Abstract:
Studie na příkladu diagnostického nástroje SQLP – Subjective Quality of Life Profile (Dazord et al. 1995, 1998) ilustruje konkrétní podobu individualizace. V závěru jsou shrnuty výhody a nevýhody individualizovaných diagnostických nástrojů.

Abstract:
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to investigate how stock characteristics influence investor trading behavior and psychological pitfalls. Design/methodology/approach – This study employs the methods of Solt and Statman (1989) and Kumar (2009) to examine investor trading activities. Findings – Good companies do not usually have good stocks, while lottery-type stocks show better price performance than other stocks. Due to the representativeness and affect heuristics, the stocks of good companies are frequently transacted, while the low-priced stocks are infrequently transacted. Moreover, investors may display the gambler’s fallacy in the trade of stocks of good companies and the overconfidence and self-attribution bias in the trade of lottery-type stocks. Research limitations/implications – Investors trading lottery-type stocks demonstrate greater maturity than those that trade stocks of good companies; however, psychological pitfalls still dominate investor trading behavior. Practical implications – The representativeness heuristic of “stocks of good companies are good stocks” results in the inclusion of stocks of good companies in a portfolio and poorer price performance, whereas the inclusion of lottery-type stocks in a portfolio brings higher returns within a short period of time. Originality/value – Compared to earlier studies that focussed on the price performance of stocks of good companies and investor trading behavior in relation to lottery-type stocks, this study aims to investigate the influence of stock characteristics on price performance, trading activities, and psychological pitfalls.

This paper presents the basic principle for achieving a custom implant from biocompatible materials with the human body using Additive Manufacturing technologies. Due the fact that is a new product which will be introduced on the market, a marketing study was needed. This study presents also the mathematical, analytical and graphical modeling of the psychological price, for a custom implant type cranioplasty / hip prosthesis / spinal implant. The assessment of psychological price for a custom cranioplasty implant, that is not the object through curative Romanian health programs, bring relevant information on the knowledge of maximum and minimum limits that the purchasers, potential consumers, are willing to accept, so the price at which the proportion of consumers potential is the greatest.

Abstract:
Purpose While existing research has established various methods for pricing, the impact of a manager’s individual psychological profile on his/her price setting behavior is relatively unexamined. This is especially critical in the context of pricing decisions implemented in response to competitive forces. This paper aims to explore how a manager’s price responses to price cuts by a competitor are affected by his/her cognitive style, gender and entrepreneurial attitudes. Design/methodology/approach In the first study, a simulation-based pricing environment is used in a lab setting to capture the dynamics of pricing decisions made in response to competitive price cuts. Participants’ price responses are captured in the form of the magnitude of price change implemented in a simulated environment in response to a competitor’s price reduction. The second study extends the scope of inquiry by using a national sample of business professionals and replicates and reinforces the findings of the first study by capturing participants’ attitudinal response on the decision to reduce prices in reaction to competitive price reductions. Findings The results of both studies indicate significant effects for cognitive style, gender and entrepreneurial attitudes. Individuals with stronger entrepreneurial attitudes and analytical cognitive styles, and females are less likely to engage in reactive price reductions. Research limitations/implications The findings of this study indicate that managers’ propensity to engage in price changes in reaction to competitors can be linked to their psychological profile and gender. Practical implications Given the existence of the relationship between price reactions of managers and their cognitive style and entrepreneurial attitudes, the training and development of pricing professionals may need to take these individual-level factors into account. Originality/value This is the first study that has linked managers’ propensity to engage in price changes in reaction to competitors to their gender and psychological profile.

Abstract:
Our stories are not taking place in the cinema, but in the mind of viewer - that's basic idea behind this thesis. Best tools for insight into the minds of people are coming from cognitive sciences, but their perspective is often ignored by screenwriters. How does the pattern-seeking brain works? Which psychological effects can influence the first act of screenplay? What is an anchoring? What screenwriter needs to know about selling home bakery? What is theory of mirror neurons and what it can teach us about an empathy? How much information is just too much? And how viewer's attention operates? These questions and examples from author's own work attempt to describe how to look at screenwriter's craft through the cognitive perspective.

Viken, Kjetil. "Elasticity of Money as a Reinforcer: Assessing Multiple Compositions of Unit Price." Thesis, University of North Texas, 1999. https://digital.library.unt.edu/ark:/67531/metadc2234/.

Full text
Abstract:
Behavioral economics is the integration of concepts from micro-economics into behavior analysis. Most of the research in behavioral economics has been done with non-human subjects and with drugs as reinforcers. This study represents an extension of previous research to assess money as a reinforcer with humans as subjects. The participants in this study solved math problems to earn money at various unit prices. Results indicate that demand of money adhered to the law of demand in that consumption decreased as unit prices increased. An underlying assumption is that consumption should be equivalent at different compositions of unit price. Replications of either the same or different compositions of unit price indicated that there were some discrepancies in consumption in this study.

Abstract:
Three groups of participants were exposed to different unit price sequences. Unit prices for all groups ranged from unit price 1 to 21. Analyses of demand curves, response rates, session duration, and elasticity coefficients suggest that the sequence of exposure to unit prices can affect the elasticity of demand. In addition, the size of unit price contrast, direction of unit price change, and proximity to experimental milestones also may affect the consumption of monetary reinforcers.

Abstract:
Financial analysts produce investment reports containing two outputs: one recommendation and one target price. This study compared and contrasted the investment value of the two by employing recognised decision making theories. For this purpose 89.814 analyst reports, or 4.956 consensus reports, based on US data (S&P 500) was employed to form recommendation and target price portfolios with a holding period of 1, 3, 6, 12 and 24 months. The findings indicated a negative relationship between the two variables. Seeking to make profits, it therefore seems as if an investor should buy stocks with the most favourable recommendations but, surprisingly, also stocks with the least optimistic target prices. The explanation for the anomaly was primarily sought in the compatibility principle, preference reversals, configural weight theory or temporal distance theory and possibly in the analysts’ evasion of regret and protection of their reputation and employment.

Abstract:
This chapter examines how the psychology of cognition, decision making, and deception affects buyers and sellers in real estate transactions. The chapter describes how some aspects of property law, such as standardized forms of property (e.g., fee simple ownership, leasing) may reduce information-processing costs and enhance understanding of transactions. Yet other laws, such as property defect disclosure, fail to respond to buyers who struggle to process, update, and price complex, late-coming information and sellers who are subject to motivated reasoning and tendencies toward deception. The chapter also considers emerging psychological evidence on conflicts of interest that calls into question the prevailing approach of allowing dual agency by brokers (i.e., representing both buyer and seller).

Abstract:
Joe Cleary’s chapter examines what the future of the Catholic Church is now that one of the great threats to its hegemony during the twentieth century, communism, has fallen largely into abeyance. Will the Church continue to align itself with capitalism and ignore the steady grip of the associated neoliberal agenda that favours secular, material values over religious ones? In contemporary Ireland, it often seems as though a blind adherence to religion has been replaced by an equally blind embrace of neoliberalism. Cleary asks what psychological price the Irish will pay for their submissive compliance with the fashionable ideas of the moment and explores how a healthy relationship with the Church might be developed in such a changed cultural environment.

Abstract:
Based on customer cognitive, affective and conative experiences in Internet online shopping, this study, from customers’ perspectives, develops a conceptual framework for e-CRM to explain the psychological process that customers maintain a long-term exchange relationship with specific online retailer. The conceptual framework proposes a series of causal linkages among the key variables affecting customer commitment to specific online retailer, such as perceived value (as cognitive belief), satisfaction (as affective experience) and trust (as conative relationship intention). Three key exogenous variables affecting Internet online shopping experiences, such as perceived service quality, perceived product quality, and perceived price fairness, are integrated into the framework. This study empirically tested and supported a large part of the proposed framework and the causal linkages within it. The empirical results highlight some managerial implications for successfully developing and implementing a strategy for e-CRM.

Abstract:
The Covid-19 pandemic has burst upon us as a general test for humanity, for which we were woefully unprepared. We all faced the pandemic with little knowledge and no experience. It is the first pandemic of our lives. Over this period, we have seen a range of conflicting statements, positions and behaviours. On occasion, the scientific community and health professionals have failed to speak with a single voice to convey the urgency of the situation, as their views got lost and scattered in rivulets of opposing theories ranging from denying to ringing the alarm. So many elements were in place for the ‘perfect storm’ to get unleashed … and it did. And as the pandemic wreaked its havoc, many health workers have paid a high price for their selfless dedication and professionalism. We have worked in the absence of clear-cut guidelines, in situations where even the cornerstones of medical ethics have faltered. On the other hand, the fruitful aspects of uncertainty also emerged.

Abstract:
Paper describes research applications of biofeedback on psychological resistance analysis. Using scientific methods paper evaluated influence of stress and mental resistance of probands: pilots in training so-called cadets and volunteers not involved in piloting of any kind, so-called „nonpilots“. Devices Muse 2 and CorSence Elite are used to examine R-R intervals, sympathetic/parasympathetic activity ratio and brain activity during each examination sessions. Theses also aim at answering two core hypotheses. Do the pilots have greater mental resistance against stress due to training and frequent exposure to a highly stressful environment? And, are we able to find the answer to the previous question using the biofeedback examination method? Nonpilot group had 2,47 times thinner R-R interval than the pilot group and also had SNS index 1,77 times higher than the one in the pilot group. Unusual data can be observed once we look at the PNS index. According to data calculations, the final PNS index in the pilot group is 0,816 and the nonpilot group 0,7075 This situation can be described by the known effect of physical subsystems which can deviate these indexes. Significant differences between examined values verify hypothesis which says frequent exposure to highly stressful environment causes high mental resistance against stress for pilots. It is also safe to say that cardiologic biofeedback is a reliable tool for complex examination of induces stress levels. It wasn’t managed to verify MUSE 2 technology due to inconclusive data. It is believed that distortion of data from MUSE 2 is a consequence of a hygienic face mask. This exposure of its weakness shows brand new information for using such technologies.

Abstract:
Brand advertising is a type of advertising that aims at increasing the awareness of companies or products. This type of advertising is well studied in economic, marketing, and psychological literature; however, there are no studies in the area of computational advertising because the effect of such advertising is difficult to observe. In this study, we consider a real-time biding strategy for brand advertising. Here, our objective to maximizes the total number of users who remember the advertisement, averaged over the time. For this objective, we first introduce a new objective function that captures the cognitive psychological properties of memory retention, and can be optimized efficiently in the online setting (i.e., it is a monotone submodular function). Then, we propose an algorithm for the bid optimization problem with the proposed objective function under the second price mechanism by reducing the problem to the online knapsack constrained monotone submodular maximization problem. We evaluated the proposed objective function and the algorithm in a real-world data collected from our system and a questionnaire survey. We observed that our objective function is reasonable in real-world setting, and the proposed algorithm outperformed the baseline online algorithms.

Developing countries need energy supply. Turkish economy is one of the most dynamic in the region. The consumption of electric power in the country is growing rapidly. But the price of electric energy in Turkey is one of the detrimental factors. Of all the neighboring countries, Turkey has one of the highest prices for electric energy. While some academicians and non-governmental organizations supported the Turkish government's plans for establishment of nuclear power plants in Turkey, some others opposed it. Due to increased energy demand, Turkey is continuing to explore the possibilities of introducing nuclear power. Gaining acceptance from local populations, however, may be problematic because nuclear power has a negative image and risk perceptions are complicated by a range of psychological and cultural factors. The main aim of this work is to investigate Turkey's nuclear preferences is it right. We will discusses the Akkuyu nuclear energy projects, market trends and analysis. In addition we will look at Turkey’s nuclear energy policies.

Abstract:
The article presents an analysis of mental regulators of fly-in-fly-out personnel in diamond mining in the Far North. The study involved 70 fly-in-fly-out workers operating in the diamond mining in Far North. In our study, we relied on the concept of E. A. Klimov, who distinguished three groups of mental regulators of labor: representation of labor object, representation of labor subject, subject-object and subject-subject relations. Research methods are psychophysiological and psychological testing aimed at the diagnosis of mental regulators of labor, as well as questionnaires and projective methods for a qualitative study of mental regulators of labor. We have developed a questionnaire, which included such parameters as the assessment of comfort/discomfort of climatic and geographical, industrial and social conditions; assessment of the degree of danger of various professional situations that may arise during a fly-in; self-assessment of oneself as a professional, one’s professional skills, knowledge and adherence to safety precautions, personal qualities, job satisfaction, “price” of activity. We also developed a method of unfinished sentences. We conducted a content analysis of the results of the method of unfinished sentences, where we identified categories and subcategories related to the representation of labor object, representation of labor subject, subject-object and subject-subject relations. Statistical processing was carried out using multidimensional methods. As a result of the study, the peculiarities of the mental regulators of labor of fly-in-fly-out workers in diamond mining were identified, which must be taken into account when developing more targeted programs for supporting fly-in-fly-out work and selecting personnel in mining companies.
