Abstract:
The authors draw attention to the issue of gender differences in the features of the subjective experience of happiness and unhappiness. The article describes the results of a study conducted with clients of psychologists who report problems related to the experience of destructive interpersonal relationships and consider themselves deeply unhappy in life. The purpose of the study is to reveal the gender specificity of the frustration of the subjects’ life needs underlying the deep experience of unhappiness in their lives. A peculiarity of the approach used by the authors is the consideration of issues of psychological nature in the context of philosophical and religious understanding of eternal values, such as happiness and love for one’s neighbor. A special focus of the authors’ attention is the problems related to the philosophical and religious basis of consideration of the feminine as Sophia the Wisdom of God with the complex of her rejection, the dominant sense of guilt, and the desire to return to the Father. Such methodological symbiosis is facilitated by interdisciplinarity as one of the main principles of the authors’ interaction with the materials of this work. The Thematic Apperception Test (TAT) aimed at the amplification of subjects’ unconscious intentions is used as a diagnostic instrument. The conducted psychological study allows to reveal and describe some of the causes for the manifestation and experience of happiness and unhappiness in the lives of modern men and women and show specific differences between their subjective experiences of happiness and unhappiness in their lives. Unlike previous studies of this kind, the deployed philosophical and religious studies approach provides an opportunity to take a new look at the outlined issues considering them from the point of the philosophical context of values.

Abstract:
This study examines the peripheral area of Sufistic reasoning, where modern humans lose their orientation and cause a psychological crisis—through a fundamental philosophical assessment of the weltanschauung as the axis of Sufism spirituality in Islam, focusing on the contemporary perspective of modern society and the construct of Scientia sacra as the weltanschauung of contemporary Muslim spirituality. The study results confirm that the fundamental problem that represents the relationship between spirituality and modern society is the dualism of the ontology-epistemic framework, as a result of the split understanding between Sufism and its pseudo. The Sufis have built the concept of Scientia sacra based on the integration of theosophical reasoning, ascetic praxis, and philosophical nature. This concept is expected to present conceptual-praxis activities described as exclusive mujahadah , trendy, and introvertistic that “catharsis” themselves from the worldly bustle but have communal, philosophical values closely related to the values rahmat al-khalq. The philosophical basis of this movement originated from theosophical reasoning, transformed into praxis asceticism, and developed as philosophical asceticism. These three elements come from the key statement that Sufism is an existential axis for humans, where the crisis of modern humans is the centrifugal motion of that axis. It is what causes the philosophical values in Sufistic teachings to experience turmoil, ending in a cathartic process towards Scientia sacra as the basis of knowledge, metaphysics, and esotericism.

Bogomilova, Nonka. "A philosophical approach to the 'religion - national mythology' synthesis." Filozofija i drustvo 20, no. 3 (2009): 83–96. http://dx.doi.org/10.2298/fid0903083b.

Abstract:
The paper analyses the philosophical aspects of the 'religion - national mythology' synthesis. The main directions of the study are as follows: 1. Both on the individual and social plan, the orientation of the transcending universalizing power of religion could vary depending on the macro-social movements a community /or an individual/ is involved in. For the individual as for the community, religion could be a cultural position transcending ego and ethno-centrism, mono-cultural tendencies; in situations of internal differentiation and disintegration of these entities, the universalizing binding role of religion is partialized and determined by various social groups, who are often in opposition to each other due to their economic political, ethnic, psychological features; 2. This process is usually related to the invalidation of universally uniting religious-moral bonds and values and intensification of differences: power, property, doctrinal differences to a shift of the weight center from internal spiritual movements /particularly typical of mysticism, asceticism, priesthood/ on to practical social action - reformist heresies, the various practical theologies of revolution, liberation, the religious-motivated wars; 3. When reduced to an ethnic, political, or state emblem, religious affiliation to Judaism, Islam Orthodoxy, Catholicism, Protestantism has become and still remain a tool for the sacralization of military and political conflicts. In religion-motivated conflict situations, opposing parties de-sacralize their Sacred Books as their acts contradict the books' moral content; 4. The power of historical mythologies is in reverse proportion to the capacity of a nation to periodically renew its social life world - its psychological attitudes labour relations, political stereotypes; 5. In this type of situation religion is usually reduced to 'belonging', as G. Davie put it, at the expense of 'believing' and a corresponding moral behavior. The religious universe becomes thus subordinated to partial group values, instead of standing above them.

Abstract:
AbstractI examine the Aristotelean conception of virtuous character as firm and unchangeable, a normative ideal endorsed in the currently influential, broadly Aristotelean school of thought known as 'virtue ethics'. Drawing on central concepts of Aristotle's Nicomachean Ethics, I offer an account of how this ideal is supposed to be realized psychologically. I then consider present-day empirical findings about relevant psychological processes, with special attention to interpersonal processes. The empirical evidence suggests that over time, the same interpersonal processes that sometimes help to sustain character may also disrupt it, even among agents who have the right values in principle. Fortunately, the evidence also suggests some remedial measures. An important philosophical measure, I conclude, is for advocates of virtue ethics to address agents' psychological need for a systematic decision procedure that will focus attention primarily on substantive ethical considerations, rather than characterological assessment.

Abstract:
Liberal-democratic states’ commitments to equality and personal autonomy have always proven problematic with respect to state regulation of relations between parents and children. In the parental authority literature, positions have varied from invoking children’s interests to argue for limitations on parental efforts to instil identities and values to invoking parental rights to justify state privileging of such efforts. This article argues that liberal-democratic states should privilege parental efforts to raise their children to share their identities and values. Its approach is distinctive in two ways: (1) it engages in interdisciplinary reflection upon selected findings in psychological literature on immigrant youth, acculturation and identity development to assess philosophical arguments about parental authority; and (2) it argues that children’s, and not parental, interests should be viewed as the primary basis for parental rights to instil identities and values. Ultimately, the article argues, parental authority to instil identities and values is justified by children’s interests in psychological wellbeing and personal autonomy.

Unfavorable forecasts of environmental scientists regarding environmental changes actualize the problem of environmental values importance in the process of children upbringing. The article theoretically substantiates that emotions caused by perception of ecological situations of their region leave unconscious "imprints" in the child's life and therefore can serve as a psychological foundation for the formation of these values in primary school children. For children of primary school age, when they assess environmental situations, circumstances, events they encounter in their lives, the emotional reaction often outstrips the cognitive one, reflects the personal meaning, value attitude of a child towards them. The aim of the article is to study the emotional component of primary school children’ value attitude to the ecological situation of his region in order to introduce core value of "ecological safety" into his/her system of values. The study was based on the analysis of philosophical, psychological and pedagogical literary sources, testing, interviewing primary school children and pedagogical experiment.Managing the emotional development of primary schoolchildren can significantly change their value attitude to nature. Under conditions of the experiment, 61% of children began to realize their need for vigorous activity, and 17% of junior schoolchildren became psychologically ready for joint environmental protection activities.

Abstract:
Introduction. At present, psychotherapeutic practices based on theological and philosophical ideas about the human logos nature have become widespread. The human logos nature is not only expressed in the human ability to make articulated speech, but also in common characteristic for homo sapiens occupation – search for meaning in life and meaning of various events and situations, in which an individual finds himself or herself, and, the acts, which he or she performs. Similar types of psychotherapy include logotherapy, some types of cognitive-behavioural therapy and the methodology of the Russian teacher S. A. Rachinsky. These methods and practices can be called psycho-pedagogical and, also, can be considered as a separate area of pedagogy, because unlike classical psychological practices (often practicing ethical relativism), they recognise and promote traditional moral and spiritual values of Christianity. The aim of the present article is to consider attitudinal grounds and content characteristics of psychological practices based on religious and philosophical ideas about the human logos nature, from a pedagogical point of view, as the task of education and self-education.Methodology and research methods. The theoretical framework of the research was based on the explified philosophical and theological doctrines, as well as on academic writings of V. Frankl (founder of logotherapy) and M. Scheler (founder of philosophical anthropology). The empirical base consists of the materials of available documents and published sources of information, as well as of the materials obtained in the course of surveys and unformalised interviews with teachers and psychologists practicing church-psychological methods for the healing of psycho-somatic disorders and the correction of behavioural patterns. The collected and summarised information was processed by the methods of philosophical and anthropological analysis. Results and scientific novelty. For the first time, an attempt was made to describe and analyse the methods of psychological-corrective work and spiritual-moral education, representing a synthesis of psychological practices, Christian value-ideological and theological concepts. The particular examples of effective implementation of these methods are described: the school of cognitive-behavioural therapy in Vladivostok, organised by Archpriest Rostislav Moroz; the technique to heal stuttering according to the method of S. A. Rachinsky, innovatively applied by Hieromonk Ioannes (Zayats) in Kamchatka. The main result of the study is the identification of modern aspects for improving psycho-pedagogical methods in church-theological reception.Practical significance. The authors’ conclusions and research materials on modern methods of psychological correction of behavioural and psychophysiological disorders can be used when developing and designing the courses of cognitivebehavioural therapy, treatment of stuttering, in practical psycho-educational support and social work.

Thus, the globalization process in the world raises the problem of spiritual values and creates the need for scientific-philosophical analysis of social-spiritual aspects of free society building. It should be noted that the spiritual world of the Azerbaijani people, which has repeatedly encountered the trials of the history with an interesting and rich history in the crossroads of different religions and cultures, has emerged, formed and developed on a rich foundation, grown into its national-psychological trajectory. Abstract:
This paper critically examines the philosophical foundations of Colin Wilson’s New Existentialism. I will show how Wilson’s writings promoted a phenomenological strategy for understanding states of ecstatic affirmation within so-called ‘peak experiences’. Wilson subsequently attempted to use the life affirming insights bestowed by peak states to establish an ontological ground for values to serve as a foundation for his New Existentialism. Because of its psychological focus however, I argue that Wilson’s New Existentialism contains an ambivalent framework for establishing ontological categories, which leads his thought into theoretical difficulties. More precisely, Wilson’s strategy runs into problems in coherently integrating its explicitly psychological interpretation of Husserl’s theory of intentionality within a broader, and philosophically coherent, phenomenological framework. Wilson’s psychological reading of Husserl’s transcendental reduction, for example, manifests tensions in how it reconciles the empirical basis of acts of transcendence with an essentialist conception of the self as a transcendental ego. The above tensions, I argue, ultimately render the New Existentialism susceptible to criticism from a Husserlian-transcendental perspective. After outlining a Husserlian critique of Wilson’s position, I end the paper by suggesting how some of the central insights of the New Existentialism might help to bridge the gap that persists between pure phenomenological description and metaphysics.

The importance and timeliness of the topic of the International Christmas Educational Readings in 2019 "Youth: Freedom and Responsibility" is obvious and significant. This should be especially noted in the context of complex socio-political, economic, spiritual, moral and ethical relations of the modern world, the main potential resource of which is youth. Socio-psychological, civil formation of the younger generation has historically always been fraught with serious difficulties, and now the problems of a psychological, moral and ethical nature have been aggravated by the intensification of a hostile information policy directed against Russia, the traditional national values of the national culture. Contradictions and the increasing aggressiveness of the information space often prevent young people from understanding the current events and impede the process of social and political socialization of young people. This phenomenon, which is legitimately described as an open ideological intervention. It is difficult, first of all, to oppose the most psychologically vulnerable contingent - youth and youth - but perhaps with the consolidated efforts of representatives of the humanitarian educational sphere. A significant role in shaping public consciousness belongs to the content of all areas of educational and pedagogical activity, thanks to which youth policy becomes an essential component of both the socio-demographic policy of the state and the value vector of its ideological development.

Abstract:
Peace on earth is not to be expected. First, at least in its subhuman form, the law of nature is survival of the fittest, not self-deferential cooperation. Second, a philosophical consensus to provide needed epistemological agreement and ethical criteria for peace is nonexistent in the postmodern world. Third, conflicting beliefs among the world’s religions and a sharp decline in religious affiliation incapacitate the traditional agencies of support for transcendent values, including peace. Thus, the daunting challenge has become the nonreligious and even nontheological spiritualization of secular society. Only this hope remains as history forces humanity to mature: Elaborate and rely on a humanistic basis for lofty values. In evocative terms, philosophers and humanistic psychologists have narrated that hope. More incisively, Bernard Lonergan has detailed the humanistic basis of that hope: distinctively human consciousness or spirit, the self-transcending dimension of the human mind, a bimodal, quadrilevel, epistemologically and ethically normative dynamism. But no agency exists to implement this hope, and peace still, depends ultimately on elusive human goodwill. Still the empirical specification of a philosophical foundation at least provides needed guidance, which, coupled with today’s scientific, medical, psychological, and sociological technology, does sustain hope for peace.

Abstract:
The article substantiates the possibility of´socio- humanitarian assessment of political processes in the context of philosophical and culturological discourse. The authors advance a conception of socio-humanitarian study which in its turn is constituted by the principles of humanitarian assessment based on the objective-ontological comprehension of morality. Moral evaluations, values and regulations are considered in the context of "archetype " concept and involving the theory of historical-cultural interpretation of the nature of social consciousness. According to this, it is the authors´ opinion that the most appropriate methodological approach to the humanitarian assessment is the approach that is based on the comprehension of the archetypal nature of all fundamental moral values that underlie the humanitarian assessment. According to the opinion of the authors, the proposed conception of the socio-humanitarian study can serve as an alternative to the western liberal paradigm of assessment of sociocultural and political phenomena, based on the principles of the international law and unified panhuman values. The feature of the proposed conception is that it takes into account, on the one hand, the so-called "common human values" on which is based the existence of the civilization, on the other hand — the peculiarity of a certain sociocultural commonality expressed in spiritual, cultural and psychologicalphenomena of´nation´s, people´s andcountry´s life. At the same time, both are derived from archetypal cultural and psychological universals. So, archetypes — transcultural and overindividual matrices, thinking, sense and meaning patterns, peculiar regulations of consciousness activity — serve as conceptual meaning of values which, according to the authors, underlie the socio-humanitarian assessment. The collective unconscious keeps cultural models, mythological and religious images. Acting in this manner in human consciousness, it represents a structure which is responsible for moral evaluation, as long as any evaluation as well as norms of behavior and activity are embedded at the pre- (or super-) reflective level of both individual and collective consciousness.

Abstract:
The range of research on value issues is quite wide today. The transition from understanding values as a philosophical category to a psychological interpretation of the nature of values has led to the emergence of many trends and psychological concepts of value problems. In this study, we will reveal the main modern views of researchers on the essence of the value-semantic matrix of both an individual and the entire world community. The modern socio-economic situation in the world is characterized by an almost permanent crisis state both in the social, and in the spiritual, cultural sphere, which is due to the existence of the consequences of the epidemic situation in the world. Based on this, the problem of teaching the dynamics of the value-semantic matrix, its development and changes under the influence of personality crises of various origins, both external ones caused by the social situation in the country, the impact of new information technologies, and internal ones, caused by growing up, growth, psychological development personality in time and space. Abstract:
The paper presents an essay of a compact system of philosophical ethics, based on the psychological and phenomenological penetration into the structure of human values. Continuing the tradition of the rationalist philosophy of the Lviv-Warsaw School, the author makes methodological distinctions: description, evaluation, norms and requirements – and also considers the problem of psychological pressure. Unlike the traditional style of ethical treatises, the author strictly distinguishes the description as the basis of the scientific text, description and evaluation – as ethical and description, assessment and pressure – as pedagogical or propagandistic, choosing a purely ethical style of presentation, limited description and evaluation. For registration the author chooses the so-called “Auto-titel” values, and also takes into account the connection between the sense of value and the sense of its absence (needs), which is one of the principles of registration. Classification of values is carried out on the principle of their division into the values of the living room and spiritual values. To her, the author adds a classification of values according to human sensitivity, dividing them into the values of their own structure, connections with other people and connections with non-human environment. In the context of the submitted rationalist system of ethics, the author discusses the problem of idealism, realism and utilitarianism, as well as the significance of symbolic thinking, which is expressed in the form of so-called “Resolutions”. Based on the classifications made, the author formulates the main hierarchical law and examines specific situations that illustrate his observance and violation (for example, situations of overcoming the welcome positions and the situation of the devaluation of spiritual values), and also formulates a series of so-called “Situational rules” of morally good (ethical) behavior. Abstract:
Drèze and Sen are not entirely right in their apparent glorification of the roles of nongovernmental organizations in Bangladesh in An Uncertain Glory: India and Its Contradictions because they leave out and/or de-emphasize some important issues, especially those that are related to the problematic trusting relationship between nongovernmental organizations in Bangladesh and rural poor women. Nongovernmental organizations’ use of trust disturbs social solidarity in rural Bangladesh mainly because of their massive supervision mechanism that they undertake to sustain the so-called trusting relationship between them and their debtors. The massive supervision mechanism damages social solidarity also because it creates a tension between local norms and nongovernmental organizations’ neoliberalist values of “discipline, efficiency and competitiveness,” which nongovernmental organizations try to inject into villagers by their numerous social engineering programs, which are state’s responsibility. Nongovernmental organization monitoring has some psychological impacts on their clients that also contribute to shaking social solidarity. The absence of a proper trusting relationship between nongovernmental organizations and rural poor women reduces the capabilities of the latter as a result of which Drèze and Sen’s glorification of Bangladeshi nongovernmental organizations and Sen’s capabilities approach are in tension. However, there are strategies that Bangladeshi nongovernmental organizations should employ to address the issues raised due to their massive supervision mechanism.

Abstract:
The article reflects the individual results of the process of knowledge of the value system of legal psychology. The value system of legal psychology is considered as a set of interconnected ideals and meanings developed on the basis of the integration of legal and psychological knowledge, which is a singular formation and setting the goal and objectives of legal psychology. The question of the search for approaches and methods of systematizing the values of legal psychology is recognized as relevant. The author’s opinion is that the ontology (the philosophical study of being) and the ontological approach is the key to the systematization of the values of legal psychology through the method of dialectics and the principle of determinism. The ontological approach to the knowledge of the value system of legal psychology allows not only to assemble them into a single piece, but also to specify the tasks and purpose of legal psychology as a scientific branch.

Abstract:
In November 2018 in the National University “Odessa Maritime Academy,” the first round-table discussion “Co-generative Knowledge: Humanism, Innovation, Self-education” was held. One of the inspirations for the discussion was The Club of Rome's 50th-anniversary report calling for “New Enlightenment,” the transformation of thought, knowledge, and education. The Department of Philosophy, together with the International Academy of Psychosynergetics and Alphology (IAPA) presented the new interdisciplinary scientific and educational project with the primary aim of finding and implementing human- and culture-dimensional educational technologies, combining knowledge with human life practices. The second round-table discussion held at NU OMA on 14 June 2019, involved educators and researchers from universities of Dnipro, Kyiv, Odesa, and Kharkiv. Various theoretical and practical issues of education, thinking, knowledge, and cognition were discussed as related to the concept of co-generative knowledge. Educators and researchers shared their insights on the societal needs in the human-dimensional paradigm of social development; on the features of modern philosophical and scientific thinking, axiological aspects of knowledge, and humanistic intentions of education. The subjects of the discussion were critical and integrated thinking, the problem of systematicity of knowledge in modern education, creative construction of educational process, the use of systemic methodology in teaching philosophical disciplines. The discussion was specifically focused on the problem of formation of an educated person, discovering the resources for his creativity and self-creation. The participants stressed the heuristic potential of philosophical knowledge and the need to adjust the content of Philosophy courses in order to reveal it, the importance of creating humanitarian educational practices based on Philosophy, in particular, philosophical and psychological ones. It was emphasised that they will not only promote individualisation of educational process, but foster students’ and teachers’ self-knowledge and self-actualisation. The participants have come to a conclusion that the concept of co-generative knowledge reveals the unity of thinking, knowledge, values and practice of human existence. The heuristic potential of the concept was revealed in historical, socio-political, as well as philosophical and psychological aspects. The alternative theoretical and methodological positions presented by the participants support the need for ongoing discussion on co-generative knowledge, thinking, and education. Abstract:
This study examines myth as an ideological component of extremism. The objective is to define the role and meaning of myths in extremist activities. Extremism is a socio-cultural and political phenomenon of modern culture, expressed in actions against the foundations of the constitutional order and public security. Myths contribute to the formation of a holistic picture of the world, to the construction of an alternative social reality, and the creation of models of thinking and behavior that correspond to the goals and objectives of extremist organizations. The research methodology is based on the theories of myth by A. Losev and M. Eliade, on the phenomenological approach of P. Berger and T. Luckmann to the construction of reality, on the cognitive features proposed by A. Kruglanski, and the interpretation of deviance by J. Gilinsky. Extremist behavior is a form of deviance, expressing in the committing of non-normative actions that threaten the stability of society and activate the mechanisms of social control. Extremist thinking is the result of psychological construction, which arose on the basis of the unnatural functioning of the cognitive system. Extremist ideologies contain myths about the future ideal state and/or society, heroes, and legendary personalities, as well as eschatological myths. Essentially, these myths do not differ from the myths inherent in other types of activity and socio-cultural phenomena. However, they contribute to extremism by demonstrating acceptable and unacceptable norms of behavior as exemplified by some legendary personalities; interpretation of historical events and processes of social reality following the political goals of organizations; creation and transmission of relevant ideas and values; the formation of identity and a sense of exclusivity among extremists. Keywords: extremism, extremist organizations, ideology, myth, future state, ideal society, deviance

AbstractMany individuals develop a temporary state of cognitive and emotional impairment after being diagnosed with catastrophic illness. Thus, when crucial decisions about medical treatment are required, they are unable to assimilate information; or worse, the legal need to be informed can rival a psychological desire to not be informed. The Canadian informed consent doctrine is unresponsive to crisis and clinically impracticable, and so paradoxically compromises the integrity and autonomy it was designed to protect. Many aspects of the physician-patient relationship and clinical setting also undermine the philosophical values enshrined in this doctrine. This further jeopardizes the individual's integrity. The Article explores proposals for change such as delaying the informing and consenting, improving the concept of consent, and improving the role of the physician.

Let me stress that this is not at all to contribute to a muddled understanding of the issue of human rights that necessarily has to be perceived differently depending on the field of research. On the contrary, it is in fact to articulate that the issue of human rights can only be understood from a transdisciplinary perspective; and that cross-cultural communication is required to approach the question of ‘values’ and ‘rights’ in our globalized world.

Abstract:
The philosophical, psychological and sociological analysis of the Christian symbol of the Revelation is for the first time in the Ukrainian humanities carried out in the study. Understanding Revelation based on scientific concepts is a very complex problem, however, it is clear that its cause is the lack of the necessary methodology, ignoring the leading trend of world history and spirit i.e. the struggle of impersonal and personal principles of social being. It is proposed to base the study on the concept of four stages of human spiritual development: dependent personality, mediocre personality, mature personality, genius. With the help of Revelation, Christianity rethought the philosophical meaning of the concept of “truth”, which concerned not the material world, but the inner qualities of man. Christianity has come to the conclusion that the question “Who is the truth” is more important to man than the question “What is the truth?” Lack of a philosophical answer to the question “Who is the truth”? led to the dominance of the value judgment “every person is an individual”, which became the philosophical basis of the depersonalized paradigm of human being. Revelation appears as a way out of impersonal being into personal (transcendent), overcoming the fear of personal being, the birth of a spiritual principle in man and as a symbolic beginning of a new – personal – paradigm of being, when the highest values are self-actualization, self-realization and related work. Revelation is not only the birth of a person from an egocentric person, but it is a recognition of the significance of a person in another person. The reasons that prevent the scholars from revealing the meaning of Revelation are analyzed – the mechanisms of psychological protection and fear of personal being. Ignoring the leading trend of the world spirit (the struggle of the impersonal and the personal) and the concept of the four stages of spiritual development of man has led to a decrease in the critical mass of individuals in the human community. Failure to recognize the importance of the idea of personal existence is a crucial ideological cause of the existential vacuum, mental epidemics in the form of hybrid wars, global terrorism and violence against both human nature and nature in general. The modern apocalypse – an anthropological-global catastrophe – is the result of a crisis of impersonal existence and the priority of the material over the spiritual, which is realized by the mediocre person. It is proved that the proposed metaphysical theory of personality meets modern global challenges, opens opportunities for philosophical, psychological and sociological understanding of the causes of the crisis in Ukrainian society and in the human community. It is substantiated that the ideological basis for overcoming the crisis of impersonal existence is the assertion of the priority of the spiritual over the material, the adoption of the ideological law “Personality is the basis of being” and changing the form of determination. Determination of the present must be replaced by determination of the future.

The article analyzes the philosophical and evaluation paradigm of linguistic means for denoting the concepts of war and peace in the context of present-day Ukraine. The realization of the functional and stylistic potential of language in expressing the socio-political and philosophical opposition of hostile parties in the context of the division of values into their own and othersʼ has been traced in the linguistic and information space. Analyzed vocabulary, precedent units, metaphors, epithets, which are indicative of modern texts of the Means of mass communication and which express the linguistics of the national public consciousness. War in the minds of society is always associated with aggression: destruction, distress, death, and peace with peace, peace, life. Such perception of these phenomena is entrenched in the antonymic ratio of two eternal words of the Ukrainian dictionary war – peace. The basic element of their opposition is the original semantics of the word war, which contains a contradictory feature, which is denied in the definition of peace. The ontology of war and peace in the linguistic and informational texts of today corresponds to the psychological attitudes of society and is a reflection of the current socio-political situation in the country. Around the war and peace as the nuclear concepts of the Means of mass communicationand, a synchronous linguistic-evaluative paradigm is formed, which is an expression of the linguistic-national consciousness, an indicator of the philosophical comprehension of a specific time period of the history of Ukraine in general, and of the functional capabilities of the language in particular.

The article is devoted to the problem of the formation of motivation for teaching students of higher education institutions in Ukraine. The authors consider the problem of forming students' motivation from two perspectives - psychological and philosophical. The psychological approach is used to analyze internal motivation, and the philosophical one to analyze external motivation and the influence of external factors on the formation of values in students and teachers, which also affect the motivation to learn. The four phases of the economic development of society and the types of universities that are formed in each phase are analyzed. University 1.0 in the pre-industrial phase, University 2.0 in the industrial phase, University 3.0 in the post-industrial phase and University 4.0 in the cognitive phase. Although universities have developed pedagogical methods for teaching in higher education, a gap has recently arisen between a student and a university. Proven techniques do not show already familiar high results. There is a need for the restructuring of teaching methods, programs and the universities themselves. This shows the main trends in the development of society and the characteristics of new universities, as well as the main pedagogical methods of increasing motivation among students. The goal of the new university is to train specialists in the project attitude to the world, in the broad sense of entrepreneurs and engineers (including financial, cultural, social. Abstract:
Multiple impending threats signify a pressing need for improved social relations globally. School leavers, curious about people and life, are naturally attracted to philosophy and psychology. An open alliance of the two will enhance their contributions towards a healthier future for humanity. A six-stage scheme of developmental psychology towards ‘individuation’, ‘full personality integration’ and ‘universalism’—including a description of transition processes between stages—defines shared goals for both disciplines. A paradigm change introduces a hierarchically superior, seamlessly encompassing, ‘spiritual’ dimension to the established physical, biological, psychological and social dimensions of human experience and understanding, and shifts dominance from worldly, materialist priorities towards a set of universal values associated with wisdom. Influencing education, science, politics and economics, this development produces worldwide benefits. To further character development towards wisdom and maturity, thus promoting humanity’s psychological and philosophical evolution, undergraduate courses can be modified simply and gradually by introducing students to ‘wisdom practice’ routines aimed at broadening horizons of experience and promoting helpful skills, including those of contemplation, meditation, discernment, empathy, and self-control. Following the Conclusion, an Addendum ends the paper with a closing allegory to convey the wisdom of such a suggestion, pointing towards a timely, practical and potentially profitable new beginning.

The article substantiates the necessity to research the axiological problems of legal psychology and shows the results of a theoretical study of the value-related aspect of legal psychology. These results advocate the idea of using a systemic approach in values analysis. It is maintained that in order to resolve the axiological problems of legal psychology by way of systematization of its values what's needed is a return to the philosophical foundations of cognition, ontology, dialectics, logic, the material basis of psyche. At the same time, it is believed that not every systemic approach can cope with value systematization in legal psychology. As a doctrinal alternative, philosophy and psychology develop and offer an ontological system of ethical categories to be the cornerstone of natural and positive law. This system relies on the ontological criteria and is a matrix (grid) of fundamental knowledge at the categorial level. The ontological matrix of axiological categories of ethics (the foundations of law) must manifest itself in psychological concepts and must represent value orientations for legal psychology, making it possible for one to develop within the framework of scientific cognition, without losing touch with the fundamentals of law and ethics.

Abstract:
The article considers the idea of a new pedagogical thinking, which plays an important role in the future teacher formation. The essence of the concept of new pedagogical thinking is revealed. The problems of the process of formation of new pedagogical thinking in the scientific philosophical, psychological, pedagogical literature are analyzed. A retrospective analysis of the development of the idea of new pedagogical thinking is carried out. It is established that the formation of a new pedagogical thinking of the teacher as a factor in the humanization of the school is determined by a holistic process of the pedagogical community, aimed at understanding new, anthropo-oriented values of education, assignment of these values by teachers and their implementation in their practical pedagogical activities. The essence of the New pedagogical thinking is revealed, which we consider as a process and result of critical analysis by the teacher of the reality of the modern world, educational process and self-analysis of own professional actions in the direction of humanization and humanization of educational space. Examples of tasks for the development of new pedagogical thinking are offered.

Abstract:
The altered psychological environment demanded a shift in emphasis from a pure critique of traditions to a critique of traditions coupled with a critique of modernity.Ashis Nandy, Traditions, Tyranny and UtopiasModern conservatism, at least in its philosophical form, is a child of what it attacks—modernity. If the central ethos of modernity is a belief in the plasticity of society and the individual, the central ethos of conservatism is a belief in the sanctity of community, kinship, tradition. Modernity's fascination with the new is matched by conservatism's defense of past tradition. It is on the priority of a past order bequeathed by history, and its traditional institutions, that the conservatives base their critique of modernity. The modernist idea that societies can be shaped, molded, and steered in new directions, and that individuals can direct their own destinies, finds its counterpart in conservative thought in the rediscovery of the past-its institutions, values, themes, structures.

Abstract:
Purpose This paper aims to explore the ethical and social impact of augmented visual field devices (AVFDs), identifying issues that AVFDs share with existing devices and suggesting new ethical and social issues that arise with the adoption of AVFDs. Design/methodology/approach This essay incorporates both a philosophical and an ethical analysis approach. It is based on Plato’s Allegory of the Cave, philosophical notions of transparency and presence and human values including psychological well-being, physical well-being, privacy, deception, informed consent, ownership and property and trust. Findings The paper concludes that the interactions among developers, users and non-users via AVFDs have implications for autonomy. It also identifies issues of ownership that arise because of the blending of physical and virtual space and important ways that these devices impact, identity and trust. Practical implications Developers ought to take time to design and implement an easy-to-use informed consent system with these devices. There is a strong need for consent protocols among developers, users and non-users of AVFDs. Social implications There is a social benefit to users sharing what is visible on their devices with those who are in close physical proximity, but this introduces tension between notions of personal privacy and the establishment and maintenance of social norms. Originality/value There is new analysis of how AVFDs impact individual identity and the attendant ties to notions of ownership of the space between an object and someone’s eyes and control over perception.

Abstract:
<em>Ressentiment </em>is central for understanding the psychological foundations of reactionary politics, right-wing populism, Islamic fundamentalism, and radicalism. In this article we theorise <em>ressentiment </em>as an emotional mechanism which, reinforcing a morally superior sense of victimhood, expedites two parallel transvaluation processes: What was once desired or valued, yet unattainable, is reassessed as something undesirable and rotten, and one’s own self from being inferior, a loser, is reassessed as being noble and superior. We establish negative emotions of envy, shame, and inefficacious anger as the main triggers of <em>ressentiment</em>, with their associated feelings of inferiority and impotence, which target the vulnerable self. We identify the outcomes of <em>ressentiment </em>as other-directed negative emotions of resentment, indignation, and hatred, reinforced and validated by social sharing. We map the psychological structure of <em>ressentiment </em>in four stages, each employing idiosyncratic defences that depend on the ego-strength of the individual to deliver the transvaluation of the self and its values, and finally detail how social sharing consolidates the outcome emotions, values, and identities in <em>ressentiment</em> through shallow twinship bonds with like-minded peers. Our interdisciplinary theoretical account integrates classic philosophical scholarship of <em>ressentiment</em> and its contemporary proponents in philosophy and sociology, which highlight envy as the prime driver of <em>ressentiment</em>; it also considers the sociological approaches that focus on the repression and transmutation of shame and its social consequences, as well as the psychoanalytic scholarship on psychic defences and political psychology models on the emotionality of decision-making. We conclude the article by elaborating the political implications of <em>ressentiment</em> as the emotional mechanism of grievance politics.

Abstract:
The idea of value-free economics is an old methodological issue. It has given rise to one of the most important controversies in the history of economic thought. The discussion was important because it had to do with the scientific nature of economics. One can still find a significant number of methodological works (e.g. Coddington 1972, Gordon 1977, Samuels 1977, Sugden 1981, Colander 1994) which echo this old controversy. Most economists today, though, would agree that the claim of an economic theory free from values is essential in establishing the scientific nature of the discipline. A positive, value-free economics, in the sense of not relying on any particular set of value judgments or on any philosophical or psychological framework, is generally seen as the ideal. This approach has crucially influenced important branches of economics such as microeconomic theory. The current established position was a product of a historical process which played a significant role in the formation of the body of economic theory. Furthermore, the idea of what is value-free economics has changed since its first introduction as a scientific ideal. The nature of this change is also important for understanding the present conception of the scientific character of economics.

Abstract:
The article presents the results of theoretical analysis of scientific works on the problems of deontological training of future specialists in higher education institutions. The result of this training is deontological competence as a complex subjective feature that determines the ability for the proper professional behavior and making effective decisions in deontologically determined situations of managerial interaction. The purpose of the research is to theoretically substantiate the criteria and indicators of the formation of the deontological competence of future specialists. To achieve this goal, the following research methods were used: terminological analysis, concretization and generalization of theoretical concepts in the philosophical, psychological and pedagogical works of domestic and foreign scientists. The article describes the results of the research. The criteria and indicators of forming education managers’ deontological competence at university master’s level are proved for the first in pedagogical science. The content of motivation, cognitive, activity-based criteria is revealed. The motivation criterion indicates the motivation for normative behavior, developed values that determine the proper performance of professional duties by education managers, their aims and needs as bearers of professional and moral values; cognitive criterion defines the degree of acquisition of deontological knowledge; technological criterion shows the degree of forming deontological abilities and skills.

Abstract:
In the article, based on the analysis of scientific research, the artistic and pedagogical narrative "Pedagogy of good" in the numerous speeches of the Doctor of Philosophical Sciences, professor, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine I. A. Ziaziun, the main concepts of the nation-building conception of the founder of pedagogical mastery, scientist-philosopher, esthete, teacher and psychologist are outlined in the context of the challenges and prospects for the implementation of the Concept «New Ukrainian School» (2016).It is determined that in the philosophical and pedagogical, philosophical and psychological studies of Ukrainian scientist the nation-building conception of pedagogical education is presented, in which the humanistic and axiological approaches to solving numerous educational and scientific issues are organically combined, and the core of national education is «pedagogy of good and human creation».Among the conceptions of the ideological concept of Ivan Ziaziun, a special place is occupied by the concepts of a person, a personality, a school, a student, and a teacher. The basic principles, concepts, basic values of the researcher are relevant and demanded in the context of the implementation of the objectives of the Concept «New Ukrainian School»: life – as lifelong learning, child-centered approach, transition from school of knowledge to the school of competences, pedagogy of student and teacher partnership; continuous process of upbringing, which forms values, leads to a reflection on how to preserve and develop the identity of a student and a teacher in the modern globalized world and to realize through pedagogical action.Among the defining features of a personality, which Ivan Ziaziun skillfully justified and served as an example, an important role assigned to spirituality, intelligence, honor and dignity. I. Ziaziun always was a supporter of a return of a sense of honor and dignity to public education in the society.Implementation of the principle of «life as a lifelong learning» in I. Ziaziun's prognostic concept is represented through the provision of sensuality. The new school is competency-oriented, and a definite list of ten competencies is based on the «Recommendations of the European Parliament and the Council of Europe on the development of key competences for lifelong (all-life) education» (2006). The most important of these is the lack of certain knowledge, personal qualities and abilities of the student, and the ability to apply competence in specific educational and life situations. I. Ziaziun also supported the following ideas: the child is not a clay from which it is possible to sculpt everything, it is an active person who percepts educational and nurturing influences desirable for him/her.Ivan Ziaziun proved that a modern teacher works in the format of independent creative searches based on the achievements of fundamental sciences and traditional methods. Their uniqueness lies in the axiological basis of the teacher's action, which is based on three psychological factors: intelligence – affection – will.

Abstract:
From the late 1990s, Hasidism in Ukraine has increasingly become a means of attracting mostly secular Ukrainian Jewry (104,000, according to the most recent All-Ukrainian Population Census), to religious and national values. Every year, Ukraine becomes a center of pilgrimage for religious Jews from all over the world. About 20,000 Bratislava Hasidim come to Uman for the grave of their spiritual leader Nachman Bratslavsky. The pilgrimage attracts the attention of the media, the public and the media. Talking about the Bratslav Hasidic, they draw attention to the external attributes of this spiritual stream, to scandals related to burial and almost nothing - to the religious and philosophical meaning of Nachman Bratslavsky's teachings, to his socio-psychological and socio-cultural phenomenon. Elements of this doctrine have not yet been the subject of special studies by Ukrainian religious scholars. Meanwhile, in the West and in Israel, the spiritual heritage of Rabbi Nachman arouses the continued interest of philosophers, historians and anthropologists, and his works are intensively published and reprinted.
