Abstract:
Introduction. The paper focuses on language means exploited by social engineers in their activities in terms of humanitarian aspects of cybersecurity. The goal of this research is to analyze the methods and techniques employed by social engineers in their malicious activity and its features from a psycholinguistic point of view for further development of counteraction mechanisms. Methods. To obtain results we used the following methods: primary source analysis, analysis of spoken and written speech and speech products, and intent analysis. Results. The activity theory has been successfully applied to consider the key features of social engineers’ work. On the base of AT we presented a three-component model which we may consider only in the case of a social engineer’s successful attack (action). Based on the analysis of the sources, we distinguished the types of spoken and written communication actions (these types correspond to direct and indirect actions), used by social engineers to affect the cognitive processes for retrieving “sensitive data” and confidential information. Besides, we also categorized psychological and language means, which social engineers evidently apply in their activities. We stress that in most cases social engineers’ activities are aimed at a) affecting the person’s emotions and feelings; b) blocking rational and critical thinking; c) manipulating moral and ethic values, and d) using positive incentives that have an interest to a user. Taking into account the abovementioned types of communication, psychological and language means, we systematized and described the general techniques of using oral and written forms of language and technologies: 1) techniques related to the use of spoken speech; 2) techniques related to the use of written speech; 3) techniques related to the use of USB flash drives, applications, and program software. The findings are applicable for developing a mechanism to counter social engineers’ attacks and contribute to improving the level of cyber literacy.

Abstract:
The Internet has become a commonly used medium through which persons obtain information on health. Women use the Internet more often to obtain health-related information, and their tendency towards searching the Internet for information increases during pregnancy, which is a very important period in their lives. This review article presents findings on the phenomenon of searching the Internet for health-related information in pregnant women. It includes a detailed description of facilitating and inhibiting factors due to which pregnant women engage in Internet searches on health, as well as processes within the healthcare system that lead to such searches. We describe the most commonly used internet sources for health-related information and the most common search topics in pregnant women. Various aspects of the reliability of the information intended for pregnant women that can be found on the Internet are described, as well as factors that they take into account when evaluating the accuracy and the relevance of the information. We also present a concise overview of the demographic, obstetric, and psychological characteristics of pregnant women due to which they are more prone to web searches on information related to health. The psychological characteristics described herein comprise health literacy, self-efficacy, health-related locus of control, health-related anxiety, and pregnancy-specific anxiety. We explain the effects and consequences of Internet searches on the functioning and wellbeing of pregnant women, with an emphasis on compulsive web searches and intensification of anxiety after searching. Finally, we describe the importance of research in this area given the numerous practical applications.

Abstract:
The article reviews the experience of people arranging studies involving information and communication technologies into the University of the Third Age studies organization. Life expectancy is longer and the birth rate is lower in proportion to older age people; due to these facts, the ageing is even more noticeable. This situation requires certain measures, which would be effective in the future. Non-formal education institutions, including University of the Third Age, react to the changes and offer trainings which help older people to maintain working-capacity, physical, social and psychological health. In order to provide greater benefits, it is important to pay attention not only to the students of the Third Age but to the needs and changes of society on the whole. It is obvious that in the twenty-first century life is hardly imaginable without information-communication technologies (ICT), which are not only rapidly growing and modifying but are also integrating and changing each and every one aspects of people`s lives, regardless of their age. Therefore, it is extremely important that elder persons have at least minimal of computer literacy and ICT skills in order to conform to modern society standards.

Ragam interpretasi yang dapat diterapkan terhadap dokumen tertulis di antaranya interpretasi verbal, interpretasi teknis, interpretasi logis, interpretasi psikologis, dan interpretasi faktual. ABSTRACTManuscript is a relic of the past that is generated through traditional literacy. Therefore, the manuscript tradition emerges together with other aspects of life related to traditions of literacy. For example, technology accompanies the activities of reading and writing, materials and stationery, literacy, development of intellectual, and consciousness to record or document everything that is considered important at the time. As a social document, a manuscript stores past information covering various aspects of life, including religious, linguistics, philosophy, mystics, moral teachings, laws or regulations, genealogy of kings, architecture, medicine, astronomy, literature, and history. Technology is developing very rapidly so that it can simplify human work, both science, information, games, buying and selling, and so on on the internet. Apart from having an impact on the fast and easy access to information, it also has an impact on health, social, intelligence, psychological, financial and other aspects. It is excessive if it is overused to make it addictive. Such as addiction to online games, TikTok, and youtube which results in dependence and underestimates health and time. This research uses literacy studies. The purpose of this study is to present findings of the impact of gadget use on children. The results show that technological advances have both positive and negative impacts. There are various kinds of game applications that are easily accessed by children, both game content and those that can stimulate children's development, such as creativity, memory, physical motor, cognitive and so on. So it is necessary to take preventive steps so that technological developments can also reduce the negative impact on children's development.

Abstract:
Introduction. Up to date, the situation in the Ukrainian media space has not changed dramatically from the Soviet Period. This gives wide possibilities for variations to manipulate the minds of the audience, a large part of which is made up of people of 55 years of age who are accustomed to reading and trusting the press. Accordingly, the study of the relationship between the audience’s trust in the journalistic publication and the manner of presenting news of the specified category of the population will enable to form ways of introducing media literacy for different categories of society, which is relevant today. Significance and purpose. In our study, we analyze the reactions of this audience as it is the part of the active population that in one way or another influences the formation of conscious perception of the surrounding reality of modern youth. The purpose of the study is to research the relationship between the stylistic marking of the text and the audience’s confidence in the information presented in the publication (based on the analysis of regional periodicals 1943-1960). Research methods. During the study such methods as surveys (oral and online surveys) were used to examine the audience’s response to texts of different styles, content analysis, which analyzed the frequency of use of satirical-humorous genres, stylistically labeled vocabulary and religious imagery for criticism/condemnation of those people or phenomena that did not fit into the criteria of the USSR; genre, stylistic and semantic analysis. Results. The analysis of the period 1943-1960 showed that in the newspaper “low” style was used to ridicule those who did not fit into the Soviet system of vision of the state and citizens in the state. As a result, a population of 55+ (experimentally confirmed) formed a well-founded distrust of information presented in a satirical form. This makes it possible to predict the effectiveness and efficiency of journalistic materials. Conclusion. Selected publications analyzed that the Soviet print periodicals clearly distinguished the manner of presenting information about the so-called «positive» and «negative» heroes. At the same time, the survey revealed a tendency of public confidence in the information that does not contain stylistically marked vocabulary. Accordingly, we can say that stylistic marking of the text is one of the methods of manipulation of public opinion. Prospective for further research. Studying the peculiarities of the perception of newspaper texts by different categories of the population is a prospect for further research. Abstract:
The relationship between a subject’s ideological persuasion with the belief and spread of fake news is the object of our study. Departing from a left- vs. right-wing framework, a questionnaire sought to position subjects on this political-ideological spectrum and demanded them to evaluate five pro-left and pro-right fake and real news, totaling 20 informational products. The results show the belief and dissemination of (fake) news are related to the political ideology of the participants, with right-wing subjects exhibiting a greater tendency to accept fake news, regardless of whether it is pro-left or pro-right fake news. These findings contradict the confirmation bias and may suggest that a greater influence of factors such as age, the level of digital news literacy and psychological aspects in the judgment of fake news are at play. Older and less educated respondents indicated they believed and would disseminate fake news at greater rates. Regardless of the ideology they favor, the Portuguese attributed higher credibility to the sample’s real news, a fact that can be meaningful regarding the fight against disinformation in Portugal and elsewhere.

Abstract:
This paper discussed strategies and solutions that are carried out related to technology equality, namely technology, must be used by all students and potentially supervised by parents, appropriate assessments, preparing enrichment modules, and other things that can enrich literacy. Before learning, some teachers negotiate with students regarding the agreement on using the platform used in learning. Many platforms can be used in online learning, so it can be unclear if they do not focus on a particular platform. In addition to negotiations, it also aims to ensure that all students can access the same technology to support distance learning. Self-regulation is also an effort if it turns out that parental involvement is very weak in the learning process. However, parental involvement in the child's learning process is a must. This study describes how gadgets (positive and negative impacts) impact the mental development of children of developing age in kindergarten and elementary school at the Prof Kadirun Yahya foundation. Abstract:
IntroductionOlder people with hip fractures often require long-term care and a crucial aspect is the provision of quality health information to patients and their carers to support continuity of care. If patients are well informed about their health condition and caring needs, particularly posthospital discharge into the community setting, this may support recovery and improve quality of life. As internet and mobile access reach every household, it is possible to deliver a new model of service using a digital education platform as a personal health hub where both patients and their providers of care can establish a more efficient information integration and exchange process. This protocol details proposed research, which aims to develop a ‘model of care’ by using a digital health solution that will allow delivery of high quality and patient-centred information, integrated into the existing process delivered within the community setting. Methods and analysisThis phase of the study uses a pragmatic mixed-methods design and a participatory approach through engagement of patients, their carers and healthcare providers from multiple disciplines to inform the development of a digital health platform. Quantitative methods will explore health literacy and e-health literacy among older people with hip fractures admitted to the two public tertiary care hospitals in Adelaide, South Australia. Qualitative methods will provide an understanding of aspects of content and context required for the digital health platform to be developed in order to deliver quality health information. The study will use appropriate theoretical frameworks and constructs to guide the design, analysis and overall conduct of the research study. The scope of the study intends to ultimately empower patients and their carers to improve self-management and to better use coordinated services at the community level. This could prevent further falls including associated injuries or new fractures; reduce new hospital admissions and improve confidence and engagement by limiting the psychologically restrictive ‘fear of falls’.Ethics and disseminationThe study has been approved by the Human Research Ethics Committee of the Central Adelaide Local Health Network, South Australia (SA) Health, Government of South Australia and the University of Adelaide Human Research Ethics Committee. Findings from the study will be published in suitable peer-reviewed journals and disseminated through workshops or conferences.

Abstract:
The problem in ‘Night, Mother is the external and internal conflict of mother in her family, the reason in choosing this topic is because the fact that drama shows the two sides that the mother has. On one side, the mother has to sacrifice everything in order to keep the family well, she has to show the role model that the kid can see in herself. However, on the other side, the mother also has the weakness, there are lots of burdens, and this can lead to the climax that she has fed up with her life, and she chooses to end it all.The purpose of this writing is the suffering on of modern mothers based on psychological analysis. It was divided into external conflict of disappointment from husband and son, internal conflict of suffering because of disease, and the conflict that leads to her suicide. This analysis uses psychological theory, Daiches said that psychological theory was based on the assumption that literary work always talks about human life events because it concerns about people and their lives, it must contain psychological aspects in the story. Psychology was expected to help us to know the characters well. In the method of research, qualitative method is used because Creswell said that it is attempted to trace the source of information in the form of document which were relevant to the object of the research. In finding in this analysis, this analysis will be focused on the psychological background of the character particularly the main character. First, the external conflict of disappointment from husband and son, Jessie feels lonely after her husband and son leave her. Second, internal conflict of suffering because of disease, the other factor that causes suffering to Jessie character is the disease that has become the trigger for her to commit suicide. Third, the conflict that leads to her suicide, Jessie as the mother is strong, however she needs support from her whole family, without that support, she feels dead inside and finally chooses to commit suicide. The problems faced by modern woman are loneliness, instable family structure, and crisis in emotionality.

Abstract:
This study discusses the psychological aspects of the main character. The purpose of the study is to explain the understanding and details in depth about the personality and emotional classification of the main character. This is a descriptive qualitative study. The approach used is literary psychology. The documentation technique by means of reading and taking notes is used to obtain data from Hamka's novelette entitled “Waiting for the Sounding”. The content analysis technique is used in this study to find information and in-depth understanding of the data collected. Data validation uses theory triangulation. The results and discussion show that Mr. Sharif's personality is influenced by the id, the ego, and the superego. Mr. Sharif in the novelette is described as having a lonely character and suffering from the life he lived. He worked as a Dutch employee in order to escape the misery of the colonial period at that time. Therefore, it seems that Mr. Sharif’s various emotions demonstrate a form of conflict both with oneself (internal conflict) in the form of regret and feelings of guilt and with the environment (external conflict) in the form of love, envy and hate, and loneliness

Abstract:
The relevance of the research is based on more than a year-long restrictions experienced by people of Lithuania and worldwide because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The theoretical part presents a concept for bibliotherapic recommendations for reading. From an interdisciplinary point of view, the research integrates insights from the domains of psychology, public health, information and communication and literary criticism. Individuals experiencing psychological problems, by delving into literature which encourages reflection of humanistic values, during their in-depth reading process, can not only distract themselves from stressful everyday life but also, while identifying themselves with personages of literary works, better conceive themselves and their environment as well as find new ways to solve their problems. This justifies the applicability of bibliotherapy for those who experience social exclusion during the pandemic. The open survey collected data from 17 experts (12 members of the Lithuanian Bibliotherapy Association and 5 practitioners involved in bibliotherapy projects; 4 study participants from the health service sector (psychotherapists); 6 representatives from the education sector; and 7, from the cultural sector). A recommendatory list of books for passive bibliotherapy sessions was drawn. The list comprises 2 topics: (1) recommendations for general bibliotherapy and (2) fiction for health practitioners (81 books in total, 43% of which are accessible online). Every entry in the list includes metadata required for the identification of the work (AUTHOR and title), a brief substantiation of bibliotherapic aspects formulated by experts and the information about the accessibility of the book on the portal ibiblioteka.lt. The list of bibliotherapic literature can be also useful for health practitioners, social activities professionals, organisers of local community activities, librarians and those who wish to provide help by reading.

Abstract:
Introduction. The article discloses the importance of conducting psycholinguistic analysis of perceiving and understanding voluminous literary texts by philology students; the issue is relevant as there is a lack of research that concerns revealing the essential aspects of these processes, as well as the influence of conducting psycholinguistic analysis on effective performance in philology students’ professional activities is highlighted. The goal of the article is to conduct a theoretical analysis of the problem of perceiving and understanding literary texts by philology students and identify the level of development of future teachers of language and literature individual practical skills on decoding the content of a large prose fictional text. Methods. To achieve the goal, the authors used theoretical and empirical research methods. Empirical methods included methodology for determining semantic kernels of a text and its probabilistic connection, and methodology for determining the subtext, motives of the author and characters. Results. Theoretical analysis of the problem led the authors to conclusion that the processes of perceiving and understanding large literary text by philology students are based on two main components: cognitive skills and personal emotional feelings. The process of a literary text perceiving includes such structural elements as the reader’s orientation and the type of student’s work with a literary text, depends on students’ personal professional neoformations (reading competence, speech-cognitive competence), and is also influenced with philology student’s psychological type. The results of empirical study conducted by the authors indicate that future teachers of language have following developed reproductive skills with voluminous literary texts: they at a high level reproduce factual information of a text, can accurately convey an emotional load of a literary work, determine its theme, main idea, etc. Conclusions. The productive types of voluminous literary texts understanding associated with the definition of subtext, motives of the author and characters are mastered by philological students in a rather limited degree and this fact necessitates following studying underlying mechanisms of these processes functioning and developing tools for its targeted progress.

The article exposes the identity of the destructive psychological influence on the personality and offers directions and methods of information-psychological counteraction. One of the areas of psychological practice is being studied - counteraction to informational psychological influence. The most effective methods and practices of counteracting negative information-psychological influence are highlighted. The specific features of counteracting the destructive information-psychological influence, the features of timely psychodiagnostics and the development of effective countermeasures are described. The relevance of the study of this area of psychological work is imposed by the need on the one hand in assessing the quality of psychological protection of employees of internal affairs bodies, and on the other, in searching and stimulating intraorganizational and intrapersonal psychological resources, which necessitates the development of theoretical, methodological and conceptual approaches to the implementation of approaches to protect personnel from negative psychological information influence. The authors consider the destructive informational and psychological influence as one of the most serious problems of modern society, which threatens the psychological safety of not only employees of the internal affairs bodies, but also citizens, entails significant losses, and has a strong psychological effect.

Abstract:
In the time of the Internet and social networks, unconventional actors have an opportunity to establish themselves in the field of literature and influence it. Bookstagramers are literary field agents who work alongside professional/academic literary critique and dispose of the symbolic capital gained in virtuality. In reality, bookstagramers play a critical discourse role: they shape fashion (of reading or the relevance of a particular genre of literature), they might influence (and are influencing) a community of professional critics, creating a specific literary culture that reflects social network logic, and so on. The purpose of this article is to look at how Lithuanian bookstagramers evaluate literary works by posting on the social network Instagram (the intentions of these evaluations and their possible impact on the addressee). With the help of media and communication theories, the perspective of literary sociology, the critique of the reader’s response, applying the survey method, we delve into the empirical material (bookstagramers survey data). The research revealed the sociological picture of a Lithuanian bookstagramer, the intentions of writing about books on Instagram, and the specifics of the information published. In some cases, this study confirms the more general socio-cultural and psychological aspects previously known (women are more interested in culture, read more books, seek to communicate, make connections). A closer look at the respondents’ responses creates the preconditions for seeing the reality and virtuality of non-professional literary reflections in a particular society, where speaking is paramount. This discourse, driven by Instagram’s logic of architecture and social networking in general, does not lead to a broader discussion, deeper reflections on the works, as it is more reminiscent of brief impressionist speeches about a book read, sometimes inserting excursions about other personal hobbies (not necessarily related to reading). For this reason, it is not appropriate to apply the title of criticism to such recordings, but they should be considered a part of the discourse of Lithuanian literary criticism.

Abstract:
AbstractBoth literary theory and biblical narrative criticism lack an articulate, comprehensive theory of character. Many Gospel critics perceive character in the Hebrew Bible (where characters can develop) to be radically different from that in ancient Greek literature (where characters are supposedly consistent ethical types). Most people also sharply distinguish between modern fiction and its psychological, individualistic approach to character and ancient characterization where character lacks personality or individuality. In Part I, we examine concepts of character in ancient Hebrew and Greek literature as well as modern fiction, arguing that although there are differences in characterization, these are differences in emphases rather than kind. It is better to speak of degrees of characterization along a continuum. In Part II, we develop a comprehensive theory of character in the Fourth Gospel, consisting of three aspects. First, we study character in text and context, using information in the text and other sources. Second, we analyze and classify the Johannine characters along three dimensions (complexity, development, inner life), and plot the resulting character on a continuum of degree of characterization (from agent to type to personality to individuality). We observe that many Johannine characters are more complex and round than has been believed so far. Third, we analyze and evaluate the characters' responses to Jesus in relation to the Fourth Evangelist's evaluative point of view, purpose and dualistic worldview.

Abstract:
The article presents lexical-grammatical and associative-semantic methods of verbalization of basic value-axiological concepts - woman, man, mind, child. The mediacontent of the modern magazine “Zinka” is characterized as a container that covers universal information, including emotional, playful one. The importance of attention to anecdotes is noted as to everyday, literary stories, which reflect key concepts of human relationships, but are not used to create these concepts. The role of mini-texts of jokes as a means of psychological and social unloading, activation of a positive world-view of a person is noted. Anecdotes as oral narrative genres are reproduced in written and bring to the target audience in the artistic form certain value dominants, which contemporary Ukrainians should focus on, as well as gender aspects of linguo-cultural activity in the community, and in general, reflect informative-communication culture of community. All text material is analyzed with attention to the following linguistic means of comism creation: the contrast of direct and figurative meaning of the word and phraseological reversal, the contrast of high and low, literary and colloquial in stylistic semantics of words and phraseological reversals, pun, semantic alogisms of homonyms, synonyms and paronims. Particular attention is paid to the functions of precedent name in literary anecdotes. It is noted that in Ukrainian laughter culture the appellation to a precedent phenomenon is traditional, which serves as the undisputed authority, because for a long time a certain image of a leader has been formed in society, template ideas about it are finished, which gives the impression of the authenticity of the situation being played. It is shown that in such anecdotes and jokes the precedent name acquires interactive features, and the public image of the so-called media persona is updated every time, activating the linguocultural memory of the audience of listeners-readers.

This paper provides a theoretical analysis of environmental consciousness in terms of its defining features, structural dimensions and types. More specifically, it explores the correlation between the anthropocentric/ecocentric perspective and sustainable household practices and interactions with the natural world. Another focus is the underlying dimensions of environmental consciousness such as environmental sensitivity, sustainable consumption, environmental concern and commitment to act pro-environmentally. Ecological crisis is examined through the lens of spirituality, value orientations, attitudes, worldviews and environmental consciousness. Among the other issues addressed are effective environmental literacy programs through school-family partnership and the driving forces of pro-environmental behaviour.

Information and communication technologies, the Internet in particular, have a significant impact on all the aspects of social life. Therefore, it is necessary to study the problems, consequences, and scale of such influence in the sphere of different scientific disciplines (sociology, psychology, and cultural studies) as well as in the sphere of interdisciplinary discourse. There is a need for research adequate to the current situation of transition to a new technological mode, a digital society, which actualizes the demand for the formation of a new type of personality, a new elite. The new elite will be the bearers of the socio-cultural code of deep and systemic information processing, the owners of electronic culture on the basis of critical digital literacy and reflexivity. At the same time, specific empirical studies of recent years abroad and in Russia demonstrate the predominance of competences of information and communication technologies user, which is absolutely insufficient in the digital society. This research aims to analyze the value-reflexive attitude of Russians to the Internet based on the results of a specific sociological survey among the residents of Moscow and the Moscow Region, implemented under the guidance and direct participation of the authors of this article during the period of social restrictions imposed by state authorities in connection with the new coronavirus infection from April to November 2020 by online questionnaire. The research tools included a block of questions on the digitalization of the region, including a number of statements showing the value-reflexive attitude of the respondents to the Internet. The results show that the number of respondents, who regard the Internet as one of the modern civilizational values, exceeds the share of respondents who recognize the dangers of Internet addiction. The authors have revealed that an even smaller percentage of those aware of the relationship of Internet addiction and anonymity on the Internet with the destruction of moral and moral systems, the erasure of the boundaries of personal and public space, psychological problems. A significant proportion of those who exhibit dangerous symptoms of alienation from the real, physical and social world was recorded. It was determined that for the majority of respondents, the Internet space has not become a platform of freedom, creative fulfillment, a friendly environment. The article assumes that economic conditions could become the foundation for bringing people together in the Internet space. Intergenerational differences in the value-reflexive attitude to the Internet space are revealed. The authors draw attention to the fact that the elderly, as the bearers of the deep meanings of traditional cultural forms, reflect the risks and dangers of the Internet space to a greater extent than the young people and adults. The authors link the prospects for further research with the sociological monitoring, which will allow studying the dynamics of digitalization processes in the region, the impact of age characteristics of identity on the attitude to the Internet, and the formation of electronic culture.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the study of the mental components of the decision-making process. Studies are carried out using the information and mathematical method of studying mental phenomena. Analysis of the scientific literature shows the lack of a single interpretation of the concept of "decision". Each decision is aimed at relaxing the tension of any significant situation and is associated with risk. It is established that the risk of making a decision is the higher, the less pragmatic information at the time of making a decision the individual has, and the more serious for him the possible damage from making a decision. The triune essence of decisions and the fact that the concepts of goal-setting and motivation act as an analogue of a decision are revealed. Three points of the bifurcation of the motivational process are established. The definition of a decision is given as a fact of appearance of the binary relation “motive-goal”. The results can be used in psychotherapy, and at the same time when designing machines with anthropomorphic behavior. All this is associated with the high technology of the future.

Abstract:
Particularly to the younger Millennials and Generation Z, it appears as if social networking sites (SNS) is coming to the point of replacing normal social interactions and removing much of the personal aspects out of socialization. With the Internet literally being able to move at the speed of light, face-to-face interactions appear to be slowly in decline. As a highly social species, humans require interaction to maintain a healthy psychological state. This research has been conducted to analyze the level of loneliness and the level of SNS use with the intent of reinvestigating previous research on the correlations of SNS and loneliness with a more diverse demographic sample. In addition, this study has been designed to see if high usage of specific platforms has an increased likelihood to be related with loneliness. This research has been conducted by means of an anonymous survey of college students at a university in the Pacific to determine the amount of time spent on SNS, activities conducted while utilizing SNS, the priorities placed, and other information in regards to SNS usage. Inquiry was also conducted in analyzing how interpersonal relationships are related to or affected by SNS. This has been combined with the revised UCLA loneliness scale to determine if there is a correlation between SNS use, specific platform use, and loneliness. While previous similar studies have been conducted, the two primary differences are the diversity in the demographics available to be surveyed and the attempt at identifying if a specific platform is more likely to be related with loneliness.

Library workers from libraries of all types can struggle with the challenges of juggling instructional responsibilities with other assigned duties. Library context can play a key role in the resources available to mitigate these challenges. In this article, Chelsea Contrada discusses information literacy instruction in a community college library context and how that context influences her approach to library instruction. She articulates some of the unique aspects of instruction in community colleges and how community college librarians take a different approach than many of their peers in four-year colleges and universities. Contrada makes a strong case for increased collaboration across library type and more robust opportunities for professional development and engagement for community college librarians.—Editor

By analysing 104 studies on information literacy, the present study indicates that Information Literacy is an essential skill in the current society. The importance of libraries in imparting information literacy is also mentioned in many studies. The literacy training has to be started at the school level, and it should be included in the curricula. The review shows that the only solution to reduce the digital divide gap among the information-rich and information-poor citizens is information literacy. Many initiatives have been started in India to bridge this gap. Many organisations and Associations like UNESCO, IFLA, American Library Associations, Society of Colleges, National and University Libraries (SCONUL) have framed different standards and Information Literacy models for various types of information users.

Abstract:
Purpose The purpose of this study is to investigate the level of information literacy (IL) skills competency among university library professionals in Karachi, Pakistan and to address areas of concern. Design/methodology/approach An online survey was designed, using Google Forms, to collect data from 77 academic librarians working in 25 universities in Karachi, Pakistan. The questions covered six generic attributes: library systems, information resources, searching techniques, research support, IL and generic/personal attributes. Findings The results indicate that the librarians who were surveyed had good IL skills in information searching and locating information resources. However, the average of all survey responses was 54.17 per cent, with 12 of the 24 competencies receiving scores of less than 50 per cent, thus indicating a generally overall low level of IL competency in the workplace. Research limitations/implications As the study was limited to universities in Karachi, it would be useful to apply the same methodology to other administrative units within the country. Further research is indicated on the potential impact of gender on aspects such as level of IL skills and motivation to enhance workplace competencies. Practical implications The authors have suggested a number of strategies, which would be applicable globally to any university library wishing to improve the IL skills competencies of its staff. Originality/value There have been no previous published, non-discipline-specific, research studies on the IL skills competencies of academic librarians in Pakistan.

Abstract:
This article presents a comprehensive analysis of the basic concepts that make up the conceptual sphere of the novel “Of Human Bondage” by W. S. Maugham. These concepts act as cognitive dominants of the linguistic consciousness of the protagonist’s linguistic personality in the work under study. The novelty of this research lies in the fact that it is performed within the framework of a new paradigm of linguistics — the cognitive linguistics, which involves the study of mental and linguistic representations of thought processes that occur during the perception of information. Moreover, the novel “Of Human Bondage” by W. S. Maugham has not attracted the attention of linguists-cognitologists previously, which adds to the novelty of this article. In addition, the present study provides a comprehensive description of the basic concepts making up the conceptual sphere of the novel. The linguistic methods of representing various concepts in the analyzed work are determined by the national, personal, cultural, and psychological aspects of Maugham’s thinking. The authors employ a communicative-cognitive methodological analysis proposed by N. S. Bolotnova involving the modeling of textual and intertextual semantic fields of artistic concepts and the analysis of the conceptual sphere of a literary text. The universal concepts RELIGION, LOVE, PASSION, THE MEANING OF LIFE, which constitute the conceptual sphere of the novel by W. S. Maugham “Of Human Bondage”, are analyzed. The main result of the study is that THE MEANING OF LIFE concept is universal, not individual, and it includes other universal concepts, such as RELIGION, LOVE, PASSION, THE MEANING OF LIFE, conceptual metaphors and metonyms, symbols, and other words-associates, which constitute the broad figurative and evaluative periphery of the conceptual sphere of the novel.

Abstract:
Introduction. The information environment of the society as an integral part of a human habitat is a factor of his health and must comply with safety requirements. As a result of the development of communication technologies on the basis of computer devices and the Internet, there have been significant changes in the information environment of the society and its impact on people. The study of the negative impact of the contemporary information environment on a human cannot be limited to physical and psychophysiological factors. A semantic component of the information itself is significant. Information environment has a negative impact on the cognitive and emotional sphere of his psyche. The object of information influence is the personality. The objective of the paper is to study the formation of the contemporary information and communication environment of the society, the trends in its development, to define its main components and psychological peculiarities. Material and methods. The method of investigation is a comparative analysis of the views of various authors and their theoretical generalization. Results. Based on the analysis of publications, a current understanding of the information and communication environment of the society is presented. The formation of the information environment is connected with the development of technologies and tools for fixing, preserving and transferring social experience. Six stages of the development of the means of the information transferring and preservation in the society are selected. Global informatization of the environment leads to the changes in people’s lives and activities. The picture of the human world, his worldview, his way of life are exposed to the effects of the information traffic. The risk factor is the deterioration of the human adaptation to new conditions. The changes within the individual do not keep up with the rapid changes in technology. Conclusion. In the context of the new information and communication reality the importance of the problems of human ecology was shown to increase. The information environment of a society as an object of the study can be considered in the following aspects: a) as a human habitat; b) as a means of information human activities; c) as a system of communications, including interpersonal ones; d) as an information infrastructure that provides storage, access and use of information arrays.

Abstract:
The result of labour is not only the birth of a child but also the formation of a mother, woman who has got to know motherhood. Moreover there is a radical change in the social status of the couple as a whole. It turns into a mother and father. The consequence of this is a change in attitude towards yourself and others, that is, the transformation of the personality. This explains why during pregnancy and delivery the risk of family problems worsening rises sharply and somatic and neuropsychic disorders emerge. The aim of the work is to describe and systematically outline the main psychological and psychiatric aspects of the postnatal period in the life of a woman and a child. Changes occur in the life of a woman, and the possible to diagnose the manifestations of disharmonious development in a timely manner, to prevent and help to solve them constructively. The information is presented taking into account both historical aspects and the state of the issue in modern society.

Abstract:
Introduction. Technological education, being a part of the school curriculum, is presented as a factor and a means of students’ socialisation and as “a process and a result of active learning by schoolchildren the general and professional technological culture, general and special ways of technological transformation of reality, and the development of technological competency and creative abilities of a person” 1 . However, over the past decade, the goals of this type of education have undergone several changes: in high-technology competitive world, the priority is given to the development of “universal digital literacy”, which affected the content of teachers’ work. The peculiarity of a teacher’s work in the considered professional and pedagogical activity is the integration of pedagogical, psychological and technicaltechnological components. Currently, there is increased deficit of qualified technology teachers. The modern system of teacher education does not imply fundamental technical training and the training of technical specialists does not require the formation of psychological and pedagogical competencies. The approaches to solve the problem can be drawn from the theory and practical application of vocational pedagogy. Primarily, engineering pedagogy is intended to ensure the quality of personnel of teaching community in engineering institutions. The aim of the present article is to justify the appropriateness of using the methodology of engineering pedagogy in the training of teachers of technological education and the need for expanding of relevant educational programmes in graduate school and in the continuing education system in technical universities.Methodology and research methods. The research was based on the following methodology: the provisions of professionology; systematic analysis of applied aspects of engineering pedagogy; the principle of convergence, defining interdisciplinary and supra-professional relationships, contributes to the design and promotion of the transprofessional nature of actors; the main principle of operation and development of the system of vocational and pedagogical training and advanced training of teachers (including technology teachers) – synchronised content of teaching with scientific, technical and technological innovations. Results and scientific novelty. The authors show the relationship between engineering and technological education goals, based on shared general activity nature. Scientific grounds for the development of engineering pedagogy in terms of training of teachers of technology are identified. The triplicity of such training is demonstrated: the qualification required to be a technology teacher implies possession of effective educational methods, knowledge of child psychology and competences in the field of modern digital technologies and technological equipment. The constantly growing level of knowledge intensity of the latter and the specific intertwining of humanitarian, natural science and applied components in the work of the technology teacher show that the system of his or her continuing education, retraining and advanced training should be organised. On the basis of the technical specialty received earlier, the opportunities of such an organisation, including technical universities, are presented. One effective option could be the development of a digital cluster – a platform, which integrates the resources of educational institutions of different stages, production structures, as well as enterprises of medium and small business. The operation of this cluster will contribute to the rapid spread of modern technologies and it will provide their accessibility and continuity of technological education in school, as well as in secondary vocational and higher education. The common information space will ensure to provide the coordination of instrumental training elements, to compare methods and develop personality-oriented approaches with the help of distance technologies. In addition, the digital cluster can serve as a mechanism for selection and retraining of teachers of universities, technical schools and technology teachers through the formation of a database providing information on mentors with unique competencies.Practical significance. The authors believe that the present research could be useful for the development of alternative methods and forms of training of vocational and pedagogical personnel.

Abstract:
Information literacy (IL), defined as the capacity to locate, evaluate and use information to create new knowledge, is a core adult life skill and an extension of the notion of functional literacy. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has identified information literacy as an essential capacity for participation in the knowledge economy and has included this construct as a strategic priority in the Information for All Programme (IFAP).To support this initiative UNESCO has commissioned research to consider whether a household survey could be used to identify the extent to which people in member states are information literate in all aspects of their life, including work and lifelong learning, and in relation to their personal well-being, and in their participation in civil society. United Nations agencies use surveys to provide indications of the extent to which various agreed objectives are being achieved. These include international surveys of education and of health and well-being.This paper reports on an investigation aimed at determining whether indicators of IL could be identified by secondary analysis of existing data collected in other household surveys. It was concluded that IL has unique elements that are not encompassed in the surveys that were examined.

Abstract:
Psychologists have done little research on the psychological aspects of life support. Research in other areas of psychology has produced results applicable to the life support situation, however. The results of directly and indirectly applicable research indicate that both patients and their intimates suffer less psychological distress if those who have a close positive relationship with the patient maintain emotional closeness to the patient and participate in making decisions concerning life support. Decisions to end treatment are difficult because ending treatment changes the social structure and identity of the survivors. Death is less stressful if the death comes at the right time of life, and the process of dying is neither too long nor too short. People feel less distress if they have appropriate information concerning the situation and have some control.

Abstract:
Even though the concept of information literacy typically embraces an idea of a complete participation in an information community, its definitions have tended to underline the phases of seeking, searching and evaluation instead of creating information. Shortcomings of information creation can, however, explain many of the difficulties of finding information. This article develops the notion of information literacy with a specific focus on integrating creation and organization of information as central aspects of being information literate and discusses the implications of developing information creation processes from the point of view of information professionals and users. Finally, suggestions are made for how information creation might be improved in practice.

Abstract:
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to make a contribution to the theoretical and pragmatic positioning of critical information literacy by interpreting it in the light of epistemological shifts brought about by Web 2.0. Epistemological shifts are elaborated from educational and institutional perspectives as well as from that of scientific research. Design/methodology/approach – This paper brings a theoretical analysis drawing on relevant literature for the purpose of identifying the grounds for the mapping of concepts associated with critical information literacy and participatory information environments. Based on descriptive analysis, the paper clarifies distinctions between/participatory/and /information bank/environments and identifies correlations existing between CIL and participatory information environments. Findings – There are conceptual disagreements between IL as it was defined and perceived by Zurkowski and how it has to be perceived in the context of contemporary participatory information environments. Current environments are congruent with the core principles and values of critical information literacy and call for the reshaping of IL by introducing into it critical and transformative elements. Not technological aspects of Web 2.0 are crucial in this regard, but epistemological shifts. Practical implications – Owing to the fact that Web 2.0 and critical information literacy share many similar features, information environments based on participatory technologies and services provide a context ideally suited for the application of the principles of CIL. Social implications – The paper highlights the correlating dimensions between Web 2.0 and critical information literacy and proposes that Web 2.0 makes necessary a more critical outlook on information literacy. Originality/value – The paper highlights the correlating dimensions between Web 2.0 and critical information literacy, indicates specific differences between information literacy and critical information literacy and closes with the conclusion that Web 2.0 makes necessary a more critical outlook on information literacy.
