Abstract:
Quality has always been a key concern for product and service operations. Decades have been spent in research for quality measurement and enhancement techniques. Various models have time and again been proposed by researchers around the globe. Inspite of the constant rigor in the study of this concept, very few tools devised and defined by researchers and academicians have been successfully put to practice. The underlying phenomena in service quality measurement are indeed complex to understand, interpret and measure. Through this paper the authors intend to present the developments of one such quality tool which has the ability to generate creative and novel solutions is Quality Function Deployment (QFD). This paper presents a detailed literature review on the topic and application of QFD in higher education. This literature review is based on publications and web sources.

Abstract:
To utilize the concept of Quality Function Deployment (QFD) and apply it accordingly to address the design decisions concerning the quality of cellular phones by building the simplified version of House of Quality (HoQ). Real customer requirements (CRs) are easier to collect when QFD is employed because it puts the emphasis where it should be on the customer and their demands. After getting various users’ opinions on various smartphone brands and brainstorming among the group and conducted an online survey with mobile users in Taichung, Taiwan, the study highlights the items preferred by most of the users such as long-lasting battery, high quality camera, reliable, wide screen, easy to use, and lightweight. It aids businesses in translating CRs to the primary design requirements (DRs) so that it may create superior goods that are in line with consumer demands.

Abstract:
This study aims to identify the service attributes of the application needed by consumers of the Pegadaian Digital Service application. The research objective can be completed using the Quality Function Deployment method which is able to define consumer needs into the company's technical response in improving the quality of application services. The use of the Quality Function Deployment method in this study resulted in eight variables of consumer needs. The need variable with the highest weight value will be the priority. The product variables that are prioritized are Features, Applications, and Servers. The three highest priority consumer needs can be met by the company by carrying out 4 of the 18 technical responses that have the highest importance weight. The Technical Responses were "improvement of the database coding structure", "implementing the API system", "IT and Operational team training", and "adding Capacity Connecting Bandwidth".

Abstract:
In today’s competitive markets “quality” is a business imperative rather than a luxury. Increasingly in many markets “quality” is the price of entry and in others a major source of competitive advantage. The ability to design a “services package” that consistently meets the customers’ requirements is an important element of a successful quality improvement strategy. The inherent nature of “service package” complicates the design problems. Quality function deployment (QFD) is a systematic technique for designing products or services that are based on customers’ requirements. QFD, although traditionally associated with the design of physical products, is equally applicable to service design. Examines how Alitalia’s experience suggests that the use of QFD techniques allows the development of a service package which effectively meets the key customers’ requirements. Presents recommendations and a framework for the specific use of QFD by service organizations, which if utilized should secure competitive advantage.

Abstract:
Purpose The purpose of this paper is threefold: first, to draw health managers’, clinicians’, entrepreneurs’ and mobile apps designers’ attention toward new mobile health applications (mHealth apps); second, to define mHealth apps design characteristics intended for doctors; and third, to highlight how mHealth apps can be designed using quality function deployment/house of quality (QFD/HOQ) techniques from doctors’ perspectives. Design/methodology/approach Data were collected through a survey and in-depth interviews with doctors to understand their needs and attitudes toward mHealth apps. Analytic hierarchy process, QFD and HOQ methods were used to analyze data. Findings Doctors agreed that mHealth apps provide them with the tools to improve their service and to become more efficient. Once the 12 doctors’ wants were collected, they were prioritized according to their significance and used for mHealth apps development. Eight technical characteristics that cater to doctors’ expectations were sorted. The authors suggest that mHealth app designers need to provide design requirements recommended by health personnel for a higher satisfaction level. Originality/value Healthcare managers are focusing on increasing their efficiency, patient satisfaction and care quality, and decreasing costs. For these purposes, mHealth revolution and mHealth apps have high potential for improving doctor effectiveness and healthcare quality. This study is among the first to: define Turkish doctors’ wants from mHealth apps; elaborate the app’s technical characteristics; and increase design quality, which is implied in improving app design. This research makes a significant contribution to define doctors’ wants from mHealth apps, to elaborate their technical characteristics and to increase mHealth apps design quality using QFD.
