Abstract:
Abstract Quality of life is an issue taken into account increasingly more often as one of the main elements of the evaluation and in comparisons between countries, regions and communes (local governments). The aim of this article is to show the relationship between quality of life and quality of living in rural communities at varying levels of socio-economic development. The analysis of both aspects yields the opportunity to observe the relationship between objective resources of the local community as well as the level of their socio-economic condition and level of satisfaction of the inhabitants, the latter of which results from, inter alia, their ability to meet specific needs within the local environment. The presented analysis leads to several main conclusions. The first is that the rural residents who participated in the study were characterized by a relatively high satisfaction with their own lives. The main source of their life satisfaction was the family sphere. The greatest source of dissatisfaction was their financial situation. The second conclusion comes from the analysis of their subjective assessment of their quality of living in terms of the local commune. The examined residents overall positively assessed the conditions of living in their community. They were content, first and foremost, with the natural environment and security. The lowest level of satisfaction with living in the commune was associated with such aspects as technical infrastructure, transport links, activities of NGOs and political parties, and the lack of possibilities to exert influence on what is happening in the commune. However, it is difficult to specify general correlations that would clarify the relationship between quality of life and quality of living in rural communities. The regression analysis confirmed the weak link between these phenomena. The final conclusion confirms the thesis of the high heterogeneity and diversity of rural communes in Poland, even within a socially, culturally and economically coherent area of a voivodeship (province).

Abstract:
The poor machinability of titanium alloys results in the serious wear of the rake face of a ball-end milling tool. Previous studies indicated that the mesoscopic geometric characteristics of the tool can effectively improve the wear resistance. Therefore, in this thesis, a milling force model and a milling temperature model of a ball-end milling tool were established to verify the effect of the blunt and negative chamfer tool edges. Setting up a test platform for milling titanium alloy, the influence of mesoscopic geometric characteristic parameters on cutting performance of the ball-end milling tool was analyzed. In addition, based on the support vector regression and genetic algorithm, the optimal mesoscopic geometric characteristic parameters were obtained, which were under the four evaluation indices, such as mechanical–thermal characteristics, tool wear, and surface quality of the workpiece. It was verified experimentally that the tool life of the optimized micro-textured tools with the blunt and chamfer tool edges were improved by 33% and 25%, respectively, and the surface roughness was reduced by 26% and 23%, respectively, which were compared to the non-optimized tools. This thesis provides a reference for improving the processing efficiency and the quality of titanium alloys.

Abstract:
Healthy urban river ecosystem is the important symbol of the sustaining development of a city. This thesis discussed the issues of the ecosystem health situation of Panlong River, an urban river in Kunming city. This can provide the reference and scientific strategy for the government to renovate the urban river comprehensively. Using the comprehensive index evaluation method, we selected some indicators to characterize the main features and functions of urban river ecosystem to establish a comprehensive index system for evaluating urban river ecosystem health. These indicators included six aspects: water quality indicators, aquatic life indicators, hydrology indicators, river channel indicators, riparian zone indicators and social indicators. Total of them are 20 indicators. And the evaluation criteria was ascertained. Analytic hierarchy process (AHP) method was used to determine the weight of the indicators and the comprehensive assessment model was also built. Pilot study results indicate that the ecosystem of Panlong River in Kunming city is in the health status in 2011. The results showed that the comprehensive renovation of the Panlong River was very effective. Based on the ecosystem health assessment results of Panlong Rive and evaluation score of each indicator, we made certain the limiting factors that affect the urban river ecosystem health, which are vegetation of riparian zone, the water quality, aquatic habitat, the curve situation of the river channel, the form of bank protection, etc. And some suggestions were also provided for Panlong River ecological restoration.

Abstract:
Aim/Purpose: Understanding the educational needs of postgraduate research candidates (PGRs) is essential to facilitate development, support attainment, and maintain graduate quality. Background: The production and effective defence of the research thesis are the summative assessment tools used in postgraduate research education. Examiners’ reports provide a rich source of feedback and indicate the gap between the candidate’s level of performance and that expected for the award. This provides a lens through which to view the unmet training needs of PGR cohorts. Methodology: Following a review of all examiner reports for PGR assessments held over a 12 month period, we explored the quantitative and qualitative dimension data in context in order to identify common training needs for our PGR students. Utilising this theoretical framework and standard thematic analysis, we identified recurring themes and were able to determine key areas for future focus. Contribution: This study utilises independent comment from postgraduate research candidate thesis and oral examination assessment to identify unmet core research training needs. Findings: We recognised seven key areas identified by the examiners for improvement: i) quality of scientific writing, ii) general presentation of thesis, iii) statistics /data analysis, iv) understanding / critical appraisal, v) experimental design, vi) English language and vii) supervision. Academic literacy and numeracy stood out as key areas for future training focus. The results highlight areas for future focus in educational provision and targeted training for PGRs undertaking biomedical and life sciences research within our faculty. Recommendations for Practitioners: Evaluation of postgraduate research programmes should include feedback from a variety of sources and not rely solely on employability and completion rates as measures of success. The examination committees are an important source of feedback on the individual and the programme with regard to attainment of core research skills. Recommendation for Researchers: Regular and wide reaching evaluation of postgraduate research programmes and support available is required to ensure the sector can meet the changing needs of our PGR cohorts. Impact on Society: Doctoral graduates are entering increasingly diverse employment fields. Ensuring the quality of graduates and supporting their journey through candidature ensures the greatest value for society once in the work place. Future Research: This study highlights unmet training needs of PGRs as identified by an inde-pendent expert. The impact of engagement with training and the importance of prior experience are not explored in this study, nor is the student perspective on the process. These will reveal additional dimensions to the evaluation process.

Abstract:
IntroductionLong-term and late effects of cancer treatments can cause functional limitations and reduce quality of life. Cancer rehabilitation services, which can comprise physical exercise, psychological support and educational interventions depending on the individual’s needs, have been found to have a positive effect on health-related quality of life worldwide. However, accessibility or the lack of awareness on available help can act as barriers and influence the uptake of services, resulting in people having unmet rehabilitation needs. In Wales, UK, 41% of people, who have had health and social care needs resulting from cancer and its treatments, reported that they did not receive care when needed. The reason for this lack of support has not yet been fully investigated. The aim of this study is to investigate the conditions in which cancer rehabilitation services work and their underpinning mechanisms in South Wales, UK, specifically addressing barriers, facilitators and costs. Methods and analysisRealist evaluation, which explains for whom a service works in what circumstances and how through context-mechanism-outcome pattern conjunctions, will be used in three phases to investigate the conditions in which cancer rehabilitation services work and their underpinning mechanisms. Phase 1 will be secondary analysis of a cancer rehabilitation database from a local Health Board to give context to who are accessing rehabilitation. Phase 2 will be thematic analysis of face-to-face, semistructured rehabilitation participant (n=20) and healthcare professional (n=20) interviews to explore the mechanisms of how cancer rehabilitation works. Phase 3 will be two case studies and cost-consequences analysis of cancer rehabilitation services.Ethics and disseminationThis study received favourable ethical opinion from London South-East Research Ethics Committee (17/LO/2123) in December 2017. This project is part of the author’s PhD thesis and it is expected that the findings will be disseminated in academic journals and at local and international conferences.

Abstract:
Today, with the rapid development of urbanization, the ecological and environmental problems of the city have become increasingly serious and have become the focus of the world. The most important issue facing the majority of ecological workers is how to apply the theory of ecology to solve today’s problems. The various environmental problems faced in urban life and the sustainable development of the city’s ecological civilization. How ecological planning is used to coordinate the relationship between people and the natural environment and natural resources is increasingly gaining attention and expanding the range and scope of its applications. However, as an ecological suitability analysis based on ecological planning, many analytical methods and systems are still being explored and developed due to the geographical complexity and factor diversity involved. In recent years, with the rapid development of computer hardware and software technology, pattern recognition has received more and more attention, pattern recognition and image processing technology has become more and more perfect, and has been successfully applied in more and more fields. This thesis begins to focus on the urban ecological suitability content based on pattern recognition technology and image processing. The main contents of this thesis include: introducing the background of urban ecological suitability and the status quo of ecological suitability analysis and existing research methods. According to the structure of the urban ecosystem and the national standards for the construction of ecological systems and ecological cities, an indicator system for ecological suitability evaluation is established. A pattern recognition system and common pattern recognition and image processing methods are introduced. Based on some common evaluation methods and models, the pattern recognition technology theory and image processing technology are introduced into the urban ecological suitability analysis. Based on the image system theory and vector projection principle, the ecological suitability analysis is established. Associated projection model. The model considers the evaluation sample and the quality standards at each level as vectors, and respectively projects the same vector ideal. Based on establishing the ecological suitability evaluation index system and standards, the ecological suitability was evaluated by using the model.

Abstract:
Leaf lettuce is a major and widely cultivated vegetable crop. Leaf lettuce is preferred for wrapping food, like rice or meat, and is much more popular than head lettuce in Korea. Color change and water loss condition are most important factor for buying decision as external quality. This paper studied color change during storage at 20 and 4 °C, 60% RH. The color analysis of adaxial surface of leaf lettuce during shelf-life storage condition showed that Hunter L and a value increased slightly after 5 days of harvest, while delta-Eab started increasing after 3 days of postharvest. Chlorophyll content decreased by half during the first 5 days after harvest. These color changes, however, could not explain the changes in leaf chlorophyll content while the color intensity of G (green) component in RGB analysis showed a close relationship with leaf chlorophyll content changes. Visual quality score showed that lettuce may kept its marketability up to 5 days after harvest. But, in refrigerator (4°C, 60% RH, cold chain system) storage condition. Leaf color is about three times longer than shelf-life. Theses results of each evaluation methods consistently demonstrated that leaf lettuce may keep its marketability up to 5 days in a distribution market without color quality damage.

Abstract:
Nano medicine is a revolutionizing field that can benefit both diagnosis and treatment and contribute to a better quality of life. Despite the expected huge benefits, the potential risks on human health are significant as well. This thesis aims to defense a perspective that in case of nascent technologies, where the data are still emerging and scientific uncertainty prevails, risk governance should sustain the process of scientific knowledge by developing guidelines, codes of conduct and public information and provide a minimum level of safety acceptable to protect human health. Although Nano medicine is at an early stage of development some cautious measures should be taken that will provide regulatory mechanisms able to respond to the challenges posed by Nano medicine, establish a minimum level of safety but will also allow the further promotion of scientific knowledge. This multidisciplinary approach can contribute in adopting regulatory choices and tools that will help manage the risks, protect human health and promote scientific knowledge. As the technologies are designed based on a clear understanding of a particular disease, disease specific oriented focus is required for the development of novel pharmaceuticals. In addition, it will be important to establish a case-by-case approach to clinical and regulatory evaluation of each Nano pharmaceutical. High priority should be given to enhancing communication and exchange of information among academia, industry and regulatory agencies encompassing all facets of this multidisciplinary approach.

Abstract:
PURPOSE This thesis focuses on the research of the observation of curative effect of Dahuang-Mudan decoction(DMD) applied among the patients receiving chemotherapy in post operation of colon carcinoma. METHOD The selected cases of research have been 130 postoperative patients of colon carcinoma who had acquired hospitalization in some tertiary-grade A class hospital from June 2018 to December 2019, all of which are devided into two respetive groups by random number-- the Routine Group(RG) and the Contrast Group(CG), each containing 65 cases. Patients in RG get solely chemotherapy for rehabilitation, while the use of DMD is being added to patients in CG on the basis of standards in RG. After a certain period of treatment, some contrasts would be done in overall efficacy rate, the first anal exsufflation in post-operation, possibilities of complication and quality evaluation on life. RESULT After related treatment of DMD, patients in CG perform remarkably better in aspects of overall efficacy, the first anal exsufflation in post-operation, possibilities of complication occurence and quality evaluation on life than those in RG. CONCLUSION The use of DMD for postoperative patients of colon carcinoma who are receiving chemical treatment produces remarkable curative effect and vast value of clinical application, thus further promotion and practice could be positively adopted. Colon carcinoma is clinically a malignant tumor frequently affecting in digestive system, occurring at the connection of sigmoid colon and rectum. With the continueous change of people’s diet constructure and tempo of life, the morbidity toll of colon carcinoma has seen a tendency of increase year by year. The age section of most of patients mainly lays between 35 to 55 years old in clinical, while male patients have suffered a higher morbidity than female ones, and the gender ratio could be a near 2:1[1]. The aetiological agent of colon carsinoma could be tightly connected to a diet that is high in fat and low in dietry fiber. A preference for high-fat food with low dietry fiber may incur chronic colonitis and intestinal polyps, which may further deteriorate into colon carcinoma. For clinical front line, the main method for the treatment of colon carcinoma is related operation at its core, along with a variety of postoperative adjuvant therapies. Western medicine tends to adopt chemotherapy, but the clinical effect could be less ideal for the patients while a number of side-effects may also emerge easily. The chinese traditional medicine tends to apply a dialectic therapy at core for the treatment, and the combination therapy including dialectic therapy and chemotherapy has gradually become a mainstream method for the treatment of colon carcinoma due to facual effectiveness of ameliorating curative-effects and reducing side-effects[2]. This research focuses on an analysis of the actual clinical curative-effects of DMD applied on patients who are receiving postoperative chemotherapy of colon carcinoma.

Abstract:
e21579 Background: Heart disease is the most common and serious chronic illness observed in sarcoma survivors treated with doxorubicin. Now the commonest heart disease in theses survivors is coronary artery disease (CAD). We established a Sarcoma Survivorship Program to include patients at high risk of chronic illness including exposure to doxorubicin who are at least 2 years free of disease post treatment. Methods: Every 6 months patients electronically complete NIH’s PROMIS (Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System) questionnaires (on Anxiety, Depression, Mobility, Pain Interference, Sleep Disturbance, and Physical Function). Detailed family history is documented. Chemotherapy doses are abstracted from original medical records. Data collected includes: blood pressure, lipid profile, high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), basic metabolic panel, chemistries, renal and pulmonary function, expert echocardiography. All patients signed an IRB approved informed consent. Results: All patients had normal left ventricular ejection fractions (median = 60%) yet 8 (N = 24) patients had an elevated hs-CRP suggesting increased risk of early CAD. 10 patients had untreated hypertension. More than half of our patients have a BMI > 25 and self-declare that they do not exercise. Our high rate of family history of heart disease (58%) raises the issue of genetic predisposition both to heart disease and sarcoma. We compared standardized cardiac risk assessments with mediastinal calcification and epicardial fat on serial chest CT scans. A 39 y.o. man had a coronary calcium score > 400 Agatston units and scattered calcifications were found in 4 additional patients under the age of 40. Conclusions: This survivorship phase of oncologic care represents a unique opportunity to improve the health and quality of life for sarcoma survivors as well as a new focus for translational research to understand mechanisms driving premature aging and chronic heart disease. We assess cardiomyocyte function (cell viability, organization, fibrosis, electrical coupling and contractility) for survivors and matched sibling controls with cells from skin biopsy using 3D bioengineering techniques to culture and mature the phenotype from human stem cells.

Abstract:
IntroductionObsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a mental health condition associated with severe impairment in a variety of quality of life domains, an increased physical health burden, and a higher risk of general medical conditions and mortality compared with the general population. While there is a large amount of literature on psychological quality of life, a systematic review of perceived physical health in OCD is lacking. A quantitative summary might suggest that policy makers also focus the evaluation on perceived physical health and develop new strategies also aimed at this outcome. The current paper presents a protocol for the first systematic review and meta-analysis aimed at summarising perceived physical health in OCD by specifically examining perceived physical health status, bodily pain and role limitations due to physical problems in patients with OCD compared with controls. The review will also investigate potential demographic and clinical moderators of perceived physical health status (age, gender, OCD severity, publication date, methodological quality). Methods and analysisA systematic review and meta-analysis will be conducted according to PRISMA guidelines. Studies will be included if using a clinical group with a current primary diagnosis of OCD established by international standardised criteria, if measuring perceived physical health status, and if using screened or community participants as controls. No publication date or language restriction will be applied. An online systematic search of electronic databases (Scopus, PubMed, PsycINFO, EMBASE, Cochrane Library), and examination of conference proceedings and theses/dissertations will be conducted by independent reviewers. Risk of bias will be assessed through the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale.Ethics and disseminationThe current review does not require ethics approval. Abstract:
KPD residential buildings, although simple and discrete, are emblematic of Chile. Their story in this country starts with an earthquake and is intertwined with the antagonistic governments of Salvador Allende and Augusto Pinochet. These buildings have remained outside current thermal regulations, and have become part of an extensive built housing stock that need to be diagnosed in terms of energy, to align them with domestic thermal requirements and, in this way, improve the quality of life of their inhabitants and contribute to what Chile has already committed to in terms of carbon neutrality. This article presents a thermal comfort evaluation case study of a KPD residential building complex in the Metropolitan Region. Concretely, four buildings are analyzed, each with the same materials and distribution, but with different orientations. The evaluation methodology considered a three-fold approach: regulatory, labeling and subjective and involved their inhabitants in the diagnosis, who had constantly and inexplicably been marginalized in previous analyses of their own homes. The results show discrepancies between the residents’ perception and the comfort range used by the current energy rating system in Chile.

Abstract:
With the swift development of technology, the distance among people’s hearts surprisingly becomes further and further. Residents living in the congested cities feel more lonely than those who inhabit countryside. The mass media makes them consider ever ything at hand stereotyped. They parrot their designated work again and again, without passion or enthusiasm. Hence facing these social predicaments and interior struggle, Robert M. Pirsig embarks on a trip to cross America by motorcycle, in order to gain spiritual epiphany and freedom. Therefore, he finds quality is the panacea that may solve the present problems. Quality has a long history, which is closely analogous to Plato’s goodness. Quality is one, just as the supreme spirit in the Buddhist Upanishad whose universe and ego are identical. However, modern technology lacks of oneness, so that each time touching it, people only feel cruel and ugly since both the creator and the owner do not have the sense of identity for their innovative or possessive things. The injection of quality into technology may break through the difficulties resulting from the traditional method of dichotomy for the reason that quality spurs technology to melt nature and human’s soul, creating something that exceeds the two. This thesis aims to probe the meaning of quality and the account of modern crisis caused by the absence of quality. The last part points out how to reconcile the conflict between human’s value and technological needs, so as to achieve the ultimate goal that enhances people’s happiness.

Abstract:
A review article devoted to the book of Andrzej Blikle – Doktryna jakości. Rzecz o skutecznym zarządzaniu. As pointed out by the Author, the book is a case of a work rare on the Polish publishing market, written by an outstanding scientist, who successfully runs a business activity. The combination of practical experience with theoretical knowledge gave a result that may be satisfying both for practitioners as well as theorists, and also those who want to get to know the ins and outs of an effective and efficient business management. The Author of the review believes that it is an important voice for shaping an inclusive socio-economic system, which constitutes a value in itself. Although the book is mainly concerned with business management, its message has a much wider dimension and is concerned with real measures of wealth, money and people’s lives. The book was awarded The SGH Collegium of Business Administration Award “For the best scientific work in the field of business administration in the years 2014-2015”. Andrzej Jacek Blikle Doktryna jakości. Rzecz o skutecznym zarządzaniu (The Doctrine of Quality. On Effective Management) Gliwice, Helion Publishing Company, 2014, p. 546 Introduction One of the distinctive features of the contemporary economy and contemporary world is a kind of obsession of quantity which is related to thoughtless consumerism, unfavourable to the care for the quality of the work and the quality of the produced and consumed goods and services. It is accompanied by culture (or rather non-culture) of singleness. Therefore, the book The Doctrine of Quality by Andrzej Blikle is like a breath of fresh air. It is a different perspective on the economy and the model of operation of enterprises, on the model of work and life of people. A. Blikle proves that it can be done otherwise. He proves it on the basis of careful studies of the source literature – as expected from a professor of mathematics and an economist, but also on the basis of his own experience gained during the scientific and educational work, and most of all through the economic practice. In the world governed by the obsession of quantity, characterised by fragility, shortness of human relationships, including the relationship of the entrepreneur – employee, A. Blikle chooses durability of these relations, creativity, responsibility, quality of work and production, and ethics. The Doctrine of Quality is a rare example of the work on the Polish publishing market, whose author is a prominent scientist, successfully conducting a business activity for more than two decades, which has contributed to the development of the family company – a known confectionery brand “A. Blikle”. The combination of practical experience with theoretical knowledge gave a result that may be satisfying both for practitioners as well as theorists, and also those who want to get to know the ins and outs of an effective and efficient business management, or develop the knowledge on this topic. In an attractive, clear narrative form, the author comprehensively presents the complexities of business management, indicating the sources of success, but also the reasons and the foundations of failures. At the same time, he presents these issues with an interdisciplinary approach, which contributes to thoroughness of the arguments and deeper reflections. Holism, typical to this book, is also expressed in the focus of A. Blikle not only on the economic, but also on social and ecological issues. Here, the author points to the possibility and need of reconciliation of the economic interests with social interests, and the care for the public good. Analyses of this subject are presented using the achievements of many areas of studies, in addition to economic sciences, including mathematics, sociology, psychology, medicine, and others. This gives a comprehensive picture of the complexity of business management – taking into account its close and distant environment. There are no longueurs in the book, although extensive (over 500 pages), or lengthy, or even unnecessary reasoning overwhelming the reader, as the text is illustrated with a number of examples from practice, and coloured with anecdotes. At the same time, the author does not avoid using expressions popular in the world of (not only) business. He proves that a motivational system which is not based on the approach of “carrot and stick” and without a devastating competition of a “rat race” is possible. The author supports his arguments with references not only to the interdisciplinary scientific achievements, but also to the economic historical experiences and to a variety of older and newer business models. There is a clear fascination with the reserves of creativity and productivity in the humanization of work. In fact, the author strongly exposes the potential of productivity and creativity in creating the conditions and atmosphere of work fostering elimination of fear of the future. He shows that such fear destroys creativity. It is not a coincidence that A. Blikle refers to the Fordist principles, including the warning that manufacturing and business do not consist of cheap buying and expensive selling. He reminds that Henry Ford, a legendary creator of the development of the automotive industry in the United States, put serving the public before the profit. The Doctrine of Quality is at the same time a book – proof that one of the most dangerous misconceptions or errors in the contemporary understanding of economics is finding that it is a science of making money, chremastics. Edmund Phelps and others warned against this in the year of the outbreak of the financial crisis in the USA in 2008, reminding that economics is not a science of making money but a science of relations between the economy and social life [Phelps, 2008]. Economics is a science of people in the process of management. Therefore, by definition, it applies to social values and ethos. Ethos is a general set of values, standards and models of proceedings adopted by a particular group of people. In this sense, ethos and economics as a science of people in the process of management are inseparable. Detaching economics from morality is in contradiction to the classical Smithian concept of economics, as Adam Smith combined the idea of the free market with morality. He treated his first work, The Theory of Moral Sentiments, as an inseparable basis for deliberations on the nature and causes of the wealth of nations, which was the subject of the subsequent work of this thinker [Smith, 1989; Smith, 2012]. Identifying economics with chremastics would then mean that all actions are acceptable and desired, if their outcome is earnings, profit, money. The book of A. Blikle denies it. It contains a number of case studies, which also stimulate broader reflections. Therefore, and also due to the features indicated above, it can be a very useful teaching aid in teaching entrepreneurship and management. The appearance of a book promoting the doctrine of quality and exposing the meaning of ethos of work is especially important because today the phenomenon of product adulteration becomes increasingly widespread, which is ironically referred to in literature as the “gold-plating” of products [Sennett, 2010, pp. 115-118], and the trend as “antifeatures”, that is intentionally limiting the efficiency and durability of products of daily use to create demand for new products. A model example of antifeature is a sim-lock installed in some telephones which makes it impossible to use SIM cards of foreign operators [Rohwetter, 2011, p. 48; Miszewski, 2013]. These types of negative phenomena are also promoted by the development of systemic solutions aiming at the diffusion of responsibility [Sennett, 2010]. This issue is presented among others by Nassim N.N. Taleb, in the book with a meaningful title Antifragile: How to Live in a World We Don’t Understand? The author proves that the economy and society lose their natural durability as a result of the introduction of numerous tools and methods of insurance against risks, but mostly by shifting the burden of risks on other entities [Taleb, 2012]. N.N. Taleb illustrates his arguments with numerous convincing examples and references to history, recalling, inter alia, that in ancient times there was no building control, but the constructors, e.g. of bridges had to sleep under them for some time after their construction, and the ancient aqueducts are still working well until today. So, he shows that a contemporary world, focused on quantitative effects, does not create a sound base for ethical behaviours and the care for the quality of work and manufacturing. Andrzej Blikle points to the need and possibility of opposing this, and opposing to what the Noble Price Winner for Economics, Joseph Stiglitz described as avarice triumphs over prudence [Stiglitz, 2015, p. 277]. The phrase emphasised in the book “Live and work with a purpose” is the opposition to the dangerous phenomena listed above, such as for example antifeatures. convincing that although the business activity is essentially focused on profits, making money, limited to this, it would be led to the syndrome of King Midas, who wanted to turn everything he touched into gold, but he soon realised that he was at risk of dying of starvation, as even the food turned into gold. What distinguishes this book is that almost every part of it forces in-depth reflections on the social and economic relations and brings to mind the works of other authors, but at the same time, creates a new context for them. So, A. Blikle clearly proves that both the economy and businesses need social rooting. This corresponds to the theses of the Hungarian intellectual Karl Polanyi, who in his renowned work The Great Transformation, already in 1944 argued that the economy is not rooted in the social relations [Polanyi, 2010, p. 70]. He pointed to the risk resulting from commodification of everything, and warned that allowing the market mechanism and competition to control the human life and environment would result in disintegration of society. Although K. Polanyi’s warnings were concerned with the industrial civilization, they are still valid, even now – when the digital revolution brings fundamental changes, among others, on the labour market – they strengthen it. The dynamics of these changes is so high that it seems that the thesis of Jeremy Rifkin on the end of work [Rifkin, 2003] becomes more plausible. It is also confirmed by recent analyses included in the book of this author, concerning the society of zero marginal cost and sharing economy [Rifkin, 2016], and the analyses concerning uberisation [Uberworld, 2016]. The book of Andrzej Blikle also evokes one of the basic asymmetries of the contemporary world, which is the inadequacy of the dynamics and sizes of the supply of products and services to the dynamics and sizes of the demand for them. Insufficient demand collides with the rapidly increasing, as a result of technological changes, possibilities of growth of production and services. This leads to overproduction and related therewith large negative implications, with features of wasteful economy of excess [Kornai, 2014]. It is accompanied by phenomena with features of some kind of market bulimia, sick consumerism, detrimental both to people and the environment [Rist, 2015]. One of the more compromising signs of the economy of excess and wasting of resources is wasting of food by rich countries, when simultaneously, there are areas of hunger in some parts of the world [Stuart, 2009]. At the same time, the economy of excess does not translate to the comfort of the buyers of goods – as in theory attributed to the consumer market. It is indicated in the publication of Janos Kornai concerning a comparative analysis of the features of socio-economic systems. While exposing his deep critical evaluation of socialist non-market systems, as economies of constant deficiency, he does not spare critical opinions on the capitalist economy of excess, with its quest for the growth of the gross domestic product (GDP) and profits. As an example of the economy of excess, he indicates the pharmaceutical industry, with strong monopolistic competition, dynamic innovativeness, wide selection for the buyers, flood of advertisements, manipulation of customers, and often bribing the doctors prescribing products [Kornai 2014, p. 202]. This type of abnormalities is not alien to other industries. Although J. Konrai appreciates that in the economy of excess, including the excess of production capacities, the excess is “grease” calming down and soothing clashes that occur in the mechanisms of adaptation, he also sees that those who claim that in the economy of excess (or more generally in the market economy), sovereignty of consumers dominates, exaggerate [Kornai, 2014, pp. 171-172], as the manufacturers, creating the supply, manipulate the consumers. Thus, there is an excess of supply – both of values as well as junk [Kornai, 2014, p. 176]. Analysing the economy of excess, J. Kornai brings this issue to the question of domination and subordination. It corresponds with the opinion of Jerzy Wilkin, according to whom, the free market can also enslave, so take away individual freedom; on the other hand, the lack of the free market can lead to enslavement as well. Economists willingly talk about the free market, and less about the free man [Wilkin, 2014, p. 4]. The economy of excess is one of the consequences of making a fetish of the economic growth and its measure, which is the gross domestic product (GDP) and treating it as the basis of social and economic activity. In such a system, the pressure of growth is created, so you must grow to avoid death! The system is thus comparable to a cyclist, who has to move forwards to keep his balance [Rist, 2015, p. 181]. It corresponds with the known, unflattering to economists, saying of Kenneth E. Boulding [1956], criticising the focus of economics on the economic growth, while ignoring social implications and consequences to the environment: Anyone who believes in indefinite growth in anything physical, on a physically finite planet, is either mad or an economist. [from: Rist, 2015, p. 268]. GDP is a very much needed or even indispensable measure for evaluation of the material level of the economies of individual countries and for comparing their economic health. However, it is insufficient for evaluation of the real level of welfare and quality of life. It requires supplementation with other measures, as it takes into account only the values created by the market purchase and sale transactions. It reflects only the market results of the activity of enterprises and households. Additionally, the GDP account threats the socially desirable and not desirable activities equally. Thus, the market activity related to social pathologies (e.g. functioning of prisons, prostitution, and drug dealing) also increase the GDP. It was accurately expressed already in 1968 by Robert Kennedy, who concluded the discussion on this issue saying that: the gross national product does not allow for the health of our children, the quality of their education or the joy of their play. It does not include the beauty of our poetry or the strength of our marriages, the intelligence of our public debate or the integrity of our public officials. It measures neither our wit nor our courage, neither our wisdom nor our learning, neither our compassion nor our devotion to our country, it measures everything in short, except that which makes life worthwhile [The Guardian, 2012]. While Grzegorz W. Kołodko even states that it should be surprising how it is possible that despite a number of alternative measures of social and economic progress, we are still in the corset of narrow measure of the gross product, which completely omits many significant aspects of the social process of reproduction [Kołodko, 2013, p. 44]. In this context he points to the necessity of triple sustainable growth – economic, social, and ecological [Kołodko, 2013, p. 377]. Transition from the industrial civilisation model to the new model of economy, to the age of information, causes a kind of cultural regression, a phenomenon of cultural anchoring in the old system. This type of lock-in effect - described in the source literature, that is the effect of locking in the existing frames and systemic solutions, is a barrier to development. The practice more and more often and clearer demonstrates that in the conditions of the new economy, the tools and traditional solutions turn out to be not only ineffective, but they even increase the risk of wrong social and economic decisions, made at different institutional levels. All this proves that new development models must be searched for and implemented, to allow counteraction to dysfunctions of the contemporary economy and wasting the development potential, resulting from a variety of maladjustments generated by the crisis of civilisation. Polish authors who devote much of their work to these issues include G.W. Kołodko, Jerzy Kleer, or Maciej Bałtowski. Studies confirm that there is a need for a new pragmatism, new, proinclusive model of shaping the social and economic reality, a model which is more socially rooted, aiming at reconciling social, economic and ecological objectives, with simultaneous optimisation of the use of the social and economic potential [Kołodko, 2013; Bałtowski, 2016; Kleer, 2015]. There is more and more evidence that the barriers to economic development growing in the global economy are closely related with the rooting of the economy in social relations. The book of A. Blikle becomes a part of this trend in a new and original manner. Although the author concentrates on the analyses of social relations mainly at the level of an enterprise, at the same time, he comments them at a macroeconomic, sociological and ethical level, and interdisciplinary contexts constitute an original value of the book. Conclusion I treat the book of Andrzej Blike as an important voice in favour of shaping an inclusive social and economic system, in favour of shaping inclusive enterprises, that is oriented on an optimal absorption of knowledge, innovation and effective reconciliation of the interests of entrepreneurs with the interests of employees and the interests of society. Inclusiveness is indeed a value in itself. It is understood as a mechanism/system limiting wasting of material resources and human capital, and counteracting environmental degradation. An inclusive social and economic system is a system oriented on optimisation of the production resources and reducing the span between the actual and potential level of economic growth and social development [Reforma, 2015]. And this is the system addressed by Andrzej Blikle in his book. At least this is how I see it. Although the book is mainly concerned with business management, its message has a much wider dimension and is concerned with real measures of wealth, money and people’s lives. null

Abstract:
Teacher competence is one of the factors causing the creation of teaching effectiveness. An educator’s success effectively produces students who can take advantage of knowledge and lessons in everyday life. In the Sunday school commission, teachers who are competent in teaching are also needed. Even though the teaching staff or teachers who teach are not professionals, they should have quality teaching standards. The purpose of writing this thesis is to determine the extent of the influence of the competence of Sunday school teachers on the effectiveness of teaching children in the GPdI El-Shaddai church, Makassar. The author uses this type of quantitative research using a questionnaire and conducting interviews via telephone addressed to teachers, administrators, evangelicals in the GPdI El-Shaddai Makassar congregation. From the research that has been done, it can be concluded that: 1) The competence of Sunday school teachers greatly affects the effectiveness of children's teaching. 2) Increasing teacher competence is obtained through training and evaluation, which are held annually. 3) a Sunday school teacher must be a role model and must first provide a good and right example to his students. 4) teaching aids and study rooms, and other supporting media are needed during the teaching process.

I here defend the thesis that the best life is the life that one plays as a game—specifically, a ‘Suitsian’ game that meets the definition proposed inThe Grasshopperby Bernard Suits. Even more specifically, it is a nested, open, role-playing game where the life’s quality as a game partly depends on there being no more people than players. To defend this thesis I refute two powerful challenges to it, one from Thomas Hurka (2006) and another from withinThe Grasshopperitself. In the process, I offer a new interpretation of that enigmatic and challenging book.

Definition of quality of life. In recent years, quality of life has become a very important measure of treatment of disease and successful therapy, regarding not only general health of an individual patient but also of the whole population In 1993 the WHO proclaimed 'Vision of health for all', as 'Add years to life' but also 'Add life to years', emphasizing quality of life to be as important as life duration. Although the remaining life expectancy in patients with cardiovascular disease is prolonged, there is still medical challenge: 'How to improve quality of life in these patients?'. Measurement of quality of life. Quality of life can be defined as the patient's perception of impact of disease and concomitant therapy and procedures on his physical and working capacity, emotional role, social communication and general health. Different types of standardized questionnaires for quality of life evaluation It can be measured by general health questionnaires and specified questionnaires for disease. Questionnaire SF-36 is regarded as one of the most reliable, considering the great number of publications. Conclusion. The most important step in complicated evaluation of quality of life is the adequate selection of questionnaire with a high confidence.

Abstract:
With the development of the equipment resources conservation in PLA, the equipment resource-ability is proposed as a basic property of the equipment. The reaction of the equipment are available to promote resource saving and environment-friendly capabilities. With the deepening of the study, how to transform the equipment resource-ability from theory to practice and how to measure the existing equipment’s equipment resource-ability become the urgent problems. As the important component of the equipment resource theory system, the evaluation of equipment resources can response the level of equipment resource-ability correctly and objectively and also can offer the instruction for the equipment research department on comprehension and improvement of equipment resource-ability. Setting out from the relevant concepts of equipment resource-ability, this thesis proposes the basic principle of evaluation of equipment resource-ability, which is the whole life cycle principle, typical and representative principle as well as the oriented principle. Meanwhile, through the analysis on each stage of the whole life cycle of equipment, this thesis elects some factors that has a greater impact on equipment resource-ability, namely equipping materials selected, function structure and disposal of pollutant. The impacts of the three factors mentioned above on the equipment resource-ability mainly reflect in the sustainable ability of equipment consuming resource, resource utilization efficiency and environmental impact. Therefore, this article will regard the sustainable ability of equipment consuming resource, resource utilization efficiency, environmental impacts as the principal parts of evaluation of equipment resource-ability., At the same time, the index such as the using proportion of scarce materials, the comprehensive energy consumption, the pollutant of liquid, emission, gas at unit time and the degree of human health damage will be as a specific index of evaluation of equipment resource-ability in the thesis.

Abstract:
In the industry that runs today, of course, electricity cannot be separated from the electricity used for all production processes. In Indonesia, currently PT. PLN (Persero) (PLN) is the only one of electrical energy provider for the medium and larger scale of industry. The electricity power for industry is usually supplied by 20 kV distribution grid. Meanwhile, industrial utilities, equipment and machinery mostly require lower voltage. Therefore, it is necessary to step down the voltage of the PLN distribution grid from 20 kV to 2 kV, 1 kV, 400 Volt or lower by using step down transformer. Step down transformer has very important role in any industrial facility. Failure and under performance in the maintenance and operation of step down transformer will cause significant effect to the continuation of industrial facility. There are several things that can affect the lifetime of the transformer, one of them is the power quality of the supplied electricity from the grid. The power quality in the form of Total Harmonic Distortion Voltage (THDV), Total Harmonic Distortion Current (THDI), voltage sag, flicker, current, and power must be maintained in required limit or standard range so that it keeps the step down transformer in the best performance and also longer lifetime. In order to know the performance and lifetime of the transformer, there are two important tests that need to carry out periodically which are Dissolved Gas Analysis (DGA) and Break Down Voltage (BDV) test. These tests examine the dissolved gas content and dielectric strength in the transformer oil. The work in this thesis is to carry out a study of power quality effect on a transformer lifetime. The supplied power quality of the PLN grid in the outgoing of step down transformer was measured by using HIOKI PW319 power analyser. Experiment and analysis in this thesis concluded that there is a strong correlation between the supplied power quality of PLN grid and the performance and lifetime of the examined transformers. Poor power quality causes the running lifetime and the performance of the examined transformers decreases.

Abstract:
This article describes evaluation results of undergraduate theses written by undergraduate EFL students in Universitas Mulawarman Samarinda. Evaluation was based on the quality of description of sections in every chapter of the theses. The presentation of the thesis fulfilled standard presentation of academic report, describing five parts of presentation: introduction, review of related literature, research methodology, findings and discussion, and conclusion and suggestions. However, the substance of each section in the whole thesis was lack of reasoning. In terms of organization and contents, the theses were colored with trivialities in reasoning, coverage of substance to be described in the sections, and details of description. The trivialities of description resulted some crucial points were missing. In addition, language uses and mechanics in the theses were also colored with awkward sentences.

Abstract:
Psoriasis is a disease that has a profound impact on all aspects of life quality because over years patients are faced not only with poor health, but also with a number of restrictions imposed by the disease in their professional, social and emotional life. The aim of the study was to assess the level of impairment to the life quality in patients with chronic plaque psoriasis in relation to the clinical status of the disease, disease duration, and age and gender of the examinees. The cross-sectional study was conducted at the Clinic for Skin and Venereal Diseases of the Clinical Center of Nis. The total sample consisted of 142 examinees, 82 in the primary group (patients with psoriasis), and 60 in the control group (healthy volunteers). In order to assess the impact of psoriasis on life quality and compare it to the life quality of healthy population, the DLQI questionnaire (Dermatology Life Quality Index)was used and the disease severity was estimated based on the value of the PASI score (Psoriasis Area and Severity Index). The results showed that the groups of examinees differ appreciably in self-assessment in all five dimensions of life quality. In patients with psoriasis, there was statistically significantly lower life quality as a reflection of the disease severity and subjective perceptions of the disease impact and treatment impact, but also as a result of a number of restrictions in daily functioning caused by the disease. Patients with a severer clinical status gave low ratings to their ability to function in all areas covered by the DLQI questionnaire, especially in the symptoms and feelings subscale. The results of our study indicate the importance of a multidisciplinary approach in the treatment of patients with psoriasis and the possibility of introducing a supportive therapy, which would, along with a regular dermatological therapy, notably improve the life quality of these patients.
