Abstract:
LANGUAGE NOTE | Document text in Chinese; abstract also in English. This study seeks to build an evaluation model for physical education. Based on the concept of physical education quality, the questionnaire for physical education is constructed. Binominal probability distribution theory is applied to evaluate the proportion of the degree of importance and satisfaction for physical education. To evaluate the quality of physical education, the PZB concept proposed by Parasurman, Zeithaml and Berry (1985) is used to test the difference between the proportion of the degree of importance and satisfaction. Each quality performance item of education could be evaluated by figuring out the difference between the proportion of the degree of importance and satisfaction, therefore the improvement or correction could be taken if needed.

Abstract:
This study evaluates passenger satisfaction from the perspective of service quality. The sample was collected by sending questionnaires from two perspectives; ferry passengers and ferry company employees at Merak-Bakauheni port in Indonesia. The PZB model is used for gap analysis and SERVQUAL dimension to assess and evaluate the service quality. The results show gaps between passenger satisfaction and ferry service quality at the Merak port - Bakauheni port. Data analysis using t-pairwise statistical method. The analysis found that gap 1; gap in perspective between the passenger expectations service and the ferry companies perceptions of their passengers expectation is very large, with the largest attributes from tangibles dimension. The largest gap of attributes from that dimension is “convenience store at the terminal.” In gap 5, the perceptions of passengers' expected and their perceived of service showed that the attribute of “Ferry service provides online services to facilitate customers” as the largest gap. Thus, from this study, ferry services need to make reformation, especially in the attribute that has a large gap. Moreover, this study provides an overview to ferry service in Indonesia to enhance their service quality.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT Unicellular marine cyanobacteria are ubiquitous in both coastal and oligotrophic regimes. The contribution of these organisms to primary production and nutrient cycling is substantial on a global scale. Natural populations of marine Synechococcus strains include multiple genetic lineages, but the link, if any, between unique phenotypic traits and specific genetic groups is still not understood. We studied the genetic diversity (as determined by the DNA-dependent RNA polymerase rpoC1 gene sequence) of a set of marineSynechococcus isolates that are able to swim. Our results show that these isolates form a monophyletic group. This finding represents the first example of correspondence between a physiological trait and a phylogenetic group in marine Synechococcus. In contrast, the phycourobilin (PUB)/phycoerythrobilin (PEB) pigment ratios of members of the motile clade varied considerably. An isolate obtained from the California Current (strain CC9703) displayed a pigment signature identical to that of nonmotile strain WH7803, which is considered a model for low-PUB/PEB-ratio strains, whereas several motile strains had higher PUB/PEB ratios than strain WH8103, which is considered a model for high-PUB/PEB-ratio strains. These findings indicate that the PUB/PEB pigment ratio is not a useful characteristic for defining phylogenetic groups of marine Synechococcusstrains.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Generalized cross-spring pivots (CSPs) are widely used as revolute joints in precision machinery. However, pseudo-rigid-body (PRB) models cannot capture the parasitic motions of a generalized CSP exactly under combined loads; moreover, the characteristic parameters used in PRB methods must be recomputed using optimization techniques. In this study, we develop two simple and accurate PRB models for generalized CSPs. First, a PRB method for a beam is developed based on the beam constraint model and the instantaneous center model, where the beam is modeled as two rigid links joined at a pivot via a torsion spring. Subsequently, two PRB models of the generalized CSP, comprising a four-bar model for accuracy and a pin-joint model for stiffness, are constructed based on a kinematic analysis using the proposed PRB method. A deflection characteristic analysis is then conducted to determine the relationship between the proposed model and the existing models. Finally, the PRB models for the pivot under the action of combined loads are validated via finite element analysis. The error evaluation indicates that the proposed PRB models are more accurate than the results from existing methods. The PRB models proposed here can be used in parametric design of compliant mechanisms.

In the1980s~1990s,"quality"was one of the topics which enterprises most often discussed. Reviewing the quality revolution which started in the 1980s initially, it secomes cleas the quality revolution was not only limited to the Manufacturing industry, but in fact has affected all service organizations, and even influenced governmental agencies, therefore the importance of quality management control starting at that early period up to now can deduced. In 1985, Parasuraman, Zeithaml and Berry proposed the service quality gap model (PZB model). They thought the comparison between "the customer expected the service"and "the customer actually feels the service" serves quality. This model has five gaps. This study uses research of that applied System Thinking integrity characteristics, draws on the complex interaction relations explained by Causal Feedback Loop Diagrams in the PZB model between five gaps, so as to understand each gap’s possible influence with the system mode which locates. It discovers reduces each gap suitably to cut into the main point, carries on each gap the improvement. Moreover, this research also accidentally discovered a PZB model not yet discusses gap, may use the gap to form the quality improvement the benign competition, urges the service which the company and the competitor provides all to be able to be increasingly good.

With the rapid development of technology and global competition, firms are becoming more and more difficult to obtain their competitive advantages merely from products they sell. Customers nowadays can access product information easily and they tend to be more critical not only for product quality but also the service provided by the firm. Company A has been in the LED industry in southern Taiwan for more than 27 years and it is the leading firm for full-color monitors. However, since 2010 Company A’s profits has begun to decrease due to the competition of low-price LED providers from China. In order to deal with this challenge, Company A has begun to reduce operating costs and implemented standardized control process. In addition, Company A invests efforts in training employees to increase service quality to keep Company A’s brand image and reputation. This study analyzed the LED industry and further explored service gaps of company A. Survey questionnaires and in-depth interviews were employed to collect data needed for this research. PZB model was used to analyze Company A’s service gaps. Then several managerial implications and suggestion are provided for Company A to improve service quality and performance.

The service quality model, proposed by Parasuraman, Zeithaml, and Berry was the first to consider service quality. The PZB model defines the perceived service quality (PSQ) as the difference between the expected service (ES) and the perceived service (PS). Since 1985, Parasuraman, Zeithaml, and Berry have continued to develop the PZB service quality model; much of this development has been referenced in large-scale studies related to service quality. This study explores the development of the PZB service quality model and provides detailed analyses of the thematic focuses at each stage in their research, including gap model, the SERVQUAL scale, and the zone of tolerance. SHIN KONG MITSUKOSHI department store is chosen to be the case of the PZB service quality, the three-column format questionnaire is adopted to identify service shortfall more accurately by measuring customers’ minimum service level, desired service level and perception of company’s service performance. The result indicates that customers’ perception all of the 22 items are higher than the minimum service level. Though it means that customers consider that this case’s service performance is adequate, we also can understand which attribute should be improved through three-column format SERVQUAL questionnaire.

The Administrative organ organizes to establish the material laboratory to guarantee that the public works construction quality is a goal, but under the limited manpower, the equipment and the budget, the project sponsor institution often entrusts the qualified material testing institution to handle. In the contractor between inquired that between material laboratory the examination is easy to obtain the qualified survey report, but the project sponsor institution often suggested by the manufacturer the material laboratory achievement handles the examination the qualified place, handles the public works to the Administrative organ often to suffer the common populace to taunt “cheats on labor and materials” and so on circumstances to occur. Therefore, the public works material inspection in the Administrative organ is a construction quality guarantee. When the government handles the public works, whether its construction material's quality does conform to the contract stipulation is very important. At present provides objectively, fair, the independent survey report, is by acts third party's material laboratory to provide this service, therefore the material laboratory has the important role in the public works quality's management, but selects the most advantageous sign method in the Gaoxiong County government to handle the request and to work out the contract way with the material laboratory, actually guaranteed that the qualified material laboratory can not manipulate by the manufacturer establishes the fair third party's role. This research uses the PZB service quality pattern, discusses the application feasibility in the appraisal public works request material laboratory service quality, and revises “SERVQUAL” after the interview the meter handles the questionnaire survey. The findings showed that revises the meter by the PZB pattern, may apply service of quality outside the appraisal public works request material laboratory, and after questionnaire survey by the dependency sample T examination, its material laboratory service quality expects and during the actual cognition has the obvious disparity, and between various factors construction surface obviously presents is being related, takes advantage of this may grasp the customer need, and as improvement service quality target.

In order to find out the service demand that mobile payment service has a greater impact on consumers, the industry can be used as a business strategy to enhance the appeal of the service. This paper examines the key quality attributes of mobile payment services through focus group interviews and Kano two-dimensional quality model and PZB service quality gap. After constructing the action payment service quality model, it sorts the importance and finds the service items that need to be urgently improved or added. This article reviews the evolution of action payments compiled by scholars in the past, and cuts into the survey of service quality from the perspective of consumers. Focus group interviews can guide users to propose effective and broad-based needs based on their past experience and external communication of products, and add or replace the original model facets with service quality facets that have not been excavated in the past. In the course of this interview, the “convenience” facet was found to be a service quality facet that was not adopted by PZB but was in line with current mobile payments. Most users think that it is better to have a third-party payment function for mobile payments. The results show that the operator should improve costs by shifting to quality of service factors with higher consumer satisfaction and dissatisfaction factors. Give priority to how to reduce customer dissatisfaction, and then consider improving satisfaction.

The purpose of the study uses the background variables (gender, age, education, department, resident area, parents’ education degree, mainly surfing place, connection way, computer using experience, surfing experience, occupation) and study style variables (Kolb learning style), by the application of PZB service quality model, to build a set of assessments regarding the index of the learning quality on web-based education for the K University and the T extension classes. By collecting related data from questionnaire and statistical analysis, the service qualities (gaps) between the expected and perceived parts due to the effects of different variables had been discussed. The analysis results were then interviewed and the improving methods were proposed by the professional faculties to understand the learning quality problems and the difficulties at the present time. There are five aspects which are “Tangibles”, “Reliability”, “Responsiveness”, “Assurance” and “Empathy”, respectively, for the assessments of the learning quality on web-based education in the study. According to the Likert-type scale, the scores of respective aspect question items had been averaged. Secondly (in the Service Quality GAP5 part), 1. In the Expected part, the students pay more attention on the “Responsiveness” aspect for the K University. As for the T extension classes, the students focus on the “Tangibles” aspect. 2.Secondly, in the Perceived part, the students is not satisfied with “Empathy” aspect for the K University. As for the T extension classes, the students is not satisfied with “Assurance” aspect. Furthermore, the results also showed that values of the perceived level parts are much lower than the expected ones and there are significant differences in service qualities. Therefore, there is plenty of room for the two individual cases to improve learning quality.

In conventional manufacturing sector, product quality is always defined in terms of physical features. Nowadays, whatever we are in manufacturing or service industry, the quality of products should be measured in terms of at least both physical features and some invisible requirements of service. The service quality, which is strongly related to customer satisfaction, plays an important role in manufacturing sector. In this study, we aim to focus on how to improve the service quality and so customer satisfaction, and propose an approach for a LCD module manufacturing company. From the characteristics of service quality, we know that service can be obtained only when both sales and manufacturing activities simultaneously occur. However, the quality of service is not easy to measure due to its subjective and objective factors. Therefore, in this study, we adopt quality, cost, delivery, and service as four important factors to investigate the product expectation and satisfaction from customers. Both PZB service quality extended model and SERVQUAL measurement model are used to reduce the discrepancy between the company expectation and customer satisfaction. We collect questionnaire data from thirty companies and analyze these data for recommendation of improvement. Results of this study suggest that the proposed approach can help companies eliminate or reduce customer complain and enhance customer satisfaction.

Taiwan Railway has created its glory, playing an important role in the transport backbone. In recent years, there are changes of transport markets due to the increase of per capita income, the rise of the public passenger transport industry and the blooming of domestic aviation. The high-speed railway shortens the distances between the north and south by the time it was open in early 2008.In order to catch up with the high-speed railway, the Taiwan Railway, without exception, reforms to improve the operating conditions. But in fact, Upgrading service quality is the key to achieve sustainable volumes. This study is to explore the Taiwan Railway quality of service to take in the long-distance consumers and the Taiwan Railway experts with scholars for data collection and interviews object, using the PZB model for the foundation, constructed Delphi questionnaires, and interviews through questionnaires, carried out a questionnaire with the amendment of corrections to the Taiwan Railway Construction service quality level structure. Finally use AHP by the Taiwan Railway service quality indicators to measure the sort, establishment of the Taiwan Railway service quality indicators. As the results of this study, we found that two ways to improve the Taiwan Railway service quality by ground staff take training activities with the help of government; or trained by Taiwan Railway internally in parallel.

Abstract:
AbstractThe main aim of the FENIX project is the development of new business models and industrial strategies for three novel supply chains in order to enable value-added product-services. Through a set of success stories coming from the application of circular economy principles in different industrial sectors, FENIX wants to demonstrate in practice the real benefits coming from its adoption. In addition, Key Enabling Technologies (KETs) will be integrated within the selected processes to improve the efficient recovery of secondary resources. In this sense, among the available KETs, the adoption of digital and advanced automated solutions allows companies to re-thinking their business strategies, trying to cope with even more severe environmental requirements. Among these technological solutions, the paradigm of Industry 4.0 (I4.0) is the most popular. I4.0 entails the development of a new concept of economic policy based on high-tech strategies and internet-connected technologies allowing the creation of added-value for organizations and society. Unlike the activities developed in T3.1, related to the development and implementation of simulation tools and models for the smartphones’ disassembly process optimization, here the attention has been spent in managing and optimizing a new semi-automated PCBs disassembly station. The disassembly of products is a key process in the treatment of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment. When performed efficiently, it enables the maximization of resources re-usage and a minimization of pollution. Within the I4.0 paradigm, collaborative robots (co-bots in short) can safely interact with humans and learn from them. This flexibility makes them suitable for supporting current CE practices, especially during disassembly and remanufacturing operations. D3.2 focuses on describing the semi-automated PCB disassembly process implemented at the POLIMI’s Industry 4.0 Lab, aiming to demonstrate in practice the benefits of exploiting I4.0 technologies in PCB disassembly processes. Results highlight how a semi-automated cell where operators and cobots works together can allow a better management of both repetitive and specific activities, the safe interaction of cobots with operators and the simple management of the high variability related with different kinds of PCBs.

Abstract:
The transient response of a PBGA256 assembly to random excitation is explored with quasi-static and transient finite element analysis, as well as with experiments. The quasi-static approximation is based on the first modal contribution to the measured PWB response. The dynamic prediction for solder strain and resulting damage accumulation rate are found to be significantly larger than in the quasi-static approximation. The quasi-static model is clearly missing additional stress drivers such as the dynamic movement of the component relative to the PWB and higher resonant modes of PWB flexure. The dynamic mode of the component is verified in this paper with two accelerometers placed on the component and on the PWB. Investigation of the higher modes of the PWB is deferred to a future study.

Abstract:
Piezoelectric, magnetic and shape memory alloy (SMA) materials offer unique capabilities for energy harvesting and reduced energy requirements in aerospace, aeronautic, automotive, industrial and biomedical applications. However, all of these materials exhibit creep, rate-dependent hysteresis, and constitutive nonlinearities that must be incorporated in models and model-based control designs to achieve their full potential. Furthermore, models and control designs must be constructed in a manner that incorporates parameter and model uncertainties and permits predictions with quantified uncertainties. In this presentation, we compare the Euler-Bernoulli and Timoshenko beam models for a cantilever beam with an applied PZT patch to illustrate parameter estimation in the presence of model discrepancy.

Abstract:
Abstract Printed Circuit Board (PCB) assemblies are moving toward lead-free (LF) alloys and away from the traditional Sn-Pb alloy [1]. This change is creating new and unique failure modes as the process adapts to accommodate the higher temperatures of the new process [2]. In addition, mis-processed lots are more likely due to the complexity of assembling a mix of Sn-Pb and leadfree solders, components, PCBs, solder pastes, and fluxes. This case study helps to highlight the challenge and provides an example of what can happen, how to detect it, and how the defects can cause reliability failures.

Abstract:
Modeling flexible beams that undergo large deflection is one of the key steps in analyzing and synthesizing compliant mechanisms. Geometric nonlinearities introduced by large deflections often complicate the analysis of mechanism systems comprising such members. Several pseudo-rigid-body (PRB) or multi segment models in the literature have been proposed to approximate the tip deflection and slope. However these models are either dependent on external loads or too complicated to analyze. They are neither appropriate for analyzing mechanisms in which loads change significantly as they move, nor for synthesizing mechanisms where a parametric model is preferred. In this paper, a load independent PRB 3R model which comprises of four rigid links joined by three revolute joints and three torsion springs is proposed. The traditional PRB 1R models are first studied for both small deflection beams and large deflection beams. These studies provide fundamental insights to the geometric nonlinearity of large deflection beams. Numerical integration is applied to compute tip deflections for various loads. A three-dimensional search routine has been developed to find the optimal set of characteristic radius factors for the proposed PRB 3R model. Detailed error analysis and comparison against the result by the numerical integration and the PRB 1R model are accomplished for different load modes. The benefits of the PRB 3R model include (a) high accuracy for large deflection beams, (b) load independence which is critical for applications where loads vary significantly and (c) explicit kinematic and static constraint equations derived from the model. To demonstrate the use of the PRB 3R model, a compliant 4-bar linkage is studied and verified by a numerical example. The result shows a maximum tip deflection error of 1.2% compared with the FEA model.

Abstract:
This paper presents an experimental study on active vibration control of a moving 3-PRR parallel manipulator with three flexible intermediate links, with bonded lead zirconate titanate (PZT) actuators and sensors. Experimental modal tests are conducted to identify structural vibration mode shapes and natural frequencies used. These modal tests provide guidance to design the filter and determine the location of PZT transducers. A PZT actuator controller is developed based on strain rate feedback (SRF) control. A state-space model is formulated with the control input voltage applied to PZT actuators, and output generated from PZT sensors. Then, the design of an optimal active vibration controller is presented based on SRF for the parallel manipulator with flexible links with multiple bonded PZT transducers. Active vibration control experiments are conducted to demonstrate that the proposed active vibration control strategy is effective. Power spectral density (PSD) plots of vibrations illustrate that the structural vibration of flexible links is reduced effectively when the proposed vibration control strategy is employed.

Abstract:
In this paper, we present new Pseudo-Rigid-Body (PRB) models for clamped-free cantilever beams and pinned-free compliant links for predicting natural frequency in dynamics analysis. In recent decades, PRB models have been extensively studied for predicting statics and kinematics of 2D or 3D beams subject to large deformation under tip loads. However, few studies focus on their accuracy for predicting dynamic analysis. Not like in statics and kinematics, the mass distribution of PRB model plays an important factor in dynamics of compliant beams. In this paper, we introduce mass property parameters to the PRB models. By comparing with the continuous model, we search for the optimal set of mass property parameters for minimizing the error of natural frequency. To demonstrate the procedure, we study two cases: clamped-free cantilever beams and pinned-free compliant links both have an end mass. The results show that the natural frequency of the optimized PRB model well agrees with that from the continuous beam model. The modified PRB model will significantly simplify the dynamics modeling in compliant mechanisms.
