Abstract:

There is an inconsistency between the spreading practice of graphology as a selection tool and the insufficient research support for the technique. The present paper identifies some major concerns about the current status of available knowledge on the employment of handwriting analysis for personnel selection. Drawing on the extensive psychological literature about personnel selection, personnel evaluation, and attribution processes, variables that may moderate the reliability and validity of script assessments are suggested. Four categories of such variables are identified: attributes of the writer, attributes of the graphologist, attributes of the job, and the organizational context. Conceptual and empirical methods for improving the psychometric properties of graphological assessments are suggested. And, the relationship of general problems in personnel-selection research to the use of graphology for personnel selection is discussed. The intent is to propose a research framework that will allow psychologists and managers to make valid judgments about the benefits, as well as limitations, of employing graphology in making personnel recommendations.

Abstract:

Background: Stress is a part of the academic life of graduates. Young adults are especially susceptible to academic stress based on their subjective commitment towards academic goals, and social pressure for superior academic performance. Recognizing academic stress is crucial for planning successful management, and to prevent mental illness. The aim of the study was to develop methods to identify stress using graphology, machine learning algorithm and salivary cortisol.Methods: The study included a mixed method research design and enrolled 43 medical students (19 males and 24 females) between 18-23 years of age were taken in the present study. The Kessler psychological distress scale (K10) was used to ascertain distress among the study subjects.Results: Students written manuscript images were taken for artificial intelligence training and analysis. The written manuscript was evaluated for positive and negative personality traits using graphology techniques. One of the negative traits identified by graphology, i.e.; dejection, it was used to train a machine learning tool to identify the negative trait of dejection.Conclusions: This study suggests that mental health professionals can train machine learning algorithms, using graphology tools, to function as a screening tool to determine stress levels. This may help to plan for management and recovery of stressed individuals and help them in future academic performance.

Abstract:

Derrida's work encompasses dynamic spatial dimensions to understanding as a pervasive theme, including the search for a ‘new psychoanalytic graphology’ in Writing and Difference. This preoccupation with a spatial text for repression also occurs later in Archive Fever. Building on Derrida, this paper seeks to develop key aspects of a new dynamic psychoanalytic graphology through diametric and concentric interactive spatial relation. These spatial movements emerge from a radical reconstruction of a neglected aspect of structural anthropologist Lévi-Strauss’ work on spatial relations prior to myth. This psychoanalytic graphology is argued to silently pervade Freud's own direct accounts of repression. This graphological domain is developed through diametric and concentric spatial movements across common concerns of Derrida and Freud such as inversions, interruption and restoration, regarding traces in the unconscious. A spatial text is uncovered for diverse features of Freudian repression, including ambivalence in obsessional neurosis and psychosis, splitting of the ego and repetition compulsion. This psychoanalytic graphology challenges the construction of a restricted subjectivity based on repressive diametric spatial relations. It goes beyond Freud's logocentric repression, resonant with Derrida's more radical call for a wider spatio-temporal understanding of structures of differential relation, prior to causality and myth.

Abstract:

This research was conducted with the aim of developing previous studies that have successfully applied the science of graphology to analyze digital handwriting and characteristics of his personality through shape based feature extraction, which in the present study will be applied one method of psychological tests commonly used by psychologists to recognize human’s personality that is Enneagram. The Enneagram method in principle will classify the personality traits of a person into nine types through a series of questions, which then calculated the amount of the overall weight of the answer. Thickness is what will provide direction personality type, which will then be matched with the personality type of the result of the graphology analysis of the handwriting. Personality type of handwritten analysis results is processed based on the personality traits that are the result of the identification of a combination of four dominant form of handwriting through the software output of previous studies, that Slant (tilt writing), Size (font size), Baseline, and Breaks (respite each word). From the results of this research can be found there is a correlation between personality analysis based on the psychology science to the graphology science, which results matching personality types by 81.6% of 49 respondents data who successfully tested.

Abstract:

It is important that a company uses the right means to recruit employees with certain personal characteristics as needed. Nowadays, the techniques to respond to psychological tests on peopleâ€™s characteristics have been widely understood by most job applicants, so that it is difficult to know their true personality. Graphology is a way to identify a personâ€™s characteristics by analyzing the handwriting from the document text made by the applicant. The two types of text document of each applicant are obtained from people of different ages and different writing times. The methods of graphology used in this research for identifying the handwriting are preprocessing and feature extraction. The preprocessing method uses projection integrals, shear transformations, and template matching. While the feature extraction process applies 10 features, they are, margins, line spacing, space between words, size of writing, style, zone, direction of writing, slope of writing, width of writing and shape of the letter. The result of the experiment from five writers shows the accuracy of writing identification equals to 82%, while personality identification equals to 67,4%.

Abstract:

In the present article deals with one of the methods of professional psychological selection, which is able to systematically provide quality ongoing psychophysiological research using polygraphs. Drawing on a polygraph test procedure psychographic analysis of handwriting, the author demonstrates the improvement of the quality of psychophysiological research using polygraphs. This article contains an interesting empirical material, which illustrates the effectiveness of the use of graphology as part of an integrated approach to the analysis of the reliability of the information provided as part of a polygraph test.

Abstract:

The article exposes the identity of the destructive psychological influence on the personality and offers directions and methods of information-psychological counteraction. One of the areas of psychological practice is being studied - counteraction to informational psychological influence. The most effective methods and practices of counteracting negative information-psychological influence are highlighted. The specific features of counteracting the destructive information-psychological influence, the features of timely psychodiagnostics and the development of effective countermeasures are described. The relevance of the study of this area of psychological work is imposed by the need on the one hand in assessing the quality of psychological protection of employees of internal affairs bodies, and on the other, in searching and stimulating intraorganizational and intrapersonal psychological resources, which necessitates the development of theoretical, methodological and conceptual approaches to the implementation of approaches to protect personnel from negative psychological information influence. The authors consider the destructive informational and psychological influence as one of the most serious problems of modern society, which threatens the psychological safety of not only employees of the internal affairs bodies, but also citizens, entails significant losses, and has a strong psychological effect.

The role of the human factor of a translator is revealed, and the bonds between the type of translation and the characteristics of the person who does it is established For this purpose, a psycholinguistic experiment was carried out with the participation of 50 people to demonstrate the dependence of the psychological characteristics of the translator and the quality of the translated text using comparative analysis of translation. Abstract:

The result of labour is not only the birth of a child but also the formation of a mother, woman who has got to know motherhood. Moreover there is a radical change in the social status of the couple as a whole. It turns into a mother and father. The consequence of this is a change in attitude towards yourself and others, that is, the transformation of the personality. This explains why during pregnancy and delivery the risk of family problems worsening rises sharply and somatic and neuropsychic disorders emerge. The aim of the work is to describe and systematically outline the main psychological and psychiatric aspects of the postnatal period in the life of a woman and a child. Changes occur in the life of a woman, and the possible to diagnose the manifestations of disharmonious development in a timely manner, to prevent and help to solve them constructively. AbstractThe science of infertility has advanced rapidly over the past decade, in many respects without regard to the enormous demands that are placed on all participants undergoing an infertility work-up and treatment. Among these demands are a variety of potential psychological effects that must be addressed in the initial patient visit with continued counseling throughout the infertility work-up process. This article reviews the psychological factors that may affect individual patients and couples experiencing infertility, with special attention given to the common manifestations of stress. The need for physicians to provide early and ongoing attention to emotions is emphasized, and a biopsychosocial approach to infertility evaluations is outlined.

Abstract:

Sixty women aged between 30 and 55 years, having hysterectomy for benign conditions, were prospectively studied to investigate psychological adjustment to operation, and to explore social, psychological and physical factors associated with psychological outcome. A further 30 women were included for prospective research on psychological outcome. Investigations took place within two weeks of operation and after four months and 14 months. The findings indicated a high prevalence of pre-operative psychological morbidity (55%), which reduced to 31.7% afterwards. There was no evidence that hysterectomy led to a greater psychological distress. The principal risk factors of poor psychological outcome were the previous scores on the mental health measures and personality inventory. Involvement in the research process did not appear to affect psychological outcome.
