Abstract. Two pairs of small stagnant ice bodies on the Hazen Plateau of northeastern Ellesmere Island, the St. Patrick Bay ice caps and the Murray and Simmons ice caps, are rapidly shrinking, and the remnants of the St. Patrick Bay ice caps are likely to disappear entirely within the next 5 years. Vertical aerial photographs of these Little Ice Age relics taken during August of 1959 show that the larger of the St. Patrick Bay ice caps had an area of 7.48 km2 and the smaller one 2.93 km2; the Murray and Simmons ice caps covered 4.37 and 7.45 km2 respectively. The disposal of wastes to sea is regulated internationally by the Oslo and Paris Conventions, which were ratified by the United Kingdom in 1975 and 1978 respectively. Of particular concern in the case of mercury is its possible incorporation in the aquatic food chain and transfer to man via marine foodstuffs. Abstract. INTRODUCTIONThe empty tests of dead foraminifera behave as sedimentary particles and are subject to transport, although their different shapes and effectively low density means that their hydraulic equivalence is greater than that of spherical quartz grains (see Haake, 1962). Their estimated traction velocities range from c. 4 cm s−1 to c. 13 cm s−1 (Snyder et al., 1999). The presence of calcareous foraminiferal tests in a fossil sedimentary deposit would normally be taken as an indication of deposition in a marine environment. The chemical composition of tropical forages is generally more complex than that of temperate forages, yet the need for simple methods to predict nutritive value is greater. Near Infrared Reflectance (NIR) spectra could provide a possible solution. NIR has been used to predict both in vitro and in vivo digestibility (Murray, 1993). Direct calibration with in vivo parameters is ideal, but factors such as different types of forages, animals and management conditions have to be taken into consideration. Music teacher educators are not alone when grappling with the challenge of preparing students to navigate diversity and confront inequity and injustice. Educators and researchers from multiple disciplines face similar challenges and have responded with various approaches related to cultural multiplicity. The concept of “cultural humility” is one such approach from the health sciences (Tervalon and Murray-García 1998). I both put forward and challenge cultural humility as a process for preparing music educators to think about, work, interact, and live with cultural multiplicity. I draw on perso

The in-vitro gas production studies revealed that the net gas production (NGP), NDF and true OM digestibility, and ME availability was highest in BCH followed by that in ensiled BCH and lowest in ensiled BCH-RS. The methane production as per cent of net gas production was also lowest in BCH and highest in ensiled
