The impulse to resolve and interpret messages drives creativity and understanding. By utilizing the theory and practice of psychology and the cognitive processes involved in assigning influence, importance, recognition and associations with signifiers in the mind, we can strengthen visual communication. The original studies utilizing the MGP were developed to find a baseline intergroup situation that produced ingroup favoritism.
