Abstract:
Application of Python programming language in automation of measurement systems and creating virtual instruments is discussed in this paper. Requirements imposed to the software in order to perform these tasks are listed, and Python modules that support them are presented. Application of proposed techniques are illustrated in seven examples in different application areas. Analysis of software evolution, as well as the evolution of professional education yields conclusion that application of Python in automating measurement systems is promising.

The article deals with the issues related to the choice of programming language for initial training in programming at school. The choice of Python as the main programming language in the basic course of informatics in grades 7–9 is justified. The characteristics of Python whose allow to recommend it for initial programming training in school are described. The article also presents the results of a survey of informatics teachers who have been teaching programming on Python for several years at informatics lessons in grades 7–9.

Object-Z is an object-oriented specification language which extends the Z language with classes, objects, inheritance and polymorphism that can be used to represent the specification of a complex system as collections of objects. There are a number of existing works that mapped Object-Z to C++ and Java programming languages. Since Python and Object-Z share many similarities, both are object-oriented paradigm, support set theory and predicate calculus moreover, Python is a functional programming language which is naturally closer to formal specifications, we propose a mapping from Object-Z spec

The article discusses issues related to studying the Python programming language in an informatics course and improving students' understanding of such a programming language structure as an array or list. To achieve this goal, one meaningful example is used, that is modeling the operation of an electronic clock display in a text interface. First, patterns of numbers are developed to represent them on the scoreboard, and topics related to the study of matrices or lists of strings can be better developed. Next, the task is implemented using the Python programming language, while functions are u

The importance of software continues to grow for all areas of scientific research, no less for powder diffraction. Knowing how to program a computer is a basic and useful skill for scientists. This paper explains the three approaches for programming languages and why scripting languages are preferred for non-expert programmers. The Python-scripting language is extremely efficient for science and its use by scientists is growing. Python is also one of the easiest languages to learn. The language is introduced, as well as a few of the many add-on packages available that extend its capabilities,
