Siuta, Halyna. "Terminology of receptive stylistics: the adaptation of other-disciplinary concepts." Terminological Bulletin, no. 5 (2019): 104–11. http://dx.doi.org/10.37919/2221-8807-2019-5-13.

Abstract:
Receptive stylistics is the latest trend in the stylistics of text. It studies the mechanisms of text perception, in view of the account time, socio-cultural and individual psychological factors of perception. This integrative model of textology combines the ideas of hermeneutics, phenomenology, receptive aesthetics and poetics, traditional poetics, linguоsynergetics etc. Maximum openness to the researching of the intellectual and communicative nature of the text is reflected in the terminology of receptive stylistics. One of the theoretical platforms of receptive stylistics is receptive aesthetics (aesthetics of the reception). Terminology of this scientific branch was actively accepted and integrated into the special language of the new stylistic direction. First of all, we are talking about key concepts such as aesthetic experience and horizon [expectations] of the author / reader, horizons of perception / understanding. empty spaces / semantic gaps in the structure of the text, identification of the reader with the text, specification of the text, actual dimension of the text, etc. Today, the Ukrainian receptive theory is structured by the concept of actualization of the text, the horizon of the text, the constitution of the text, the communicative certainty / uncertainty of the text. Emphasizing theoretical and methodological cores of contemporary Ukrainian receptive theory, it is necessary to focus on the national historical and cultural context of its constructing. Especially important from this point of view is the treatise by Ivan Franko From the Secrets of Poetic Art. Most of the theses of this work present a progressive vision of the deep psychological mechanisms of reading the artistic text in the measure of active perception, as lingual and aesthetic communication, dialogue between the author and the reader through the text. Also, the concurrence of Ivan Franko’s views with fundamental receptive principles of studying artistic text constitutes the scientific concepts of aesthetics, inductive aesthetics, perception, reception, suggestion, resonance, sensory vibration, etc. Consequently, the concept of reading and interpreting works of verbal art, formed in the treatise From the Secrets of Poetic Creativity, implicitly contains the basic principles of receptive aesthetics and poetics. Cardinally new philosophy of reconnaissance of the nature of artistic text, psycholinguistic mechanisms of influence on the reader, regularities of reception and interpretation at the end of the 20th century presented linguistic synergetic. Actual, and in some aspects methodological for receptive theory has become the following concepts of linguistic synergetic: nonlinearity of development, stability / instability of development, openness of the system, rhizomes, energy of the text, energy resonance, author’s energy, reader energy, etc. In contemporary receptive stylistic studies they do not stagnate, but are in a state of active deepening, refinement. For example, the concept energy of the text is coordinated with such established, well-known categories of stylistics as linguistic and literary tradition, lingual and cultural memory, reception and interpretation. Process of terminological borrowing and assimilation of units of other disciplines contributes to the development of an integrative terminological paradigm optimally adapted to the needs of the reciprocal description of the nature of artistic text.

Abstract:
Charlotte Smith's lengthy absence from popular culture has positioned her at the periphery of Romantic studies, yet the visual aspects of her prose exhibit a sustained engagement with Romantic ideals and aesthetic discourse, particularly the sublime. This article thus examines the experiences of Smith's marginalised heroines at physical borderlands in Ethelinde: or the Recluse of the Lake (1789) and Montalbert (1795) in relation to Edmund Burke's classifications of sublime and beautiful landscapes. Smith's protagonists demonstrate that small yet beautiful domestic spaces are places of reflection which provide sanctuary, whilst rugged sublime coastlines evoke extreme emotions and involve mental faculties such as the imagination. In Smith's work, there is an inherent connection between nature and selfhood which becomes the basis for an aesthetic system which expands upon Burkean terminology and constructs a framework for understanding the physical, emotional and psychological aspects of female interactions with the natural world.

Brayko, Oleksandr. "Coloristic Expressive Tools in Prose by Volodymyr Drozd." Слово і Час, no. 8 (August 11, 2019): 78–97. http://dx.doi.org/10.33608/0236-1477.2019.08.78-97.

Abstract:
The paper deals with coloristic means in the works by the well-known Ukrainian writer-Sixtier. It focuses on the functions of colors and color effects in the text, their analogues in painting, and the role of the colors in showing semantic and mood accents or expressing some implicated meanings. The researcher traces accordance of the literary means with expressive resources of painting art as they are recorded in the theory of art. Throughout all the periods of the writer’s creative work the prose by V. Drozd shows the author’s attention to the plastic wealth of the outside world and its coloristic potential. The search for the graphic forms of a psychological analysis, as well as the mood dominant, the background of event, the expressive color markers of semantic accents or meaningful image components of exposition, and, after all, the very painting-like modeling of the landscape or interior, stimulated new graphic experiments that renewed and deepened aesthetic impact of a literary work on a reader, due to the culture of visual perception and constructive imagination. The first attempts of verbal design and color rendering in V. Drozd’s works still testify to his literary apprenticeship showing excessively decorative nature, unambiguity of semantic associations, bright hues and chromatic saturation that looks rather as adopted from pictures and not taken from nature. Such artistic approach to the theme generates enormous, and at the same time ideologically typical, pathos associated with aesthetics of socialistic realism and therefore with the teaching function of art. The development of coloristic culture in the works of the prose writer is rooted in his attention to the rich range of hues, their emotional and expressive potential, and also in the author’s desire to show a psychological action in a more plastic and suggestive way. In order to reproduce the coloristic variety of sensory experience and underline important semantic implications the writer skillfully works on the parameters of achromatic light environment which becomes symbolized or transformed in a fantastic and hyperbolic way due to the expressive function of light markers. The light and color contrasts or combinations of hues may underline some essential semantic aspects of the verbal picture components within the reproduction of a landscape. The analysis of figurative and modeling means proves the artistic functionality of the verbal analogues of painting in V. Drozd’s prose, and its consistency with the aesthetic dominants of the Sixtiers.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the research of the context of the author’s view in the architectonics of antiwar novels of the mentioned authors. The signs of a real military type, which appeared in the time on the pages of the humanities in the aspect of rationalism and individualism, are found out. The essence of the “lost generation” is characterised in philosophical, historical and aesthetic aspects. It is proved that the artistic system of anti-war novels is characterized by the dominant way of introducing the author’s view of the story. Aspects such as the author’s attitude to war disasters, the epic tone of the story, the aesthetic concept of the artist, his sociological, historical and psychological views are analysed. The objective-historical point of view, according to which narration extended the boundaries of space, created the background of time, overcame the static of the narrative, deepened the principle of mimesis, is investigated. The peculiarities of the authors’ artistic systems and some of their creative principles, the subjective interpretation of the feelings of the characters have been found out. The skill of each artist in reproducing the inner world of the characters under the influence of the bloody events of the war is outlined. The key words of novels, which serve as generalized forms of imaginative consciousness, as well as their influences on the artistic and psychological nature of the works, are characterised. The functioning of the author’s language of anti-war novels and the peculiarity of oral and written and professional language are traced. The stable correlation of the analysed novels with the most actual problems of the socio-psychological atmosphere of a specific historical era is studied. The originality of the writers’ literary world is revealed, the originality of their thinking is emphasized and the dominant typological similarities and differences are characterised. In studying the structure of the analysed novels, the peculiarity of the conciseness of the collective portraits, in which all the emotional and psychological capacity of each component is reproduced, is traced. It is emphasised that the context of the author’s view also manifests itself through various extravagant elements (authorial indentations, descriptions of exteriors, titles, epigraphs, etc.), which along with the story aspect of the novels give them artistic completeness and integrity. In addition, the specifics of the author’s language of anti-war novels are studied.

Abstract:
A community tree planting project was conducted on the border of an urban Nashville, Tenn., neighborhood in Autumn 1994. In Jan. 2000, a written survey was developed to assess residents' perception of this site. Responses were gathered voluntarily and anonymously following a community meeting. Photographs of the site taken before the planting and again recently were available to respondents. Descriptions of the site's appearance prior to planting (turf only) included barren, boring, and lacking character. Comments regarding the site with trees suggest that trees provide cover and shade, are aesthetically pleasing, and represent positive human involvement. The average rating of the site's appearance prior to planting was “fair,” while its recent appearance was rated “very good.” Among three tree species included in the planting, Southern magnolia was strongly preferred over Canadian (Eastern) hemlock and Eastern redbud. Respondents valued magnolia's size, unique flowers and leaves, and evergreen nature. Most respondents did not use the area for any specific purpose. Despite that fact, respondents stated that they benefitted from the soothing aesthetics of the landscaped site, and that the site added value to the neighborhood and implied the qualities of belonging and leadership. An unintended outcome of the survey was its educational aspect. Nearly two-thirds of respondents did not live in the area when this site was landscaped, and most of them were not aware that the neighborhood had conducted the project. Nearly one-half of all respondents expressed interest in additional landscaping at this site or nearby high-visibility, high-use sites.

The high prevalence of dental anomalies and deformities requires a careful approach to orthodontic treatment, especially to improve quality of life. The purpose of the study was to determine the effectiveness of orthodontic care by index assessment of the results of correction of dental anomalies and determination of the psychosocial profile in adolescents of the Transcarpathian region. Material and methods. The object of the study were 68 adolescents from the Transcarpathian region. Determination of the correction of dental and maxillary apparatus anomalies was performed by calculating the relevant part of the ICON index, calculating the evaluation of the results. The quality of life of adolescents was assessed using the OHIP-14 quality of life questionnaire. Statistical analysis was performed after consolidation of results using the application package Statistica 10.0 (StatSoft, Inc., USA) and Microsoft Office Excel 2010. Results and discussion. Many studies in the field of psychology have determined that self-esteem is a core characteristic of the individual and together with the level of claims is a regulator of human activity and significantly affects its development. The result of self-esteem depends on how a person evaluates his/her success in joint activities where he/she is a member. This is especially true for teenagers and adolescence. The most important aspect of impaired quality of life in patients of this subgroup were problems of psychological and social nature, issues of external attractiveness, which prevailed even over the physical aspects of the impact, which is quite typical of adolescence. In patients with moderate orthodontic treatment there was a statistically significant improvement on the scales of psychological discomfort (from 6.4±0.6 points to 3.96±0.6 points; p <0.05), psychological disability (from 6.5±0.5 points to 2.18±0.5 points; p <0.05) and social disability (from 5.4±0.5 points to 3.36±0.5 points; p <0.05). Patients in this group after solving problems related to the aesthetics of the smile, as well as discomfort during communication, felt greater psychological comfort, relief in interaction with others and peers. There was a noteworthy shift of accentuation in such patients from problems with appearance to study and active social life. Among patients with severe orthodontic treatment, the most pronounced dynamics was observed on all scales of dental quality of life: on the scale of masticatory dysfunction (from 5.7±1.0 points to 3.12±1.0 points; p <0.05), physical pain (from 7.5±0.7 points to 2.01±0.7 * points; p <0.05), psychological discomfort (from 7.9±0.6 points to 3.48±0.6 points; p <0.05) physical disability (from 7.7±0.5 points to 3.20±0.5 points; p <0.05), psychological disability (from 7.5±0.4 points to 3.41±0.5 points; p <0.05). Conclusion. According to the study results, the success of orthodontic treatment (indicators of severity and effectiveness of orthodontic treatment according to the ISO index) directly correlated with the level of quality of life (r = 0.62; p <0.05)

Abstract:
The article substantiates the relevance of the formation of children's creative activity with the help of folklore in the process of integration of different types of artistic activities in the theory and practice of preschool education. It is noted that the highest form of human’s activity and at the same time his characteristic is creativi-ty, at the same time creative activity is defined as human activity in a particular type of creativity, which acquires essential and specific features of creativity. As a result we can mention that creativity and activity are interrelated, interpenetrating concepts that influence each other. Different approaches of understanding the essence of the concepts "creativity", "activity" are revealed and the main interpretations of these terms in philosophy, psy-chology and pedagogy are reflected. It is determined that in the studying of creativity there are two approaches: creativity as an activity; creativity as a personality trait. Based on the research of philosophers on the prob-lems of education of social activity, artistic creativity, we consider creative activity as a complex, integral quality of personality, which is a dialectical unity of general, peculi-ar to all types of social activity, and especially specific only as a measure of personality’s activity in art, has two interconnected aspects: external and internal. The external side involves the implementation of ac-tions and deeds which have creative nature. Internal involves a conscious, meaningful attitude to the activities performed, the manifestation of volitional qualities associ-ated with achieving the result. Older preschool age is the basis for the formation of creative activity and children's creativity in general, as the developmental perception of the child is the causative agent of the child's activity and creative activity in gen-eral. One of the means that contributes to younger genera-tion personality’s formation, which carries enormous educational potential, is folk art, because it contains wis-dom, the best people’s moral and aesthetic experience. In addition, it contributes to the formation of children’s crea-tivity. Based on the analysis of research, the possibilities of such types of oral folk art as fairy tales, proverbs and sayings, riddles in the formation of creative activity, based on their nature and content.

Abstract:
The concept of urban acupuncture, which has been gaining ground in recent decades, is based on the activation and revitalization of urban environments using small architectural or landscape architectural interventions in precise carefully selected locations of urban fabric. However, the rapid and unexpected design solutions of urban acupuncture, based on ecological design, nature dynamics, street art, material re-use, can cause different social and psychological reactions of urban population and these reactions may vary depending on cultural contexts. Consequently, in order to implement successful urban acupuncture projects in Lithuanian cities, it is very important to find out public opinion and priorities in the fields of public space management, aesthetics, and public art. The aim of the research was to analyze the opinion of Kaunas city residents regarding these issues. For this purpose, a sociological questionnaire survey was used. The questionnaire containing 20 questions was designed, with the aim to find out the trends of use of public spaces in the city, the attitudes of residents towards street art and other small-scale initiatives in public spaces implemented in the recent years, possibilities of creating landscape architecture based on ecological ideas in urban environment, the attitude of inhabitants towards community spaces and community space design in the city, etc. 100 residents of Kaunas participated in this online administered survey. The survey has demonstrated general positive attitude towards contemporary design trends of public spaces and public art; however, the surveyed population expressed preferences towards fully equipped public spaces offering possibilities for a wide range of activities.

Full text
Abstract:
The study of oral formulae in the twentieth century had several phases. After the initial - very stimulating and influential - research by M. Parry and A. B. Lord, who focused on the technique of composing the poem and the mnemotechnic function of formulae, the focus at first shifted to the concept of performance (J. M. Foley), and then to the mental text (L. Honko), which introduced into research horizons social, ideological, psychological and mental conditions of improvisation, interaction between the singer and the audience, collective and individual factors of memorising, cultural representation, and the like. Although all the abovementioned aspects undoubtedly determine the structure of a specific variant, it should be kept in mind that formulae transcend concrete improvisations and connect different epic zones, different local traditions and different times. The formula precedes verbal improvisation both chronologically and logically. Therefore - before explaining the repeating of formulae by the needs and nature of improvisation (composition-in-performance) or the generating of formulae in specific variants by textualisation of mental text - we must explain the existence of the formula in the first place. This paper seeks to point out the complex system of factors that determine the genesis of formulae. Formulae are regarded as cultural codes, which combine elements from different spheres (the conceptualization of space, time, colour and so on, elements of rituals, customary norms, historical experience, life realities, ethics, etc.). Therefore, their structure is described in terms of hidden knowledge, hidden complexity, frame semantics, the tip of the iceberg, compressed meanings. Meanings ?compressed? in the formulae are upgraded with new ?income? in every new/concrete realisation (i.e. poem) and this is the area where aesthetics rivals poetics.

Abstract:
The article deals with genre-style modifications of the realistic essay of the 19th-20th centuries. In the article the author studies Anton Krushelnytsky’s artistic legacy (1878–1937) in the context of the dominant trends of Ukrainian literature at the end of XIX – the beginning of XX century and through the receptive dimensions of modern theory of literature. The paper defines the ideological and axiological background of the writer’s artistic understanding the reality and aesthetic nature of his creativity. The unity of the form and contest of prose texts is determined. The prose of the given period has a great variety of intra-genre modifications: essay, feuilleton, short story, story, novel. The works demonstrate exceptional multidimensionality of their inner structure, style diffusion, eclecticism of belles lettres methods and ways to achieve reality; the motives of «true morals» appear, which form counterbalance and alternative to moral chaos. Syncretic interaction of aesthetic paradigms of neorealism with impressionism, expressionism, symbolism is observed in prose. The characteristic features of the literature of the transitional stage in the moral-ethical, psychological and emotional aspects are revealed. Ukrainian literature of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries was accompanied by the synthesis of sociological, psychological, aesthetic systems. The genre and style features and modifications of A. Krushelnytsky’s small form of prose are considered. The narrative models of the writer’s novels are analysed. Consequently, the essay as a genre of small prose is a complex and multifaceted phenomenon that contains philosophical and aesthetic representations, artistic, socio-political, and moral-ethical quest for the breakthrough of the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The artistic practice of writers contributed to enriching of Ukrainian writing with new themes, images and genre forms, expanding the limits of traditional realism, so, updating the artistic and stylistic palette. The given motives of writers’ works reflected to the inside feelings and experiences of heroes are present as intertextual inclusions in prose of M. Kotsubinskiy, V. Stefanik, P. Mirniy, L. Ukrainka, O. Kobilianska and other writers at the turn of XIX-XX centuries. Being an organic component of Ukrainian literature, the narrative represents a tendency to expand the social sphere of personality images, to deepen the personal psychological characteristics of the individual. The place and role of prose creative works in Ukrainian literary process at the turn of the century are grounded.

Abstract:
The subject of this research is the image of Boris Godunov viewed in three different aspects in the eponymous drama by A. S. Pushkin and in the opera by M. P. Mussorgsky. The goal consist in description of multifacetedness and complexity of image of the Tsar, as well as his main traits in representation of the poet and the composer, which helps the performers in staging the opera “Boris Godunov”. A comparative analysis of drama and opera is conducted in accordance with the tree main categories: philosophical-aesthetic foundation, psychological portrait, peculiarities of social environment and place of the hero therein. The main conclusions consist in determination of the important sides of possible interpretation of the image of Tsar as: 1) basic philosophical idea that underlies the entire play, and thus defines the role of Godunov in the artistic concept of stage director and actor; 2) key psychological traits that set the emotional tone for the image of Tsar Boris Godunov; 3) nature and specificity of relations between the protagonist and other characters. The scientific novelty of this article is defined by an attempt to determine the key trends in creating an artistic image of the hero by means of theoretical analysis of representations on protagonist in the drama by A. S. Pushkin and opera by M. P. Mussorgsky. The author believes that the range of qualities and traits imposed by these prominent upon Boris Godunov would help the novice actors to find the key to their unique interpretation of this character.

The article offers observations about some aspects of the current relationship between psychological aesthetics and neuroaesthetics. In addition to criticism of the occasionally less than rigorous process of inference in neuroaesthetics, reservations are expressed about the ability of neuroaesthetics to address successfully, at least in the next few decades, some seemingly key questions. Among them are those about the vertical theoretical integration of data from different art modalities, as well as about the relationship of various neural correlates, on one hand, and the differential quality of aesthetic episodes, on the other - especially episodes involving peak aesthetic experiences (such as aesthetic awe and being-moved). The article concludes with several concrete suggestions for a potentially interesting and fruitful collaboration of psychological aesthetics and neuroaesthetics.

Each adolescents was interviewed with the Eating Attitudes Test, the Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale, and the Psychosocial Impact of Dental Aesthetics Questionnaire. Results:Data did not show a direct connection between eating disorder and dental aesthetics, nevertheless, adolescents under orthodontic treatment, especially in the earliest phase of wearing braces, showed peculiar eating habits and underwent a higher psychological impact of dental aesthetics. Eating behaviors are strictly linked to global self-esteem. The processing of the results was made through the Student’s t-test and using Pearson’s correlation analysis. Conclusion:Increased knowledge of the psychological aspects involved in orthodontic treatment compliance may have positive effects in the relationship between adolescent patients and orthodontists. More attention should be paid to aspects that are often underestimated in clinical practice, thus, influencing the outcome of treatment and patient satisfaction, not only in terms of dental health, but also of mental health.

Abstract:
Background. During the last century composers show an increasing activity in the fi eld of a literature while writing texts that explain specifi c features of their musical works, their aesthetic, philosophy or attitude to certain cultural phenomena. Sometimes even an analytical essay produced by the composer may characterize the composer’s personality and his/her position in the art. In this aspect, the composer’s texts deliver a vast number of facts directly connected to the heart of aesthetic, social, psychological phenomena of a composer’s activity. In the article an ill-defi ned phenomenon of texts and speeches of a composer on his/her works and on music and art in general is analyzed. The objectives of the study are fi nding the connection between literal and musical works of the composer. The main source of the analysis of a composer’s personality should be musical works, because they contain the complete information about the author, and they may lead to construction of the author’s “portrait” in various aspects – psychological, historical, ideological, etc. Understanding the artistic personality through analysis of his/ her works, although being the most trustworthy method, sometimes is also the hardest, since the author not always manifests himself/herself directly while using various kinds of play-acting. That’s why the analysis of a composer’s speech as an additional fi eld, that refl ects the composer’s personality, may be effective. This method is applied to the published speeches and the interview of Valentyn Sylvestrov. Being applied to his “case”, this analytical instrument explains the reason of his critical speeches against avant-garde aesthetic and its typical adepts (Helmuth Lachenmann, Karlheinz Stockhausen and others). This critic does not mean the change of Sylvestrov’s position since his youth. Although he became known as an avant-gardist in the 1960s, even then – and his early interview (published in 1967) demonstrates this quite clearly – he declared his position which strongly differed from typical avant-garde ideas. His speeches of later time shows similar attitude of the composer to many musical problems, despite these speeches were made almost half a century after his early interview. They describe quite strange situation when the composer’s text, while saying almost nothing about the objects of its criticism, shows fi rst of all Sylvestrov’s own evolution from “soft” avant-garde of the early 1960s to the specifi c and extremely individual stylistics that combines radical and quasiconservative features. This combination in itself is quite unusual both in avant-garde and conventional styles, and proves lyrical nature of his artistic personality, as well as some favorite subjects typical of him both now and half century ago. Composer’s letters show the mental condition of the author in a certain period of his/her life and creative evolution. They give exact information on facts, events, dates, etc., so in this aspect they are irreplaceable. Certain words and a way of description used by an author – and also what he/she omits – directly shape the artist’s nature. It is important to take into account that we do not have to deal with absolute truth but subjective interpretation which may contain (apart the trustworthy details) exaggeration, misunderstanding and wrong conclusions. These very deviations add new features to the artistic “portrait” and may explain the reason this or that feature appears in a musical work. Analysis and even reading composer’s (and any other) letters raise some moral problems. Usually letters are addressed to a certain person or an institution and not intended to be seen by anybody else. We cannot know whether the author would be happy if he/she would know his/her letters are published. Only in the case of a publication during the author’s life this problem may be totally fi xed, as the author’s agreement to such publication seems to be mandatory. While artist’s letters are usually not intended for publication, an interview or dialogues of the artist with “authorized person”, as well as autobiography, an article or memoirs are always created for the public, so the “master” depicts himself in accordance with the way he/she wants the others see and treated him/her. While the literature knows classical example of this genre back from the early 19th century (we mean the wellknown Peter Eckermann’s Conversations with Goethe), the composers start to regularly produce similar texts much later in the 20th century. Despite the technical and aesthetical progress of the 20th century culture stimulated the musicians to create texts, they did not became the obligatory (sometimes because of personal reason). While almost all more or less known musicians gave an interview and created brief speeches on various occasion, just a part of them left the dialogues with extended explanation of the composer’s views on various problems and facts of the art and life. The model example of such texts are the Dialogues if Igor Stravinsky with Robert Craft. Later other outstanding musicians followed them, exactly Jannis Xenakis, Olivier Messiaen, Witold Lutoslawski, Alfred Schnittke and Edison Denisov among the mostly known. Another kind of the author’s word to be widely circulated is an author’s annotation or commentary to the piece. Such a commentary written for a concert leafl et or a festival (LP, CD) booklet is always expected by the recipients, so it plays an exceptional role in understanding the new work and may help to promote it or, in unlucky case, prevent its success. The results of the research prove the importance of the composer’s text for understanding his/her music. Although being a sort of paradox, such texts may show the shortest way to fi nd secret senses and codes of music. so we conclude the literal texts gradually become an integral part of the composer’s work and composer’s life.

Abstract:
Recently the concept of multilingualism has become a defining approach to the problem of language learning. Multilingualism occurs as an individual's language experience, expands culturally from the language used in the family to the language used in society, and then to the acquisition of languages of other peoples. The individual does not “keep” these languages and cultures separate from each other, but forms a communicative competence based on all knowledge and all language experience, where languages are interconnected and interact with one another. One of the most important approaches to both bilingual and multilingual education is, in our opinion, the study of psycholinguistic and neuro-linguistic mechanisms of bilingualism and multilingualism formation. The peculiarity of the language situation of the Republic of Kazakhstan is the presence of bilingualism, which occured in the country as a natural process in a multinational state. However each region of the country has its own specifics in terms of language. In this regard, there is a need for a regional approach to the study of the language situation in the Republic of Kazakhstan. It is worth noting that the definition of the role and place of Russian language in teaching a foreign language in the context of multilingualism is insufficiently studied. Russian language is not only a universal means of communication generally accepted in the Republic of Kazakhstan, but also the main means of knowledge of sciences and support in learning a foreign language. Linguistic situation of foreign language teaching in multilingual environment in many respects differs from the linguistic situation of learning a foreign language in a monolingual audience.

AbstractOutcome following the treatment of congenital heart disease continues to improve and interest has focused on reducing morbidity as well as mortality. One important aspect of this is the psychological effect of congenital heart disease and its treatment on both children and their parents. This review addresses the extent and nature of the psychological morbidity associated with this disease, in particular the impact of the diagnosis on the management of patient and family. The etiology of the high level of psychosocial morbidity remains poorly understood. Data from the 1960s concerned with pre-school and school-age children is now of little value given the dramatic changes in the treatment of congenital heart disease, which is now predominantly in the neonatal period. While theory from developmental and pediatric psychology may be usefully applied to this area, further research is required to define effective psychological care for patients and their families.

Abstract:
The text is an attempt to present possible dialogical connections between works of literature and visual arts as an expression of the building up aspiration of the creative spirit to give rise to ideas ,by constructing the universe in fictional worlds. Such dialogue is far from utilitarian and bears the traces of artistic freedom; it is a kind of a play and provocation because it handles artifacts in which spiritual experience has crystallized, knowledge is preserved, and the coordinate system of values characterizing periods or communities is outlined. Although recreated through a different type of expression, a different articulation of meaning - verbal or non-verbal, they are manifestations of a worldview and moral convictions and fulfillment of aesthetic views - the author shows subjectivism regarding the choice of life material, regarding the scheme of its organization, the way its interpretation and the degree of distance from reality. In this sense, the analytical observations on works of literature and fine arts can be based on similar tendencies, related to the prerequisites for their emergence, the influence of sociocultural factors, and the distinction of imaginative, ideological, thematic and stylistic parallels. The characteristics are even more clarified in the contact zone of the two arts.Attention is drawn to icon and illustration, which are to some extent interconnected because, despite their iconographic, stylistic and printing differences, they can be defined as a plastic narrative. They are similar due to the presence of stylization and decorativeness in the image. Their aesthetic nature and social function are a kind of projection of the ideological and artistic tendencies in the spiritual pursuits of the community and the understanding of the role of the creative personality in the cultural and social life.Their juxtaposition with literary texts is conditioned by the possible thematic, ideological, figuratively-emotional and stylistic parallels, which are the basis of the functionality of similar psychological preconditions that determine their creation, as well as of similar aesthetic categories and social tasks to which the authors are subject. In such a view, the unique in both arts is more clearly distinguished, but at the same time, through the different languages, the “spirit of time” in its sociocultural condition is more fully reconstructed. The dialogue between works of literature and fine arts outlines a cultural field in which parallel worlds intersect. The various aspects of the relationship between them are examined - conflicting or complementary, with an emphasis on the idea of their mutual transformation or their clear separation. It is a communication in which meaning penetrates and dissolves into other cultural fields, overcomes limitations and generates additional nuances when it comes to ideas and emotions. The dynamics of their encounter, overlay, transformation or complementarity contribute to create a panoramic picture of the spiritual life over a period of time, to trace cultural interactions and to clarify the specifics of a work of art as an artifact.

This paper deals with the analysis of noise music by the Japanese artist Merz-bow, especially emphasizing the posthumanistic ethical and aesthetical paradigm as his artistic and political project. This project, or assemblage, has several aspects, three being particularly important: "musical" system (acoustic material, creator, listener), visual and textual material (album covers, articles and interviews), and the attitude towards the non-human (machines, animals, nature in general). These three aspects are a particular assemblage that enables the critique of the "everyday body" and the contemporary society, by creating special aesthetics of existence and lines of flight, an aesthetics which, ultimately, removes the human subject and replaces it with an (in)organic multiplicity.

The American roundabout is dominated by pragmatic engineering-based literature that emphasizes safety, geometry, cost, energy use, aesthetics, and the mediation of congestion. We, however, propose that the roundabout is a tool for a change in political and social practice in how it promotes a shift in users’ behavior and opens up possibilities for subverting aspects of the automobility discourse. In demonstrating how infrastructure facilitates this change in practice, our research reveals that subtle alterations to the powerful American ideals of individuality, mobility, and freedom occur inside and outside of the roundabout—an unconventional public space. Using aspects of performance theory from the work of Judith Butler, we suggest that these alterations in practice have the potential, over time, to undermine this discourse.

Subject area Sustainable fashion. Study level/applicability Bachelor Degree/Master Degree, Master of Business Administration (MBA), PhD. Case overview The case focuses on Osklen, one of the world’s first eco-fashion brands, founded in 1989 by Oskar Metsavaht. For the past 26 years, Osklen had become Brazil’s foremost sustainable luxury venture, and since 2012, under first minority and then majority corporate ownership, pursued an aggressive global expansion strategy. The dilemma of the case juxtaposes Osklen’s creative aesthetics, which leverage unique Brazilian beauty in nature and heritage, with the financial pressures of global expansion. The tension is exacerbated by the 2015 corruption scandal, which decelerated the Brazilian economy and reduced consumer spending on sustainable luxuries in Osklen’s home market; it also risked compromising the appeal of Brazilian brands elsewhere. The case explores the complex interconnections between local and global aspects of sustainability and brings forward the environmental, social and cultural aspects of brands and business to the foreground. The case also illustrates how economic crises impact brands from the initial creative inspiration to the prospects of global expansion. Expected learning outcomes Students will master tools for strategic analysis (VRIN framework and scenario planning) to a company evolving in an emerging economy. They will learn about the ways to consider and communicate sustainability. Students will be exposed to the importance of aesthetics and multi-sensoriality in business activities. Subject. The results of a number of modern psychological and sociological studies indicate that a person’s appearance can have a very strong and direct influence on the perception of a person by other people, as well as his self-perception and self-esteem. Currently, one of the generally accepted criteria for beauty, health and success of a person is a white-toothed smile. Therefore, it is completely natural that tooth whitening is currently acquiring significant significance not only in terms of aesthetics, but also social success. The goal is to study the need for treatment of dental discoloritis in people of different ages. Methodology. The data of the annual reports of Reaviz Medical University (Samara) for the period from 2017 to 2019 were studied. The results were subjected to statistical processing. Results. The need for the treatment of dental discoloritis is very high in the group of people from 21 to 26 years old, both men and women. The turnover of this contingent for the purpose of teeth whitening is constantly increasing. This is quite natural, since it is precisely at a young age that the value of the aesthetics of a smile is especially great. Conclusions. There is a need to search and develop new methods, tools and methods for treating dental discolorites, combining high efficiency and safety in order to use them in young patients and increase satisfaction with the quality of dental care. In addition, the results obtained should be taken into account when developing marketing activities for dental services, as well as for teeth whitening.

Particular attention is paid to such concepts as team, leader, personality, as well as to psychological characteristics that emphasize the exceptional role of a leader in staff selection. It was found that the psychological component occupies a very important place in the team concept. Moreover, it plays a dominant role, both in terms of staff selection and team functioning. A team, as a modern form of social organization, embodies various psychological potential for its further expression. In some cases, positive psychological atmosphere can be an effective positive mechanism for society functioning. Abstract:
Abstract The 18th-century notion of the picturesque is somewhat lesser known as compared to the more celebrated categories of the beautiful and the sublime, even though it may not only help us critically reflect upon modern perceptions of the landscape, but it may also provide us a unique way to link the field of aesthetic speculation with questions of technology and economy. The article will focus on two of the major theoreticians of the picturesque (William Gilpin and Uvedale Price) and will examine their ideas in relation to Edmund Burke’s aesthetics on the one hand, and contemporary tendencies in landscape gardening (as represented by Lancelot “Capability” Brown and Humphry Repton) on the other. Such an investigation may shed light on the multiple shifts in the perception of nature and the sense of naturalness during the long 18th century, as well as on the pictorial and theatrical aspects of landscape design. But examples of the Claude glass, the ha-ha, and Humphry Repton’s Red Books may also indicate the role of technological innovations and economic interests, and thereby the relevancy of the very discourse of the picturesque to more modern or even postmodern artistic, cultural, and medial developments.

Abstract:
A considerable number of empirical studies argue that economics experts differ from other groups with respect to their public policy preferences and their behavior in certain social dilemmas. Economists are more likely to regard allocation via markets as “fair” than other people and they seem to adjust their behavior and expectations to the actor-model presumed in the elementary neoclassical theory. Some trace back such observations to influences related to the economics education. An alternative view is that economics attracts individuals with preferences that differ from those of non-economists. While the literature on the matter is growing, a comprehensive picture of the nature and sources of the differences has not yet emerged. This article reviews research based on the survey, experimental, and field evidence collected since 1990 to detect, characterize, and explain the differences. It points at some problems inherent to the methodology that dominates the existing research. Primarily, it directs attention to some psychological and social-psychological aspects of training and socializing economists that have not found adequate recognition so far, but should be considered, to better understand the phenomena in question.

Theoretical analysis was applied to study classic and modern scientific works on the nature of the phenomenon of knowledge and its formation. Comparative analysis of the latest publications on this topic revealed that actual pedagogical approaches stated the importance of learners’ active participation in the interactions and interrelations within the system of the learning process and the relevance of the socio-cultural context of new knowledge presentation. Pedagogical observation and expert evaluation enabled authors’ exploring Generation Z students’ cognitive modes and psychological background, featured by practically oriented motivation, clip thinking, ability for multitasking, prevailing unvoluntary attention and weak memorization, preference for visual presentation of information. Theoretical synthesis and compilation implementation enabled working out practical recommendations for intensifying the process of knowledge formation of Generation Z students. The outcomes of the study were used to modernize an e-course “Methods of Teaching in Higher Education Institutions”, so that it met contemporary demands.

Abstract:
The article examines the socio-economic, socio-cultural and epistemological reasons of actualization of research interest to the humanitarian aspects of health and well-being. It analyzes the main theoretical models of psychological health arising from the recognition of the determining influence of social factors and the importance of cultural determinants in the analysis of the humanitarian aspects of health; particular attention is paid to the modern status of a special area of knowledge of health psychology. There are three main levels of factors affecting psychological health and subjective well-being: 1) macro, which includes a number of objective and subjective indicators (the level of economic development of the region, and subjective economic well-being of the population; the level of social protection of the population and its subjective evaluation, etc.); 2) social-psychological, among which the structural and dynamic features of social networks, the stylistic characteristics of the communication opportunities of social support; 3) the personality, including resilience, the nature of self, dominant emotional state, the characteristics of personal and social identity. It is emphasized that although among the criteria of psychological health of particular importance is the degree of integration of the personality and its focus on self-development, the nature of psychological health is closely linked to socio-psychological aspects of human existence: a harmonious integration in the society, successful socialization, the presence of strong social ties and social support are integral to psychological health.

Abstract:
Bridge aesthetics, an area of great interest to engineers, is recognized as a difficult area to research because of its subjective nature and ill-defined concepts. An innovative computational decision support tool for use in bridge aesthetics is described. The system contains a knowledge base created by using an extensive literature survey and by completing in-depth knowledge elicitation from leading bridge designers in the United Kingdom and with the support of the Department of Transport. To further validate the knowledge base, the rules elicited from the designers were tested against public opinion through a series of questionnaires. This procedure enabled the construction of a knowledge base that supports many aspects of aesthetics for small- to medium-sized span road bridges. This limited domain was chosen because this form of bridge is currently the most commonly constructed in Britain, yet generally receives little attention in terms of aesthetics because of time and economic constraints. The knowledge base has been incorporated into a system aimed at providing interactive advice on comparative bridge design. The system was developed in Visual C + + to run on a personal computer and to operate in a Windows environment. It is currently undergoing prolonged evaluation in practicing bridge design offices. To date, this evaluation has shown that engineers like the system and would find it useful. Therefore, commercial exploitation is currently being explored. The comments received during the evaluation are also being used to further tailor the system to suit practicing engineers' needs.

Abstract:
Introduction. The article deals with the study of theoretical and methodological foundations of ethno-aesthetics as a “cultural code” of an ethnos through a systematic approach to solving the problem of the ratio of ethno-culture and ethno-aesthetics. The aim of the study is a philosophical analysis of ethno-aesthetics to determine the semantic potential of the symbolic capital of ethnic culture. Materials and Methods. The logic of the research, ascending from the abstract (definition of ethno-aesthetics) to the exact (ethno-futurism), is based on a systemic approach. It distinguishes the following methods: dialectical (ethno-aesthetics at the level of the singular, particular and universal), comparative-historical (transformation of ethno-aesthetic values); structural and functional (ethno-aesthetics as an open system of aesthetic values that serve as “markers” of ethnic originality). Results and Discussion. The author denotes the theoretical and methodological aspects of ethno-aesthetics in the modern conditions of being of an ethnos: ethno-aesthetic values, aesthetic ontology of ethnos, expression in ethno-aesthetics of the “spirit of a people”. In the ethnic world-picture the expression of the concept “spirit of the people” allows to highlight the levels of ethno-aesthetics in ethnoculture: substantial (aesthetic consciousness, aesthetic values that reflect/express the “spirit of a people”); functional-historical (transforming system of aesthetic relations and aesthetic experience of an ethnos). The author notes the relationship of ethno-aesthetic values with mentality, the “spirit of a people”, the deep layers of ethnic consciousness (traditions, rites, beliefs, mythological representations, archetypes), art as a system of creating symbolic images. The dialectics of single, special and universal with regard to aesthetic values distinguishes ethno-aesthetics as the level of being of special, which at the same time combines (values and creative potential of an ethnos in world exploration) and determines the specifics of understanding and interpretation by an ethnos the basic values (the beautiful, the tragic, the comic, etc.) and its fixation in the language. The source of aesthetic ontology is the experiencing by an ethnos life, nature, labour, creativity, which have creative and harmonizing potential. Conclusion. The author interprets ethno-aesthetics as an integral part of aesthetics, which creates a philosophical theory of an ethnos aesthetic relationship to the world (nature, art, labour), reflects the process of formation and development of aesthetic sensuality and aesthetic consciousness, the value of the world.

Abstract:
Background: Several authors have focused on the aesthetics of nursing care from diverse perspectives; however, there are few studies about the sublime and the beautiful in nursing. Aim: To identify beautiful and sublime moments in the context of the aesthetics of nursing care. Methods: A theoretical reflection has been contemplated about sublime and beautiful values in the context of the aesthetics of nursing care from the cultural history perspective. For that purpose, a revision of this issue has been completed. The terms ‘beautiful’ and ‘sublime’ have been analysed to identify the characteristics of both in the context of nursing care. Ethical consideration: We have followed all ethical requirements regarding the sources, conducting research and authorship. There is no conflict of interest in this paper. Results: With aesthetic knowledge, the nurse expresses the artistic nature of nursing care by appreciating the act of caring for individuals. The sublime is a complex phenomenon, since apparently contrary feelings are interwoven. Nursing care is an art with an anthropological object-subject on which the ‘artist’ applies their prior knowledge and skills. Feelings and emotions that develop during the clinical nursing practice – especially at times sublime and beautiful, aesthetic – constitute experiences which are professionally significant.

Abstract:
Adolescent drug addiction in Ukraine is a serious problem that requires proper attention and evaluation from modern society. Timely public reaction to this issue determines the methods of its solution and ways to prevent adolescent drug addiction in Ukraine in the future. The urgency of the subject matter is determined by the danger of drug addiction among Ukrainian adolescents and the lack of attention paid by parents to the study of this problem and the lack of proper attention to this issue in most Ukrainian schools. Prospects for research in this area are determined by the need to identify the main social and psychological aspects that motivate modern Ukrainian adolescents to use drugs. This will allow to redirect the situation and create conditions to prevent a situation in society where drug use by Ukrainian adolescents would be possible. The purpose of the paper is to identify the dominant psychological and social factors that motivate adolescents to start using drugs. The main research method is the method of analysis, which was used to comprehensively consider and describe the factors that push young people to use drugs, despite the obvious threat to their health and life. Authors consider issues of social and psychological aspects of adolescent drug addiction, problems of relations in society and families where adolescents begin to use drugs. The study covers the types of family relations and the nature of intrafamily relations, in which adolescents start using drugs. The main social and psychological factors that push modern young people to take drugs are identified. The practical value of the study in this area is to identify and state opportunities to create methods to combat adolescent drug addiction and the complete elimination of the harmful effects of drugs on modern Ukrainian schoolchildren.

Abstract:
Introduction. At present, psychotherapeutic practices based on theological and philosophical ideas about the human logos nature have become widespread. The human logos nature is not only expressed in the human ability to make articulated speech, but also in common characteristic for homo sapiens occupation – search for meaning in life and meaning of various events and situations, in which an individual finds himself or herself, and, the acts, which he or she performs. Similar types of psychotherapy include logotherapy, some types of cognitive-behavioural therapy and the methodology of the Russian teacher S. A. Rachinsky. These methods and practices can be called psycho-pedagogical and, also, can be considered as a separate area of pedagogy, because unlike classical psychological practices (often practicing ethical relativism), they recognise and promote traditional moral and spiritual values of Christianity. The aim of the present article is to consider attitudinal grounds and content characteristics of psychological practices based on religious and philosophical ideas about the human logos nature, from a pedagogical point of view, as the task of education and self-education.Methodology and research methods. The theoretical framework of the research was based on the explified philosophical and theological doctrines, as well as on academic writings of V. Frankl (founder of logotherapy) and M. Scheler (founder of philosophical anthropology). The empirical base consists of the materials of available documents and published sources of information, as well as of the materials obtained in the course of surveys and unformalised interviews with teachers and psychologists practicing church-psychological methods for the healing of psycho-somatic disorders and the correction of behavioural patterns. The collected and summarised information was processed by the methods of philosophical and anthropological analysis. Results and scientific novelty. For the first time, an attempt was made to describe and analyse the methods of psychological-corrective work and spiritual-moral education, representing a synthesis of psychological practices, Christian value-ideological and theological concepts. The particular examples of effective implementation of these methods are described: the school of cognitive-behavioural therapy in Vladivostok, organised by Archpriest Rostislav Moroz; the technique to heal stuttering according to the method of S. A. Rachinsky, innovatively applied by Hieromonk Ioannes (Zayats) in Kamchatka. The main result of the study is the identification of modern aspects for improving psycho-pedagogical methods in church-theological reception.Practical significance. The authors’ conclusions and research materials on modern methods of psychological correction of behavioural and psychophysiological disorders can be used when developing and designing the courses of cognitivebehavioural therapy, treatment of stuttering, in practical psycho-educational support and social work.

Abstract:
Religious beliefs from the perspectiveb of Japanese aesthetics: Mushishi by Yuki UrushibaraThe Japanese culture is often portrayed as unique, in particular when compared to broadly-understood Western culture. It is important to notice, however, that the main trait of the Japanese culture is its openness towards outside influences and the ability to modify them to fit better with the Japanese system of values. The same could be applied to the Japanese aesthetics, which concernsm various aspects of life, not only the ones that would be described as art in Western culture. The contemporary Japanese culture and the aesthetics along with it is occasionally a combination of tradition and modern ideas; the works of popular culture, which includes comics and animation, may hold the most interesting cases in that regard. This article describes the issues of the Japanese aesthetics in Mushishi, a comic book by Yuki Urushibara. The author, while inspired by the classical works of Japanese literature and legendary tales, presents her own stories, in which the primary aesthetic value is the harmony between human and nature, sometimes represented by the supernatural beings known as mushi.
