Canada frostweed (Helianthemum canadense) is a perennial herb whose abundance and habitat are declining in Nova Scotia. During the 2006 winter and 2007 spring seasons, tomato lines carrying the Ty2 gene, which confers resistance to the Tomato leaf curl Taiwan virus (GenBank Accession No. U88692), showed severe yellowing, leaf curl, and stunting symptoms in several locations in Tainan County, Taiwan. Whiteflies were found to be associated with symptomatic plants, and disease incidences of almost 100% were observed. The presence of a new resistance breaking begomovirus was suspected. Six symptomatic leaf samples of three different tomato plants from each infected field were collected in Liouying (LY3, 7, and 8) a

The cities in the study were Montreal, Quebec; Ottawa, Ontario; and Vancouver, British Columbia, in Canada and Portland, Oregon, and San Francisco, California, in the United States. Count data showed that the bicycle volume patterns at each location could be classified as utilitarian, mixed utilitarian, mixed recreational, and recreational. As in any developed country, light pollution is a serious problem in Quebec. However, a specific cultural and economical situation forces us to use new tactics when it is time to discuss this problem. As an example, using energy loss as an argument against light pollution is very inefficient since the electricity is cheap (US$0.04/kWh) and clean (hydroelectricity). On the other hand, using the negative ecological impacts of light pollution appears to be the most effective way to create awareness in the population.

The rights of aboriginal peoples may vary from one part of the country to the other. This stems from the origin of Canada, its history, its Imperial and the Constitutional Statutes which have determined the territorial evolution of Canada. The terms of the Quebec Act seem to limit the hunting territories of the Indians to that part of Quebec which was not a part of the Colony in 1763. While a federal law extinguished all aboriginal rights in the territory covered by the James Bay agreements, the amendment of 16 March 1983 may have, for Quebec, important legal consequences in that these agreeme

It has been built on five principles laid out in the Canada Health Act (1984); these are: Public Administration, Comprehensiveness, Universality, Portability, and Accessibility. In sum, the right to health has been at the organizational core of the Canadian health system. Provinces and territories administer and deliver most of the health services in Canada. This

The presence of regional variation can be investigated by introducing interactions between regions and the regression coefficients in the scoring algorithm.
