This paper is concerned with methods to determine the resultant impact load pulse on test structures during gas gun tests. The muzzle of a gas gun carries an instrumented target support designed to measure force-time-pulses of the impact event on structures mounted on the device. The target during impact is supported on two long slender metallic bars with axial strain gauges. By measuring the impact strain pulses in the support bars and assuming longitudinal wave propagation, it is possible to determine the impact load pulse on the target. Multiple pulses numbers cause the Si phase to be significantly refined and uniformly distributed. Therefore, there has been significant research on the development of seismic retrofit technologies. As part of this quest, there are attempts to find measurement methods of intracranial parameters that are valid, reliable, tolerable and safe for patients. Galindo, Arturo, and Jorge Tovar. Policy Support and Firm Performance During the COVID-19 Pandemic: Evidence from Colombia. Inter-American Development Bank, 2022. http://dx.doi.org/10.18235/0004622.

Full text
Abstract:
The pandemic hit the Colombian economy as hard as other countries. Using a novel Business Pulse Survey, this paper tests the effect of government support and COVID-19 cases on firms performance. A one-standard-deviation increase in government support (in periods in which the pandemics intensity was average) increased the percentage of firms reporting normal operations by 4.8 percent. Political demonstrations in spring 2021, however, reduced the percentage by 13 percent each month they lasted. Firms' financial distress also counters the impact of government support, suggesting the need to ease

Abstract:
Currently, AASHTOWare PMED does not contain a framework to compute distresses for loading scenarios like truck platoons. Truck platoons reduce fuel consumption and improve safety while increasing pavement damage because of a reduction in wander and rest period. The important parameters of truck platoons are wander, rest period, and penetration level. Unlike wander, the effect of reduced rest period on permanent deformation and platoon penetration level are not well documented. Rest period (i.e., truck spacing) is a critical parameter in platoons that can be controlled to reduce damage or to im

Hawley. PR-015-11707-R01 Test Diagnostic Methods for Turbine Gas Meters. Pipeline Research Council International, Inc. (PRCI), 2013. http://dx.doi.org/10.55274/r0010671.

Full text
Abstract:
Similar to most metering technologies, turbine meters are known to be affected by abnormal flow or abnormal mechanical conditions which can cause bias in flow measurement. These types of flow conditions include blockage at the flow meter or straightening vanes, grime or liquid contamination on the internal meter components, damage to the internal meter components, and pulsation in the flow. With the introduction of ultrasonic and Coriolis meters for gas applications, the natural gas industry has embraced the concept of meters with embedded diagnostic capabilities. These capabilities allow the

Full text
Abstract:
The objectives of this research are to figure out how solid state decouplers (SSDs) influence the surveys related to pipeline cathodic protection (CP) and provide corresponding field guidelines on how to mitigate the adverse effects of SSDs. Firstly, by combining the classical capacitor discharge theory and the equivalent circuit of the CP system, a four-stage physical model is built to explain how SSDs' discharge current pulse influences the CP related readings. From the physical model, we can obtain the following conclusions: (1) The driving force behind the discharging of an SSD's capacitor
