A quantitative description of overlaps on fractures in sialon ceramics, is presented in the paper. A conventional analysis, aiming at the determination of the percentage share of overlaps on the basis of quantitative fractography, was preceded by stereometric/fractal analyses. They enabled the selection of representative sections of samples and then, the production of transverse microsections in those places for an analysis of the fractures’ profiles using the light microscopy method and fractographic image analysis. Analysis of issues related to the cracking process of materials requires a quantitative description of the problem which frequently, due to its complexity, is difficult or impossible to solve. In a number of cases, the deficiencies of a quantitative description made using classical methods are compensated for by such unconventional tools as percolation, which requires creating an appropriate model. The aim of the study was to use a three-dimensional minimal spanning tree (3DMST) to create a model of the crack path, based on an example of a metallic biomaterial. For this purpose, a stereometric

Micro ball grid array (BGA) technology has gained attention due to the increasing density and miniaturization of BGA packages. Underfill is applied to BGA components to protect solder joints from mechanical and thermal stress, and reducing the risk of solder joint failure during thermal cycling test (TCT). Numerous studies have explored underfill materials, processing, and dispensing patterns in BGA components, but less focus on quantitative impact of underfills towards solder joint damage. This study employs stereometric analysis to quantify underfillinduced damage on micro-BGA solder joints

In this paper, we have performed qualitative and quantitative analysis of LuMnO3 thin films surfaces, deposited by spin coating over Pt(111)/TiO2/SiO2/Si substrates, to evaluate their spatial patterns as a function of the film’s sintering temperature. Atomic force microscopy was employed to obtain topographic maps that were extensively analyzed via image processing techniques and mathematical tools. 3D (three-dimensional) topographical images revealed that films sintered at 650°C and 750°C presented the formation of smoother surfaces, while the film sintered at 850°C displayed a rougher surfac

The article discusses modern methods for studying the qualitative and quantitative parameters of bones, which play a key role in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of musculoskeletal diseases. The review article analyzes the results of stereometric analysis of bone microstructure based on scanning electron microscopy. Among qualitative methods, particular attention is paid to morphological and histological studies, which allow assessing the structure and condition of bone tissue at the microscopic level. Quantitative methods include radiography, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonan

The variety of mitochondrial morphology in healthy and diseased cells can be explained by regulated mitochondrial fusion. Previously, a mitochondrial outer membrane fraction containing fusogenic, aluminum fluoride (AlF4)-sensitive GTP-binding proteins (mtg) was separated from rat liver (J. D. Cortese, Exp. Cell Res. 240: 122–133, 1998). Quantitative confocal microscopy now reveals that mtg transiently increases mitochondrial membrane potential (ΔΨ) when added to permeabilized rat hepatocytes (15%), rat fibroblasts (19%), and rabbit myocytes (10%). This large mtg-induced ΔΨ increment is blocked

Медицина нашого століття має характерну особливість – вона стала за своєю суттю медициною екологічних катастроф. Purpose. The purpose of the research work is: – possibility to combine different ways of solving certain mathematical problems. In general, the term “non-standard” methods of solving problems in mathematics has not defined yet, but many authors use this term in their researchers. It should be noted that there are many school problems that use unusual considerations. These are the tasks that are considered to be more complex and require non-standard methods of solving. These methods illustrate the wide possibilities of using well-acquired school knowledge and instill skills in using non-standar
