Abstract:
Fifteen years ago Casteel and Grayson (1977) identified potential ambiguity in the definitions of quantitative terms and units used by zooarchaeologists. As solutions they suggested that analysts use the original definitions of terms and explicitly specify how units are counted. The history of zooarchaeology since then has involved a shift from producing estimates of taxonomic abundances to measuring various taphonomic processes and effects within taxa. As a result, many new quantitative units and terms for those units have been proposed. Some of these new units and terms have been used to mea

Special attention is being paid to proverbs with the above units. The proverbs in question are mostly one-sentence, two-block (theme, rheme), with one topic, devoid of fable and title. The evaluative semes are actualized by both lexemes (good, bad), seemingly chaotic. The basic lexemes are bifunctional; they have both nominative and evaluative functions. Full details and actionable recommendations for stakeholders are offered in the body of the report, which offers guidance to university libraries and other campus units, faculty, vendors, and others interested in improving institutional capacities to support data-intensive instruction in the social sciences.

Abstract:
We document a strong empirical connection between corporate taxation and the manufacturing labor share, both in the US and across OECD countries. Our estimates associate 30 percent to 60 percent of the observed decline in labor shares with the fall in corporate taxation. Using an equilibrium model of an industry where firms differ in their capital intensities, we show that lower corporate tax rates reduce the labor share by raising the market share of capital-intensive firms. The tax elasticity of the labor share depends on the joint distribution of labor intensities and value added at the mic

In particular, as temperatures rise in coming decades, natural resource management in the western United States must cope with expectations for elevated severity and frequency of droughts. These challenges are particularly pronounced for vegetation managers in dryland environments. Developing adaptive strategies requires specific information about the expected magnitude of change in climate and drought conditions as well as insights into how those changes will affect important vegetation

The recent developments at the multilateral and regional fronts call for a re-evaluation of trade and integration options for MERCOSUR. Applying a brand new CGE model, we evaluated six scenarios. The simulation results indicate that trade agreements will generate relatively small but positive gains. Integration with the Unites States and the European Union, two key partners, will have somewhat divergent and opposite outcomes. Agriculture will be a clear winner, while MERCOSUR has competitiveness issue in capital-intensive manufacturing sectors. It is revealed that the bloc's present trade poli
