Abstract:
Introduction: The present paper provides a study of the activity of the new 1,3-diazinon-4 derivatives and their acyclic precursors under the laboratory cipher PYaTd1, PYaTs2, PYaTs3 and PYaTs4 against microorganisms of the genus Proteus, which is of high importance at the moment as the growing resistance of the Proteus to previously highly active antibiotics dictates the need to search for effective antimicrobial agents that meet modern safety requirements. Materials and Methods: The study of the activity of the compounds was carried out on collection and freshly isolated strains from patients with different pathologies. The strains were identified using the BIOMIC V3 apparatus (Giles Scientific, USA) to verify genus and species identity. The strains used in the study were previously examined for susceptibility to antibacterial drugs by the Disc Method to assess the presence or absence of resistance. The activity of the new compounds was studied by the serial dilution method. Results: The results of the study showed that the compounds PYaTd1, PYaTs2, PYaTs3 and PYaTs4 show a different activity against bacteria of the genus Proteus. The substance PYaTs2 is ineffective. With respect to strains P.mirabilis and P.rettgeri, the minimum inhibitory concentration of the compounds PYaTs3, PYaTs4 and PYaTd1 ranges from 4 μg/ml to 16 μg/ml. Conclusion: Thus, by the average aggregate indices, regardless of the species and strain of bacteria, the most effective compound is PYaTd1, the MIC50 of which is within 10 μg/ml, which proves it to be promising and makes further development worthwhile.

Abstract:
Aim. Study anti-leprosy activity of a 1.3-diazinon-4 compound derivative under the laboratory code PYaTd 1 on the model of intra-plantar infection of mice and evaluate the character of its antibacterial effect. Materials and methods. Study of specific activity was carried out in vivo on the experimental model of leprosy, proposed by Shepard C.C., that assumes execution of intra-plantar infection of mice with a suspension of mycobacteria, produced from lepromas or autopsy tissue of a non-treated leprosy infected, or from tissues of experimental mice, previously infected with Mycobacterium leprae from non-treated patients. The study was carried out on 120 C BA line mice infected with M. leprae (VIII passage) from patient M. Dapsone and PYaTdl compound were administered to animals next day after the infection with forage at a dose of 25 mg/kg for 4.5, 6, 9 and 11 months. The mice were split into 3 groups: control (infected without treatment), comparison (infected, receiving dapsone), experimental (infected, receiving PYaTd 1). After the control term the mice were euthanized under chloroform anesthesia. Suspensions for quantification of mycobacteria were prepared from paw pads. Smears were stained by Ziehl-Nilsson. Results. After 4.5 months the intensity of infect reproduction under the effect of dapsone and PYaTd 1 was reduced compared with control by 18 - 25 times. After a 6-month course - by 50 - 75% and after 9 months - by 85 - 90%. After 11 months in mice that had received PYaTd 1, an intensive suppression of microorganism reproduction was observed: the yield in paws was 70 times lower than in control. In the group that had received dapsone, a reduction of the number of mycobacteria by 20 - 25 times was detected, it was significantly less effective than under the conditions of PYaTd 1 administration. Conclusion. A novel 1.3-diazinon-4 derivative under the code PYaTdl can actively supress reproduction of M. leprae, that gives evidence regarding its specific anti-mycobacterial activity and determines perspectives of its further studies.

Abstract:
This research deals with the activity of Polish Stronnitsvo Lyudove “Pyast” (PSL “Pyast”), the largest Polish party in Lviv county. PSL “Pyast” played the leading role among political organizations of the Polish peasants of Western Ukraine during 1919–1931. Conservative ideology this political party formed its position on the importance of Christian morality principles existing in political and social life of interwar Poland. PSL “Pyast” paid special attention to the necessity of private property as the main base of citizens’ wellness. The activity of the Party was full of permanent political struggle. PSL “Pyast” leaders claimed to defense Polish peasants’ political interests, which became a very strong promotion for Party’ organizational network development in Lviv county. Active organizational work gave the opportunity to preserve the main position in the Polish political environment in the county. Lviv county government maintained 30 peasant primary organizations in 1926. The main reason of the Party’ organizational success wasn’t connected with changing of its political strategy. The main success was preserved due to active propaganda work.

Abstract:
ABSTRACTThe activity of intracellular proteolytic enzymes was studied in Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar L.) fingerlings (0+) after hatching from spawning nests and dispersal in the Varzuga River main stem and its Pyatka tributary (Kola Peninsula, White Sea Basin). The study focused on calcium-dependent cytosolic proteinases (µ- and m-calpains), lysosomal proteinases (cathepsins В and D) and collagenase, and determined the free/protein-bound hydroxyproline ratio, which portrays collagenolytic activity. Compared to fingerlings from the Varzuga main stem, the intracellular proteolytic enzyme activity of cysteine proteinase and collagenase was higher in fingerlings from the Pyatka tributary, where current velocities and food availability were higher. These results indicate that there is a higher rate of intracellular protein metabolism in the juveniles from this phenotypic group.

Sabatier, Guy. "Idéologie et mimésis sous la monarchie de Juillet : le mélodrame de la République sociale et le théâtre de Félix Pyat." Paris 8, 1996. http://www.theses.fr/1996PA081223.

Abstract:
Cette dernière apparaît comme le clef du salut, de la régénération sociale et annonce la spiritualisme humanitaire de la révolution de fevrier 1848<br>The melodrama of the social republic and the theatre of Felix Pyat, considered as one of its most structuring parts, reveal the intensity of the relations which existed between ideology and mimesis under the monarchy of july. Confronted to a changing world, the people-public of this period (1830-1848) aspire to edifying and enlightening representations likely to soothe their existential anguish. There is an interaction between the popular drumas performed particulary in the boulevard du temple (called "of crime "), and the various social, republican and gospels (saint-simonism, fourierism. . . ), which spread in an atmosphere of impassioned propheticism which - beyond the criticism of the regime of Louis-Philippe, symbol of the betrayal of the ideals of 1830 - renew with the neo christian revolutionary millenarism, through a faith in the resurrection of a god-people (embodied since 1789 by the french people and its proclamation of human rights). The dramatic scene becomes then the seat of a blazing religion of man whose spirit haunts all sectors of the city, and the earthly paradise appears like a promise whose realization is due in a near future felix pyat's theater is religious, eachatological as it does not proceed to a simple republican politicization of melodrama, but to a dramatization of the program of the social republic, such as it had teen elaborated en 1793. His esthetics of exemplarity, going beyond the tragic of his first works and reforming plays, ritualize fraternal values such as solidarity and love. The latter appears as the key to salvation, to social regeneration, and announces the humanitarian spiritualism of the february 1848 revolution

Kulkarni, Anagha. "Frames in Harmony - A Critical Analysis of Song Sequences in the Films of Guru Dutt." Scholarly Repository, 2010. http://scholarlyrepository.miami.edu/oa_theses/27.

Full text
Abstract:
Guru Dutt was one of the most important filmmakers in India, who worked for a little over a decade starting in 1951. He died prematurely in 1964. In those few years, he made some of Indian cinema?s most memorable films. Song and dance sequences are an integral part of the narrative structure of popular Indian cinema. Guru Dutt, working within that paradigm, devised innovative methods of using song sequences. In his films, the song sequences were not a distraction, but they served the purpose of carrying the narrative forward, expressing the inexpressible, and replacing scenes. He achieved this by his creative use of locations, lyrics, music, camera angles, and placement of the song within the narrative. This study critically analyzes song sequences from five of his films ? Aar Paar (Through and Through, 1954), Mr. and Mrs. 55 (1955), Pyaasa (The Thirsty One, 1957), Kaagaz ke Phool (Paper Flowers, 1959) and Saahib Biwi aur Ghulam (Master Mistress and Slave, 1962). Guru Dutt?s style of song direction focused on realistic depiction and the quality of storytelling. He used each feature of the song to his advantage never losing control of the larger narrative. This study also brings to the fore Guru Dutt?s conflicted views as an artist on the issues of tradition and modernity, and the position of women in the emerging nation.

Abstract The subject symposium on “Partnering to Succeed: Keys to Managing Technology Development, Risk and Globalization” is held under the sponsorship of Engineering and Technology Management (E&amp;TM) Group at the 2001 ASME International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition (IMECE) with its congress highlight topic of “Progress Through Partnerships: Team Approaches for Today’s Economy,” following a success of the 2000 ASME IMECE E&amp;TM Group Symposium on “Successfully Managing the Risk and Development of Your Business and Technology” with its congress highlight topic of “Beyond the Traditional Boundaries.” The 2000 symposium counted over 500 attendees (1), (2), increased by more than 2.5 times from about 200 attendees for all the sessions organized for IMECE 1999 by three divisions of the E&amp;TM Group. The original proposal for these 2000 and 2001 IMECE symposia, shown in Appendix, was submitted to then E&amp;TM Group Vice President Arnold Rothstein by the author at the Technology &amp; Society (T&amp;S) and Management Division Executive Committee and E&amp;TM Group Operating Board meetings at IMECE 1999 in Nashville. E&amp;TM Group Representative Kenneth Home and session track leaders were instrumental in carrying out these symposia, with the cooperation and support of Arnold Rothstein and his successor Jeff Rode, Division Chairs John Paul and Robert Bums (T&amp;S), Steven Nichols (Management Division), and David Pyatt (Safety Engineering and Risk Analysis Division (SERAD)) and other members of the division executive committees and the group operating board. The current paper introduces key issues to be discussed at the subject “twenty-six session” symposium for ASME 2001 IMECE, with trends of our time and the originally proposed symposium concept taken into consideration.
