In this article the author aims to highlight or spotlight psychology's subject, that is, who (or perhaps even what) psychology purports to inquire about. I will show how the milestones in modern psychological thinking constitute psychology's subject and note the absence of the lived-body and our historicity in theories of the person.

The reaction then raises some questions prompted in part by counseling psychology's heritage of strength-based approaches and in part by the positive psychological initiative for developing a classification of strengths and virtues. Giving students a sense of the fervor surrounding cognitive psychology's rapid emergence between 1950 and 1970 is difficult when examining the discrete events presented in cognitive psychology textbooks. The following small-group activity requires students to tabulate the references in Neisser (1967) by decade of publication. The resulting frequency histogram visually portrays the explosive growth of cognitive research in the 1960s, provides students with a richer sense of cognitive psychology's recent history, and reflects Neisser's monumental achievement of publishing his seminal book.

The course described in this article highlights women's contributions to and impact on the field by devoting an entire semester to psychology's women. A social constructionist model provides a framework for understanding women's historical and contemporary position in psychology, as well as the implications of women's growing presence in the discipline. This understanding is then applied to consideration of individual women, with students' work generating biographical sketches of several of psychology's women. Price is the element of the marketing mix that has direct effect in the profits of a company. The right price can boost the profit and the wrong price can significantly shrink it. Evolutionary psychology has recently developed out of dissatisfaction with the Standard Social Science Model utilised by mainstream psychology. This model focuses on culture and reason as the underlying cause of human behaviour and proposes that the mind is a 'general purpose learning device' (Siegert & Ward, 2002). Here the mind is seen as a blank slate at birth, which is subsequently influenced by experience, environment and culture. Biological variables are minimised or ignored. However, positive spiritual psychology says differently. In Christian theology, Saul, a notorious mass murderer, went to Damascus and became Paul, a righteous man. Hence, this study unraveled the breakthrough stories of real-life Pauls, or formerly convicted notorious criminals before, during, and after adhering to the Christian faith. I suggest that CCP’s early preoccupation with direct comparison between culturally-contrastive groups has been overtaken in importance by a number of trends in developmental and applied psychology. Some Western theorists now acknowledge reflexively that their interpretation of psychological variables is itself informed by a particular cultural system of meanings. A growing number of non-Western theorists have proposed alternative cultural psychologies. Mainstream developmental psychology has incorporated culture as an essential dimension of the field, leading to increasingly systemic theories.
