Abstract:
Multicasting is a technique used for distributing data packets from one or more sources to a set of receivers on interconnected networks. Currently developing network applications bring specific quality of service (QoS) requirements like bounded delay, minimum bandwidth, and maximum data loss rate. Providing the required quality of service addresses routing and resource reservation concepts. In this study, a literature survey is carried out on traditional and QoS multicast routing protocols, and the need for QoS routing protocols is investigated. Localised QoS routing is a relatively new, alternative and viable approach to solve the problems of traditional QoS routing algorithms which use global state information resulting in the imposition of a large communication overhead and route flapping. Proportional Sticky Routing (PSR) and Credit Based Routing (CBR) have been proposed as localised QoS routing schemes and these can offer comparable performances. The exponential growth of Internet applications has created new challenges for the control and administration of large-scale networks, which consist of heterogeneous elements under dynamically changing traffic conditions. Abstract:
The service oriented computing paradigm is a new model for distributed computing and due to its simplicity and powerful features, it is being popular and has a wide variety of implementation in different scenarios. The already built system is studies in detail, which was totally implemented using the Grid Technology. The idea of the current work is how we can implement the same functionality in the non-real time environment. The basic idea is to merge the web services and grid services to formulate the unique concept of context dependent quality of service (QoS) for both real time and non-real

This thesis presents several decentralized, learning-based algorithms for on-line routing of bandwidth guaranteed paths. The presented routing algorithms do not need any a-priori knowledge of traffic demand; they use only their locally observed events and update their routing policy using learning schemes. The employed learning algorithms are either learning automata or the multi-armed bandit algorithms. We investigate the asymptotic behavior of the proposed routing algorithms and prove the convergence of one of them to the user equilibrium. Discrete event simulation results show the merit of

Best effort networks fail to deliver the level of service emerging Internet applications demand. As a result many networks are being transformed to Quality of Service (QoS) networks, of which most are Differentiated Services (DiffServ) networks. While the deployment of such networks has been feasible, it is extremely difficult to overhaul the transport layer protocols such as Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) running on hundreds of millions of end nodes around the world. TCP, which has been designed to run on a best effort network, perform poorly in a DiffServ network. It fails to deliver th

Bluetooth is a low cost, short-range radio technology that enables electronic devices to communicate wirelessly via ad-hoc networks. Different kinds of applications may run over these networks, some of these applications with particular Quality of Service (QoS) requirements. One such application could for instance be an Audio application which need data frames to be delivered at regular interval to work properly. The communication over Bluetooth links is totally controlled by one of the participating nodes. Since this node controls the traffic and thereby controls the QoS within the network it

Web Service technology is one of the most rapidly developing contemporary technologies. Nowadays, Web Services are being used by a large number of projects and academic studies all over the world. As the use of Web service technology is increasing, it becomes harder to find the most suitable web service which meets the Quality of Service (QoS) as well as functional requirements of the user. In addition, quality of the web services (QoS) that take part in the software system becomes very important. In this thesis, we develop a method to track the QoS primitives of Web Services and an algorithm

Abstract:
Composition of web services is one of the flexible and easiest approaches for creating composite services that fulfill complex tasks. Together with providing convenience in creation of new software applications, service composition has various challenges. One of them is the satisfaction of user-defined Quality of Service (QoS) requirements while selecting services for a composition. Load balancing issue is another challenge as uncontrolled workload may lead to violation of service providers&rsquo<br>QoS declarations. This thesis work proposes a QoS aware method for optimum service composition
