes makes it possible to overcome their negative impact on the work of investigators and detectives by developing revised and specified criminalistic recommendations.

Abstract:
Introduction: The effects of breast cancer and mastectomy on sexuality, an important aspect of personality, emphasize the need for psychological treatments. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) on sexual desire in breast cancer patients after mastectomy. Methods: This was a semiexperimental study with an experimental and a control group with a pretest-posttest design. The statistical population included all women with breast cancer in the Isfahan province who had come to Alla charity center in 2017. A sample of 26 women with breast cancer was selected through available sampling and assigned randomly to two groups of 13 subjects each. The experimental group received ACT over 8 sessions and the control group remained on the waiting list until the end of the study. The measurement tool was the Hurlbert Index of Sexual Desire administered before and after the intervention. Data were analyzed with SPSS 16 using an analysis of covariance test. Results: There was a significant difference in the mean scores on sexual desire between the two groups (F = 7.99, p = 0.014). The mean score on sexual desire improved from 0.85 to 1.23 in the treatment group, but there was no change in the control group (1.17 in the pretest vs 1.16 in the posttest). In general, ACT was effective in improving sexual desire in patients (p < 0.05, effect size: 0.48). Conclusion: In general, according to the findings of this research, ACT seems to be effective in improving psychological problems in women with breast cancer.

Abstract:
Background: Preparedness regarding prognosis and treatment options enables patients to cope with uncertainties, make value-based treatment decisions, and set treatment goals. Yet, little is known about the expectedness of end-stage kidney disease (ESKD) patients’ treatment experiences beyond their desire for better treatment education. Objective: To describe unexpected adverse treatment experiences among ESKD patients. Method: The authors conducted 7 focus groups with 55 dialysis patients and living-donor kidney transplantation recipients receiving medical care in Baltimore, Maryland. Data were analyzed thematically. Themes present in different treatment groups were highlighted to provide insight into common experiences. Results: The authors identified 5 themes: (1) psychological reactions, (2) constrained freedom of choice, (3) treatment delivery and logistics, (4) morbidity, and (5) finances. Conclusion: Patients were unprepared for nonclinical, logistical, and clinical aspects of ESKD treatment. The need for providers’ use of tailored preparatory techniques and the development of pretreatment interventions to help patients know what to expect from and feel psychologically prepared for treatment, particularly with respect to nonclinical implications, is critical. These efforts have great potential to improve patients’ treatment experiences.

Abstract:
ABSTRACTThe use of four types of psychological state words (physiological, emotional, desire, and cognitive) during mother–child play sessions at ages 3, 4, and 5 years was examined in 30 children diagnosed with delayed expressive language at 24–31 months and 15 age-matched comparison children with typical development. The children's mean length of utterance, total words uttered, lexical diversity, and use of propositional complements were assessed. The late talkers used significantly more physiological state words at ages 3 and 4, but the two groups did not differ in their use of physiological state terms at age 5. The late talkers used significantly fewer cognitive words than the comparison children at each age. The mothers of the late talkers made significantly fewer references to cognitive states than the mothers of the comparison children at each age. The delay in the emergence of cognitive state words in the preschool years may affect other aspects of late talkers’ cognitive and social development.

Abstract:

The meaning of eating is often reduced to concern objects or properties. Food is quite often understood as merely nutritive materials to fulfill the biological needs in order to survive or to satisfy human psychological desire. From this perspective, eating is tragically seen as killing for living. Eating thus becomes a consumptive and exploitative action. Nevertheless, eating can be a more productive act if food is not only construed as object or property, but as human strategy or means to construct relationships in social life. Inspired by Foucault, this paper shows that the meaning of food ought to be extended from the nutritive intrinsic aspects toward the political or cultural aspects; that is, food as a means to construct subject. In a sense, food governs or normalizes people in their social life. Therefore, food and eating give rise to knowledge, value order, behavioral patterns, lifestyles, or beliefs: they become the creative and transformative energy of the civilization.

Abstract:
The premise for the present study lies in the lack of a unanimous scientific opinion on the relationship between self-knowledge and psychological well-being. The article presents the results of a study of the factors of psychological well-being of adolescents associated with their self-knowledge. The relevance of the conducted study is due to the need to integrate scientific knowledge on the internal factors contributing to psychological well-being. The scientific novelty is shaped by the fact that adolescents’ self-knowledge in the context of their psychological well-being is understudied and is examined for the first time. The study includes 500 adolescents aged 13-17 years old from schools in Tula, Lipetsk, and Moscow regions. The conducted factor analysis reveals common and specific factors of psychological well-being that are significant for adolescents with varying levels of psychological well-being. The common factors found in the entire sample are the desire for self-reflective analysis, for successful communication, for physical harmony, and for a meaningful perception of one’s future. The specific factors relevant for each group – adolescents with high, average, and low levels of psychological well-being – are also identified. The results of the analysis allow concluding that the psychological well-being of adolescents at different levels of psychological well-being is determined by factors related to self-knowledge. The presented work is of interest for researchers concerned with the problems of adolescents’ psychological well-being, as well as in designing educational programs and projects aimed at improving the psychological well-being of adolescents.

Abstract:
Objectives: Increases in breast size with age are common but have not been widely examined as a factor that could affect the health and psychological wellbeing of mature-aged women. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships between breast size and aspects of health and psychological wellbeing in mature-aged women. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study of mature-aged women (⩾40 years). Breast size (breast size score) was determined from self-reported bra size and was examined against health-related quality of life (Medical Outcomes Study Short-Form 36 and BREAST-Q), body satisfaction (numerical rating scale), breast satisfaction (BREAST-Q), physical activity levels (Human Activity Profile), the presence of upper back pain and breast and bra fit perceptions. Results: Two hundred sixty-nine women (40–85 years) with bra band sizes ranging from 8 to 26 and bra cup sizes from A to HH participated. The mean (standard deviation) breast size score of 7.7 (2.7) was equivalent to a bra size of 14DD. Increasing breast size was associated with significantly lower breast-related physical wellbeing ( p < 0.001, R2 = 0.043) and lower ratings of body ( p = 0.002, R2 = 0.024) and breast satisfaction ( p < 0.001, R2 = 0.065). Women with larger breasts were more likely to be embarrassed by their breasts (odds ratio: 1.49, 95% confidence interval: 1.31 to 1.70); more likely to desire a change in their breasts (odds ratio: 1.55, 95% confidence interval: 1.37 to 1.75) and less likely to be satisfied with their bra fit (odds ratio: 0.84, 95% confidence interval: 0.76 to 0.92). Breast size in addition to age contributed to explaining upper back pain. For each one-size increase in breast size score, women were 13% more likely to report the presence of upper back pain. Conclusion: Larger breast sizes have a small but significant negative relationship with breast-related physical wellbeing, body and breast satisfaction. Larger breasts are associated with a greater likelihood of upper back pain. Clinicians considering ways to improve the health and psychological wellbeing of mature-aged women should be aware of these relationships.

Abstract:
This article reviews psychosocial and biological aspects of the effects of menopause on sexuality. Sexuality is conceptualized as having multiple dimensions including desire, arousal, and orgasm. Population studies have revealed that postmenopausal status is associated with decline in these components of sexual functioning. While it is probable that psychological response to menopause affects sexual functioning, little research has addressed this issue. Considerable research has addressed the possible relationship between sexuality and menopausal hormone changes. Some research shows that low estrogen levels are associated with diminished sexual response and that estrogen replacement produces enhanced sexual response. Other studies, however, do not show this. Testosterone level is more clearly related to at least some measures of sexuality. Issues for future research are discussed.
